I want my $39.99 back which they took on 8/16 for the toolkit I do not want Shaw Academy I was on a trail bases but I do not want all I want to do is cancel and get my money back now

Because they are going to refund my money back like I asked them too

Wrongly charged For full service that wasn't specified.
On August 5th I signed up for the 4 week free trial course. I thoroughly read through the form and saw that they would charge you 69.99 after the trial period. On August 11th I logged in to attend my evening class and no where on the app showed the class to start. I selected The Class Module and the class popped up. I checked my account the following day due to another issue and low and behold I was charged the course fee. I emailed and they stated the trial period script and I then sent back showing that if only had the program for 7 days. 5 emails later the rebuttal was that I select the course module which unlocks all courses. None of this was outlined anywhere and no notification or alert was shown to state this. To top it off, I NEVER received an invoice or email stating the charge and reason. Additional charges etc are to be stated and laid out to the consumers. It seems that this company does anything they can to get money from people and then refuse to help or refund. I need my money back or I will pursue legal action as I have seen a great amount of people treated the same so we will push to have them shut down. During this time when we are all enduring hardship across the board, it is pathetic that companies scam and steal when we are trying to progress financially as well as pursue our dreams.

I haven't received an email response back either from them.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund as well as an apology. The website needs to full detail all stipulations and outline everything thoroughly instead of typing up guidelines case by case.

I received a call today for feedback and some offers. I asked the caller to email me. To my surprise, they upgraded my account and charged premium.
I trier three of their courses as a hobby which I honestly cannot attend due to busy schedule. I was planning to cancel before the expiry of the free trial on Aug 22. Today, aug 14, I received a call from the academy asking for feedback. The caller was offering some stuff which I cannot hear clearly because signal is poor. So I asked him to email me instead. I received an email from Moegamat B and to my surprise he was already saying that I upgraded my account. I checked my profile and I was charged 3760 philippine peso on my credit card for a 12 month subscription. I emailed again asking him to reverse it but received no reply. I immediately cancelled my registration but I have already been charged for a whole year. I want to reverse this charge.

I would like them to reverse the 3760 philippine peso charged to my credit card and cancel my membership.

I feel that it's unfair because it was not me who did the one-click renewal but from their end. It would not also count as auto renewal because the end of my trial is supposedly on August 22.

I have confirmed with my credit card company and they said that the reverse is already processing and will be credited to my next billing. Thank you for your help.

I was charged $69.99 two months after I cancelled my free trial. It has been very difficult to work with Shaw Academy on a refund and cancellation.
Ticket numbers XXXXXXX for initial request of cancellation in JUNE, and XXXXXXX for current email thread requesting refund that is still ongoing.
On June 12, 2020 I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy, and quickly decided I wanted to cancel it. On June 14, 2020 I emailed customer service looking for help with cancelling my subscription so that I would not be charged any money.
First of all, I felt disrespected because the first few emails that were sent to me in response ignored my request entirely. I spoke with "Megan." They said they were sorry I wanted to leave, and tried very hard to convince me that the best thing for me is to keep my subscription. They actually extended the trial, and sent very long, detailed messages about all the wonderful things I would miss out on. It was very condescending - like they were not happy I wanted out and were just telling me that it was a terrible idea. Instead of listening to my request and resolving it, they pushed that they knew what was best for me. Basically, it was like pulling teeth just trying to get them to accept the fact that I wanted to cancel!!
So, finally I am directed to a tab in my account on the website where I can cancel my subscription plan. I do everything I am supposed to, I consider the problem taken care of. Fast forward to August 10, 2020 and I am charged $69.99 by Shaw Academy! And the website says my subscription ends on September 7. What the ***, Shaw?? I asked for a cancellation and your rep chooses to do the exact opposite WITHOUT my permission: extend my service so that I will be charged in two months??? This is absolutely shady, unprofessional, and straight up wrong.
I emailed again this week trying to get my $69.99 refunded, and was told by "Richard" that within 1-2 business days the "relevant team" would update me. It's now been 3 business days and I'm still waiting for an update.
This has been such an unnecessarily frustrating process, and I will not let someone STEAL $70 of my hard-earned money from me and my family. Shaw needs to refund me and never charge me again or I will go to higher powers.

I am seeking a full refund of $69.99 and confirmation that I will never be charged again. I want to be completely erased from Shaw's data files after they give me my money back. I don't want anything to do with this company ever again.

ShawAcademy charged my CC although I tried to cancel the membership before the period renew
I enrolled in the MONTHLY PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP on 7/6/20 when I was charged the card validation fee of $0.50. Shaw had the monthly program advertised as FIRST MONTH FREE as long as the membership was cancelled before the renewal period. I tried their courses and did not really like them so I decided to cancel it on 8/3/20. Unfortunately, the website interface did not allow me to decline the membership as it was showing my membership to be INACTIVE. On 8/3/20 I was charged for the monthly subscription the amount of $69.99. I reached out to them through the integrated messaging system on their website and got a response from RYAN on 8/4/20 saying "Having checked your account, I see that you are not under any paid subscription and not entered your payment details. So, it is not required to cancel anything." I sent a second message informing them that I was charged for the renewal on 8/3/20 , demanding a refund as I was unable to cancel the renewal from the website. The second message I received from MASON said "I am sorry for that charges I am help your Request Having checked your account, I see that you are not under any paid subscription as you had registered through ***@gmail.com " and not entered your payment details. So, it is not required to cancel anything." I followed up with proof of the charges made to my Credit Card that was REGISTERED from teh beginning and mentioned that I am expecting the full refund of $69.99 otherwise I will make a complaint. I have yet to receive any refund or response to the last message I sent. I am very upset of the way I was treated by this company and came to find out that I am not the only one that was "scammed" into buying 1 month of subscription although I did all due dilligence to cancel renewal.

I contacted Shaw on the provided address and the case has been resolved. They found the glitch in their system and refunded the funds to my account immediately.

I signed up for the free trial and was charged...twice!
I signed up for the free trial and then found out that my credit card was charged $69. I spoke with a rep that tried to convince me to not cancel my free trial, but I cancelled anyway. I submitted a formal request because there is no phone number to get a hold of the company. After I received a response back saying that I signed up for the subscription (which I did not), so minutes later I logged into my account and noticed I had been charged a second time for $69. This is very unethical and their customer service is non existent. I wrote them back after receiving the one response and I have not heard anything since. I would like a credit for the two charges of $69 since I did not sign up for this service.

Please see information above. I would like a full refund of $138 because I did not sign up for the service.

The fact that I am not the only one that has gone through this is proof that this company is shady. I clicked on the free trial version and to be clear if I did click on the monthly subscription, I was never notified or emailed about the subscription. All I know is that my boss asked me why there is a $69 charge from Shaw Academy. I immediately began looking into the matter and by the time I had received a general response back, I logged into my account and "coincidentally" I was charged a second time and it had not even been a month. Glad that my "auto renewal" is canceled and that I do not have to do business with this company again.

Charged my card without my permission or notification.
I subscribed for a free online course. The academy said they would notify me by email once my free trial is over so I could choose my membership plan.

I was not notified by email and I could not log in to my account. So I emailed them twice to cancel my membership, without any response.

Then I check my account and notice I was charged 69.99 on August 3rd without my permission.

I have evidence of all my email communication with them.

I am requesting a refund after been charged months after I cancelled with Shaw Academy.

Looking something to do during quarantine, I signed up with Shaw Academy on May 23rd, 2020 for a 4 weeks free trial. On June 19th, 2020 I decided to cancel with them. An email was received stating that cancellation was confirmed. However, when I checked my bank account on August 5th, 2020 I realised that my account was charged for a sum of approximately USD$70.43 which is equivalent to XCD$190.16. I have searched the Internet for a contact number and there is none. I found a complaint site for them and I have lodged two complaints and all I am getting is automated messages asking me to give them 48hrs. Many 48hrs have passed *** still nothing. Money is not easy to come by especially in a time like this. I am very hurt and angry. I even tried messaging them on Facebook and nothing. I feel scammed because I have no business with them.

I will accept their response since they have agreed to give me a full refund. However, their claim about me making a purchase via their auto-renewal option never occurred. Shaw Academy stated that once you cancel your membership before the 4 weeks you would not be charged. Hence, I cancelled my membership on June 19th, 2020 which is a few days before I would have been charged. Since that cancellation I did not went on the site.

Nonetheless, they still continued to send me email promoting their programmes etc. I even received a call on July 3rd, 2020 from this number +XXXXXXXXXXXX where a male was telling me that he noticed I dropped out and that he will send me an email with some offer of a discount so I can continue if I want. I declined because I had no intention of continuing as I was done since I cancelled the membership.

The one time after June 19th that I tried accessing their site was to delete my card information after my account was charged on August 5th; and when I attempted to go on I was unsuccessful as they were telling me that I have no account with them. Hence, I have no idea what they're talking about me purchasing something when I am basically none existent according to their system. They need to stop this. It's not cool and it's wrong. This has certainly been an eye opener.

Did not complete the sign up process for a free trial, yet was still charged $69.99. Upon contacting the company they were rude and unprofessional.
I signed up for a free trial period July 14th 2020, I did not complete the registration process because as I began filling out the form I started to doubt whether this was a legitimately company or a scam. I closed my browser window and decided to not proceed any further with the additional detailed Information about my background and career that were requesting from me. I received many, many text and emails a day after this. I received multiple text from different numbers and so many spam emails. After receiving texts from 3 different phone numbers I unsubscribed from text communication and opted out on Aug 2nd 2020. I was beginning to feel harassed to sign up for their program I never schedule a "first day" to start courses, never received any course material, or proceeded with the "class". However 4 weeks later, I was charged $69.99 for a subscription. Upon contacting them to "cancel" I had to jump through many hoops. They make you fill out 5 web pages all having to "go to next form" to cancel, where it finally gives you a message that you have to call to cancel. I called, I spoke with a lady named Shantelle H, who was extremely unprofessional. It was incredibly difficult to hear her, there was loud laughter and music in the background, she kept wanting to send me course material and to activate my account after I repeatedly told her I didn't want to activate the account I wanted to cancel. I had to ask multiple times and push her to finally get the information in order to email and request a refund. After talking with her I immediately emailed them stating the situation and requesting a refund- clearly they can see I never even started any type of course material. I was met with a response that they wouldn't refund me but could extend my access to course material from 6 months to 12 months which I repeatedly told them I wasn't interested in because I never started the class to begin with. I am now aware that this company is a scam and I have no idea why business' like this are allowed to operate in this manner.

As stated above, I never completed to sign up process. I never registered for courses or selected a start date, I also unsubscribed from texting commutation on August 2nd. I am not interested in "extending my access" to course material that I never accessed in the first place.

Have been charged for free trial and money been taken from my account for the purchase I have not made
I have signed up with Shaw academy on 10th of July for a free course. My husband brought to my attention on 9th of August that I have been charged for my course. I have emailed them straight away and was told that I should have cancelled my membership on a 7th of August. I have question terms and conditions and said that email was supposed to be sent two days earlier as reminder and I have never received it. I asked for refund based on this, I have been told that refund can't be processed and they can give me lots of things for free instead. I said thank but no thanks as felt really cheated. I asked again re email with reminder and I was ignored. After that my husband noticed that on 30th of July I was charged $34.95. I sent another email on 10th of August asking what was this charge for, I have been told I purchased a certificate. I did not. I have ask for immediate refund but was told it is impossible. I said how come if I haven't purchased anything and I was charged for it I can't be refunded. Once again I was told I can get some free things which I refused and ask for refund. I was ignored since. I would like a full refund for the supposing free course and certificate I did not buy.

Amount of $70 was deducted for trial class and now they refuse to refund and offer 6 month trial course !!!!
I enrolled my daughter to trail Graphic design classes to check her interest on that topic. During enrollment it was clearly mentioned that amount will not be deducted right away and will be used to deduct only if we wish to continue after 4 week trial ends.
There was no much content in the first class. There was a button at the bottom to unlock Module 1 and no cost was mentioned against it (unlike for toolkit which says $40). We unlocked the module and bam.. $70 was deducted from the credit card used during registration!! We would have anyway completed the module 1 during the free trial. Why was I charged for this??? How in the world are we supposed to know about the hidden costs! Shaw academy is a conducting a scam in the name of education!!
We enrolled our daughter only to know her interest level so that she could have continued if she liked it in future!
Now, they are refusing to give the refund and saying membership is cancelled and 6 month total access is provided!
I just want my money back and never want to associate with this fraud company ever again !!!!!

I do not want the free courses that they are now offering. I want the money which is reightfully mine. They deducted $70 for a free trial class and I want it back. It will be even good if some legal action is taken against such fraudulent !! Eductiaon is not a joke and people who make it as a scam should be put behind bars.

Hi, I am happy that I am getting my refund and I would like to thank Revdex.com for that. But what Shaw academy telling is a lie. I never purchased their premium membership !! I just enrolled to their free trial class and deducted the money on first day itself for unlocking module 1 which was part of trial class. There was no charges mentioned against it and module 1 is what we were currently going through in trail class. Why deduct money for the same??
I have not enrolled to monthly subscription and no auto pay is granted.
They are scammers and this is just another lie.

As already mentioned, there was no cost mentioned against any of the unlock module buttons (otherwise we wouldn't have clicked it) unlike the tool box which was for purchase for $49. Also during my several conversation with Shaw academy members, came to know that they are facing the same issue from others too. So looks like this is their deliberate action to take money from people. This has to stop and they have to make those corrections on their website if they are a genuine education providers.

"Single purchases. If a student purchases an E-cert or toolkit from the members area, by checkout page or single click purchase, refunds cannot be provided without just cause, as defined by incorrect content or pricing. The case is the same for the one time payment to proceed directly to module 2".

Shaw academy took £49.99 from my bank account from a 4 week free trial I had cancelled a month ago
I signed up for a free 4 week trial on 11/07/2020 and cancelled it on 14/07/2020 since I wasn't satisfied with what I was getting. recently I had noticed that I received a charge on my card on 07/08/2020 for £49.99, When I opened my account it says it is active, but I have evidence from when I cancelled it, so I cancelled the subscription AGAIN on 08/08/2020 when I googled this issue I read about the hundreds of people with this same issue with Shaw academy. refund me for the £49,99 transaction

The means provided by the company to cancel and to confirm cancellation of a billed subscription are dead ends.
On 13 August 2020 I registered for a 4 week free trial subscription to Shaw Academy's writing course. Credit card details were required to complete registration, which is standard across most subscription services.

Upon completing registration my email address was sent several emails from Shaw Academy. Upon following up, the company was pushing hard for me to download an app and to buy additional add-on packages which enabled aspects of the course I had assumed would be included in the free trial. I decided to cancel as the course wasn't at all what I had expected from the advertising material.

Within one hour of registering, I proceeded to the membership page and requested to cancel my subscription. I was directed to call a telephone number, which I have never seen before when cancelling an online subscription, and to provide a student ID to confirm my cancellation.

The telephone number is in service, but the menu is intentionally misleading. It requires that you confirm four times by pressing "2". Between each confirmation there is a long sales pitch. After the fourth confirmation the recorded message says that your membership has been cancelled and that you will receive an email within an hour. HOWEVER, at no point did they collect any information that could link the cancellation request to my account! This is clearly a scam.

I demand that the company cancel my subscription immediately and amend its cancellation procedure to conform to industry standards.

Desired Outcome

Shaw Academy must contact me via email and, quoting my student ID, confirm cancellation of my account and that no fees will be charged.

Wont refund me. Complained by ***@gmail.com. no response.
I emailed them to cancel my membership, but I was still charged. I have emailed them to get this resolved & its been over a week with no response yet. I cancelled my membership before they charged me again and I still got the money taken out.

Desired Outcome

I want the money they took from me back, as well as some compensation for overdrafting my account.

I already emailed and complained that I didn't want to continue after the free trial and I was still charged. I cancelled from the website 5 days before the free trial was over.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE, I subscribed for free one month trail, then canceled the next day for unauthorized charge, got charged for one click purchase...
I registered for free one month trail on interior design on august 11th. The next day, I saw a charge on my bank account of 39.99 that I didn't authorized. First thing I did was cancel my account via web page and phone customer service, explained to them I was charged for something I didn't request thus wanted my account canceled, eventually they gave me an email for billing. Contacted billing requesting a refund and their answer was that I couldn't get refund because I purchased an "e certificate" via one click purchase pop up. No where in the pop up says that you are going to be charged, eventually I clicked on it by mistake, since I wasn't finished with the courses why would I want that (And I only took one class and even received an email stating that I had no attendance and I had missed my first class, so WHY WOULD I WANT A CERTIFICATE?) . Still requested a refund over email because I did not want an e certificate nor will I EVER use it. They went on offering me several things and I quote from them "This is far in excess of what you paid and you can download and access these for life" but I don't understand how they are able to offer me more things far more costly than the 39.99 unauthorized charged I was being made. I contacted them again via customer service call, but they have EXTREMELY poor customer service, since it's only that for cancellations and no billing department can be reached thru the phone and their only answer is "I can offer you the billing email so you can reach them". I don't want any more offers or activation of accounts with them, I only want refund of the 39.99dlls charged without any actual consent from my bank account, and to ENSURE my account is forever canceled and nothing ever gets charged since I used it for one hour from the one month free trail and they even said that I missed it. Not interested in a business that charges without consent and is not willing to refund at first hand for unused material etc.

I would like confirmation that I have been unenrolled from the free tail and my account canceled, and I would like my money back, refund of the 39.99 unauthorized charge.

Won't refund subscription
I had a free trial for the graphics design course and I canceled it because I did not like the class at all. Then I look at my bank account and there is a charge from Shaw academy for $69.99. I emailed them asking for a refund and I was told they won't refund me but they'll give me 12 free months! The $69.99 is already the cost for 12 months! They're just offering to give me what I paid for and not give my money back.

I received 2 unrecognized charges from this company which I unsubscribed from, now I demand a refund for a service I never asked and never used
On June 16, 2020 I subscribed to the Shaw Academy site for the first time for a free 30-day trial. After the service and its methodology did not interest me, I withdrew my subscription that same week to avoid being charged in the future, because I had already made a token payment of 0. 50 EUR with them through Paypal on my VISA x-3217 account (Paypal transaction ID: 33HXXXXXXMXXXXXXC) which was refunded that same day (Paypal transaction ID: 6ACXXXXXMXXXXXXXP), on August 11, 2020 I received a notification from Paypal for a payment of 49.99 EUR on my VISA x-3217 account (Paypal transaction ID: 55MXXXXXXSXXXXXXU) that had just been debited from my account, which I discovered had also been debited from my account earlier on July 17, 2020 for the same amount 49.99 EUR on my VISA x-3217 account (Id. Paypal transaction ID: 96BXXXXXUGXXXXXXN), so I logged in to view my account status within the Shawn Academy website, where I now appear with a premium membership.

Desired Outcome

I demand a refund of the 99.98 EUR charged to my VISA *** account through paypal, as I am not interested in any of their services and that my personal information is removed from their database

They charge you, don't want to refund you, make it extremelyyyyyyyy difficult to cancel your membership. "Upgrade" you without your knowledge and of course you have to pay for that. THEY SHOULD BR ASHAMED OF HOE THEY SCAM PEOPLE. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

This company is offering a free month trial, but you need to enter payment info. Then directs you to a place to buy a toolkit, you are then charged.
My daughter signed up for a free month trail from Shaw Academy. She was required to put her payment info in even though she would not be charged until the 4 week trail was up. She chose for the site not to save her payment info. She was directed to a place to order a tool kit, upon seeing it was 39.99 she declined. She was charged the 39.99 and did not consent to it. She tried calling the number listed and after not getting a response emailed the Shaw Academy. She was told they could not refund her because the items were emailed and needed downloaded. She responded and told them she never consented to have her payment info saved and did not want this tool kit. They are telling her she can not be refunded. This is very shady to direct customers to another page for more purchases. Furthermore when you select to not have info stored and it still saves it to charge you for a purchase that you decline, that is dishonest and deceitful. I would like a refund for this purchase.

I signed up for a free course. Then I got offered other products which are optional, however, all payments are one-click
When you sign up for the free 4-week course, you will be offered the Web Developer Toolkit, which is optional. However, they do not make it very obvious that the transaction is one-click, especially on the phone, as it has a different light color, which is deceiving.

Desired Outcome

I want to be fully refunded, and want the company to discard their one click purchases. What is a free trial should not come with hidden charges while I have not purchased the membership. And please stop sending offers, we want to experience the product first without products getting shoved in our faces. I won't even use their product even if you give away a full course. This is a pathetic business practice and should be stopped. Allow people to review purchases.
