To Whom It May Concern:   We have received additional correspondence from [redacted] (Revdex.com#[redacted]).  Ms. [redacted] now has questions about the use of her certificate, including the limitation that one only certificate can be used at a time at a participating restaurant.  Please note, Ms. [redacted] received the certificate she references for free as an incentive from one of our marketing partners.  She did not pay for the certificate.    For over 15 years, Restaurant.com has been an established online marketing service for restaurants, currently working with thousands of independent operators across the country to grow their businesses.   Our service is an innovative and cost-effective way for restaurant owners to advertise and market their restaurants at no up-front cost.  Restaurant.com sends customers into the restaurant by offering discounted promotional certificates to consumers on behalf of the restaurant, for which the consumer pays Restaurant.com directly.    Our site works like this:  The consumer can search for participating restaurants in the area.  This first page of restaurant listings includes the name and address of the restaurant, a one sentence description, the price of the certificate, and the minimum purchase amount.  For example, on the $25 dining certificate, the only term shown is: “Minimum purchase of $50.”  Restaurant.com also offers $10 certificates for which the minimum purchase is generally $20, and $5 certificates for which the minimum purchase is generally $10.     We have put multiple measures in place to ensure that our consumers understand our product before their selection.  As with anything in life, however, sometimes people get confused, at no fault of the company they are purchasing from.  Nonetheless, we regret that you were not pleased with our product, as it represents a compelling opportunity for consumers to dine at a significant discount.    Ms. [redacted] can exchange the certificate for use at another participating restaurant.  Restaurant.com lists over 70 participating restaurants in the Atlanta, Georgia area, many of which offer $10 certificate and $5 certificate options.   Restaurant.com is committed to customer service and wants our consumers to be pleased with their purchases.  Ms. [redacted] can contact [redacted] one of our customer service specialists, at [redacted] for assistance with the exchange to the eGift Card, in redeeming the Gift Card for a restaurant specific certificate, and to answer any additional questions she may have.  Thank you.   Sincerely,   [redacted] Restaurant.com   Restaurant.com

An eGift Card is equivalent to store credit.  The redemption of the eGift Card for the restaurant specific certificate occurs electronically on our website.  You redeem each $25 eGift Card for a $25 restaurant dining certificate.  Our website lists over 60 participating restaurants within 10 miles of her zip code.   Here are the instructions on how to redeem an eGift Card: To Redeem your e-Gift card online 1. Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/09) */
To Whom It May Concern:

We have received the complaint of [redacted] (Revdex.com#XXXXXXXX) dated September 30, 2015. We want to thank Ms. [redacted] for contacting Restaurant.com regarding the use of the certificates in her account.

For...

over 10 years, Restaurant.com has been an established online marketing service for restaurants, currently working with thousands of restaurant operators across the country to grow their businesses. Our service is an innovative and cost-effective way for restaurant owners to advertise and market their restaurants at no up-front cost. Restaurant.com sends the customers into the restaurant by offering discounted promotional certificates to consumers on behalf of the restaurant, for which the consumer pays Restaurant.com directly.

Each of the restaurants on our program enters into a binding contract with Restaurant.com, requesting that we offer certificates on behalf of her restaurant. The restaurant's primary obligation under the contract is to honor the certificates when customers present them. To date, Ms. [redacted] has used four certificates and saved over $85.
Ms. [redacted] has additional credits in her account. She has $60 in credit remaining from a $75 eGift Card purchase. She also has another $25 certificate. In total, Ms. [redacted] paid just $11.80 for the $85 in credit in her account.
Ms. [redacted]'s latest purchase occurred about two years. Since that time, we have made several upgrades to our program and the participating restaurants. For example, our website lists over 40 participating restaurants within 15 miles of her zip code, and over 60 participating restaurants within 25 miles of her zip code. I have found that direct communication with [redacted], one of our customer service specialists, is most helpful in resolving these types of issues. Ms. [redacted] may contact [redacted] at [redacted]@restaurant.com.

We are confident that Ms. [redacted] will enjoy her dining experienced and the savings with using her Restaurant.com certificates. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: if you receive the gift card of your choice for face value you should have it clearly stated on your site that gift card value is redeemed for that gift card you choose for face value not an advertized discount if you purchase it in NY where I am from it is false advertizing because it is not stated as such.
