I go up on the roof to see why the attic fan is suddenly leaking and look, someone pulled up the flangei fix it and chalk it up to dishonest stupid people(that part of the roof is on a different level from where we were and we would not have heard someone on the roofthe dogs may have, but we figured they were barking at him being outside)oh, but it doesn't end therethey call memultiple times a week on my home phonethey don't leave a message but the caller id is the same #, no nametoday, I decide to answer it and see who is harassing usit's the scheduler from power remodeling! I tell him that we already got the gutters done, it was weeks since the last "estimate" attempt with themThen I tell him why I would never recommend them to anyone, let alone ever hire themThe guy listens politely but when I get to the part where they may or may not have sabotaged my roof, he puts me on hold without saying anythingi guess that's even more rude than hanging up on me, since it wasted more of my timeso be forewarned, NEVER even bother with this place, they will try to oversell and up-sell you, then harass you when they act unprofessional and dishonestI have had numerous estimates done for houses I have owned and this truly is the only one that actually made me this frustratedmost professionals are in-out-estimate-followup call-donethat's how professionals do it

After Power Remodeling Group installed a patio door, I had an issue with the door leakingIt was evident that the leak was due to a factory defectWhat I can share with you is this, I was impressed by Power Home Modeling Groups very quick response to address the problem and the same with their quick turn around time frame to correct the conditionThe night that I discovered the leak, I immediately called customer service and my complaint was taken very seriously and prioritizedThey responded the very next day to temporarily remedy the situation until a new replacement door arrivedAfter the new door was installed, customer service representatives followed up with several phone calls to make sure that there was no issues with the the new doorWhat I do read a lot about are negative reports concerning sale representatives with aggressive sales pitch I don't agree with the strong approach and the pressure to sign a contract that comes as well, but I can say from personal experience is that Power is not aloneThere are other companies that do exactly the same, such as Anderson replacement windowsWhile exploring other companies, I entertained the same aggressive sales pitch and also felt the pressure to buy from them as well

I am rejecting this response because:
I have documentation that shows a precedence of the window having leaked since 2003--way before the siding and roof were replacedFor PowermWindows to place total blame on the siding and roofing for its lack of customer service is a disgrace to the industryPower Windows' continuance to replace the glass many times shows its acceptance of a leak having occurredThe leak DID NOT just happen to this window; it has been a continuing nuisance since installation and it is the reason why Power Windows has not performed any other services on my home! The manufacturer of the window did a review in and agreed it was leaking and requested repairThey also requested additional repairs to be made to the dining room wall as well due to leakage In my world occured way before 2010, the year the siding was replaced If the leak initially started in 2010, I would not be writing this rejective response, and I would certainly take ownership of the leakage perhaps coming from the installation of the siding To address your offer of a discount on the installation of a new window to be installed by Power Windows, I say what an insult to injury The window in question has leaked since it was installed by Power Windows, and Power Windows did nothing for years but continually put bandaids on the situation--the latest one in February of this year with a new piece of glassTo say without a doubt that my having new siding installed in is the reason for the rotted window seat only shows arrogance and ignorance on the part of Power Windows, along with its total lack of customer service.

Dear *** ***
Thank you for taking the time to provide your
feedback. I would like to apologize for
the inconvenience we caused you. I
understand how difficult it is to organize your busy schedule to be available
for an estimate on a home improvement.
Among the things that we require to provide an estimate are that all the
homeowners, decision makers, and involved parties are present to get the
information. It is not to force a sale,
like the case may seem. We do that to
put ourselves in the best position to earn your future business by ensuring
that we’ve done everything in our power to educate you on the industry, the
products, our company, and the investment that is involved. Without speaking to everyone, we have no
opportunity to do that and only invite the chance of miscommunication or the need
to visit each home multiple times. We’ve
been in business for over years, and have found that our customers, and
potential customers, are happiest in the end when they’ve received all the
information they need before getting involved with a home improvement project
We apologize
that your experience was less than gratifying and give assurance that you will
not hear from us again. Hopefully this
will help to absolve our company of any wrongdoing. If there is anything
else I can do to assist, please contact me directly
Respectfully,
Eamon

Revdex.comPLEASE READ THIS
I didn't want to get involved too much here, but since this company was very flashy with their "customer" reviews and awards from the Revdex.com and other places, I felt it was important to let other people know about this companyLook them up on Yelp and you'll see a pattern of what I experiencedYou wouldn't think you need to research a company before getting a free estimate, but I know better than that nowThis company's Salesmen are very coerciveThe use scare tactics to make you buy their products saying things like "your roof needed to be done yesterday" and "you need to protect your family." The truth is, I know my roof will need to be redone within a few years and I know my attic has a few problemsThat's why I agree to the free estimate from the door to door "my company is doing work in your area and I was stopping by to see if you want a free estimate" guyI have an older houseBut my roof is still solidI have been in my attic and I have walked on my roofAnd I have seen roofs that needed to be done ASAPMine is not one of themBut the salesman made it sound like if I didn't get this taken care of within a month my family's safety was at riskHe pulled every salesman trick in the bookI caught on to most of them right awayAfter dragging out the "estimate" process for over 1/hours, he made me doubt myself about my roof, and as others have said, gave me estimates, one if I sign a contract immediately, and one that was $more that was good for a yearHe was telling me I needed to get my roof done before the end of the summer; that it might last another winter, but that's itHe told me it was going to cost me almost $20,to fix my roofI told him I needed to think about itThat piece of mind that I was making the right decision was more important to me than the extra costThat I needed a few days to think about it and I needed to know I was making the right decision before I signed a piece of paperBut he wouldn't take "no" for an answerHe was insisting I sign today because he wanted to "help me out" and make sure I got the dealHe even lowered the price a little more saying, "he would give me a special discount if I let him use the pictures he took of my house."
I am embarrassed to say, they almost got meI almost signed and after doing some research, I am so glad I didn'tIt's always important to do your research before making a $20,decision, and in my opinion, the reason why they want you to sign immediately is so that you make an uninformed decisionMany of my problems with my attic/roof are common, but in my case, not severeI feel the products and work this company does are probably goodBut, in my opinion, still I feel like they are a scam for the following reasons:
- They perform an "inspection" and seem to make things seem worse than they are telling their customers they need immediate work done- Their products and service seems overpriced- There was a $difference between signing immediately and waiting even one day to think about itThere is no reason for this except to pressure me into making an immediate decisionHere are a few things they did that let me know they were setting me up for a scam:
- The salesman spent a long time trying to build a friendship with me before he did anything else to a point that I had to redirect him as to why he was thereI know, salesmanship, he was trying to build trustBut he didn't even know if I needed his services yet- He spent minutes or more going over how great his company was and even more time about the products they sell, before he did the "inspection." Why invest so much time, unless you know you’re going to try to sell me somethingThat's a waste of his time as much as it is mine if I don't need anythingWhen we looked at the outside of the house he agreed with me that the roof looked like it could last a few more yearsIt wasn't until he went into my attic that he said there was a "serious" problemIt seemed like the whole thing was a hour long setup- I knew someone before this inspection who just had their roof doneThere roof was way more complicated than mine and had so many more problems, it did actually need to be done ASAPThere contractors did a really good job and they only paid $So why was mine $20,000? Even if their products are a little better, they are not more than two, maybe even three times, the cost betterI know I wrote a lot hereMore than I planned onI don’t want an apology from the companyAfter reading other yelp reviews, I know what happened to me was standard practice for this companySome other states have even lower Yelp reviews than mine for the same reasonsI just want other people to know about this company and how they practiceI’m not the only one this has happened tooI do not want this company to try to contact meThe Revdex.com may if they have any questions, but this experience was very upsetting and I don't want to be reminded of it or to have them try to "fix it," or try to sell me anything elseI just want the Revdex.com and other customers to know about my experience in order to protect themselves, and that my experience matches the experiences of many other people, at least according yelp customer reviews from multiple locations

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear ***
I am both surprised and delighted that you have chosen to reply to my complaint and my challenges with your businessAs the Director of Warranty Services with PHRG, I am positive that most of your day is spent fixing the issues that PHRG createsSo for you to have the time to read and reply to my issues, that sir, is out***dingFirst, I have read our agreement on multiple occasionsUnfortunately, I did not review it carefully enough after our initial hour sales presentationI should haveWhen your salesman and I shook hands, I thought I was being sold windows and doorThat's what he told me when I signed your contractThat's what he told me when I reviewed product brochuresThat's what he told me when I picked out a style of door and window for the doorThat's what we shook on when he walked outThat's what my family and I believed we were gettingI was wrongOn Friday March 7, PHRG called my home to make sure our second in home estimate or PII would occur as scheduled on Tuesday March 11, I informed a caller named *** that it wouldI also informed her that I had reviewed our contract and could not find our door in itI was told that our PII manager would be able to handle our issue and to wait for himHere was our first sign of troubleOn Tuesday March at approximately 1pm a manager from PHRG named *** arrived at my home I informed him of the issue of the door not being included in our contract agreementHe informed me that he would be making a call after re doing some measurements and asked that I waitI gave him the okayHe proceeded to remeasure all the windows inside my immediate homeHe reviewed the agreement and could not find the doorHe then entered information into his computer, called his corporate office and abruptly told me that the initial salesman had made a mistake......no kidding you sayHe did not include the door and incorrectly classified the removal of my existing windows and now the company would have charge me an additional $because of his mistakesI rejected thatI believe that the additional cost of $that was being added was due to the mistake of not including the door in the initial agreement*** told the corporate office that I rejected the additional chargeHe informed the corporate office over the phone that there had been a mistake and the door was not on the agreement*** hung up and told me that either someone from corporate or my initial salesman would be in contact about the doorHere is the next sign of trouble, it's called passing the buckNo one from PHRG takes initiative nor responsibilityI never received a call from corporate nor the salesmanI called the corporate office at the end of March to speak with ***I was told he was longer with the companyGreat, now no one knows and I have to start all over againAt this point, I was frustrated and very unhappy with the proceedingsAgain, another sign of troubleOn Thursday April 17, 2014, we received a phone message reminding us that we were scheduled for install on April On Monday April PHRG showed up at 10:amThe installers name was ***I informed *** about my door issueI told him exactly what occurred priorI told him I was told it was included in my contract but I could not find it in the documentHere's where it gets better*** informed me that he is not an employee of PHRG and could not helpThe two other laborers are in fact, his employeesHe is a sub contractorI was told that if I wanted a door I needed to speak with ***Great, another guy to talk too who won't know anything*** calls my home approximately minutes laterHe proceeds to try and sell me a doorI told him it's in my contract but not in the document*** says *** needs to call meWonderful, yet another person to speak with?
*** calls an hour afterwards*** cannot find a door in my contractNo kidding ***, I've been saying this for over a month*** says a quality assurance manager must interveneHe will send one that eveningAwesome, another guy!
*** *** arrives at my home on Monday April at 7pmHe tells me that *** has sent him there to sell me a doorReally? How many times and how many different employees of PHRG do I have to speak to get resolution? Frankly, I think it will never be enough*** has no idea why he is in my homeNo one grips the situationHere it is one last time ***......I was sold a doorI cannot find it in my contractWhy did this happen and what should I expect from your company?
Well, *** is at a loss for wordsHe cannot helpHe deals in warranty, not operationsHe is sorry and will email *** *** in regards to the situationHe is however, the first employee to apologize for the issueHe even tells me that if I was sold a door and the salesman fesses up, I could reasonably assume that they would install itFinally, someone recognizes the problem and apologizesHowever, I have to deal with employee at this timeThe next morning, I was still infuriated with the issueI called *** *** and left a messageI called *** again an hour later*** discussed the timeline of events with me*** told me that there was no door in my contract and that they would not install itI asked him to think about it for awhile and get back to me*** called back and told me that a door could be installed for $I rejected the offerWow, thanks fellasSo, there you have it ***That's how it went down.
Frankly, I do not blame your employeesI blame the upper management staff like yourselfThis is exactly what you can expect from a company which is top line drivenYou drive sales and try to hit numbersYou are managers, you are not leadersPeople, customers and employees, are a renewable asset in your companyI would only have to take a look at your employee retention rate to see thatFinally, you are scheduled to be in my home again to review some installation issues that *** *** found during his inspectionHe took pictures and notified me of these concernsHe invited me to check the windows for issues after finding some for himselfI have found multiple issues*** found two windows with deep razor blade cuts in themThose are the our first two issuesHere are the remaining:
Scratched existing jam in master bedroom RHSCracked existing window frame in boys room RHS
Separated drywall below window in boys room
Dropped foam window insulation on oriental rug in tv room
***, I have had a horrific experience with PHRGYour employees have lied or misled me on multiple occasionsNo one takes responsibility and everyone blames the next guyYou sold me a bill of goods and delivered anotherYou have been nothing but trouble to deal with and I feel as though you this experience will not even begin to mark change in your business dealingsI paid by credit cardI have informed my credit card company to hold payment until the installation issues are correctedI cannot trust that if I pay you, you will return to cureThis is your doing, not mineI mean, you cannot even live up to an expectation of doing what you will say you will doThanks and I hope you find more time to do other things for PHRG other than warranties and claimsRegards,

Dissatisfied with their door to door solicitors, one of them did not follow Fairfax County solicitation lawsFairfax County has ordinances that require solicitors to be licensed and follow certain laws, specifically if a "NO SOLICITORS" sign is posted they are not allowed to solicitOn March 6th, at 12:pm, a solicitor named Devon, or Davon, knocked and rang my door bellI answered, noticed he was wearing the typical "Power Home Remodeling" bright yellow shirtI said hello, and once he stated he was looking at my roof and they were offeringI told him I was not trying to be rude but no solicitors are allowed, I have a "NO SOLICITORS" sign posted 1" away from the door bell, and pointed to itHe stated with an attitude "We are offering no obligation quotes, that is not soliciting." Then we started to walk across my lawn to my neighborsI stated that "that is not how it works, that is called soliciting."
Power Home Remodeling needs to train their solicitors to follow the laws as written, hopefully the do not train them to be deceitful and lie this is not a good business practiceHopefully this is an issue only with "Devon" or "Davon" and not a business wide sales tactic

I have been harassed by Power Home Rrmodeljng Group for monthsI have asked three times to be removed from all of their advertising lists, but they keep calling me and coming to my doorThey are pushy, slimy in their sales tactics, and obsessive in their pursuitI regret ever opening the door for one of their salesman six months agoIf they come to my door or call me one more time, I will need to call the police

Don't let this company in your home! Guy was here for 1/hours to give us a quote of 4k a month for Windows and sidingWhen we said we needed to thin about it, the kind way of saying get out, he was extremely rude telling us that everyone knows how much they can affordThen he tried to convince us with other quotes cutting certain things outThe sales pitch is full of lies, because many other companies offer what they tell you they only haveI wish I had never requested a quoteNeedless to say, other companies came in at fractions if that priceIf nothing else it has given many people a good laugh

An estimator from this company came to assess my windowsHe drove the tip of his pen through the wood of my picture window frame in the front of my houseThe company scheduled the warranty department to come fix it twice and missed both appointments
