Do not use this auto parts for any parts what so ever. I ordered two car doors and waited for over 2 months waiting for them to be delivered. Having made 4 appointments for them to be delivered, they never showed up. I waited for 8 hours, missed a whole day of work and I still had to go to the shipping company to pick them up, and pay $40 more dollars just to do so. I recommend using any other company if possible, to avoid hours of pain and too much money spent.

Rock auto has almost anything you would need to repair your car at incredibly low prices. Their shipping dept is outstanding, place your order and within 24 hours (most of the time sooner) your order is on it's way.

Excellent prices! My parts got here in a few days and kudos to whoever packaged my parts... They arrived in perfect condition. As a matter of fact it took longer to unwrap the parts than to install them!

Review: I purchased six boxes of cylinder head bolts Fel Pro part number ES72212 that was listed with a sale price of $23.99 and a quantity of six listed at that price. I completed the purchase and my credit card was charged. I received a order confirmation email the same day March 17th. The next day we were told by phone that the sale price was no longer available but that they did still have the part in stock and I would need to pay $48.89 each instead. I had other items on the order and my office manager instructed them to send the remaining parts and cancel the parts in question and I would call when I was back in town. Last week I called and spoke to someone about the error and asked that receive the parts I contracted to buy at the original price I paid since they still stocked the item. The customer service rep told me that he would not do that. I emailed the company expressing my concern and was told by the Operations Manager [redacted] (no last name given) in an email today March 29th that while they were allowed to send me the in-stock parts at the discounted price, he would not do so because it was not cost effective. On Rock Auto's website they explicitly say that if an item is listed as in-stock then it is in fact in-stock. Also, since I had already completed the order and a confirmation email was sent out listing the parts in question as in stock and ready to ship I believe they may have incorrectly removed the sale items in order to sell them to me at the higher regular price. I looked over their website and there is no mention of when an order is deemed completed and without any listed policy that would say otherwise, then I believe my order was complete the moment my card was charged. Once I completed my order and paid for the items I was then asked to pay more for the items or they would not be shipped. This is dishonest business practice and one that is not practiced by their competitors.Desired Settlement: I would like the six items I ordered at the originally agreed upon and completed price of $23.99 each.

We are sorry that we sold out of the Wholesaler Closeout parts Mr. [redacted] ordered. He chose 6 cylinder head bolts for $23.99 each and 1 valve cover gasket for $10.61. As our Help page explains, closeout parts are our "clearance rack." They:Are new (unless marked "remanufactured") but may be older inventory ("last year's style") and look different than our regular inventory of the same part (a different color, for example, with a grease fitting newer parts do not have, or lacking hardware which was sold separately in the past)Were acquired at discounted prices from companies liquidating inventory (because they were overstocked, decided to carry a different brand, went out of business, etc.)Are limited to quantity on hand and cannot be replaced with regular inventory at the same price.When our warehouse notified us of the shortage, we contacted Mr. [redacted]’s office manager and refunded the cost of the parts, plus their associated shipping. No additional action is required.

Great Prices and always the right part

I have been ordering from Rock Auto for many years. Their prices are good, their catalog is accurate, and their delivery is always very quick.
I always ask my DIY auto repair friends if they have heard of Rock Auto. And recommend their website to them if they have not heard.

Review: I ordered some auto parts from Rock Auto on Sat. Feb. 8th I believe. I had the choice of ground shipping of 4-5 days for around $9 or 2-3 day express mail for an additional $4 or so. I chose the 2-3 day shipping because I needed the parts. I received an email from them stating the parts shipped on Feb. 10th with a delivery of Feb. 12th. On Feb. 13th I contacted customer service, I spoke with Alex who was less then serviceable; I told him that I still did not receive my parts that I ordered and I felt I should get a refund of the shipping price difference, all of $3 or $4. He said there is no refund to be given. I asked to speak with someone higher up than him such as a manager and he told me there is no one to speak to. I hung up on him and did an internet search to find management names. I found the name of [redacted] and [redacted] of Rock Auto. I got his voicemail and left him a message stating my dissatisfaction with my experience. I still have not heard back from them. I have bought many many parts from this company in the past and have had good service and thought they could make this right.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the shipping difference. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the principle of the matter. Why offer something when you don't stand behind it??

disappointed in USPS' Priority Mail shipping. He chose Priority Mail,

which typically has a shipping time estimate of 1-3 business days,

but the USPS does not guarantee any of its delivery times. The part

shipped on Monday, February 10 and was estimated to reach him

Wednesday, February 12, not taking into account inclement winter weather.

The part arrived to his shipping location Saturday, February 15,

after being in transit 4 business days. We are sorry he was

disappointed in the shipping time, but since this is not a guaranteed

method of shipping, we are unable to refund shipping costs for a

service that was paid for and received within a reasonable time

frame, according to USPS.

can understand his reasoning and want to address his concerns. As we

understand it, he chose the more expensive shipping option because it

was listed with a shorter delivery time estimate, which he expected

to receive, for the additional $3.92. If it will resolve his

complaint, we will refund this amount back to his PayPal account,

since the shipping service he actually received arrived in the

"Ground" service time of 4 business days that he saw on our

site, rather than the shorter Priority Mail estimate he saw on our

site. We have set up this $3.92 refund, to be issued back to his

PayPal account within the next few business days. He will be emailed

automatically when refunded.

We

wish to emphasize that this is an exception to our normal policy,

given that USPS Priority Mail does not have a guaranteed ship time.

Due to the ever-changing nature of mail carrying, including weather

and other factors outside of RockAuto's control, it would be

unreasonable for us to set a ship time guaranty on any USPS packages.

However, we hope this customer will give us a chance again in the

future, given our willingness to make an exception to the normal lack

of guaranty and with our FedEx Ground and Express guaranteed ship

time options in mind.

Review: I purchased a blower motor resistor part number 973-426. The price was $8.05. The shipping was $3.87. The part burned up and was defective. One option was to order another and return that one as defective afterward. I ordered another part I was in need of along with it, not thinking anything of it. I sent the defective one back and recieved an email that my total credit was $1.09. The price of the part minus $6.62 return shipping. They had determined that the cost for shipping just that part was 6 cents, since I had ordered it along with something else. I don't see how this is fair. Realistically, after paying for the part twice and recieving a disgusting amount of a credit, I've paid $22.75 for this part, plus the run around to return it. I can get it up the road for less than $15, without any hassle. Their return policy is a joke.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my full purchase price for the original part, plus shipping for the original part, that is what a morally straight company would do. Rockauto should also negotiate return shipping into its contracts with manufacturers and distributors, so they can provide customers with better experiences.

Our Warranties page explains that, like other retailers of branded products, RockAuto does not offer any product warranty of our own--we honor the warranty provided by the manufacturer of the product. Warranties offer only replacement of the defective part with another part: no cash refunds, shipping costs, or other expenses (http://www.rockauto.com/docs/warranty.php). As a courtesy to our customers, RockAuto covers one direction of 2-way shipping when providing a warranty replacement part. Though he is not eligible for a refund on his original order, Mr. [redacted] is eligible for a replacement part under the warranty. He was directed to place a new order to get the replacement part shipped and that he would receive a refund for the replacement part and outbound shipping, once the faulty unit was returned. He would simply need to cover the return shipping cost. Mr. [redacted] chose to order his replacement part along with another item, and used a 5% discount coupon. When we refunded him for the outbound shipping, we refunded a portion of it, based on the incremental increase when multiple items are shipped together. He also chose to generate a return-shipping label using our FedEx Ground service, and approved that cost to be deducted from his refund. The credit itemization is as follows: Part: $8.05 + Original Shipping: $0.06 - Return Shipping Deduction: $6.62 - Discount: $0.40 = $1.09. No further refund is owed.

As I originally stated, with the amount I have paid out of pocket for the return and replacement of the failed part they sold to me, I would have saved money by just outright purchasing a new part locally and throwing away the failed part. That doesn't portray good customer service, nor is it a good business practice.

I've been using Rock Auto for many of my parts for several months now. Often they have the lowest prices available and have a wide selection of parts for my vehicles, and the shipping is usually pretty quick. I often recommend them to others. In the VERY rare instances that there has been a problem with my order, they have been more than courteous, professional, and speedy in addressing and solving the issue. Plus, I love the cool magnets that they send with the orders, it's like a prize in a cereal box.
