I received a flyer in the mail, offering ADT monitoring services through Protect Your Home in the mailIt offered service for $27.99/monthI called the number on the advertisement, and one of the first questions I was asked was if I had a landline phoneMy response was noI made clear to the gentleman I was speaking to (Roger, badge number 16010) that I was interested specifically in the offer that had been advertised and that that was the only reason I was callingAt no point was I informed that I did not qualify for this offer without a land lineAt the end of the phone call, the gentleman said in summarization "charges of $or $a month" and I said "I'm sorry, what was that?" And he continued "or $or $28"I paid a $fee upfront to have an installer out to my homeWhen he arrived, I was told I only qualify for plans beginning at $a month, almost double what I had asked for when making the appointmentI am now locked into a contract for years at almost double wh

Sales rep was great and so was instillationonly down side was the tech drilled holes to mount control panel but didn't clean up the residueCarrying a small hand vac would do the trick

On 7/20/i purchased a security system from this companyI had the appointment scheduled for them to install the promotional package which would of cost me After it was installed the tech proceeded to tell me that package would not keep us safe and convinced me to purchase dollars worth of equipmentHe said if I changed my mind or my husband didn't approve it could be downgraded if done in business daysOn 7/i spoke to customer service and scheduled an appointment for them to come out and downgrade to promo package. On 7/the tech came to my house and said instead of removing equipment the company would only charge me my first payment of and waive my second paymenthe said he was unable to provide me a receipt at that time but I should call in a week and customer service would have it in the systemI called on 8/and they said it would be taken care ofI called on 8/to check to see if it was fixed in there system and was told they would send ou

This company did not tell the truth about the advertisement that was sent to my homeI called the company and advised the company I would like cameras installed at my home and if not do not comeThe manger explained to me he would make sure I had the cameras properly installed and he would not charge me anythingI asked about the service and he stated the service per monthThe tech came to my home and began setting up the systemThe tech drilled a hole in my wall and was going to put a huge monitor at the door and I asked him could I have something smaller than thatI had to return the key phobs and pay an additional $to have the touch screen monitorThe tech sat down and said started going over the system after he installed itI asked him why was I not getting the basics as that is what I thought I was gettingHe stated that I don't have a land line so I could not which did not make any senseI was frustrated with him at this point because he took all morning to ins

On March 20, I had a home security system installed by this company Unfortunately, on March 21, my home was burglarized and the home security system did not work I filed a police report and contacted this company The following week, they sent a supervisor out and he reported that the home security system was not properly installed, therefore no video of the buglary was recorded He advised me to file a claim with the company for the $refund based on their warranty
I spoke with Susan in their customer support center, who advised me of the information needed to request the warranty refund The information she requested was:
-Police Report # ***
-Proof of *** *** Home Owners Insurance Policy #***
-*** *** Home Owners Insurance Claim #***
I submitted a FOIA request for a copy of the police report Upon receipt of the police report, I submitted all the documents Susan requested in order for her to process the $warranty refun

I responded to a flyer I received in the mail for $monthly monitoring, a wireless system and free equipment What I got was far from that I called and they said they were going to give me $of free equipment, but it was $for installation When they showed up to do the install, the technician immediately replaced my keypad with an ADT keypad and replaced the power source in the garage Then we walk around the house to determine what was needed and then the sales pitch was on!! Basically, the $of free equipment wouldn't protect my home as much as what I already had with *** After or rounds with the technician who originally said I needed an additional $of equipment, we settled at $in additional equipment Then I was told that the $27.99/month monitoring was for a land line only and they wouldn't warranty any of the equipment To get the wireless system that was advertised and warranty protection on the equipment, it was $52.99/month monitoring This was a TOTAL SCAM and deceptive sales practice If I could give a ZERO rating, I would I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General as well

Our ADT home system! The gentleman who did the install was very friendly knowledgeable and informative on what we were purchasing

I initially signed a contract with ADT for home securityAll of a sudden I was being charged for a new companyI was informed that I am now under yer contract and if I want to get out of it I have to pay 75% of the remaining balanceI no longer use the vice but I am forced to pay this monthly fee with no service

I responded to an offer to do a monitoring service on my home for $When the technician came to my house he said I have to get the cellular package for $(classic bait & switch)I said I am not sure about thatHe said I can cancel anytime if I want to
Now months later I am seeing that $is way too expensive for me and I wanted to cancelThey tell me that I need to pay 75% of my contract for years as an early termination fee! That is not acceptable

Company supposedly installed alarm system but it never worked, I was charged for a unit that does not work and this company refuse to help with the matter

I would give zero stars if possible ADT Defenders lies to customers They bill things incorrectly and confusing so customers do not understand They employees installing ADT equipment are dishonest and do not charge based on agreement They are late to appointments and do not value customers time I initially called to understand by bill and was told they didnt understand and would get a call back No call ever They came to remove equipment and did not refund total due to a "discount" credit based on what I paid not on total discount was a piece of equipment ADT said I was entitled to and was later used to refund less money This is a scam and does not comply with what was discussed on install How does equipment that is free end up resulting in a percentage of what is paid? I would never ever use ADT or Defenders as they are dishonest, do not value customers, are rude, late and overall a organization that will take advantage of customers It is hard to believe they are a security company

On or about August 9, I contacted via online ADT agent Defenders dba Protect Your Home located at *** * *** *** *** *** *** ** *** It was advertised that a $Visa gift card would be awarded upon a signed and executed contractAt no time was there mention either on-line or verbally by their phone agent that the gift card would be subject to a $S&H charge by the fulfillment agency *** *** @ ***The financial liability as a result to obtain the $Visa gift card was $plus $money order service charge or $Total
IMHO Defenders dba Protect Your Home located at *** * *** *** *** *** *** ** *** is engaging in advertising by not disclosing at some point during the process that the gift card is subject to S&H by a 3rd party fulfillment centerDisclosing the information after a contract is signed or as in this case upon receipt of the redemption voucher (uploaded form) is nothing less than a dis

I called ADT to get information about home security services at the beginning of July They got my credit card number at the beginning and they charged me $on 07/I agreed on them to come and evaluate our house, which they did on 07/They said very clearly that I would get my money back in a few days if I wanted to cancel their service in the first days after installationOn 07/05, they came to make the installation and I decided not to go with the installation and cancel the service because the service the offered was not the same one that I understood when I talked to them on the phoneFor the higher level of service that I wanted, they asked for a higher monthly fee, which I did not want to pay
Therefore, installation was not made and I cancelled the service when the technician was still in the houseThey said they would return my $in to business daysI waited, but the money was not refundedI called them times but they did not refund the m

On 5/2/2018, I responded to a paper advertisement flyer for an ADT monitored home security alarm systemThe ad states that you get a free home security system for only a $installation fee, and that monitoring is only $per monthI called 1-877-285-9151, which connected to an ADT authorized contractor called Defenders, Inc(Monmouth St, Newport, KY 41071)I told them that I was simply inquiring to gather information for a system for my children’s apartment in greater Cincinnati, OHThe sales person stated that she was going to ask a series of questions to see if they qualifyOne of the questions she asked was if there was a landline telephone at the residenceI responded, “No there isn’t and that there won’t be, so if you cannot honor the monitoring fee of $per month, then I don’t want to proceed and we can end the call.” She replied, “Since there isn’t a landline telephone, if there is an internet connection (no mention of a VoIP phone or any such internet pho

Called to complain about Defenders running my credit WITHOUT my authorization
Felicia- sighed and said a sly comment under her breath while I was explaining how I did not authorize my credit to be rani then told her to let me speak with a manager and she refused to let me speak to oneplaced me on hold and never went back online
called back again and spoke with
Maya- who got smart mouth with me, spoke back to me and hung up on me!
then spoke with
Laquisha- who said all managers were at a meeting and that no manager was availableThat she would email them but sounded uninterested

The installers were we'll informed and personable, but I would have preferred a little less up-sellingWell pleased

Georgia Power recommended ADT as a partner and offered a discount if so chose to protect my new home with themI set up the installation for Saturday July 14th, paid the $installation and waited for the techThe tech arrived and was courteousHowever, he wasn’t very knowledgeableHe kept walking outside to call his manager about the basic informationThey worked out a deal that added $in activation fees for two remote door locksHe said he was new and didn’t have all the supplies plus because we’d just bought the house we hadn’t had the internet installed and he needed the signal to complete the installI agreed to his return in July 17th to complete the system installOver the next day my husband and I talked and decided we didn’t want to go through with the system because we felt rushed and wanted to make sure we were making an informed decisionI called ADT early on the morning of the 17th but they were unable to reach the tech before our 9am appointmentI also called the techs personal/work phone and was unable to reach himHe arrived about 9:10amMy husband informed him that we were not going to go through with the installWe asked him to come in and take the equipment that was hereHe’d placed three sensors up and the keypad for signal on SaturdayHe removed the unit from the wall and popped off the sensors and headed outI walked in the living room and saw the smoke detectorI called the tech back and asked him to please come back as he left the smoke detectorHe returned and took the last of Defenders/ADT equipmentAt the time that he left my hom I was on the phone with a manager from Defenders explaining why I did not want the serviceHe said he would notate the account and I needed to send in the completed form to cancel service to the number located on the formI followed the instructionsThere was a missing signature and a representative left a voicemail that I needed to forward over the same form but add the signature, she stated my account had been cancelled and I would receive a full refund and the billing would stop (hence the need for the form being correctly filled out)I sent the form back in completed on July (my last day to cancel officially)I did not hear back from the representative that the form was received so I called on the 19thI was told that it was received and my account was cancelled once againI was also told it would be days before my refund was processedIt is now September 20th and I have been on the phone with countless Defenders representatives, some who are very polite and professional, others who were very rude and solidified my choice not to go with DefendersHowever, I am still receiving alerts from my credit card that ADT has tried to process a payment and I have not received a refundI have received text messages stating call because there is an issue with my account, once I call the representative says they don’t know why I received the text and to ignore it as they haven’t had an opportunity to remove me from the listOnce I began receiving letters stating there was still a signal from my home I called and they said they weren’t sure how if the equipment was all goneFinally, someone expressed that they needed to investigate my account and get back to meThe notes on the account were contradictoryAs a consumer I have no control over the representatives who notate the accountI can only go by what they say to meNO ONE has gotten back to me after I’ve called three times to find out the status of the investigationI was told on September that a representative named Aree would get back to me after the last person assigned to review my account did not follow through and to allow 24-hours to hear backI expressed that my family was in mourning and that I’d like to fix the issue and focus on my homeShe assured me I would hear back from her as she was a member of managementI have not heard from her and have returned home from the burial to more letters from ADT and new charges from the companyI am at my wits end with this companyI am owed $Along with any new charges for a system that was never fully installedI know every conversation was in a recorded line please follow up

ON NOVEMBER 26, I HAD CONTRACTED WITH ADT/DEFENDERS TO INSTALL SERVICE AT * *** *** *** *** ** ***
I RELOCATED TO *** * *** *** *** * ON DECEMBER AND HAD ONGOING ISSUES WITH MY ALARM COMMUNICATING WITH THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM, SEVERAL TECHNICIANS CAME OUT AND WAS NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD NOT BE HELD TO THE CONTRACT DUE TO THE ONGOING ISSUES
ON NOVEMBER 29, I DECIDED TO TRY THERE SERVICE AGAIN ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY HAD SENT THE PREVIOUS ACCOUNT TO COLLECTIONS AND THAT I'M STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS
I'VE LITERALLY REACHED OUT TO ADT FOR A MONTH ONLY TO BE TRANSFERRED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THEM AND DEFENDERS;
Example:
I was told that Paul Manager of Customer Service in Indianapolis would send a letter to the collection agency to remove the charge from my credit, (THAT NEVER HAPPENED)
I've spoken with Sam (agent ID 5817) who advised me that my current services I've been pa

This company is in 100% willful violation of US can spam laws by spamming my email account with unsolicited offers for ADT home security They are violating those laws by purchasing or data mining email lists with the intention to mass spam accountsAt no time have I given them permission to spam my email

I contacted ADT to set up the alarm system in my houseThey sent over this individual who claimed to be an ADT employeeI repeatedly asked this individual if they were indeed ADT corporate they danced around the subject then insinuated or intimated that they were indeed owned by ADTto hours into the insulation I find out that they are indeed an external Service providerThe free installation of equipment but I was told on the phone turned out to be between five and $this individual also attempted to get me to sign a contract without terms and conditions He said in the US the terms and conditions come after I sign!!!! What a mn He also made a ridiculous statement saying I could call his personal number They also dug around for a hard copy contract Unfortunate for them I read they small print Nothing in there about a day money back guarantee......dishonest!
My installation technician then turn into a lawyer and told me that how it was normally that you pay and then you see the terms and conditions! Too funny! Complete clowns
I also showed them the reviews for their company on yelpThey're coming was well yes sir but you know it's only people that don't enjoy the experience we service thousands of clientsReally? Over reviews not more than one star? a couple with similar experiences!
These individuals come across his as trustworthy however they are the farthest thing from it
When calling ADT make sure that you are 100% positive about how much you will be spending and if this contractor comes to your house do not let them in they are completely dishonest
Also shame on ADT for allowing individuals such as these to represent their CorporationShe should be much more careful in selecting the individuals that they send to our homes! They are monitoring our homes for security however they sent blatant con men into our homes! I will be filing a complaint with ADT, the Revdex.com and also contacting the Secretary of State regarding this company's business practicesI see that somebody has a class action out there I would love to join
Beware this company when they are in your home
