Power Home Remodeling Group Reviews (609)

Its 7:15 at night, we just finished dinner and the doorbell rings. The dogs start barking, kids start crying, and I get up from the couch to find out who would be so rude to ring our doorbell at 7:15 at night. Solicitors. Fantastic. They greet me and state they are doing work for a neighbor down the street (and then POINT down the street) and wanted to know if I wanted a free quote for window and roof replacement. Windows for my house would be a 15-20k job and a roof would be similar. Who in their right mind would be willing to just hand out up to 30k in home repairs to someone who just knocked on their door. I asked to see their solicitors license and I was told we arent solicitors, we are schedulers. I had to politely explain to the two gentlemen what the definition of a solicitor was and told them if you are rining my door, canvassing the neighborhood, trying to obtain business, you are a solicitor and should have a license. He showed me his company ID which was not his license. I then called the company to find out why there was not a supervisor in my area who had a copy of their license and wanted to know who thought it was a good idea to ring someones doorbell at 7:15 at night. The lady on the phone said unfortunately my supervisor isnt here because its not normal business hours. The irony! The supervisors dont work during normal business hours but its OK for a solicitor not carrying a copy of their license to ring my doorbell at 7:15 and interrupt my household.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SOLICITORS! We as consumers must let companies know this type of disturbing marketing will not be tolerated.

Had a really great consultant named Jason and a sales person named Brett. They were very courteous, respectful, and most of all professional. It wasn't like having a car salesman in our house as we've experienced before. Jason was a great guy (who lives locally) we talked about beer, and children as he took a power glass window and hammered a nail into a wood block without breaking it. Power HRG is a quality product and we will go with nothing else. Great job guys for a good experience.

Seal on living room window broke and water got in so we decided to replace that and 3 other windows. We were approached by this company at a fair, and my husband told the guy he wanted an estimate..."no 3 hour sales pitch." After 3 hours...yes, my husband told him "no 3 hour sales pitch" and he was here exactly 3 hours...the guy gave us one price if we "buy right now" and a price of $1,050 more if we buy after tonight. I flipped out on him. He knew how furious I was, and he was visibly upset, but his answer was he shouldn't have shown me the lower price. He tried to get me to talk to his manager on the phone, but I refused. Needless to say, he's not getting our sale. As a matter of fact, we're so annoyed, we're keeping our foggy window.

Dear
[redacted]
I’m
sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our response.  Hopefully we can eliminate any further
confusion or miscommunication moving forward.
The
Agreement dated 8/14/14 is void under The Contractor’s Right to Cancel as a
result of incorrect pricing.  Since you
decided not to move forward with the additional project at the correct price, we cannot offer you the 5.9%
finance rate.  The discounted rate is
offered through the lender.  Please see
the attached Agreement Amendment, dated 8/16/14.  It was mailed and emailed to you by the Project
Expediter, Matt C[redacted], on 8/18/14.  Matt
C[redacted] also spoke with you (and/or your husband) on the phone that same day.  He explained that since you decided not to
move forward with the new project at the correct pricing, the interest rate
would revert to the original 7.9% as outlined in the original Agreement dated
6/28/14.
Power
does not offer a warranty on the [redacted] thermostat.  This warranty is offered through the
manufacturer, hence the manufacturer sending the new unit to you at no
charge.  Power only assumes financial
responsibility when the issue falls within the Power Labor Warranty, which this
does not, since Power does not offer the warranty on the [redacted] thermostat.  As stated in the document you sent along with
your rejection, Power makes all of it’s warranties available online at: www.totalcareinstalls.com.
Please
do not hesitate to contact me if you required a more detailed explanation.  As always, you can reach us for general service

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I do not have an issue with the addtional financing, the problem is that we had been told by the gentleman we spoke to on the
Day of the install that there would be room in the original financing for the extra wood and if not we would be called. We did not receive a call during the install nor for a few days so we thought the extra amount was under the original loan. We have only received documents for the original loan of 15,000 which had to be signed twice because the first set of documents were predated for a month prior which is unacceptable. Not only that but, we never were presented with the financial documents until a week after the instal. This does not give a person a chance to read through a legal binding contract before having work done. If we did not agree to the terms of the contract then it would be too late since the roof had already been installed. My husband and I will be in contact with you and your company over the phone to discuss these matter further.
As I stated before we do not have an issue paying the addtional money and we would like to have this matter with the financing documents settled quickly as possible . I wanted to bring to your attention the issues we had so that they will not occur again. Thank you for your time in reviewing this matter

I am a female single family home owner.
While scheduling the appointment, three times I was asked the question "is there someone else responsible for decision making?" I thought this was strange but continued with the appointment.
The sales person entered my home and settled herself in for a long power point presentation. This was my day off, I had to pick up the kids at 330 and time was ticking.
I was told that I needed to hear MORE power point and that cutting it short was not giving the company a full chance. She was not getting the hint that I wanted her to "bottom line it".
Finally, I was given a sheet with a price of $7100 for a sliding door and window replacement.
I told her I wanted to "sleep on it" and get back to her the next day.
This was not settling the conversation.
The light bulb went off in my head and I said, "WAIT...are you saying that I don't get this price unless I sign on now?"
She answered "In order to best serve our customers..." (and on..)
I said, "That's a YES or NO question"...
she said "YES". At that point friendly conversation became awkward.
She began addressing me directly by name and defending the reasons..and packing up.
She also took the $7100 quote with her and gave me a new quote for $8400, which she left at my house.

Unless you want to give up two hours of your life don't allow them to provide you with an estimate! The sales person was very unprofessional, pushy and over stayed his welcome. He arrived late at 7:30 PM and didn't leave until 9:30 PM when we asked him to leave. This is despite the fact that we told him my husband was recovering from surgery and he had 10 minutes to wrap it up. He was incensed that we would ask him to either provide us with a quote or leave and told us "I guess you really didn't want to get a quote on replacing your windows". He had already told us about Power, told us about the product and measured all of our windows, really what else is there to do?

Dear [redacted],This message shall serve as a response to the above-referenced complaint.A Power Home Remodeling representative spoke with [redacted] on 10/10/16 to confirm the cancellation of the project.  The status of the project is closed and no monies or services are owed by either...

party. Please contact me if you require any additional information.Sincerely,Eamon L[redacted]Warranty Service DirectorPower Home Remodeling

I had a salesperson from PowerHRG soliciting in my neighborhood and knocked at my door to offer a free estimate, and I agreed to have one the next day. I was asked for my information and was asked if I had a "significant other". At that time I was asked for his name, and I refused to give him his phone number. Later that evening, I received a call to confirm the appointment I made for the free estimate that was scheduled for the following day. The sales person repeatedly tried to reschedule my appointment because my significant other would not be available for the appointment. By the end of the call, I had to threaten to cancel my appointment. This was because I had to repeatedly tell him that I would be the sole decision maker in the purchase process, and he insisted that I needed my significant other there for the estimate. The salesperson finally agree to keep my appointment with me being the exclusive person who would be present for the free estimate appointment. Because I am a female, I felt discriminated because the sales person continually insisted in having my significant other present. At one point he mentioned that I could not make a decision, or finance this work on my own. I m the only person on the house deed, and financed my home on my own for many years before my significant other was in my life. I was upset that I was harassed to the point that I had to threaten to take my business elsewhere before being offered to keep my appointment without my significant other present. After thinking about that unsettling conversation with that salesperson, and the difficult conversation I had to go thru to keep the appointment, I have decided to post my unpleasant experience here, and I am cancelling my appointment.

Dear [redacted], I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.  I apologize if our interactions were upsetting or offensive.  I assure you that was not the intention and I will conduct an internal investigation on behalf of your complaint.  When a homeowner...

I am rejecting this response because:This will take way too long! I want it removed immediately! I will still send in a signed letter as you requested but I can't believe I have to go through all of this because of your deception. Who knows how long this process is going to take but it's already been 2 weeks and counting to get an inquiry removed. Not happy with PowerHRG at all! Great products but terrible management!
