From: [redacted] <[redacted].[redacted]>Date: Tue, Sep 12, 2017 at 2:41 PMSubject: RE: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania in regards to your complaint #[redacted].To: Revdex.com <[email protected]>The company sent someone...

out to look at the gutters and clean them, they communicated that the gutters were installed correctly, but it is not the answer to my problem with the trees and acorns that hit my room. They cleaned the roof, and promised to send someone out when it needs to be cleaned again.  That is not a part of what they do but because my sales person promised it they will fulfill the promise.  I am satisfied with the resolution. The inspector that they sent out was very courteous and professional, and did a good job with cleaning the gutters and cleaned the yard as much as he could afterwards.  [redacted]

February 12, 2018Dear [redacted]:Thank you for taking the time to write to us. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter. on your credit, nor have we applied for third party financing on your behalf. No sensitive information was given to [redacted] by Power – only your name and address. However, the opt-out process requires certain personal information in order for [redacted] to ensure they are opting out the correct individual. This information is held in strict privacy and is not shared with us or any other institution. Please see [redacted]’s privacy policy for more information. The piece of mail you received regarding financing is no different than the pre-approved credit card offers you routinely receive in the mail. For individuals who do not wish to receive these offers, [redacted] allows for an opt out. You should also be aware that prescreened offers can provide many benefits. In fact, some of these pre-approved products carry more favorable rates than those available to the general public. We have flagged your records in our database to prevent future calls from anyone in our company. We apologize for the inconvenience and give assurance that we will do our best to make sure that you do not hear from us again. Hopefully this will help to absolve our company of any wrongdoing. BEWARE- DON'T LET THIS COMPANY INTO YOUR HOUSE UNLESS YOU HAVE TONS OF TIME AND TONS OF MONEY. This review is based on sales pitch only. This was high pressure sales tactics presentation to get FREE ESTIMATE that lasted for 7:30 pm (May 31) till 1 am the next day (June 1) – more than 5 hours! Might I just say that time is not free, so this time is certainly not considered a 'free' estimate by my standards.
We've been thinking about a new roof for a while but hadn't started any research on prices, local companies, financing, etc yet, so we figured why not start by seeing how much this could potentially cost us so we have some numbers for the bank?
Our exchange with Power started when someone (sales representative H[redacted] M[redacted]/Remodeling consultant from Rosemont, IL office) knocked on our door in the evening of May 31. We didn’t yet consulted with other companies to get free estimates. Hunter went to the attic and made a few pictures of the problematic areas that he showed us and explained how to fix the problems and which materials would be suggestible to use.
After many boring hours he finally gets around to prices. He started off by providing hypothetical quotes from S[redacted], then H[redacted] Depot, then somebody else, then some other company, and another. All of these prices are ranging from $30,000 to $60,000!
Then, we finally get to Power's estimate; $24,000 for a 1,800 square foot roof. But wait, there's more! That $24,000 is only good if we signed contract on the dotted line tonight! If the sales representative walks out the door, then the price goes up a few thousands more! What a joke. We refused even to discuss this roof project. But after he gave us lengthy presentation about Solar Eclipse product that could be applied to the attic to improve the situation with overheated space there and quoted us price of almost $5.5K we started to discuss this option.
I want to warn other homeowners that this POWER company will offer you a 'FIRST VISIT PRICE' that is only available if you sign at the end of the free estimate appointment - leaving you no time to consider your options. The sales pitch went VERY LOOONG. This guy didn't end up leaving until we signed contract (# 32-01619) for the Attic insulation job (1,800 sq. ft.) by using Solar Eclipse Radiant Barrier at the price of $5,431.27 (exorbitant number as we learned by research performed the next day)!
When he asked after lengthy presentation ‘Would you like to sign the contract?’ I said 'Give us a week to think about it, and to consult other companies to get free estimates but keep the offer at the price you're quoting us now' and he said 'I don't make the rules, I can't do that.'
I then explained that he came to us to give free estimate and we didn't have time to do our own research on the subject or consult with other professionals, and that it would be foolish for us or anyone to agree to sign on for that much money with no other knowledge on roofing or attic insulation job and without consulting other competitors. This "discount" proved to be no more than a ploy so they could be the first ones out, to quote us a ridiculously high price and pressure us into signing on with them.
I also asked why they would only offer that price on the first visit, and he said it was because of the sales efficiency model he had previously explained to us about making fewer sales visits. Very clever, Power, you've got all your bases covered.
I also directly asked, 'Suppose we say YES right now? If we decided to back out tomorrow would we be able to do it using the WI clause allowing 3 business day to cancel the contract?’ He told me that if I'm asking that, then we shouldn't sign on because it means I'm not confident in the company or the product, and that he didn't do his job. (Really? You're guilt tripping me?)
Then I and my husband decided to sign the contract to lock into their ‘discounted price given only during the 1st presentation’, knowing that we can cancel this contract by law during the first 3 business days (based on our informed opinion after researching about the subject the next day).
We made our research and decided to CANCEL the contract in the evening of the same day June 1. I called the # 888-736-6335 (written on the contract) and spoke with representative about cancellation of the contract but operator said we need to call in the morning of June 2. So, we both called on June 2 and spoke with different representatives, telling them that we want to cancel the contract.
My husband than called one more time to be sure that the contract is cancelled and spoke with Nick who said that ‘Don’t worry, your contract is cancelled”. Then my husband got a call from other representative who said that we will need to sign their document to finalize cancellation of the contract and the guy will come to us Tuesday June 7 at 8 pm to get our signatures. WHAT A HASSLE!
My husband offered them instead to send us attached document by email to be signed so we could print it, sign, scan into computer and email to Power their signed document. The representative refused to do this and required us to proceed with his option.
The whole experience is very odd and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Most of all, I think it's terribly inconsiderate to the point of cruelty that this company wouldn't train it's salespeople to have mercy and lighten up on the presentation time and brutal sales, plus difficulties with canceling contract by requiring new meeting with representative who wants to c[redacted]ect our signatures in person instead of using available technology making things more difficult.
This company totally ruined our night and wasted our precious time!
Fellow homeowners - be weary of anyone who tries to sell to you like this! If it doesn't feel right, don't do it. SHAME ON YOU, POWER HOME REMODELING GROUP!
A general building contractor should NEVER pressure anyone during the sales or estimate process, stick to only what the client wants to be done or expressed a wish to get an estimate on, and give them things they request including other customer references without a hassle.
So, based on our awful experience with POWER high pressure sales tactics I would like to recommend homeowners the f[redacted]owing:
PLEASE, DO NOT ALLOW SALES REPS FROM 'POWER' TO PROVIDE YOU WITH AN ESTIMATE OF ANY KIND! This company is a total scam. I should report them to Customer Protection Agency for their illegal and dishonest business practices! Run Away as Fast as you Can! But if you have a lot of money and time to blow, then this is your company!
Run, don't walk from this company. I'm sure they have the means to do great work, but their hard sell, invasive tactics and astronomically high price estimates will never get my business after I got an informed opinion from other contractors. I don't care how amazing their product is, because there are other amazing products on the market. Power was a complete waste of our precious time.
Original signed contract # 32-01619 was signed on June 1, 2016 and we tried to cancel it by calling POWER on June 2 (read explanation inside the letter). The contract only lists the phone number of the company, address and website. They didn't provided the email where we can send signed cancelled form.I would suggest the company to utilize the latest available technology and providing their email address to the customers who may want to cancel the contract by simply emailing signed cancellation document by scanning it into the computer and attaching this file to the email sent to 'Power'.

Dear [redacted]Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience.  As previously discussed with your Project Manger, the installation of the new entry door does not include drywall work or painting the surrounding walls.  Photos of the finished installation compared with photos...

taken during the service appointment on 8/1/17 indicate someone has tampered with the casing around the door.  The labor warranty does not cover removal, repair, or re-installation of any installed products or components by anyone other than Power.  The touch-up paint was left as a courtesy after it was determined there were no installation errors.  Power’s Master Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty can be found at powerwarranties.com.   Please contact us directly if you have any further questions.  Respectfully, Eamon L[redacted]Warranty Service DirectorPower Home Remodeling O: [redacted]PowerHRG.com

Dear Mr.
[redacted],
I am
sorry to hear that you are still unsatisfied with your remodeling
experience.
On
8/27/14, I spoke with you over the phone.
During the conversation we agreed on a substantial price reduction and Power
HRG offered to reimburse the amount you were seeking for the veterinary
bills.  Acknowledging I was not present
at the point of sale, I could not validate the legitimacy of your claims
surrounding the interest rate and the total sale price.  It was for this reason I offered the discount
you were requesting.  The discount was
offered as a concrete token of our wiliness to make amends for something you
believed we did wrong.  I followed up on
our conversation in writing with a response letter outlining the discounts.  At that time, you found this resolution
acceptable.
Though
you may disagree, Power HRG does not teach, promote or encourage deceptive
sales tactics.  This type of behavior is
simply not tolerated.  All of the
individuals you have contacted at Power HRG regarding this matter have taken
the time to explain to you the details of both the project and the financial
arrangements.  There have been no
instances of ‘double-speak,’ as the terms outlined in the Remodeling Agreement
and finance documents are nonnegotiable and cannot be disputed.
I am truly
sorry for your experience.   Please
contact me directly if you would like to discuss further.
Respectfully,

Dear [redacted],

As you know, we spoke earlier
today and you refused my offer of a full refund for the purchase price of the
gutter guards.  I also offered to remove
the gutter guards that have been installed on your home for over a year.  Power HRG cannot reasonably be expected to
give a full refund as well as provide additional compensation for you to have
gutter guards installed by another company.
Please reconsider our offer for a full refund of the gutter guards and
free removal.  I can be reached via the information
noted below.

Dear [redacted],
First and foremost, thank you for
taking the time to write about your experience.
Valuable input and feedback from homeowners like you help eliminate
these types of issues in the future.  I
apologize that our interactions have caused undue stress and aggravation to you
and your family.  I have reviewed your
complaint and personally look into the matter.

follows; add your property to our Do Not Knock (DNK) list, flag your records in
our database to prevent future calls from anyone in the company, remove the
number from the predictive dialer, and post the number to our own internal Do Not
Call (DNC) list, which prevents it from loading into the dialer system again.
I apologize for the manner in
which your wife was approached.  I assure
you that this issue will be handled directly with the individuals involved.  Power HRG does not coach, teach or tolerate
deceptive sales or marketing practices.
The Revdex.com rating
is based off of several factors explained here: http://www.Revdex.com.org/council/overview-of-Revdex.com-grade/.  As you can
see, the rating is not merely based on the type or quantity of complaints, but
other factors as well.
Along with our A+ rating with the Revdex.com, for the second consecutive year, we were placed on the Selling
Power Magazine “50 Best Companies to Sell For” list. With a ranking of
#15 this year, we achieved better results than Google, Microsoft and Xerox
among others. Requirements for this award included a focus on hiring,
reputation, customer growth, sales training and employee recognition. The award
also focused on our culture and firm belief that our people are the key to our
success.
Additionally,
for the fifth consecutive year, we were placed on the Inc. 5000 list
of “Fastest Growing Companies in America". Usually reserved for smaller
start up companies that show unprecedented growth early in their history, it is
a remarkable achievement for a company in their 22nd year of business to be
recognized for substantial year over year growth five consecutive times.
I
can honestly assure you that we do honor our promises, abide by local laws and
are constantly working to improve our practices, policies and procedures.  Without doing so, we would not have achieved
the level of success we’ve reached today.
We apologize for the
inconvenience and give assurance that we will do our best to make sure you will
not hear from us again.  Hopefully this
will help to absolve our company of any wrongdoing.  If there is anything
else I can do to assist, please contact me directly via the information noted
