Precision Air & Heating, Inc. Reviews (1087)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First, I would like to address the several false statements in the response from Precision Air & Heating.

1.   “The concerns of her call related to a 1925 built home with a 2007 Trane unit not meeting her air flow expectations on the east side only.”

a.    The concerns of our call on 5/30/2014 was that it was not cool in the east side of our house, not that we knew there was an airflow issue. We wanted to know why it was not cooling on the east side of the house. We wanted a thorough inspection that would resolve the issue (mechanical or otherwise).

2.   “Mrs. [redacted] also noted concern that the duct work needed to be looked at because of the room addition to the home.”

a.    We did not mention any concern of the duct work. This statement is completely false because the addition is on the west side of the house and cools perfectly fine.

b.    We would not know that there was something wrong with the ductwork.

3.    “The homeowner stated the unit was working and cooling properly and currently reading and indoor temperature of 79 degrees.”a.    If our house had an indoor temperature of 79 degrees there wouldn’t be a reason for us to call you. b.    We repeatedly called because our house was reaching 86 degrees.

4.   “Our Field Supervisor, [redacted], contacted the homeowner this same day to discuss her air flow concerns in addition to advising the homeowner on the benefits of adding radiant barrier, vents and insulation options to the home.”

a.    Their technician [redacted] who came to our home told us that there was not enough room to add a radiant barrier and that the insulation was adequate. He also assured us that the vents would help cool the east side room, which it did not. Hence our many calls after the vents were installed.

b.    It is obvious that although he checked our AC unit, he did not thoroughly inspect it. Instead, we were charged for his inspection and he sold us on work that was unnecessary. It was later discovered that the AC unit itself was the main issue which was pointed out by one of their own technicians after all the air flow recommended work had been completed and paid for.

5.   “The homeowner's initial complaint has always been of an air flow nature, never a mechanical nature.”

a.    Our initial concern was that that our house was not cool and it was your “expert” recommendations that airflow was the issue. After having done all your airflow recommended work we did not get any results.b.    If our complaint was never mechanical in nature, then why were we asked to clean the condenser and evaporative coil along with the airflow fixes? We paid for both mechanical and airflow recommended work.

To be honest, I would not be making this complaint had my temperature gone down even 1 degree from 86 degrees to 85 degrees. But it did not. I paid close to three thousand dollars with nothing to show for it besides ugly looking vents on my roof. Not to mention I have had rain leaks in my house since those vents were installed, the return was not placed where we requested, etc. At this point I don’t want anyone else to come out for the 7th, 8th, or 9th time. I’m sure any reasonable person could understand why. I would just like a refund on the unnecessary work that did not produce any results (vents, duct modification, return).

In terms of the airflow work, the only noticeable difference was the scoop that [redacted] installed. If you would like to charge me what the scoop would have cost from my requested settlement amount, I would be fine with that.

If this settlement is not accepted by Precision Air & Heating, I would like to request that this complaint be publicly posted on the Revdex.com web site.

Regards,

Manny was a doll and a pleasure to work with he explained everything in vivid detail. Also explained that maintenance is the key to a reliable unit thanks for spending the time to insure we understood our situation manny your the best

My husband and I weren't quite sure what was wrong with the flow in our A/C unit and called Friday evening. Precision Air sent out a technician right away. Garrett was courteous and got right to work, assessing the issue. He told us immediately that he had found a leak and could fix it that day, and recommended to have our ducts cleaned the following week. Garrett was very patient and thorough.

We had them come out to do the annual inspection and the tech said something needed to be replaced for a labor fee. We went ahead and did that. A month later our AC stopped working on the weekend. The new part was bad. They were not able to come back out until 6pm Monday. We were thankful that Aaron A. was fast courteous and did not charge us for the service. (And that we had somewhere to stay until it was fixed because it was in the teens those days)

The homeowner called Precision Air & Heating. At the time of this phone call the homeowner states the AC  system  was  cooling to  79 degrees  and  holding temperature. The homeowner  divulged  they underwent a recent room addition to the West side of the home and now feels the East side is not receiving enough air flow. The homeowner was set up with a No Charge estimate to address the airflow concern and discuss Home Performance additions.  The initial quote was given and the customer opted to proceed with the quote.  The customer does not hold an Agreement with our company and would have been charged a $59.95 diagnostic fee if service was requested for a mechanical issue. This was not the case. The homeowner was never charged this fee throughout our course of tending to the airflow issues because the AC system was maintaining temperature and operating properly. A service technician was also never sent out to the customer's home. Another indication the customer requested an airflow quote/bid.

Upon inspections, we found insufficient airflow to include kinked ductwork and undersized ductwork to the front of the house, office and dining room, and dirty ductwork and coils. All of which are indicative of airflow issues. We also recommended adding attic vents and increasing insulation levels to help with attic heat load.

Again, the homeowner has a clouded perception that our work performed has not helped with the airflow issues because they developed a mechanical issue in the latter. It's conceivable for us .to understand why the homeowner thinks our work did not help with the airflow issue because a failure in the system developed in the unit. Hence, the homeowner did not experience improved airflow distribution because of this failure. This latter failure is impossible to pinpoint time of failure. Secondly, our work performed would not have caused an increase in the inside temperature of the home. The homeowner states the temperature increased to 86 degrees but we did not experience this change in temperature while correcting airflow issues within the home. In this scenario, the customer is picking and choosing what they feel helped with the airflow issue. The homeowner does not hold the certification in the HVAC field to come to this conclusion. And, in this instance, the one item the homeowner feels did help with the airflow happens to be one of the items (the scoop) that was provided to him at no charge.

To summarize, we addressed and proceeded to contract with the customer as proposed and accepted. We continued to address the customer concerns within a timely manner. We addressed and communicated with the homeowner on all findings related to the airflow concern. The customer's perception that the work performed has not improved airflow is off base. The customer's request for a full refund (with exception of paying for a scoop) is not warranted and unrealistic. The latter failure of TXV was unforeseen and not related or caused by any of our work performed. The homeowner declined to have us service their mechanical failure.

The homeowners desired settlement is not warranted. Work performed did enhance the airflow in the home. We do not accept the desired settlement.

Sincerely,

Owner

mr. manny Was here for service today. he explained in details and easy to understand for me. He did good job done.

It has been almost a year since Precision installed our new AC Unit. Like clockwork they called to set up a time to do our annual check up. How refreshing to have a company that lives up to what they say they would do. The technician was courteous and professional and took care of everything. Thank you Precision for living up to your word.

We had our 2 new air/heating system put in by Precision Air. One of the boards went out and they were able to come out and diagnosis the problem one day, order the part and install it the next day--at no charge!! Jonathan B replaced the part quickly and was able to answer all our questions. We were extremely satisfied with Jonathan and Precision Air and Heating!!

Just had our yearly air-conditioner check done by Precision AIr and was very pleased. Our technician's name was Manny who was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. Great employee. Very happy with this company.

called precision air and heating on labor day and they came within an hour. Jacob the tech came ready to help and pretty much explained showed and fixed the problem. The other company could not figure out what the problem was in two trips and wanted to charge me extra do a in depth inspection.

We had an air conditioner failure. Chris #318018 from Precision Air came and repaired our air conditioner. Chris was a very knowledgeable and professional individual. As a result of his work, we signed up for a four year maintenance plan with Precision Air. [redacted]

Mike S and Don were exceptional with going well above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I was taken care of with my AC. They were friendly, thorough, and helped explore all my options and took perfect care of me. Give them both a raise!

Manny was extremely professional and prompt!

Aaron was very helpful and found a solution to a leaking air condition that other companies had just been band aiding for years.

We recently had work done on our new home because we found that the master bedroom would not become cool during the day or at night, whether we closed the doors or kept them open. We were told that we needed another supply and return installed, which would cost us $900+. Although expensive, my husband and I decided to go ahead and have the work done. After all, there were so many positive reviews of the company online and he could not sleep. We then decided to have the company replace our A/C unit as well, since our electric bill was enormous and the unit was original - 24 years old. During the negotiations on price for the A/C, I found out that there was a minimum service charge for labor and that charge comprised over half of our first bill for the supply/return addition. Although we worked out a favorable end price for all of the work done, I reserve judgement until my electric bill sells the quality of the A/C bought and their work sealing up all of the ducts. The men who performed work on our home (Jose, Mario, Davin) seemed nice and cleaned the floors after all the insulation started coming down. I wish they would have put the attic entrance back properly, but otherwise they seemed professional.

Manny was very informative and explained everything throughly. Very friendly ??

I did my homework before deciding on a reputable company to replace my entire heat pump a/c unit. Laith was my salesperson, and Tony and Armando did my installation. All three of them answered any questions I had about my system, as well as the options I had. Their demeanor and professionalism were wonderful and noteworthy. I would recommend this company and the people who worked with me.

I have been using Precision Air & Heating for several years but this is my first review. The technician who came to my house was Nick & he did an awesome job. He was knowledgeable, professional, & had an overall good demeanor. Nick took the time to explain in detail the services he was providing & advised me how well my A/C unit was functioning. Its employees like this who display this type of customer service that will keep me as a customer of Precision Air & Heating.

I was able to schedule an appointment at our new home with same day service and Manny arrived at the early side of my appointment window. After a diagnosis he was able to answer all of my questions about the two units as well as give me assurance that Precision would work with our home warranty in case anything should happen. I am very pleased to have another helpful and positive experience with Precison- thanks Manny!

Manny was very knowledgable and explained all options very well.
