This customer was a monthly paying customer and they cancelled back in mayThere was no refund due, however we refunded them back the last month of coverage as a good will

I am rejecting this response because: This is my experience with SELECT HOME WARRANTY.In and around February I called SELECT HOME WARRANTYfor a warranty on my homeThe sales representative I spoke with gave meseveral quotes, first it was $yearly then it went down to $then it wentdown again to $I decided to take the one for $monthly which was thebest package with a $deductible fee Around June Ihad two small leaks in two separate bathroomsI called select and was told Iwould be responsible for paying $seeing this was two separate problems, Iagreed to payThe contractor came and fixed both leaks, this was done on aSaturdayOn Sunday I hear a blood curling scream from my granddaughterdownstairs, I ran thinking that the baby had died but what I found was watergushing from the pipe, there was so much water it had soaked through the carpetin the foyer , I somehow turn off thewater and found out that the plumber had not secured the connection properlythus causing it to break loose I calledthe plumber and explain the problem, he return and instead of an reimbursing mefor the water damage he gave me a key to the water meter stating if the watercompany ever turned off my water for nonpayment this key could be used to turnit onI called SELECT HOME WARRANTY and told them of my experience again noapology.The second time I had a problem with my garbage disposal; Icall SELECT HOME WARRNTY and told them the garbage disposal was not turning on.They dispatched a Plumber but, before the plumber arrived they call me and Iagain stated what was going on, they intern told me that was not a plumbingproblem but an electrical problem, they did not come outI waited for a couplemonths as I had to be with my dad in another stateOn my return I calledSELECT HOME WARRNTY, It took almost a month with me going back and forth withthem to send someone out to fix the problem, instead I got an email statingthat I need to have the repairs done and they would reimbursed me the money IpaidI told them I will not and after five weeks of waiting I sent complaintsto the Revdex.com and cancelled my contractOnce this was done I got a call from a supervisor by thename of Rick, he left me several voice messages and emails, I got in touch withRick and he assured me he will take care of this repair and he would reimburseme the deductible since this situation had taken so long for them to addressed.I would need to send him an invoice and he would request the $deductible back,he again dispatched a plumberWhen the plumber arrived I paid him $and heconfirmed the problem was not plumbing related but an electrician was needed todo the jobI called SELECT HOME WARRANTY and an electrician was sent and theproblem was resolvedI emailed Rick the invoice and he assured me that it willtake to days for the refund to be processedOn Wednesday 13thof January I sent an email to Rick requesting a status only to received severalemail stating that no refund was processedOn January 11th I got up to take something out ofmy refrigerator and found it to be warm with everything melting in the freezersection, I sent an email to SELECT HOMEWARRANTY and received an email with the contractor informationIt took thecontractor days to come to my homeHe diagnosed the problem as the unit hasa bad compressor that needs to be replacedThe warranty does includecompressor so I assumed that SELECT HOME WARRANTY would either replaced thecompressor or replaced the unitSince this was an emergency I called SELECTHOME WARRANTY and spoke with a supervisor who informed me that they will not approved a claim for this compressorand came up with another name such as Sealed system- I explained to thissupervisor that on the order the contractor left mentioned nothing about aSEALED SYSTEMAgain I was told unfortunately THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS REPAIRbut I could have the repair done and pay out of pocket and they will thinkabout reimbursing me a percentage of what was paidI again paid thiscontractor $only to be turned down once again by SELECT HOME WARRANTYcompany

Select Home Warrant has advised the customer that we do not cover replacement of wiring, which in this case it repair that is required.As per the technicians diagnostic, the outlet is bad and needs to be replaced as well as the wiringWe are aware of the repair entails, and have reviewed the matter and it is a non-covered issue

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I spoke with someone at SHW and he declined to pay for the service calls saying I did not call the service approval department while my serviceman was hear in order to get prior approval I DID call SHW with the serviceman here in order to get approval but both times I was sent to voicemail The serviceman couldn't wait around to continue calling (after a couple of attempts) because he had other service calls on his schedule It should not be my responsibility to hold a serviceman here before he can even start the job if SHW doesn't answer the phone In both cases, the heating system & the hot water heaters needed to be repaired or replaced It was cold outside when heater wasn't working & we didn't have hot water when the hot water heaters went out Regards, [redacted]

We did speak tot he customer and reissued another refund checkThey did not get the first one that was mailed on 11/We have waived the cancellation fees on the new check

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I do not appreciate the way their company refused to find a contractor to fix my electrical issue! Their company is unreliable and has poor customer serviceI would have never have wasted my money on them if I had know they treated customers unfairly!!! Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: the subject of the claim is not a freon leak It is a broken indoor coil Select Home Warranty is incorrectly categorizing it as a freon leak to avoid funding the indoor coil repair This complaint will be moved further to the State Attorney's office of New Jersey citing consumer fraud based on state statute 56:8-Scheme Not to Sell Item or Service Advertised: The advertisement of merchandise as part of a plan or scheme not to sell the item or service so advertised is an unlawful practice and a violation of the Consumer Fraud Act of the State of New Jersey The correct resolution of this complaint is for Select Home Warranty to correctly categorize the claim as an indoor coil repair, as specified in the invoice provided to us by the service technician assigned by Select Home Warranty who investigated and diagnosed our HVAC system Regards, [redacted]

The customer electrical system needs an upgradeIssue like this are not covered , please see section UpgradesThis Agreement does not cover upgrades to any system or appliance

Selct Home Warranty has refunded the customer transaction ID# [redacted] - as of 2/9/2015.We now consider this matter closed and really would have liked to assist the customer further

Claims that are approved for repairs are provided approval number and a reimbursement agreementI do not see that either of those were provided to the customerIf your claim has been approved please provide us with the approval number given as well as the reimbursement agreement and I will be able to honor the approval

The customer was sent a Refund check back on 10/22/ The customer was contacted via email and they verified the mailing address and we mailed the check.The customer's account has been refunded and closed for months

Select Home Warranty will be mailing a refund check to the customer today

We did speak with the customer and the tech and are assisting with the dispatch

Tell us why here...On 03/02/the customer placed a claim for their washingmachine, we assigned a technician and they diagnosed the washer as needing anouter tub and stator motor Select HomeWarranty determined that the repairs exceeded the actual value of the washingmachineSelect Home Warranty did explain this to the customer andadvised that we have followed the Terms of Agreement in this matter.The customer does not agree with Select Home Warrantys’findings, but, they did send the Terms & Conditions back signed andinitialed that they reviewed and agree with the Terms set forth.Select Home Warranty has entered the customer account intothe cancellation process
