RE: Revdex.com #[redacted]
Dear [redacted],
I am in receipt of the Revdex.com complaint filed by [redacted] disputing the validity of the lease contract with Pitney Bowes.
The lease in question was signed on January 17, 2013 by [redacted] represented herself as the Office Manager and stated she was authorized to sign contracts on behalf of her employer [redacted]. During this time they have been using the equipment and made all lease payments.
Pitney Bowes spoke with [redacted] January 14, 2014 regarding his request to cancel the lease. [redacted] stated the price of the agreement was no longer in his budget. Pitney Bowes offered to restructure the lease which would decrease the quarterly payment. [redacted] declined this offer.
Pitney Bowes spoke with [redacted] May 5, 2014 regarding his request to cancel. At this time [redacted] alleged [redacted] was not authorized to sign the lease agreement. [redacted] was advised the lease is a non-cancellable agreement however a lease settlement was an option. May 28, 2014 [redacted] was provided a settlement quote. June 12, 2014 I spoke with [redacted], the attorney for [redacted]. The early termination quote was negotiated as client satisfaction is important to Pitney Bowes.
[redacted] presented the negotiated price to his client who accepted the proposal June 13, 2014. Email copies below of settlement letter and acceptance.
Respectfully yours,

Dear [redacted],
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today concerning the lease between Pitney Bowes and [redacted]. It is the position of Pitney Bowes the lease was signed by an authorized representative of [redacted].
Pitney Bowes has previously provided an early termination amount of $1,314.06.
Pursuant to our conversation today Pitney Bowes has revised the early termination amount to $250.00 valid through 7/12/14. This settlement offer assumes that all of the Lease obligations will have been met at that time, including payment obligations, and [redacted]s obligation to maintain the equipment in accordance with the terms of the lease.
Upon receipt of the Termination Amount:
•              The obligation for lease 2310227-001 will be satisfied.
•              An email notification will be sent within 3 business days regarding the method of equipment return if Pitney Bowes has your email on file.
The Leased equipment will remain the property of Pitney Bowes Global Financial Services, LLC.  Please send your check to:

This reduction in amount is not meant to indicate a change of position regarding the authority [redacted] represented to Pitney Bowes.
Rather this reduction is offered to eliminate the lengthy dispute process and further client dissatisfaction.

Dear [redacted]:
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you regarding [redacted] [redacted] Lease Account.
It is my understanding that [redacted] [redacted] is requesting termination of the lease.  Our records show [redacted] [redacted] entered into a 63 month lease agreement commencing 10-20-09 and is set to expire 1-20-15.  This agreement requires 21 quarterly payments and only 20 have been received as of 9-23-14.  One final payment is required to satisfy the agreement. We have enclosed copy of  [redacted] and Terms and Conditions.
Leases are non-cancelable agreements per the terms and conditions.  The final balance due is $ 212.77 and will required for payment in full by 12/15/2014 to settle lease.  Once lease is paid in full, Pitney Bowes can provide packaging and pre-paid [redacted] label for return of equipment.
The [redacted] Account [redacted] is a line of credit used for postage as form of convenience billing.  This is a valid balance that is not part of the lease agreement.  The account balance $ 3,882.69 as of the statement date 9/18/14 is from postage previously used by [redacted] [redacted] and accrued late fees and finance charges per the Terms and Conditions of the [redacted] Agreement.  In effort to settle this account we can offer non-negotiable reduced pay-off balance for  $2,967.96.   Please remit for payment to the address below:

If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I am rejecting this response because: Our owner is working on transferring our leased meter machine to her husbands business, of which he currently has a month-to-month meter he will cancel immediately.   He will not be renewing any rental or lease after this transferred meter lease ends on 3/30/2017.

RE: Response to Client Rejection to Revdex.com [redacted]

Dear [redacted],

In response to the client’s rejection to Pitney Bowes not addressing their concerns regarding the [redacted] inserter product. We believe that we have responded and acted upon the client complaint to resolve the product issues driving the concerns relating to their [redacted] inserter. Overall conclusion, based upon the facts, Pitney Bowes has not misrepresented either the product or its overall operational capabilities or the support offered by service.

The facts are as follows:
•           The electronic service history indicates that the [redacted] was installed in October of 2013.
•           The client placed service requests during October and November of 2014. The combined total was 4.
•           No other service requests have been submitted by the client in 2015
•           There were no other communications between the client and service during the time frames defined.

•           Some communication towards product and payment settlement with 3rd party representation ([redacted] [redacted] -contact made April and May of 2015). Also, in the April and May time frame the client communicated with PB recovery agent [redacted], which was a result of the client not meeting their lease payment commitment. Through this process, as mentioned, service was never contacted about any issues.
•           On 9/1/2015 a Customer Service Representative was dispatched to the client’s location based upon an agreement between Harrison S[redacted] and the client. During this visit we believe we addressed any and all issues with the machines. To further ensure our repair was 100 percent complete we set up a follow-up appointment for the next time they required use of the machine, which was for 09-03-2015. This too was agreed upon by the client. [redacted], on 9/2/2015, due to his disagreement with our response to the Revdex.com on 8/31/2015 cancelled our follow up, because he now needed input from [redacted] before moving forward.

The suggested Pitney Bowes’ compromise is as follows:
•           Again offer the client a scheduled date for the follow up service as we believe the client will observe we have corrected the issues.
•           After having my discussion with [redacted] on 9/2/2015, it is my belief that the client is unhappy with this model/design even if/when it’s fully functional.
•           Once confirmed that the [redacted] is fully functional, we then propose an upgrade to a model [redacted]. This model is more ideal to the client’s expectations.
•           Next step is to have sales representation propose the pricing for the [redacted]. To move forward a settlement would need to be reached on the past due amounts on lease [redacted], schedule 001 of $1631.36 and on schedule 002 of $1120.69

Note: The lease has already been cancelled on the [redacted] due to non-payment. In order to get an upgrade model, payment is needed on these past due balances.

Our Recovery Team is fine with sales becoming involved to resolve the leasing issues. The Recovery Team can have the assigned agency ([redacted]) close the lease as placed in error. However, the client will have to pay [redacted] the remaining balance due on the purchase power account as those charges are valid.

We strive to give the best service possible for our clients. In that effort, once the above-mentioned payments are received, our sales team will offer follow up quoting of an upgrade model with [redacted] and [redacted]. Furthermore, if the [redacted] doesn’t function as sold the unit will be replaced at no cost.

In conclusion, the client must provide Pitney Bowes the opportunity to repair the unit and or replace if it doesn’t function as sold. And, if this isn’t the model of machine they want our sales team will work with them to upgrade what they have currently.

Respectfully yours,

Dear [redacted],
I am in receipt of the Revdex.com complaint #[redacted]. The client [redacted]...

[redacted] wanted to cancel the lease without penalty claiming unauthorized signature because he was out of the office at the time
The Departure team spoke with [redacted] on 10/15/14 and advised him of the settlement; they negotiated it down from $1514 to $650. Although this is a valid lease he was upset and told them he was not going to pay
I left a message for [redacted] advising lease is valid and the reduced settlement will be good until 11/15/14, I also stated his IP address is on the E signed document and he would not have had to be in the office to get his email.  Last refill was 10/6/14 and meter has been being used .I left the leasing number to call back and discuss

Dear Ms. [redacted],

This is in response to Mrs. [redacted] rejection notice,

In the previous response, we mentioned [redacted]., will receive a corrected invoice within 2-3 weeks and to discard the current invoice; this is still the processing time. The new invoice will be $54.73 which is a credit of $18.59 for the two previous quarters.  Going forward Mrs. [redacted] invoice will be $59.85/quarter before taxes.

I sincerely apologize on behalf of Pitney Bowes for the unintentional error of referring to Mrs. [redacted] as he instead of she in the original response. Thank you for calling our attention to this mistake.

Please know we value your business and want to ensure your needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

Your feedback is of extreme value as we continue to make process improvements to meet the needs of our clients.

I am rejecting this response because:I did not have to pay nothing to end the lease, I had to send a credit card payment of $360.00 to end lease #[redacted].  I was told that if I did not pay this amount the late charges would accrue and my company would be sent to collections.  Basically, our good credit was threatened. Also, what kind of company renews leases for 51 months with an electronic signature?   Why don't they ask for and keep on file a person's signature?  They count on people not being able to offer proof that they did not sign electronically.   Also, why 51 months?  Youknow the machine will need to be upgraded during that time.    It is during these "no cost" upgrades that the leases are snuck in for a signature. An investigation really needs to be done regarding the business practices of Pitney Bowes

Pitney Bowes Recovery

[redacted]

Review: I closed my account on November 2013 and at that time I inquired if I had any balance; I was told that I did not have a balance that remained. In April I received a notice from a collection agency. I called and spoke to [redacted] and he informed me that Pitney Bowes stated I had an outstanding balance. He suggested I contact them after I told him what I was told in November of 2013. I spoke to [redacted] who stated that in Aug of 2013 and Oct of 2013 my automatic payment did not go through and that Pitney Bowes then opened an account called "Purchase [redacted]". I was never informed of the transactions that did not go through nor was I told another account was opened in my name. I asked him why was I not told even when I closed my account and sent the rental machine back-he did not know. He suggested I contact Recovery Services, I did and still have not heard back even after a follow-up call on 5/6/2014. I have informed [redacted] at [redacted] Collection Agency of my situation. Today, 5/19/14, I looked on the web for the phone number to Purchase [redacted]s and obtained what was originally outstanding. I spoke to [redacted] and asked for the address for Purchase [redacted] payments; he did not want to give it to me until I asked for a supervisor. He gave me P[redacted]. I informed him I would mail a payment for the 2 outstanding months, but not the late fees. He said it would not matter. I told him they would be getting what was owed no more, no less.Desired Settlement: I would like someone to contact them regarding their accounting practices. They should never have opened a completely different account in my name! I should have been told upon inquiry of that other account, especially since I was closing my account with them for the rental. This is very deceptive!! I would like to be copied on any correspondence.

Review: I was deceived by a Sales Representative when signing a 6 year lease to lease a postage machine. I asked if I wanted to get out of the lease, would it be possible, he advised it would be no problem.

I have been unhappy with the customer service from the get go. It took 2 months for them to originally bring the machine out to me. In addition, since the beginning, I have been trying to get the name on the account changed. We had problems switching service and there was major confusion when we split the business in two. The machine has had problems and getting a maintenance person is near impossible. Now, I am at a point that I do not need nor want the machine.

I requested cancellation and they sent me me a settlement statement. On 12/1/15, I responded that it was an unfeasible amount: $3496.94. I also requested a copy of the lease and a breakdown of the charges. I requested they call my cell phone to discuss.

On 1/8/16- still no response, I emailed [redacted] who I had been in previous contact.

On 1/12/16- I received a voice message from [redacted] on my office phone.

On 1/13/16- I left a message for [redacted] to call my CELL phone

On 1/16/16- I emailed [redacted] because still no response from [redacted]

On 1/21/16- [redacted] sent me another settlement letter, but did not address my questions or concerns. They advised I contact the leasing department.

I called the leasing department, waited on hold for 25 minutes. Explained my situation. Girl said she could not help me, but would send a copy of my lease and I was transferred. I again, explained my situation to another girl. Girl said she could not help me, but I could talk to [redacted]. She advised that she was not available, but would leave her a message and send an email for her to call me on my CELL phone.

1/21/16- [redacted] left a message at my OFFICE

1/21/16- Received the [redacted] Terms, but nothing with MY terms and conditions with my signature.

1/22/16- 9am I left message for [redacted] to call my CELL phone

1/26/16- [redacted] called my OFFICE and left a message with my secretary

1/27/16- 8am I left a message for [redacted] to call my CELL phone.

1/27/16- requested via email that MY lease terms be sent to me.

The customer service has been horrendous and I do not see how I can be locked in for 6 years when I am not provided proper service. I was mislead and feel that I was taken advantage of by the sales representative.Desired Settlement: I want my contract to be terminated and with no settlement charges or to be at least negotiable. I find $3496.94 to be unreasonable. It would cost less if I just rode out my contract.

Review: We have 4 different accounts with Pitney Bowes for 4 different locations. On September 21, 2015 we received a collection notice for our [redacted] location. Odd cause all the other bills were current. I reached out to Pitney Bowes and was able to negotiate a settlement of $200, which was for the funds used. They took away the late fees, and extra charges. A check was mailed out to Pitney Bowes on September 25, 2015.

Around October 20, 2015 I was contacted by Desiree C[redacted]o renew all the leases, which we did. A few days later the install was completed but we were unable to load funds on the [redacted] meter. Upon reaching out to Desiree Ci[redacted], she advised we needed Purchase Power and advised to fill out application, which we did. After several follow-up on my behalf, I found out the application was denied due to outstanding collection balance on the account. Which was paid by us on September. Desiree said she would look into it and get back with me. A couple days later, we get another collection bill from another collection agency for another amount. How does one account get 2 collections bills for 2 different amounts? This was paid. Again, I reached out to Desiree who reached out to Nicole I[redacted] at A[redacted]. They needed a copy of the cashed checked....which I provided. This was provided on December 10, 2015. I've send numerous emails to both Desiree and Nicole. Left messages. I've not gotten a return call or email. I can provide emails which show tremendous follow-up from me and no replies from either party. On December 21, 2015, I got a call from Kevin at A[redacted]. Letting me know that I have an outstanding collection and how would I like to take care of that today. I let Kevin know what was going on and that I would like to speak with Nicole. I was advised that Nicole is out of the office but that he would be more than happy to look into this for me. I let Kevin know that I have a postage meter I'm paying for, that I can't use. And that I would be willing to pay whatever today to bring the account current just to be able to mail from the machine. And that we can take care of everything else later. They can send a refund. Kevin said, well I don't want you to pay twice on this. Let me look into what's going on and I'll get back with you. I emailed Kevin a copy of the cashed check while I was on the phone with him. He confirmed receipt of the email. Today, December 29, 2015, I haven't heard from Kevin. I emailed Kevin this morning at 10:00am and have not heard back.Desired Settlement: I want Pitney Bowes to adjust the account to reflect 0 is past due/in collection so that we can obtain Purchase Power to add funds to our postage machine.

Review: Account billing was not changed following phone conversation in April

April 23,2013 I spoke with a representative concerning my account with Pitney Bowes. This was to result in a lower rate. In a followup phone conversation this did not occur until another phone call in June when lower rate went into effect. Therefore the bill did not reflect the changed rate as should have occurred in April.Desired Settlement: Please correct this account

RE: Revdex.com # XXXXXXXX

[redacted] of [redacted] Branch Hill Miamiville Rd

Loveland, OH XXXXX

Dear Ms. [redacted]

Pitney Bowes is in receipt of Revdex.com complaint # XXXXXXXX. Pitney Bowes understands the frustration of the customer Ms. [redacted] regarding her rental billing.

On 4/22/2013, [redacted] of [redacted] spoke with Pitney Bowes as they were not happy with the increase of their rental pricing and wanted to return the equipment. Pitney Bowes offered the client to return their current equipment for a new more up to date postage meter with a lower price of $12.95 per month for their first year plus sales tax. [redacted] of [redacted] agreed to this new pricing and received their new meter on 4/23/2013. Pitney Bowes had already billed the client for their previous equipment with the invoice attached for the coverage period of 05/01/13 - 07/31/13 and did not adjust for the new rate as the new rate was to go into effect on their next quarterly invoice.

Pitney Bowes has credited [redacted] of [redacted] Purchase Power account a total credit of $64.02. [redacted] of [redacted] previous pricing was $98.97 per quarter plus sales tax for a total of $105.40 minus their new pricing of $38.85 per quarter plus sales tax for $41.38 for the total credit to their Purchase Power account of $64.02.

[redacted] of [redacted] will be able to view this credit within the next two billing cycles of their Purchase Power account.

Pitney Bowes appreciates all of your information and feedback. This assists us in educating our staff to ensure we provide excellent Customer Service.

Respectfully yours,

2225 American Drive

Pitney Bowes has been extremely difficult to deal with regarding the return of a leased postage machine. I will absolutely never deal with them again and I encourage others to look at all different options available to you before even considering Pitney Bowes. Their right hand does NOT know what their left hand is doing, and even when I talk with someone about what is supposed to happen next, that's not what happens next. For example, since the only way to return a leased postage machine is to have Pitney Bowes send you a box, I requested the box at the expiration of my lease term. It took them two months to send the box (when they promised I would have it in 7 days and then I had to call again), during which time they continued to bill me for the machine. I called to complain about those charges, and I was told that they would be removed, but I continue to get mailed and emailed billings demanding payment. I've spent far more time dealing with this company than the convenience of having their machine in my business for the 5 year contract term. Even if I have to go to the post office every day to buy stamps, I will NEVER use this company again for any service.

Review: I called Pitney Bowes Inc. (after searching the internet) and requested to purchase a Postage Mail Machine. The sales person that I talked to (I have to really search my records if a name is required) stated that I could not purchase the product outright, however, I can purchase it within a year's of installment payments. That statement made me believe that after the year installments the product will be mine.I made all my payments monthly payments for the year and of course after after about a year I received another bill so I immediately called Pitney Bowes to question the billed amount ($38.09) - (12 x $38.09 = $457.08) - (Original price $350 or less) Of course you never speak to the person you originally talked too, but I was told that the product (mail machine) can never be mine because it belongs to the government. So I will be billed $38.09 so long I have the machine (that meant for the rest of my life). I now have a dilemma, I can not return it because I will never get my $457.09 back. And in May I hesitated paying the bill because I did not know what direction to take but I did sent sent the $10.00 (minimum amount due on 5/2)And I currently received the June 2014 bill, and a $29.99 was added as late fees?Note: Since I have to pay the $38.09 for the rest of my life just let the machine deteriorate in a storage facility somewhere until my death. You cannot bill a dead person. And by the time someone do find the machine it will be useless (just my feeling)THIS CUSTOMER IS NOT HAPPY!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like this product (Mail Machine) to be mine outright the same way I go to any store and purchase an item. Example a TV.I would like to actually send this complaint to the government since it appears to be a government issue.

I am in receipt of Revdex.com [redacted] with T[redacted] wrote in to address the request to own the postage meter after the first year of service. Stating that a sales rep said they would own the meter and that he went only to review.

In reviewing the account, Pitney Bowes postage meters can never be owned to holding US currency (mint) . Current U.S. Federal regulations require that all postage meter manufacturers retain ownership of the meter. Therefore, a company or individual cannot own a postage meter but it can be rented or included in a lease.

Please refer to this website link to view information stating this. [redacted] You may also view more specifically from accessing the support function from our website. [redacted]

I have also attached the Terms & Conditions of the meter rental. Under section R1.2 Ð Postage, Subsection (d), it states that ÒFederal regulations require that we own the meter.Ó

If you have any further questions about the meter rental, please contact me at the number below.

WE WERE PAYING LIKE $19.00 RENTAL AND THEY WERE GIVING US $60.00 PER QUARTER IN STAMPS. THEY SAID NOTHING TO ME THAT THEY WERE CHANGING THE TYPE ON CONTRACT JUST TO CHANGE THE NAME ON THE RENTAL. THEY CHANGED IT TO A LEASE FOR $122.00 PER QUARTER. I CALLED WHEN I GOT THE FIRST BILL. THEY SAID THEY COULDNT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. YESTERDAY I GOT A LETTER SAYING THEY WANTED $2148.00 TO CANCEL THE LEASE. I CALLED XXXX-XXX-XXXX THEY SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT EITHER. THEY SAID WE OWED ANOTHER 42 ONTHS AT $ 137.00 PER MONTH. I NEVER CALLED OR INTENDED TO CHANGE FROM A RENTAL TO A LEASE. THIS IS A SMALL COMPANY ([redacted] INC , ACCT # XXXXXX) POST OFFICE IS A COUPLE OF BLOCKS AWAY WE WERE RENTING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COSTING US ANYTHING. WE HAVE TO DRIVE TO POST OFFICE TO TAKE MAIL BECAUSE NO MAIL DELIVERY HERE, SO WE HAVE NO REASON TO LEASE AT $137.00 A QUARTER. I FEEL LIKE THEY TOOK ADVATAGE OF US. I WAS MISLEAD ON THE PHONE BY THEIR REPRESENTATIVE, I CALLED REALLY UPSET AND THEY DID NOTHING. I HAVE BEEN PAYING THE LEASE AND NOW THEY WANT TO REPOSSESS THE EQUIPMENT AND CHARGE US $2148.00. THEY SAY THE LEASE IS NON CANCELLABLE AND WE ARE JUST STUCK WITH THE SITUATION.I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY AND CORRECT THIS MISUNDERSTANDING, WITH NO RESULTS. THEY DID THIS AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT THE ORIGNAL RENATL COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS

I WOULD LIKE TO EITHER PUT OUR ACCOUNT BACK LIKE IT WAS AS A RENTAL AND LET US OUT OF THIS LEASE THAT THEY MISREPRESENTED TO ME. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE TO ME. OR WHATEVER YOU THINK IS FAIR.

RE: [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted],

I am in receipt of complaint number [redacted].

Ms. [redacted] states that she wishes to terminate her lease with Pitney Bowes on grounds that she was not aware she had agreed to this lease. She is requesting to return to the rental agreement she had with Pitney Bowes previously.

In this situation, Ms. [redacted] did electronically sign a lease agreement that states she agrees to lease the Pitney Bowes equipment for a term of 51 months billed quarterly at $122 before tax. A copy of this document is attached for your convenience. Per business rules, such an agreement is ratified once payment to the lease has been made. Since signing the agreement Ms. [redacted] has made four payments ratifying and validating the lease.

I understand that there was an increase to the quarterly payment with the lease and therefore propose the following solution. Pitney Bowes offers to reduce the quarterly payment to better reflect what was paid for the rental agreement. This will be done by restructuring the lease for six months (adding six months to the end of the term) for a new rate of $111.25 quarterly. Unlike the previous rental agreement, this payment will not go up during the term of the lease, includes free postage refills and includes all necessary updates and repairs to the machine up to and including replacement. If agreeable, I would be happy to assist in generating any necessary paperwork to be sent to Ms. [redacted].

Respectfully yours,

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

I don't want to extend this lease an additional 6 months. The reduction I would agree to but not for 6 more months. I plan on cancelling this ASAP. I do not want to keep this any longer then we have to. Yes we made payments. I called and asked about the LEASE charges the first bill. They told me I had no options. I had to pay or they would turn me over for collections. I was not given an option before I made the first payment to cancel or I would have. They have stuck me with this lease and now say I could have cancelled before the first lease payment was made. This is a lie!!! They said I had to pay or go to collections. Which they sent it to collections anyways even when we had paid all of the lease payments. Now they want to tack on another 6 months to lease we didn't want to begin with. This is exactly what i'm complaining about.

Dear [redacted],

T[redacted] entered into a binding, 51-month non-cancelable Lease Agreement on 10/10/2012 for the above lease. The contract indicates T[redacted] acknowledgment of this agreement by electronic signature on 10/10/2012. This document is the executed legal copy of this lease and constitutes as the original document for all effective purposes. Agreement was signed and returned by [redacted].

This requires 17 Quarterly invoices beginning 12/20/2012 through 3/20/2017. Pitney Bowes has notified T[redacted] several times of the validity and requirement to pay settlement to terminate lease early. The Settlement amount is $2158.23 covering contract balance and early return fees. The attached agreements reflect no initialed alterations or misrepresentation on behalf of Pitney Bowes.

In effort to resolve dispute amicably, we will offer reduced settlement of $ 835.00 valid for 30 days. The equipment will be requested for immediate return authorization once payment has been received. Packaging and prepaid label will be provided as requested. The lease will be terminated without further penalty with receipt of the equipment.

Please let me know if there is anything further I can assist you with.

Respectfully,
