Power Home Remodeling Group Reviews (609)

Dear [redacted], Thank you for taking the time to follow up with us regarding your concerns.  I have reviewed your complaint and looked into the matter. I apologize for the situation, but unfortunately, I’m unable to accommodate your request for compensation in the amount you are...

seeking.  However, our original offer of compensation remains. Please reference the attached photos.  In consideration of the size of the crack relative to the size of the driveway, Power HRG cannot reasonably be expected to assume the cost of replacing the entire driveway. Please contact me directly to make arrangement for the compensation distribution. [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]
 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted] I have been asking for a break down of my bill for over 3 months and what you sent me was something that you put together to fast to realize the the obscure glass was not free for me but a mistake that your saleman failed to put in, also the 9.9 is not the lowest when the next guy offered 5 if I got more work done, I asked for the salesman to get back to me more then one time and still you fail to do that as well, I was told that the price that was given was the final cost with everything included as well as me getting a discount, but where your breakdown was put together to fast it also fails to show what I was offered when the saleman was selling me the Windows's, again if I was told it would cost over 18,000 to do the job it would've never got done. Still waiting for a proper breakdown and for a call from the salesman.

Dear [redacted],

Thank you for taking the time
to write about your recent remodeling project.
I apologize that your experience was not inline with your

I hope that you find this

have fallen short here.  Thank you for
your patience and I’m sorry for any undue stress or aggravation this issue may

I am very pleased with Power Remodeling after a total exterior remodeling of our home. As the second owners of an original design, we have had to do a lot of maintenance on our home of 17 years. We have never before experienced such a consistently high level of detail or professionalism from any other vendor or contractor. Anytime there was an issue, the Power Remodeling team was quick to resolve and check with us to make sure we were completely satisfied. I highly recommend this company. Excellent work! Excellent People! Excellent Experience!

We were told a representative from Power HRG would be out to provide a free estimate, guaranteed for at least a year. After a four hour long appointment, which consisted of a roof inspection, complete room by room inspection, a product demo, and a useless comparison report, the company gave us a $40k "estimate" for a new roof and windows. I was then given a "sign now" pricing of $28k and an explanation that if I signed right now the bank would approve a finance rate of 7%. No company can guarantee a finance rate, since this is solely based on credit worthiness. We did not commit and explained we are still gathering estimates. The representative refused to leave anything in writing and I had to ask twice for a business card. I will never use their service as this is not the way a respectable business conducts themselves. I have received a phone call 2 weeks later explaining they have miraculously secured even better pricing than before. Please beware of this company and DO NOT sign up at the time of estimate. It is a scam.

Dear [redacted],We have made several unsuccessful attempts to contact you regarding the installation date for your project.  As explained during the sales demonstration, all of our products are custom made.  Each window and door opening has unique measurements, styles, colors and...

options.  The windows and doors for your home we manufacture according to the Agreement you signed on 2/10/117 and as specified during the Pre-Installation Inspection on 3/8/17.  These unit can not simply be restocked.  Please contact us to discuss your options.Respectfully,Eamon L[redacted]Director of Warranty Service

We had windows and gutters installed by them.Very happy with your representatives, the installation and cleanup of both jobs. We had original windows and leaving in Illinois the cold and wind can be brutal. Cut our gas bill by at least a 1/3. Would call them again or recommend them to friends or family. They followed though with everything they promised even the pizza.

We have flagged this member on both our do not call and do not knock lists.  Per her request, she will no longer be contacted by our organization.

Two weeks ago I had a knock on the door, and the door to door representative from power home remodeling was persistent in getting us to schedule to receive a quote on replacing our roof. He told me that the estimate would take an hour. I should have ran away then when he shook my hand and left saying, " Thank you, you just earned me $25!" Professionalism at its finest!
The sales representative came out the next week and was fantastic about his knowledge of the company and its products. We were delighted to hear what he had to say, until it came time for the quote. Knowing it was way out of our budget, we kindly told him it wasn't going to work with our finances. He would not take no for an answer and as the night drew on was actually getting more pushy and arrogant. We even said you can do the roof, but we won't be able to pay to, to which he responded, "once we get the money from the bank, you don't have to pay them back!" Clearly only interested at making the sale, and not the wellbeing of the consumer. The hour estimate was 3 hours long from 630-930, and with 2 small children waiting to be put to bed we finally got him out of the house.
Today, I received a phone call on my cell phone from the company and I asked to be taken off the list. Not even two hours later I received a call on my house line from them and kindly asked to be taken off the list. At 4:00 I got a knock on the door from another representative, and with my patience being tested, I told her that we already received a quote and we weren't interested. At 5:30 another representative came to the door and I lost it.
We are not interested in buying a roof, or any other product, for that matter, from power home remodeling. They need to learn how to communicate amongst there employees and learn how to take no for an answer! To be harassed by 4 different people in one day is ridiculous!

Dear [redacted],

Thank you for taking the time
to write to us about your experience.  I
have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.  I apologize for the ongoing issues with your
bay window.

The bay window was sold with
a one-year labor warranty and a manufacturer’s product warranty.  As you accurately noted, the manufacturer is
no longer in business.  Despite the
expired labor warranty and nonexistent product warranty, we have continued to
provide our services; purchasing several glass packs from a new manufacture and
replacing them as a courtesy to you without question or cost.

As a result of our
investigation on 2/12/16 we discovered evidence of work performed on and around
the bay window by a third party contractor.
When the siding was replaced in 2009, the j-channel was not properly
sealed to the window.  The roof over the
header of the bay window was also replaced at some point.  It has an additional layer of asphalt
shingles, not installed by Power HRG.
The flashing installed with the second layer of shingles is channeling
water down into the header of the bay window.
The water then travels down the mullions and into the seat-board.

Attached is a copy of the
Agreement and photographs illustrating the root causes.  While we understand your frustration,
unfortunately Power HRG cannot reasonably be held accountable based on the
evidence outlined herein. As a gesture of our willingness to make amends, we
would be happy to provide you with a substantial discount on a replacement
unit.  Please contact us directly if you
are interested in setting up arrangements.

Respectfully,

Dear [redacted],Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience.  I apologize for the nails and debris that were left behind.  As you know, one of our Field Service Managers visited your hour home on 6/6/17 to perform a magnetic nail sweep of the property and reattach a...

loose panel of siding.  Please let me know if you are still experiencing any issues.  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work on your home.Respectfully, Eamon L[redacted]Director of Warranty Service

We had a man from Power come to the door and we set up an appointment to have an inspection done for roofing work, we knew that we needed work done so this seemed like a good opportunity. The sales man arrived and did his "inspection" of the roof and gave us his quote. However, it seems that the sales people are trained to be dishonest with the customer. He quoted us $14000 for the roof repair, saying we needed new shingles and some new decking to repair leaks. He told us that Power would cover the first $300 in decking but that the job wouldn't require more than that, so don't worry. Also, if we don't sign up now the cost would be $28000. We thought this was a good deal and needed the work done so we signed up.
The next step is that the pre installation inspector has to come out to finalize everything. The pre instal guy came out and found that ALL of the decking would need to be replaced and re-quoted us at $19000 ($5000 more). When we said that was too expensive he was able to make one quick phone call and cut the increase in half, to $2500.
The installers came out, did the work, and I am satisfied with the new roof. The next step is to have the "quality assurance" rep come out to make sure we are satisfied. He came out, we told him we were satisfied, and he proceeded into another sales pitch. He told us we should also get new gutters, because no one gets a new roof without new gutters. He goes and looks at the gutters and quotes us $3000 for gutters. Seems a little high, but he said he could roll it in with the roofing cost and lower the overall interest rate and get us a good deal. Always the sucker for a good deal, I said ok. I was then told not to worry, and that the inspector won't find anything else for an additional fee.
The next step is that the Pre installation inspector has to come out to finalize everything. The inspector comes out and takes a look and finds that in order to instal gutters, we would need to pay for all new soffits and facia and would raise the price. I said no thanks. I tried to call my quality assurance manager that came out earlier to talk to him, but he is unavailable. The service rep I spoke to on the phone tells me that he spoke to the supervisor, who will speak with the quality assurance rep and inspector to see what happened. I then got a call saying sorry we couldn't do business.
It seems to me that the sales people do not have training on roofing or other projects. It seems the are trained on how to underquote, get you emotionally invested in getting a new roof/gutters, and then send someone else out to raise the price in hopes that you will go along with it. This is dishonest and predatory. I would never recommend this company.
