To Whom It May Concern: We have received the complaint of *** *** (Revdex.com#***) dated June 7, 2016. We want to thank Ms*** for contacting Restaurant.com regarding a restaurant in the Saddle Brook, New Jersey areaWe apologize that you are anything but pleased with
our service. For over years, Restaurant.com has been an established online marketing service for restaurants, currently working with thousands of restaurant operators across the country to grow their businessesOur service is an innovative and cost-effective way for restaurant owners to advertise and market their restaurants at no up-front cost. Restaurant.com sends the customers into the restaurant by offering discounted promotional certificates to consumers on behalf of the restaurant, for which the consumer pays Restaurant.com directly. Each of the restaurants on our program enters into a binding contract with Restaurant.com, requesting that we offer certificates on behalf of the restaurant. The restaurant’s primary obligation under the contract is to honor the certificates when customers present them. To date, Ms*** has used over dining certificates saving over $off of her meals. She most recently used a certificate in May Ms*** apparently attempted to use a certificate but the restaurant did not honor it. Ms*** did not identify the restaurant where this occurredThis is contrary to their contractual obligations. Restaurant.com is deeply disappointed by the restaurant’s actions and the discomfort those actions have caused you. We are committed to outstanding customer service. That certificate can be exchanged for a $Restaurant.com eGift Card. An eGift Card is equivalent to store credit. Our website lists over participating restaurants within miles of her zip code and over participating restaurants within miles of her zip code Ms*** can contact *** *** one of our customer service specialists, at ***, about this matter. After Ms*** identifies the restaurant, *** may be able to suggest alternate solutions. At a minimum, *** will be happy to assist with the redemption of the eGift Card, assist with locating a restaurant, confirm that the restaurant will honor the certificate, and to answer any additional questions Ms*** may have. We are confident that Ms*** will continue to enjoy her dining experiences and the savings with using the Restaurant.com certificates. Thank you Sincerely, *** *** Restaurant.com

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I still feel that it should be posted more clearly that if you are using a restaurant.com gift card when ordering on the site the promo discount prices do not apply thus you receive the gift card face value where as if you purchase on your own no gift card you receive a promoprice
Sincerely,
*** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: First of all, they have none of the facts correct. I have never been in Montana. My complaint is about restaurant.com and not the restaurant, but pertains to restaurants in the StLouis area and not Montana. Secondly, I did identify the restaurant that is the most recent to refuse one of the certificates that I purchased. That restaurant was Alumni in StLouis. I also said that they finally did honor the certificate but only after I was humiliated in front of their customers and the waitress when the manager said that I could have dishonestly made a copy of the certificate and used it repeatedly. It was my understanding that restaurant.com insured that the certificates could only be used once and the manager at Alumni says that isn't true. I do not want to be part of a product for which I have to plead my innocence in order to use it. I have had a similar experience at *** *** in Columbia Illinois, *** *** in southern Missouri, *** *** in Columbia IL, etc. Restaurant.com sent me an email saying that I should call the restaurant before going to make sure they are still accepting the certificates. That was not part of the bargain when I purchased them. I bought them with the understanding that they never expire and that I could give them as gifts. If I give them as gifts, I cannot know when my gift recipient is going to use them, so I cannot call ahead to verify that the restaurant is still accepting them. Restaurant.com has not held up their end of the purchase. I understand that a restaurant may go out of business and therefore the certificate is no longer valid. Previously, when this happened, Restaurant.com would notify me in my account after I log on that I would need to exchange my certificate. They no longer do this and my remaining certificate for Alumni was still showing as valid and printable after my experience there where I was told they were no longer participating. If restaurant.com is no longer indicating that certificates are invalid or if they have no way of letting me know that the certificates that I have already paid money for will not be welcomed (and apparently neither will I) then I want my money back. Their solution of offering an exchange for a certificate to another restaurant is first of all, nothing new, as that option is always available to everyone but I have no way of knowing if the restaurant that I exchange for will willingly accept the certificate either. Whether or not I have enjoyed past purchases with them is irrelevant now.
Sincerely,
*** ***
