Shaw Academy has charged my bank with an unauthorised illegal amount.
I signed up for a 4-week free trial with Shaw Academy. After 5 days (within 1 week) my debit card was charged with an amount of $69.99. I raised an inquiry with Shaw Academy (Preston / Werner / Monica / Student Support / etc.) I was advised that I had not cancelled the free trial before the end pf 4 weeks. I explained that I had been on the trial for less than 1 week, so the trial had definitely not expired. I was then advised that Shaw Academy does not issue refunds and they are "giving"me 6 months free courses, etc. I advised Shaw Academy that I wanted nothing further from them except my refund of the unauthorized funds they have deducted from my account. Up until yesterday I have been receiving irrelevant e-mails from Shaw Academy pressing yet more offers on me and asking me why I have opted out of their programs???? I have sent at least 3 e-mails to Shaw Academy requesting a refund, and they blithely ignore my requests. I notice that my subscription status on the Shaw Academy platform shows "Premium" - I did not ask for this. I want this resolved. I need to have confirmation I will receive my refund, that there will be zero future deductions by them, and zero future offers sent to me by Shaw Academy.

I am (once again) requesting a refund for the money you deducted from my bank account illegally and without authorization.

When you unlocked the module 2 the system automatically switches your account to a premium membership which was already explained in the terms and conditions which you accepted during the registration process. However as a goodwill gesture we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

Just to keep you updated:
After reading so many reviews online (belatedly I know, right) about Shaw Academy I noted that they had deducted multiple funds from students bank cards'- even after the students had cancelled their services. This led me to safe-guard my remaining funds and so I felt the need to cancel the bank card used on their system. Of course this is a huge inconvenience to me and also I have to scramble to sort all of the other ethical transactions running off that card. So, the card is cancelled to avoid further deductions from Shaw Academy.

Shaw Academy states that they will process my refund of $69.99. As my card is cancelled, I have sent a request to be refunded thru my Paypal account to their mailbox: ***@shawacademy.com. This mailbox id has been provided to me by Shaw Academy. Hopefully they make good on their word and I receive the refund.

I will then gladly respond to whether the question of whether the resolution is satisfactory. I just don't want to act too hastily and say all is resolved, and then they don't follow thru on the refund.

Hope that explains things from my side.

Thanks once again for your tremendous and genuine help.

P.S. before you reached out to them, they just outright refused to refund me.

I have tried to cancel my Shaw academy membership for some time now and when I call the number to cancel it says my student ID is incorrect.
I have typed the exact number that the website gives you so I don't know what the problem is but I would like to resolve this and confirm my cancellation before I am charged.

I signed up for the 4 weeks trial for online classes, after attempting to take a class I was unsatisfied . I canceled and they took money anyway.
I attempted to take a class but felt it wasnt what I wanted, after several attempts to cancel I decided to remove my payment information from the site. After getting emails from them about not going to class I checked to make sure I wouldnt be charged. I try canceling online and the website gave me a number to call, after about an hour of ensuring that I wanted to cancel the recording said it take 24 hours to go through. 3 days later they charged my account anyway leaving me with a negative account balance. when I emailed them to get a refund they emailed me back and said I never canceled I activated my account.

i want my money back they should be closed for defrauding people

Shaw academy stated I used an unfamiliar email address and that is why they can not refund me, That is a lie I have every email from when I signed up to now. They have even try to tell my payment didnt go through , I have bank records that it did.

Never cancelled membership, charged my account, refuses to cancel membership until 2021
Subscribed to Shaw Academy to test out their curriculum and was not satisfied. Called to cancel my enrollment to not be billed for the month as I was not going to use it and was told it would cancel before I was charged yet I was still charged regardless of what the employee stated. Wrote back to them to say that it was not cancelled when I was told it would have been and now they are refusing refund and well as cancelling my account immediately. The employee stated it would be cancelled in 2021 even when I am not using it and have not used it since the initial contact stating I wanted to end the subscription.

Desired Outcome

I would really like my membership to just end when they told me it would end in August 2020 like I was originally told and not be charged for this month or any other month ever.

The business has left me 100% satisfied with their response.

I called to cancel my free trial, entering the student number that shaw academy provided me with, but the automated voice said that it was invalid.
I signed up for a 4 week free trial with Shaw Academy on August 9th 2020. They advertised that this would be fully free and that you could cancel it at any time. I took a look at the courses offered, I saw that none of them interested me, so I decided to cancel my free trial on August 9th. I went through all the cancellation steps on their website, including the last one which required me to call +X XXX XXX XXXX and provide them with my student number (which Shaw Academy said was XXXXX) to confirm my cancellation. However, when I called the above number and provided them with the only student number that Shaw Academy gave me, the automated voice said that this student number was invalid and I was unable to cancel my free trial. I am afraid that I will get charged 69.99$ per month on my credit card if this continues and I am unable to cancel my free trial on time.

Desired Outcome

Cancel my free trial before the end date (which is September 6th 2020), with no charges on my account.

I BOUGHT THE ULTIMATE TRADERS PROGRAMME FROM Shaw Academy ONLINE EDUCATION. THE PRODUCT IT OFFERS TO TRADE STOCKS ONLINE DOES NOT WORK.
I PAID $1500 FOR THEIR COURSE AND NOBODY IS HELPING ME INSTALL THE SOFTWARE THEY HAVE TO OFFER. I HAVE SPOKE TO SUPPORT AND THEY ASKED ME TO REACH OUT TO THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR. THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR DOES NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGES ANYWHERE. I AM FED UP OF THEIR SERVICES AND WOULD NO LONGER LIKE TO CONTINUE WITH THEM AND WHAT THEY HAVE TO OFFER. I WOULD RATHER APPROACH A BETTER STOCK TRADING PLATFORM IN NEW YORK CITY. PLEASE FILE THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY BAD.

Duplicate item purchased. I would like a refund back to my credit card.
I was given a photography toolkit free of charge with the diploma a few weeks ago. I tried going into my account to access the toolkit yesterday, but was unable to locate it on my account. An offer showed up for the same tool kit and I was under the impression that was the only way to access what I already had. I ended up purchasing a kit I already by mistake,, because my intention was not to pay for a duplicate kit so I reached out to be refunded within a few minutes of the purchase. I was told I couldn't be refunded because I purchased the item and I was offered some more free stuff, but I already have what they offered since it came with the free toolkit. I explained it was a mistake to purchase the kit and that I wasn't too familiar with how to access the one I already had so I was confused. Again, I was shut down and they refuse to issue a refund. That kit is $39.99 and I cannot afford for them to keep my money especially when this is a duplicate kit. This is beyond poor customer service and I feel this place is a scam. I just want my money to be refunded back to my card. I haven't used any of the kits. I never downloaded it or opened it.

I started the 4 week trial and it is a scam!!!
I started the 4 week trial and 10 days in I would like to cancel and the only they will let me cancel is to call their number and use my student number to cancel but when I called and try to cancel it says that number does not work so basically I can't cancel and I'm stuck !! This is not right I do not want to finish my free trial but they are making it literally impossible to end it its just a big SCAM!!

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE
I signed up for a trial period. The company started bombarding me with texts, calls, and emails about purchasing the toolkit. I responded to their text explaining that I did not have the funds at this time. They tried on more than one occasion to charge mr card but it was rejected. I finally saw a charge dated August 8, 2020 in the amount of $39.99. I did not authorized this charge.

They have now refunded the $39.99 unauthorized charge where before the refused to talk with me about it.

Unable to unsubscribe to their free trial. Email and phone harassment from them. Shady sales practices for their course toolkit.
I signed up to their 30 day free trial for a photography class. It seemed interesting and nice. Then I was unknowninkgy charged for a class toolkit. It was really unclear that I was going to be a charge. Then I started receiving dozens of emails from them and they even called. I decided a week after signing up and even before my 1st class to cancel subscription to the trial. They make it very very complicate with many suggestions other than unsubscribing. Then I realized you can't actually unsubscribe, you have to call them. I emailed them about it and about their practices when again they sent me an email about missing my 1st class. They opened a ticket, but instead of cancelling my free trial, they extended it for another 30 days. That's not what I want. I just want to unsubscribe and not pursue this trial. I'm really appalled by the way this company operates and I feel sorry for the employees that have to put up with this scam.

I wish to be refunded the toolkit and to be able to unsubscribe and not charged at the end of the trial. And to not receive emails or calls from them once this is resolved.

I appreciate that Shaw Academy recognized the issue with the toolkit which seems to be purchased without any intetions of doing so, not juts by me, but hundreds of others. So yes, I was refunded for the toolkit. But I don't trust that my account has been cancelled as hundreds of other people experienced money taken from them, after their account was supposedely cancelled. I can still not log in and it says that my status is not renewing, which isn't the same as cancelled. I demand that my account be permanently deleted, including all the information they have on me. And as previously asked to not received emails anymore. I'm still receiving emails with click&bait stuff and e-certifcate and all. Which is further proof that my account isn't closed on cancelled. And for the record, I opened the account for the free trial on August 4th, attempted to cancel on August 9 and 10th. Filled with the Revdex.com on August 10th. We are now August 14th, so there is no way that the argument that I didn't cancel on time can be used. Thank you.

The account is cancelled and my information seems to have been deleted.

I signed up for a free trial period, cancelled the membership and was subsequently charged $69.99 for the next two months.
This business is very deceiving in how they present themselves. I signed up for what was supposed to be a free trial. I canceled through their website on June 28, 2020 before the trial period had ended. Since then our credit card has subsequently been charged for the following two months at $69.99 each. I never actually used any of their courses or lessons during the trial period as it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. The phone number listed on my credit card charge for this company is not a working number and is the same number listed on the Revdex.com listing for this company which is not in service. Again, deceiving their customer base. I went through the process again to cancel and after numerous pages on their website that popped up each time trying to convince me otherwise and confuse me on whether it is actually cancelled, and switching the location of the buttons to click to continue in the cancellation process. After 6 pages of this I was able to locate a phone number that you were required to call and wait on hold to talk to a representative to pull up your account and cancel. I had to wait until I received an actual email with the confirmation while I was still on the phone. These practices are deceptive and are scamming their customers into signing up for free trials only to be charged and make it very difficult to complete the cancellation process completely.

I'm requesting a refund in the amount charged. The services were never used. I wish I had looked up this company like I do with so many others on the Revdex.com before I gave them my information.

ShawAcademy.com 'took my money without asking or notifying. I registered for a free trial last july 9,2020 which can last for a period of one month free trial without any payment so I have until august 7,2020 to cancel my subscription. But after checking yesterday my PayPal Account, linked to my savings card, I have been deducted 69.99 euros for 1-month plan which I never agree with!!! I called the number for cancellation of my account at +XXXXXXXXXXX and it asked me for my student ID number XXXXX and it said that it was invalid!
I called the number for cancellation for Philippines for my account at +XXXXXXXXXXX and it asked me for my student ID number which was shown on the cancellation page and my account (XXXXX) and it said that the id number was invalid! How can I cancel now??

Shaw Academy posted on FB that first 4 weeks were free. I canceled my order the 1st day of class and they took $39 and $69.
I have applied for Shaw Academy because they was giving for free classes. I started on July 27th and cancel on the 27th. The same day Shaw Academy took money off of my Credit one bank credit card. The transaction was not supposed to happen until August 23rd.

I want my full refund back on my card or a check mail to me.

I canceled my free trial with Shaw Academy. They still charged my card 3 days before the trial was set to renew.
I has canceled my free trial yet they still billed and taken money from my account in the amount of 69.99. This is 3 days prior to the renewal date that I would have had. This is fraud and I just want my money back for a system that I didn't use because I didn't have the time for. They have no number to get into contact with anyone in regards to getting my money back.

I accept this response on the grounds that I will be receiving my refund. I never signed up for auto renewal. This is a satisfactory resolution.

I cancelled subscription over the phone less than a week after sign up for a FREE trial bc they were so terrible. Charged me 4x in the past week.
I signed up for a FREE trial in Apr. They charged you .50 and then refunded it to you. I hadn't started the free trial yet and their emails, texts and incessant updates were way too much and it was like they were shaming you for not starting the course. I was so annoyed and put off by this messaging and emailing and shaming that when they called me to ask me why I didn't start the course yet, I told them it was because I didn't have time and I wanted to cancel. I told them to remove ALL my information, including my billing and contact information from their system. They tried to convince me that I should keep trying but I said no, and told them to remove me completely and cancel everything. They said they would do so. This was on Apr 27, 2020. I can't find a cancellation email from them. It was all over the phone.

On August 6th , 2020 . I signed for for the 4 week free trial , it was said that I would pay $0 if I cancel my subscription before September 3rd,2020,The same day I canceled immediately , but when I went into my paypal I saw that $69.99 was deducted from my account. I would like a full refund of my money .Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card and refused to refund the money although I did never purchased their services it was supposed to be a free trial. I have Proof of this and I want a FULL refund .

I reportedly cancelled my subscription through the site at 23th of June. This was 1 week before the end of the free trial. But still got a $69.99 bill
I reportedly on 23th of June cancelled my subscription online. I started my subscription at 3th of June so I still had 1 week of free trial left. Unfortunately Shaw Academy still took $69.99 from my paypal account. I find it odd because my premium subscription was already cancelled a week before the end of the free trial. I would like to see my money back on my paypal account.

My brother died and I emailed them and said I will NOT be continuing with this. CANCEL my trial and membership. They said they canceled it and at the end of the trial everything would be removed. I WAS CHARGED $260.87!!!! I'm a college student with a single mother who struggles and now we have to pay for a funeral, do you know how expensive that is?!?! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. EVERY PENNY COUNTS PLEASE I CANT LOSE THAT MUCH MONEY
