Power Home Remodeling Group Reviews (609)

I had Power do windows on a former home of mine. I was so happy with them when needed windows again in my new home wanted to use Power Home remodeling again. This experience is just as the last professional and respectful.

They came to my door at 7pm I talked with someone who wanted to sell us a new roof and windows we made an appointment but had to cancel unfortunately we all got sick ... I said also after discussing it with my husband we would call when we're ready now all of a sudden they are calling my cell phone and home phone everyday except Sundays and they always hang up so I blocked them on my cell today 1/11/16 I answered some man started off by saying we have you down as being interested in windows and when can we set up a day and time I couldn't talk at first when he was done with his pitch I explained all the calls and harassment he apologized to me then went right back to his sales pitch ...I hung up .... this is clearly not right .

Review: A young man knocked on my door yesterday afternoon and informed me that it was his company's policy to provide a courtesy warning to neighbors when they worked on a home and, he informed me, that since they would be putting a roof on a home " a couple of doors down" from me he was letting me know that they were using the road closest to my home as an access point to bring in materials. He apologized again & told me that the inconvenience would only last from 8-10 am the following day. He then offered a courtesy estimate of my roof; I expressed interest and was given a phone w/ a scheduler on the line to facilitate this estimate. However, when I told this person that my husband would not be present for the estimate the scheduler became adamant that he be present; when I was not willing to give an exact time/date the scheduler became more aggressive and started asking more detailed questions so I cut the phone call short and got off of the phone. The next morning I went searching for the house in my subdivision being serviced by this company- there were none. In fact, I searched three subdivisions: it was all a lie.

I was called back by the scheduler the next day: when he started to pressure me for a meeting time I asked him to identify the home his company was roofing- he claimed that they could not disclose that type of information - I confronted him with the fact that I had investigated this matter and that there was no work being conducted here and that the salesperson's pitch was disingenuous/ an outright lie and, as such, I could never work w/ a company that lied without a second thought. I asked to be taken out of their system and never be contacted/ visited again- and I include my husband in this.

[redacted] has a No Solicitation policy- vendors must apply for a permit to go door-to-door. It is my belief that Powers Home Remodeling Group violated this ordinance and willfully misled the public (me) with a blatant lie to get me to open the door. That the lie was cloaked in the guise of "neighborly courtesy" is especially appalling.

This company is utilizing deceitful sales practices and ignoring local statutes governing door-to-door sales, I am also filing a complaint with the Town of [redacted] against this behavior.Desired Settlement: I hope to never be contacted by these people- nor should they attempt to contact my family- and what little contact/personal information I gave should be eliminated from their data and never shared. Additionally I do not expect to ever see their representatives knocking on doors anywhere or I will call the police.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

First and

foremost, thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. Valuable input and feedback from homeowners like

you help eliminate these types of issues in the future. I apologize that our interactions have caused

undue stress and aggravation to you and your family.

Among the

things that we require to provide an estimate are that all the homeowners,

decision makers, and involved parties are present to get the information. It is not to force a sale, like the case may

seem. We do that to put ourselves in the

best position to earn your future business by ensuring that we’ve done

everything in our power to educate you on the industry, the products, our

company, and the investment that is involved.

Without speaking to everyone, we have no opportunity to do that and only

invite the chance of miscommunication or the need to visit each home multiple

times. We’ve been in business for over

22 years, and have found that our customers, and potential customers, are

happiest in the end when they’ve received all the information they need before

getting involved with a home improvement.

Because of that, it has become one of our most important policies.

In instances

where people give us their contact information, we touch base with them

periodically to see if they would be interested in our products and services. After a period of time, your information is entered

into our automated dialer.

This is the

first time I am learning about your dissatisfaction and will take the steps necessary

to rectify the situation. We will systematically address this issue as

follows; flag your records in our database to prevent future calls from anyone

in the company, remove the number from the predictive dialer, and post the

number to our own internal DNK & DNC lists.

Furthermore,

you willfully provided us with your information, so at no time have you been

contacted without authorization. We

apologize for the inconvenience and give assurance that we will do our best to

make sure you will not hear from us again.

Hopefully this will help to absolve our company of any wrongdoing.

If there is anything else I can do to assist, please contact me directly via

the information noted below.

Regards,

Eamon L[redacted]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

While I appreciate the fact that my information will be "flagged" to prevent further communication; the responder mentioned that "after a certain period of time information is entered into the system". I filed my complaint the day after I was approached by these people, so the company knew of my displeasure within 48 hours. My information should not be entered, period. I am formally asked to be deleted from a database--I know this is possible and I want it done immediately. ANY database being used allows for information to be located and deleted and telling me that it is impossible to do this is as disingenuous as the way in which I was approached to begin with by this company. Also, at no time was the biggest part of my complaint addressed: LYING TO ME--very specific lies---about work being done in my subdivision and my door was being knocked on AGAINST CITY ORDINANCE as a courtesy when really, it was a sales call. I would like the LYING approach to sales addressed--this is not only unethical it is not allowed by my city.

Why are your sales people using this approach of lying to people to gain access? My story is the same as many others listed on both [redacted] review as well as on the Revdex.com website---it is unethical, people don't like it, it is predatory and yet it continues. I want this addressed, please.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: Representatives from Power Home Remodeling go from door to door in my neighborhood. Back in 2011, I called and asked to be put on the 'do not call' & 'do not knock' list as the constant knocks after repeatedly telling them I wasn't interested became very annoying. Over the last 3 years, they have continued to come to my door. Last year I called the [redacted] Police department who stopped them and determined they did not even have a permit to be in my neighborhood. After the conversation with the police, they did obtain a permit but still continue to come to my door. Each time I have called the corporate office & begged them to stop their reps from knocking on my door & coming on my property. Each time the person on the phone has assured me that I am indeed on their 'dot not knock' list so they don't know why the reps keep coming by. One suggestion was that their corporate office was not properly communicating the list with the regional offices. 2 reps just knocked on my door a few minutes ago so I sent them away, called corporate and again got the "you're on the list & I promise no one will bother you again' line that I have heard many times before.Desired Settlement: I would like Power Home Remodeling to never call or step foot on my property again.

My gutters have never looked better! I would have never thought that doing new gutters to the house would Make my house look so much better! Power did a fantastic job from start to finish!

Review: Two sales men used aggressive sales tactics to me, a woman home alone. I was on my property with these sales men for over 15 minutes, explaining multiple times that I was not interested in scheduling an estimate appointment until I spoke to my husband. The two sales men would not accept my disinterest and refusal to schedule an appointment. They cornered me and my service dog until I made an appointment. When the office supervisor was called, and I was told I needed to speak to confirm all my information, I explained over the phone that I was not interested. I was pressured to give my husband's name, contact information, and my email address. One of the sales men continued to touch and speak to my service dog, even after I explained he was my service dog. I was made to feel that I had no choice but to give my personal information and schedule the appointment.Desired Settlement: It would be best for the sales people to not be allowed to use aggressive sales techniques, to learn how to understand and listen to rejection, and to show respect by not engaging in ignorant or offensive behaviors around a potential customer's disability. I do not want any contact from this business.

Response:

I was cursed at by the installers. Cracked shingles were installed. Broken landscaping lights during install. Driveway was ruined due to oil stains from install trucks. Huge mess was left behind and two months later I'm still finding nails and pieces of shingles.

I have received NUMEROUS sales calls from this company and have no idea how they got my number. I'm on the National Do Not Call List. I even called THEM and asked them to remove my number from their call list. Now not only am I getting calls from their Atlanta office but also their office in Pennsylvania. I am this close to hiring a lawyer and suing them for harassment. I wouldnt use them EVEN if I DID need a remodeling quote.

I am a female single family home owner.
While scheduling the appointment, three times I was asked the question "is there someone else responsible for decision making?" I thought this was strange but continued with the appointment.
The sales person entered my home and settled herself in for a long power point presentation. This was my day off, I had to pick up the kids at 330 and time was ticking.
I was told that I needed to hear MORE power point and that cutting it short was not giving the company a full chance. She was not getting the hint that I wanted her to "bottom line it".
Finally, I was given a sheet with a price of $7100 for a sliding door and window replacement.
I told her I wanted to "sleep on it" and get back to her the next day.
This was not settling the conversation.
The light bulb went off in my head and I said, "WAIT...are you saying that I don't get this price unless I sign on now?"
She answered "In order to best serve our customers..." (and on..)
I said, "That's a YES or NO question"...
she said "YES". At that point friendly conversation became awkward.
She began addressing me directly by name and defending the reasons..and packing up.
She also took the $7100 quote with her and gave me a new quote for $8400, which she left at my house.

They were professional, precise on the work, and everyone was very polite. What stood out the most was there customers service. The installers cleaned well and when they were done they showed us exactly how they operate the windows. Such a nice experience!

We loved everything about the entire process with power! We are very happy we chose the right company!

tPower has done a few jobs in my neighborhood. I liked the work they have done so had my windws done. I am impressed with all the people power has sent to my home. The professionalism and respect is top notch.

Review: I had a side door installed at said address which required the door to swing-out. On a windy day you could lose control of the door because on a windy day the wind pushes the door backwards. I have small children in the house which I am afraid they will get hurt. There are other issues which I wish not to mention on the internet. They keep telling me the issues will be resolved, which nothing has been done as of todate. I have spoken to the Project Manager, [redacted] several times and [redacted], which is the Director of Warranty. The door was installed December 5, 2012. Please help me to resolve this issue before someone is hurt or damages are done to my home.Desired Settlement: The door be removed at their expense and I do not have to pay for the door. [redacted] explains Its my door I will have to pay for the door regardless to the outcome. I should not have to pay for a door I cannot use.

Review: On Wednesday March 13, 2013 representatives from this group came and knocked on my door (without a permit in town) and I agreed to see a sales rep. Sales rep came that night and sold me three windows. I have until midnight tonight (March 18, 2013) to cancel. I signed the cancellation form, made a copy for my files, faxed it to them, emailed them, and sent it to them priortity mail signature required by the US Postal Service on Friday March 15, 2013.. I also called Friday about three times. First I was put through to "[redacted]" who couldn't hear me. I then left a phone message at 11:15 AM for "[redacted]" to confirm they recieved the fax and never got a return call. Later on Friday I recieved a letter from the finance department signed by [redacted], leaving her number and extension [redacted], and when I call and use that extension, thier IVR tells me that the extension is not valid.

I have copies of 1.) the cancllation form, 2.) the email that was sent, 3.) the receipt from the Post Office with the signature tracking information.Desired Settlement: I want them to honor the cancellation, as I have tried everything to get into contact with them, including following the correct procedure to cancel the order. I have until Midnight tonight to cancel, yet I cannot get these people on the line to do so or to confirm.

Super experience with power. We got windows and gutters installed last week and it couldn't have gone smoother for us. The people are great the work is great so basically a great experience!

Review: On July 22, 2013 a representative of this company stopped by my house with an advertisement and asked if I wanted an estimate for my roof. An appointment was made for July 23, 2013. This gentleman said the company had the longest warranties in the business and any estimate quoted would be good "forever". He said that if a shingle ever comes off they will replace it for free. On July 23 2013 [redacted] showed up. We sat at a table in my back yard and [redacted] spent about 1 hour explaining the virtues of the company (member of NARI, 15 workers come to do the job, have roofers insurance, etc). I explained to [redacted] that when I had my gutters cleaned last year I got a quote of $9,000.00 but the neighbor across the street had a teardown and new roof last year for $6.500.00 with new gutters included and their roof has dormers and peaks whereas mine is 2 flat sides. [redacted] said labor time is not considered only size. He measured the roof from the ground and told me it wasm 1700 square feet and the company could not do it for less than $9,000.00 and financing would be $200.00. I assumed this was his quote and told him I could not afford that at this time. [redacted] said whatever I decide I should do it before winter and left.

About 2 weeks later I received a call saying the company would send someone to drop by with discounts. I made an appointment for August 14, 2013 but had to reschedule for August 15,2013 at 10:00. On August 15, 2013 at 10:00 [redacted] from Power showed up. He had no idea he was there to give discounts but thought this was a new appointment. He could not find a record of the previous appointment and had to call someone. I told him this did not bode well for the company as already I see a communications problem. He asked a lot of questions about the first appointment and since [redacted] had not explained anything about the roofing process or materials he brought in a miniature house and proceeded to tell me all about it. He wanted to go on my roof and I told him no - measure from the ground the same way [redacted] did. He said even though he was only 24 he had been doing this for years and knew what he was doing - I still told him no. He said his measurements were close to [redacted]. After about 1 1/2 hours he said [redacted] should have told me the price was $20,000.00 but they would do it for $14,000.00 and he would give me a discount so it would be $10,000.00 plus (it was ten thousand something but I did not note the exact amount). At this point I told him the company lies. I was told whatever quote I received was "forever" and now he was quoting me a discounted price higher than the original quote. As far as the lifetime warranty, he gave me a spiel about how lifetime warranties are not really lifetime, so I am not sure if it is or not. I told [redacted] that the company is not reputible as they lie and he said he understood and would feel the same way if he was me. I was quite annoyed. I told him first of all he was only supposed to be dropping off discounts and now after wasting 1 1/2 hours of my time he give me a higher price. I also told him I would not recommend his company to anyone and would tell them that they lie. He left.. In addition neither salesman gave a written estimate so they can easily say that they are not lying but that is not the estimate given.Desired Settlement: I think this company should not have a good rating with the Revdex.com because they lie. I aqlso think this company needs to revise its sales methods and spiel.

1. There is no communications between representatives marketing the product so customers time is wasted.

2. Claims of lifetime warranties and free replacement shingles for life should not be given unless true.

3. All estimates or price quotes should be in writing if they are going to advertise that the quote or estimte is good "forever"

4. Sales personnel should be more gracious in complying with customers requests such as not going on my roof.

5. Customers such as myself should be compensated for the time wasted, the lies and the poor communications if the company expects satisfaction from this complaint and a favorable review from me.

Review: Several weeks after signing a contract with Power HRG to get the siding done on my house, they informed my husband and I that we would have to pay upwards of $2700 if we wanted them to do the job. Power HRG stated that a representative from their company was inaccurate in his measurements of the home and, thus, WE needed to agree to pay the additional amount if we wanted to have our siding done. This was not a marginal error or mismeasurement. This was a gross miscalculation which Power HRG wants us to pay for -- despite the fact that we have a signed contract. Why should we have to pay for an error that their representative made?!Desired Settlement: Waive the additional cost of $2700+ and stick to the agreed upon contracted amount for the siding job. If the company can not agree to the entire additional cost, at least agree to waive half of it.

Review: Door to door representatives from this business have repeatedly stopped at our house. The most recent incident was August 4, 2013 where I repeatedly told the gentleman I was not interested in his free estimate. After being continually badgered and told that someone was "in our area" that night, I said, "Fine, stop by around 6 when you are here." Then, the gentleman proceeded to ask for all of my information and had to call an appointment scheduler, whom I then had to speak with and repeat my information. I again told this representative that I was not interested and was tired of receiving phone calls from this company, when I asked to be on the do not call list after the last incident. It turned out that there actually were no appointments available and I stressed again, that I was not interested. The gentleman at my house continued to talk at me for another 5-10 minutes before finally leaving. Today, I received a phone call from the scheduler I spoke with last evening asking again if there was any other time the company could come out to look at our property. I AGAIN said I wasn't interested, which was followed by him asking what kind of siding was on my house and did it go all the way around, etc, which was completely inappropriate after I had told him I wasn't interested. The call ended quite abruptly because my children were crying and it was lunch time.Desired Settlement: Please stop contacting me via phone and in person. Also, please show respect for your potential customers by not badgering them into an appointment and then continuing to pursue a deal when it was clearly communicated that the customer was not interested. Unfortunately, it looks as though I will get a standardized response from the company because I reviewed numerous other complaints of the same nature and saw standardized and replicated copies of the company's "response" for the same issue. With that being said, I would like the 3 part process of flagging in the system and taking off the automatic dialer, etc, process to be handled immediately upon receipt of this complaint so that I will have no further interaction with this company. I understand soliciting work to make a profit, as all businesses do, but when it comes down to harassing customers, it is not acceptable.

I paid over $12,000.00 for a roof for my house.
now, when one of the employees came to check it out, he said I needed gutters and soffets.
the first guy told us we didn't need them
so now, i'm adding another $6,000.00 for leaders and gutters because he told me if I didn't buy them from this company, my warranty is null and void.
he said he'd do my garage for free for the mistake.
i'm not getting anything free.......I feel like I was scammed.....i'll never let them do any work for me nor will I recommend them to anyone.

Review: I have called this company at least 6 times (first call early April/last call 5/9) to have them replace and repair items they damaged. Every time I called, I was told the matter would be taken to the call takers manager to address this matter. I never received a call. I was told I would receive a $50 dollar certificate for the damaged item(s). I told them that would not cover the damage. I also told them I expected them to do the repairs since they caused the damaged. During the last call (6th on 5/9) I informed them that I would be filing a complaint through the Revdex.com if this was not addressed. I received a call later that day. The caller never left a message.

I told the last call taker, the damaged items could run up to $200 to replace and if I had to replace them I would need to be reimbursed for my time. This seemed to fall upon deaf ears. I don't think they are taking me seriously. This is the reason I am filing the complaint.Desired Settlement: I expect Power to replace and repair all damaged properties. I also feel that I should be compensated for all the trouble they have put me through.
