We were approached at BJ's wholesale club by a salesman for the company offering a free quote on roofing, along with a 10% coupon for any work done, it would only take a few minutes of time for them to give us a quote We know we may need a new roof in a few years, the gentleman said it was no obligation, and the quote would be good for years We were put on the phone to their office I presume to schedule an estimate hours latersales people showed up, they requested my wife be there also, they only needed minutes of her time, this was at 4pm They had me walk them around the house, then went into the sales pitch, covering what products they used, pulled up maps showing jobs they had done in the last few years nearby, compared the prices of our home to what other roofing companies that they deemed comparable They went out on a ladder and examined the roof Our home is almost years old, the issues they pointed out have been there for the years we have owned the home, they made sure to express several times that our roof would not survive one season in the condition it is inThey were hard selling their company They pointed out that with their company they expected to have to replace square feet of wood and it would be included in the price, he was allowing for an additional square feet, about half the roof When working up numbers the square footage number suddenly became square feet at $per foot, and along the way $worth of gutters found their way into the equation because of the special drip edge they used The end number was over $25,for a square foot roof When we said that was higher than we thought and we would have to think about it, they went out for a few minutes, and came back with great news, if we let them take before and after photos, all of the replacement wood would be covered and they could reduce the price to $19, But we had to decide right then and there, if they left, the deal was off We told them it was something we would have to consider and after hours they finally leftChecking online I see hundreds of complaints, the fact they use the A+ Revdex.com rating in their sales pitch is flawed when you see how many complaints they have even hereWould never use them for any projects after the high pressure sales tactics salesmen that have probably never put a roof on a home to work up an estimate that could have been done in minutes? I feel for anyone that has fallen prey to them

The
Agreement dated 8/14/is void under The Contractor’s Right to Cancel as a
result of incorrect pricing. Since you
decided not to move forward with the additional project at the correct price, we cannot offer you the 5.9%
finance rate. The discounted rate is
offered through the lender. Please see
the attached Agreement Amendment, dated 8/16/14. It was mailed and emailed to you by the Project
Expediter, Matt C***, on 8/18/14. Matt
C*** also spoke with you (and/or your husband) on the phone that same day. He explained that since you decided not to
move forward with the new project at the correct pricing, the interest rate
would revert to the original 7.9% as outlined in the original Agreement dated
6/28/
Power
does not offer a warranty on the *** thermostat. This warranty is offered through the
manufacturer, hence the manufacturer sending the new unit to you at no
charge. Power only assumes financial
responsibility when the issue falls within the Power Labor Warranty, which this
does not, since Power does not offer the warranty on the *** thermostat. As stated in the document you sent along with
your rejection, Power makes all of it’s warranties available online at: www.totalcareinstalls.com

It is possible that this company does great work, but we never got that farWe were impressed by their presentation - and boy do they do a great sales jobThey also gave the house a really thorough look - also impressiveLots of photos and detailsThey gave us two prices for a comprehensive roofing system, one if we signed immediately (30,000) and another if we did not (35,000)They went out of the room and we talkedAfter being assured the price included absolutely everything except rotten wood, we shook handsThen a couple days later the project manager came out and said we had to pay to have solar panels removed and replaced and that was our responsibility ($1500, we found out, after a morning calling around to find someone, since they couldn't even recommend anyone to call)WhoaWe felt released from the contract, went with another contractor that offered
the same products and guarantee for half the price, and canceled within the legal limitThen the salesman came back and tried to guilt trip us, telling us we were not people of our word, they had already ordered the materials, and they would pay for the solar workHe just kept going like that until we stopped being polite and told him to leaveI don't appreciate the pressure of the two-price system in the first place and I particularly do not appreciate being called dishonest when we were reacting to an unexpected surprise that was not well handled by the companyThe solar panels were clearly visible on the satellite photo they showed usMaybe they do great work and their system is as unique and incomparable as they say, but if you want to check them out, I'd strongly advise that you talk to them LAST after you've talked to some others recommended by the people who make their products (GAF) so you are better able to decide if they are worth it***

PHRG's Regional VP met with the homeowners on 7/16/16. He performed the same heat-lamp demonstration the homeowners saw at the point of sale and the results were the same. The area in question was formerly a porch that was closed in and made into a living areaThe construction was done
before the Mr and Mrs owned the home. There was also a large tree that used to provide shade to this area of the house that is no longer there. There is no central air. They use this as their primary sitting room. They discussed options for cooling the room, including installing blinds or a portable AC unit. The homeowners agreed that PHRG did not use deceptive sales practices and this was not a case of bait and switch. They are pleased with the final project and agreed to resolve the complaint as closed

I am sorry to hear you are
still unsatisfied with the performance of your gutters and gutter
protection. As you know, our Field Service
Manager arrived at the property as scheduled on 10/29/ He inspected
the gutter, gutter protection, soffit and fascia He also inspected the
drip edge extension that was previously installed as a courtesy, at no
additional charge All components were installed according to
manufacturing and VSI specifications
The
gutters and gutter protection are pitched correctly with the proper slope
The gutter protection prevents debris from getting into the gutter by
allowing the debris to wash over the lip of the gutter A reasonable
amount of water should be expected to wash over the lip of the gutter as it
washes away the debris. After a water
test, the Field Service Manager determined the system is working as designed
Most of the water collects in the gutter and the minor water dripping
over the lip of the gutter is not a call for concern After all, during a
natural rainstorm everything around the gutters will be wet too
If
you would like us to remove the gutter protection in this area, please let me

I am rejecting this response because:
I have documentation that shows a precedence of the window having leaked since 2003--way before the siding and roof were replacedFor PowermWindows to place total blame on the siding and roofing for its lack of customer service is a disgrace to the industryPower Windows' continuance to replace the glass many times shows its acceptance of a leak having occurredThe leak DID NOT just happen to this window; it has been a continuing nuisance since installation and it is the reason why Power Windows has not performed any other services on my home!
The manufacturer of the window did a review in and agreed it was leaking and requested repairThey also requested additional repairs to be made to the dining room wall as well due to leakage In my world occured way before 2010, the year the siding was replaced If the leak initially started in 2010, I would not be writing this rejective response, and I would certainly take ownership of the leakage perhaps coming from the installation of the siding
To address your offer of a discount on the installation of a new window to be installed by Power Windows, I say what an insult to injury The window in question has leaked since it was installed by Power Windows, and Power Windows did nothing for years but continually put bandaids on the situation--the latest one in February of this year with a new piece of glassTo say without a doubt that my having new siding installed in is the reason for the rotted window seat only shows arrogance and ignorance on the part of Power Windows, along with its total lack of customer service.
