Sherman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Reviews (201)

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/08/12) */
We can appreciate the customer's frustration with the difficulties they had with repairs on their vehicle, however we tried to work closely with this customer to resolve the issue of the condensor. We did recharge the customer's system...

on June 9. The dye was put in to help assess the situation and we asked the customer to return so we could see how to best fix the problem. [redacted] the Service Director, advised the customer that this repair may not be covered with the warranty and he was going to try and work with Chrysler to cover a portion or all of the cost of the condenser.
We firmly believe the diagnosis was correct and we made every effort to resolve this for the customer.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2014/08/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They did recharge the system and added dye on June 9 as I stated in the complaint. As I stated, I returned on July 16th, the mechanic said he did not need to inspect my car to see what was leaking, he knew because he could smell it, that it was the evaporator and I was quoted a price of $1400 to replace the evaporator - not the condensor. Then the mechanic tried to tell me that I should just buy a new car instead of wasting $1400. They wanted me to replace a part that was not needed or buy a new car. I do not accept the response from Sherman.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2014/08/23) */
Please advise the customer we will reimburse the $159.69. A check will be issued and amiled to his home.

Dear [redacted]I’m sorry to hear you have more concerns about our ads: 1)  You mention that we are not stating the quantity of cars in stock for each vehicle offer.  I don’t believe that we are required to do so.  However, we specifically disclose an exact vehicle...

that the advertised offer is valid on, which includes:  a)  Year, Make and Modelb)  Stock Numberc)  MSRPThis information is displayed clear and conspicuously next to the offer.2)  In regards to your concern about the statement “#1 Volume Dealer in Illinois,” that information is based on 2014 Polk data.3)  In regards to your concern about the “Loyalty Pays” offer, that has been removed from our advertising. 4)  In regards to your concern about the 0% for 84 months offer in the Caravan Crazy ad.  You mention there is no qualifier.  However, that offer is disclaimed as follows:"0% APR for 84 mos. is a dealer buy down and is not sponsored by the manufacturer and may affect final selling price of the vehicle. 0% APR for 84 months available on select new models to qualified buyers, must finance thru [redacted] in lieu of factory rebate. Financed amount is $11.90/$1000 borrowed."We hope this helps answer your questions.Sincerely, [redacted]

Unfortunately, customer was unable to be financed by a bank and we needed to repossess the vehicle. The plates that were on the vehicle were taken off and destroyed. We do not reimburse for City mandated stickers.

Went to buy a car on black Friday and was there until 2am. When I went home to review the contract I discover they were charging me extra for a "SRD" so I went back the next day and wanted to speak to someone in finance not only they kept passing me to someone new they were just ignoring me aND treating me like I was bothering them. Worst customer service ever. I couldn't believe that I bought a car from this place.

Dear Mr. [redacted],In an effort to ease your concerns, we are making the following modifications to our ads: 1)  To eliminate any confusion on the Lease Loyalty, we have removed that item from future ads.2)  We have run ads with the statement 2300 new cars...

available because that is the quantity we did have available.  During the month of October, we sold 329 new vehicles and many more during the current month of November.  We have also restocked many new vehicles.   As of today, we have just over 2000 new vehicles available.  Therefore, we are modifying our ad to say over 2000 available.3)  The statement pertaining to the #1 Volume Dealer in Illinois is referencing all sales of  new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram sales plus all used sales in 2014.  It is disclaimed as:  "Based on Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM New/Used Car Registrations for 2014 Sales Year.” This statement does not state that Sherman Dodge is #1 in only Ram sales.  However, to eliminate any confusion, we will remove the word Ram from the disclaimer from all future ads.We hope this helps ease your concerns.Sincerely, Alex [redacted]

I certainly understand your concern.  The Illinois Motor Vehicle Advertising Rules & Regulations does not require us to state the total number of vehicles available for each offer.  However, we try to make as clear as possible in our ads that the...

offers that are presented  are real offers on real vehicles.  We do that by providing an example of a specific vehicle in which that offer pertains to.  The information we provide includes:*Model Year
*Vehicle Make
*Model
*Stock Number
*MSRP of that specific vehicle
This information is a clear reference and road map for any customer to come into our dealership and take advantage of the advertised offer.

I hope this helpful.

Sincerely,

Complaint: 10937582
I am rejecting this response because: I have no desire to speak with you I would just like your ads to have accurate information.
Sincerely,
Ben [redacted]

The car came in for a no start problem and a recall. The recall had nothing to do with the no start problem. But after further diagnosis, we found that the PCM needed to be replaced. Once we replaced the PCM the new PCM would not communicate with the TIPM. We called the customers ext. warranty...

company and they said that if his warranty had not expired the TIPM would have been covered under his warranty. The customer did not want to pay any more money and just wanted to pick his car up. He was aware that before he picked his car up that it had multiple problems. The rest has already been discussed in his part of the letter where he paid the deductible as outlined with his extended warranty company. This is their deductible not Sherman Dodge's deductible. Then he told us that he stopped payment on the check and we told him that after doing so any further repairs and picking up his vehicle he will have to pay cash. At the time of this letter being written the customer has paid the deductible in cash and has picked his vehicle up. Thank you and I am sorry for an inconvenience or problems that this has caused the customer.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Although they told me two different times they would mail them to because of how far away I lived.

Customer came in on November 12th approximately 2:30 p.m. and took possession of the 2015 Dodge Dart

I would like to warn consumers about the disrespectful and cruel treatment I received at this dealership. On November 30, 2015 I went to this dealer and was approved for a car loan on a used vehicle or so I thought I was approved. A couple of weeks later I was told that there was a problem with the approval because of a discrepancy with my employment information. I tried to get this rectified with them and the lender over the phone. I thought I had answered all their questions and we cleared up everything. The sales person Kevin [redacted] and someone in finance name Janelle called to tell me everything was fine with the finance company on 12/18/2015. All I needed to do was come back to the dealership before 8:00 to sign new papers. I get to the dealership and ask for Kevin or Janelle. I'm told neither are available. I wait for almost an hour for some other sales person to see me and he says they're just working on the new paperwork for me to sign and it'll just be a few minutes. Well an hour later they tell me they feel I lied on my application and they have to take back the vehicle and that they lied about my approval just to get me to come to the dealership so they can take the car back. I said to them I have no way to get back home which is about 50 miles away and was told by the manager that's not their problem on how I'll get back home. I said all you had to do was tell me I needed to return the car so that I could have arranged for someone to follow me there so I can have a ride back home. Again they told me not their problem by the used sales manager Joe and also another manger cursed at my son by calling him a "[redacted]" and trying to get him to fight him. Also on another note the salesmen as well as the manager told me to lie to the finance company when I call. They said that I should tell them I only pay $150 for rent which is much less than I actually pay. They also told me to lie about the down payment. My number one complaint is just how I was treated by luring me there to take back the car and leaving me stranded late at night on a cold snowy night 50 miles away from home. And also curing at my son and trying to fight him. This place does not care or value their customers.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/23) */
We offer our sincerest apologies for the lengthy time it took to resolve this issue for our customer. We spoke with the customer today and advised him that we sent the $2650 check to the bank to pay-off the warranty and have sent him a check...

for the interest he paid during this period. The customer was satisfied with our response.

After reviewing customer's file we are unable to complete the request for the sunroof installation. Customer owes the difference of her trade in. If she satisfies the money due on her account, then we will be able to proceed with the sunroof install. Mailed referral bonus check to customer on December 29th 2016. Customer would need to schedule an appointment to come in for key that is owed to her and for the owner's manual.

The disclaimer listed in every Sherman Dodge advertisement clearly states the information regarding incentives.

Customer contacted us about a vehicle they have seen on our commercial... There are government mandated guidelines that must be followed in order to purchase a vehicle. The customer was guided to come to the dealership and bring appropriate identification for us to start the process of purchasing a...

vehicle. No where in our commercial does it state that there is no credit check needed, does not state that a cosigner is not needed, does not state that a down payment is not needed. There is a disclaimer to the commercial that must have been over looked by the customer.

[redacted]I apologize if you felt my staff didn’t provide the exceptional customer service we strive for.  Your deal was in fact voided.  With regard to the inquiries on your credit, our goal was to find a bank with a better rate than [redacted] Bank offered you.  This was...

not a tactic executed to intentionally hurt your credit standing.  Once again, with regard to the entire transaction, our goal is to always provide outstanding customer service and to have our customers feeling satisfied with their purchase.  It’s clear you did not leave feeling this way.  Please accept our sincere apologies.
