Review: I need a repair estimate for my Pitney Bowes folding machine.

I have a Pitney Bowes folding machine that is in need of maintenance and repair. I have a limited budget and need an estimate for the repair. After calling PB numerous times and receiving conflicting information from different representatives, the only information I can get is that it will be a minimum of $450, plus mileage and parts. They will not tell me where a technician would be coming from, so that I can estimate the mileage cost. I also know that I need a new roller, but they will not tell me the cost of the part. I did ask for a supervisor and was not able to get any additional help. When I asked for the supervisor's supervisor, I was told that there is no one above that person. There is no other resource for resolving issues directly through the company, so I am looking for you for help.

Desired Settlement: All I need is a reasonable estimate of the repair cost.

Dear Ms. Chaney,

I am in receipt of Revdex.com XXXXXXXX. Ms. [redacted] put in a Revdex.com complaint due to the lack of questions being answered and poor customer service. She needs to get her folding machine up and running.

[redacted], Customer Service Manager reached out to [redacted] and offered a resolution to her situation. It was agreed Pitney Bowes, Inc. will go on site for a cost of $450.00. Any associated mileage costs have been waived. A service call has been set up for Tuesday, May 28th to do cleaning, performance adjustments, replacement and/or part estimate for any part beyond the feed roller and separator pad. Two hours has been set aside to complete these tasks for [redacted]. If additional time and parts are needed, a customer service manager and [redacted] will discuss in detail before proceeding.

Pitney Bowes appreciates all of your information and feedback. This assists us in educating our staff to ensure we provide excellent Customer Service. I would like to apologize to [redacted] on behalf of Pitney Bowes for lack of service she received while contacting our call center.

Consumer Response /* (-5, 8, 2013/05/23) */

I would just like to thank the Revdex.com for the quick resolution to this problem. This is the first time I have used your service. I appreciate the ease with which we were able to resolve the complaint, as well as the quick response. Since I teach financial management, housing, and consumer information, it is great to know that your service, which I refer people to regularly is so excellent. This personal experience with provide a richer description when I am telling people about your organization. Thank you so much for your help!

I am locked into an inappropriately expensive lease for a piece of equipment that is far to large for my office with no ability to make changes for the duration of my 3 year lease without paying the remainder of the leasing payments plus an early cancellation fee that the customer service representative cannot calculate for me but it can be up to $275. Each time that I've had a question or issue I've waited forty-five minutes to an hour for online support and have been disconnected from the automated phone system repeatedly.
I pay more monthly in leasing costs than I spend in postage monthly, have very inflexible and antiquated options for adding postage to my account and have been given no options whatsoever to curb my dissatisfaction. I repeatedly asked if I could change my contract and recommit to a 3 year agreement with a more appropriate and flexible plan and was told repeatedly that I would have to pay all of the costs listed above. I am so frustrated that I am considering paying the insane costs just to be done with this company because I will certainly not be doing business with them again when this lease is up.
What is most frustrating is that I tried to use this logic with them and it was completely lost on the customer service staff reading from their predetermined list of responses. I am a business owner myself and I am sure that a satisfied lifetime customer is more valuable than the 12 remaining lease payments plus early cancellation fee that they are desperate to receive.
I'm likely going back to stamps...

Review: I rented a postage meter for several years. On 2/25/2015 I returned the meter and paid off my account. The meter was delivered to Pitney Bowes on 3/2/2015. Now they keep billing me for service as of 3/3/2015. I've called them an settled the matter on multiple occasions. I have at least one so-called confirmation number of [redacted] from a representative named [redacted]. I have the tracking number showing the meter was returned. Since then they've sent me another return label for the meter, and multiple invoices for service after the meter was returned. They assured me on multiple occasions that the account was paid off and cancelled. However I'm still receiving invoices indicating that I not only have an account and balance due but also a $500.00 credit limit. I should not have either because I am not a pitney bowes customer. It is difficult to call them, they are argumentative, they repeatedly end up verifying the return tracking number and saying they will cancel the account and remove the erroneous charges.Desired Settlement: terminate my account as of 3/2/2015, stop invoicing for service after 3/2/2015, as promised

Review: In Aug. 2013, Hamilton Cards got a 60 day free trial of a Pitney Bowes postage meter. The meter was returned to Pitney Bowes within the 60 day trial unused. Account no. is [redacted]68. We have been billed for usage to Dec. 2013, despite the fact that the meter was returned unused within the trial period, simply because we did not call the company in Oct. 2013.Desired Settlement: cancellation of bill

Review: The mail meter this municipality uses has been down for 4 days. Every day I receive a promise of service tomorrow, it's now going on 5 days and still no service only lip service telling me someone will call me and someone will be in to fix the meter, which never materializes. I was even told when I stated I would like to file a complaint that there was no one to file a complaint with. Therefore, I am filing my complaint with the Revdex.com. Thank you for being there for people like me who aren't able to have a larger voice.Desired Settlement: I would like Pitney Bowes to take a good look at their service department policies and realize there are other games in town for their services.

Review: I have been a customer with Pitney Bowes for several years. For over 5 yrs they have billed my business credit card account. Recently my card was compromised and I called Pitney Bowes to update them with my new credit card number so they could continue billing my credit card account. I recently received a past due notice from them under an account that I had not authorized to be opened. They failed to update my credit card information and began billing a purchase power account. This is an account that I had no idea existed and certainly never authorized them to open. When I became aware of this account and their actions, I immediately contacted them. I called on 7-22-2013 and they assured me that they would close this Purchase Power account and refund the late fees and charges to this account and bill the proper credit card. On 7-25-2013 I received a call from Purchase Power advising that my account had an overdue balance. I called them back and explained to them that I had already dealt with this on 7-22-2013 and was assured that the account would be closed an the charges would be erased. I provided them with the call reference number from 7-22-2013. At this time they again advised that they would close the account and cancel the charges and late fees. I am currently awaiting confirmation that this has been completed. I am very upset that they opened this account and charged it without my authorization. I am not pleased that this is business account and they used my personal information on the account so this open account would show up under my personal credit report.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like this looked into and the matter addressed with Pitney Bowes.

RE: Revdex.com # [redacted] LLC

[redacted] Rd

Rock Hill, SC [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Pitney Bowes is in receipt of Revdex.com complaint # [redacted]. Pitney Bowes understands the frustration of the customer Mr. [redacted] regarding his Purchase Power account.

On 6/3/13 Pitney Bowes was unsuccessful in charging [redacted] LLC's credit card for their monthly rental fee. Per Pitney Bowes policy, we do open our bill me service account called Purchase Power to bill [redacted] LLC for these charges. Purchase Power® is a "Bill me" service that enables Pitney Bowes clients to conveniently pay for postage, rental charges and shipping-related expenses on one consolidated account at a later date. [redacted] LLC will receive one monthly itemized statement for all transactions, and the option to pay the minimum amount, the full amount or something in between. Valuable reward points can also be earned for charging to the account and can be redeemed for free postage, supplies, gift cards and more. Pitney Bowes does send our Purchase Power terms and conditions with our client's first statement for review and do provide the alternative option of being direct billed if requested.

Pitney Bowes is currently in the process of crediting [redacted] LLC's Purchase Power account for rental invoice numbers[redacted] and [redacted] for a total of $14.98. I've credited [redacted] LLC Purchase Power account for the late fee assessed in July for $9.99. Once the credit for the rental invoice has been processed, [redacted] LLC will have a zero balance on Purchase Power which I have also closed.

Pitney Bowes will be rebilling [redacted] LLC for their June and July rental periods from the invoices above which will then be billed to [redacted] LLC's credit card on file.

Pitney Bowes appreciates all of your information and feedback. This assists us in educating our staff to ensure we provide excellent Customer Service.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

I really have not demanded anything except for the situation to be addressed or there is really is not anything to accept. I would have appreciated if they would take responsibility that they failed to process the new credit card I supplied them and failed to contact me advising there was an issue with processing the payment. They state on X-X-XXXX that they were unsuccessful in trying to bill my credit card. I called them over a month prior to that to give them the new credit card number because the one they had on file was stolen. They had been billing my credit card for over 5 yrs and there was never a problem before. I would hope if they had an issue someone would have contacted me personally before they billed an account that should not have been opened in the first place and not authorized by me to use. I never even received the purchase power receipt until it was already past due and late fees were applied. I would like Pitney Bowes to accept responsibility that they failed to enter my correct credit card an failed to provide quality customer service in notifying me that they were having issues processing my payment. I have been a loyal customer for too many years to have been treated like this.

Dear Ms. [redacted],

In response to the client's rebuttal, please review the attached invoice documents.

Pitney Bowes sent communication to [redacted] LLC regarding their declined credit card as shown on the attached documentation. Pitney Bowes policy for declined credit cards does not include contacting clients by phone or e-mail.

Unfortunately, Pitney Bowes has no account activity showing [redacted] LLC called in a month prior to our June invoicing so I cannot verify any communication with Pitney Bowes and [redacted] LLC.

Pitney Bowes apologize for the inconvenience of the incorrect billing of Purchase Power.

Review: PB Account Rep began calling us in January to ask if we planned to renew our contract. We said no and sent equipment back. Now getting bill for lease

There was a discrepancy in a past due bill. Pitney Bowes had a collection agency hounding us over $97. We did the research and found what we owed and paid the bill. The collection agency kept hounding us and we had to have our corporate office provide them with front and back copies of the checks that we submitted to them. In the meantime, an account representative with Pitney Bowes called in January 2013 to ask if we intended to renew our contract. We said no and told him about all of the collection calls. We told him the collection company had sent us a call tag to send the equipment back and I told him we intended to do that. We sent the equipment back. We are now being hounded by a new collection company LTD Financial for the remainder of the lease. We assumed when we said we were not renewing that our lease ended. They took the equipment back. We have received multiple calls and can't get this issue resolved.Desired Settlement: we would like to stop being harrassed by these collection companies. We sent the equipment back and never heard anything else from the account representative.

Dear Mrs. Chaney:

This letter is to advise you that we are in receipt of Revdex.com Complaint #XXXXXXXX and after researching we have determined that there have been 2 placements for this customer.

1-The customer had previous placement on Can XXXXXXXXXXX. That account was assigned to Caine & Weiner on 11/12/12. Caine & Weiner received copies of cancelled checks and funds were applied to the PBI placement. Placement was closed on 3/1/13 as paid in full.

2-Lease XXXXXXX-XXX, which is the subject of the Revdex.com Complaint, was charged off on 5/8/13 and assigned to LTD agency on 5/10/13. The customer advised that he was cancelling the lease as he went with competition and the lease is non-cancellable per the contract that he signed. The lease expiration date is 1/20/14, so the balance they owe to complete their contract is below.

The remaining balance on lease contract is $780.40.

$454.20 (unpaid 4/30/13 invoice)

+ $326.20 (6 remaining unbilled months @ $163.10/quarter)

$780.40 remains due on contract.

It was placed with LTD agency for reduced settlement of $515.48. Please advise the customer to remit the balance owed to the LTD Agency, [redacted] Southwest Freeway, Suite [redacted], Houston, TX XXXXX.

We have asked the agency to place on hold pending resolution.

If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

The center will work with LTD on the settlement, but still believes Pitney Bowes was inappropriate in their actions to renew a lease that had not been completed. There was not effective communication about what was happening and we would not have sent equipment back for which we were still obligated to pay. The center requires that Pitney Bowes send a letter stating that the final amount agreed upon with LTD be the last and final payment for any and all accounts related to Canterbury Center. This will require Pitney Bowes to do research to determine that there are no other accounts outstanding to ensure that we will not be receiving any future bills.

I would just like to advise that Pitney Bowes review their sales practices and be forthcoming with their clients to avoid such confusion.

Thank you.

Review: Our company has been trying to return our postage machine to Pitney Bowes for some time now. Apparently a former employee who was not authorized, agreed to continue the lease. We would like a copy of that lease. The other matter is the "credit card" [redacted] account. There has been a balance forward since prior to 2011 which we continue to be charged finance charges of 22% and late fee charges, close to 22% plus a number of other miscellaneous fees. In a 3 year period of purchasing $3,179.33 of postage and supplies, we have been charged $4,978.51 in related fees and charges! We would like to get this settled and closed. We have been making periodic payments but will never get this paid off when the late charges and finance charges keep accumulating. As others have complained, we have made many calls and talked to different parties but no one seems to have the authority to get this settled.Desired Settlement: We would like to get a copy of the lease #[redacted] to verify the signer and the contract terms. We do not use the machine and would like it picked up but if we are bound to pay the lease, we will keep the machine (but not use it).

More importantly, we would like to cancel the "[redacted]" credit card, account [redacted] and negotiate a reasonable settlement.

Review: In 2013, we returned a postage meter for account [redacted] for [redacted] Manufacturing. We received a credit statement showing they owed us $171.17. Despite requesting on multiple times to receive the refund, they ignore us. Then, two months ago, they turn that CREDIT balance for a RETURNED postage meter into a DEBIT balance instead of issuing us a credit. I tried calling them to get an explanation and get our refund, and after sitting on the telephone with them for 45 minutes, they hung up on me. Then they start sending me late fees and late fees. I send a letter to them asking for them to explain why they decided to not only keep my refund but also charge me more, and they do not answer. The last time I sent a letter to them demanding the refund or I would seek legal help. I sent the letter certified mail. You know what they did? They refunded ONE of the two months' late fees but STILL refuse to give me my refund!!! I am at a loss. I don't know what to do. I have other companies that also have pitney bowes machines, and I could short those companies by that $171.17, but I am horrified at how badly they would screw that situation up. Can you please help me get my $171.17 refunded to me?Desired Settlement: Send me my $171.17 as promised.

Review: We started out with a $27 per month promotional deal and when it ran out, our monthly bill jumped to $44. We got a notice that we could prevent future jumps in monthly bills by signing a lease. For some reason, we thought the lease was 12 months, but when we tried to cancel the lease, we found out it was a 39-month least. We asked what the penalty for cancelling the lease and we told, after repeated emails and phone calls went unanswered, that we must "fulfill" the lease.

We asked what is the penalty fee to terminate the least, they said the rest of the cost of the lease. This is truly absurd. I'm writing to Congressmen, the Revdex.com and the [redacted]. Review: I was contacted by my account representative, [redacted] from Pitney Bowes in January regarding our postage machine. She told me we could upgrade to a different machine and sign a new lease. Upon hearing that I questioned "We don't have a lease?" and was told no. I remember this clearly because I have been waiting for our contract to expire. I want to get postage from someone else because I am not happy with the customer service I have received from Pitney Bowes. I told the rep that was what I was planning to do. She asked if I would at least look at the new lease agreement which she forwarded. I shopped around and found a another company I wanted to do business with and went ahead with starting a new contract with that company. When I called Pitney Bowes to return the postage machine I was told there was still a contract in place. After several phone calls explaining I was misinformed and was misled I have gotten nowhere. I keep getting put back in touch with a [redacted]. My last phone call was to [redacted] a manager to [redacted] who told me there is no button to push that will terminate a lease agreement early. I contacted my account representative to ask about our initial call and was told she was no longer my rep and could not help me. [redacted] was my new rep. In September of 2010 I was contacted by a different representative and was told we needed to sign a new contract. The previous accounts payable person had signed the previous lease and I did not have a copy of it. I went ahead and signed a new lease. After a year went by I called unhappy and found out our lease agreement didn't renew/expire until September of 2011 NOT 2010. The person I talked to asked if I wished to terminate the lease and I said no. I wish I had taken that offer. Why was it ok to terminate a lease then because I was misinformed but its not ok now?Desired Settlement: I would like to have my agreement terminated early as I was misled by both account representative at two different times.

Review: I am a retired physician. I decided to retire at the end of 2011 and ended up seeing my last patient on May 31, 2013. I have had a Pitney Bowes postage meter for many years in at least 3 different offices. I believe that we were on our third meter (the company would periodically "upgrade" them). My office manager contacted Pitney Bowes in 2012 to find out how we could return the current machine. The representative told her that the lease was done as of October 31, 2013. That worked well for us since after May we were still mailing a lot of things. The representative also told us to "fill up" the machine via the fax machine before we turned off our fax service. In August 2013 we re-contacted Pitney Bowes and were told that we owed another $350.00 and they would not give us an address that we could mail the machine to. We have used up all the postage in the machine and turned off the fax line. The office hasn't been occupied by me since October and now has been sub-let. The machine is now in my basement. Now they say I owe $750. Any communication with them has been met with rude Pitney Bowes employees. I cannot believe that you give them an A+ rating when I have heard similar complaints from friends and colleagues. Please be advised that the office location was [redacted] - they address given was my home.Desired Settlement: I would like an address so that I can mail the machine to Pitney Bowes. I don't feel that I owe any money when their lies led to my actions. If they had originally said that the lease was up in 2014, I would have put more postage on the machine and used it at home. Currently it is of no use to me but my love of the environment prevents me throwing it in the landfill. I also think their rating needs to be downgraded to a D.

Review: I have been trying to fix this account since last fall. It gets fixed and then another quarter goes by and the bill keeps coming with new charges.

There was a change of ownership of the company in June 2012. The paperwork to change the account was sent to Pitney Bowes. The new owner was able to add postage and perform all postage functions but the billing for the rental was never corrected. The new owner and I have contacted Pitney Bowes and he has filled out new paperwork several times. Each time I go back after getting another quarter rental bill, after several different customer service associates, it "turns out that there is once again something missing in the paperwork. There is always a catch. It takes several hours each cycle. They are now billing late charges that are bigger than the quarterly rental charges! Outrageous attitude and no help what so ever. They are by far the most frustrating customer service entity I have dealt with.Desired Settlement: Reverse charges for rental of equipment and finance/late charges and cancel account. I explained to Ms. [redacted] that I was a new employee of [redacted] PC and wanted to know what our relationship was with Pitney Bowes. She explained to me that we always maintained a Lease with their company and that the current Lease expired on July 1, 2014. We had been operating off lease since that time. She further went on to say if we were to renew our lease she could give it to us at a discount rate, no refill service charge on stamps and a free envelope sealer. I agreed to continue our relationship as we always maintained and signed the renewal lease agreement.

March 10, 2015 I organized our records we kept with Pitney Bowes and discovered we did not have a copy of the Lease agreement that expired on July 1, 2014. I emailed the active lease department requesting a copy for our records.

March 30, 2015 I called Pitney Bowes and spoke with [redacted] she confirmed that we never had a Lease Agreement with their company. She further stated the best she could do is offer us a $1500.00 settlement to terminate the Lease. I explained to her the Lease is not valid due to the Falsification of information received by Ms. [redacted] in order to obtain a Lease agreement. She stated she would have the original recorded phone conversation pulled from January 27, 2015. I sent her via email a copy of the Cover Letter that Ms. [redacted] sent to me stating the renew lease agreement that confirmed my notes of our conversation which stated I was signing a Renew Lease Agreement not a New Agreement.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Contact has been made between myself and Pitney Bowes. We have come to a resolution per phone conversation on May 18th 2015.

Sincerely,

Review: I had signed a contract with Pitney Bowes for the lease of a postage meter for the fee of $19.95 a month. After the end of my contract I cancelled the service and returned the postage meter to them following their instructions. I had missed paying the rental fee for 6 months prior to cancelling the service, and had about $280 remaining in the meter. I requested that they deduct the unpaid rental fees from the $280 that I had in the meter and send me the remaining balance. Instead, they ignored my request and asked for me to pay the fees with no guarantee that they would refund to me any money that I had remaining in the meter, but I disagreed and insisted on getting a refund of my unused funds. They continued to send me statements adding exorbitant late fees every month to the original balance that should have been about $120 about three months ago. Their latest statement dating December 30, 2014 showed a balance of $392.17 !Desired Settlement: I should get a refund of the money that I had originally in the meter minus the regular rental fees that were contracted.

RE: Revdex.com # [redacted]

Dear [redacted]

Pitney Bowes is in receipt of Revdex.com complaint # [redacted]. Pitney Bowes understand the frustration of the client [redacted] in regards to the refund for unused postage left on the postage meter that was returned.

On October 20, 2014 the client called to cancel their Pitney Bowes meter rental account. On or about October 27, 2014 the client received a box, prepaid shipping label and instructions on how to deactivate and return the postage meter. As part of the postage meter rental program the client was entitled to free postage. On April 07, 2014 there was 2 (two) free postage transactions posted to the clients account; one for $240.00 and another for $180.00. On May 15, 2014 the client downloaded to the postage meter $420.00. On October 27, 2014, as part of the deactivation process the client removed $238.70 of unused postage from the postage meter. The $238.70 was the balance left of unused free postage.

When the client received their free postage promotion; they received an email with the redemption codes. As part of that email it is stated in part “…These codes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash” (see attached sample of that email). Because all unused funds left on the postage meter was for free postage, these funds are not redeemable to refund nor can be used for unpaid invoices.

The client states in their complaint “I had missed paying the rental fee for 6 months prior to cancelling the service…” The client continues to be assessed late fees and finance charges due to those invoices going unpaid. I have also attached the unpaid invoices.

In summary; the invoices are outstanding and the client is required to pay them. The $238.70 of unused funds was free postage and will not be refunded.

Pitney Bowes appreciates all of your information and feedback. This assists us in educating our staff to ensure we provide Excellent Customer Service.

Respectfully yours,

Case Manager – Client Experience

Review: I am closing a law business and Pitney Bowes is claiming that under their contract they are permitted to charge out the remainder of the contract term and to charge additional cancellation fees and taxes and service charges before they will even tell an address of where to return the postage meter to. They claim that in order to send it back, I have to pay a total amount of $534.34 under the contract; they are going to send me an "anti-breach letter" and then charge over a $100 to insure the machine by them and won't even allow the post office to insure the machine. I have been on the phone for almost 2 hours now with them and am still on hold currently (and have been on hold for 10 minutes) trying to speak to a supervisor in their cancellation department. This company uses predatory contract practices and holds customers hostage under the terms of their contract.Desired Settlement: of the contract amount credited to the contract itself and they pay to have the postage meter sen back to them without any insurance to be paid by me to their company.
