Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. I understand Michelin's point of view that since I no longer have the tires, I cannot file a claim under their rules, but I am still quite dismayed. Two Michelin tire dealers (*** Hyundai of *** MA, and *** of *** MA) provided misdirection to me, either because they did not know the rules, or, perhaps more likely, did not want to spend any time filing warranty paperwork. *** told me to contact Michelin directly. *** told me to contact the original car dealer. As a customer, I would expect to get truthful, correct information when purchasing tires. I do not deal with tire manufacturers or car repair on a daily basis, and thus I am the person least likely to know Michelin's full rules in this scenario. It seems to me that, as written, the rules are set up to make it close to impossible for a customer to execute the warranty. Even if I had known that I needed to force the issue prior to the sale (which I didn't), if *** had told me that they would not honor the warranty, then I would have been stuck, as my car was not legal to drive. It would not have been worth paying to TOW my car to a compliant Michelin dealer in order to have a chance that they would actually honor the agreement. In any event, I would appreciate at least a good faith gesture from Michelin that indicates that they truly honor their warranties

stated in the letter about competitors tires, we purchased MORE Michelin tiresAlso, Michelin want us to take tires BACK to discount tire store, sure we will do thatIn agreeing to do this, we must state that Michelin tire company had treated us as if WE wanted something from them that we were not due! That truly is not the case at allThe tires were defect just like the recall that I print out in the complaint and they will not own up to itWe are people who always pay for what we want, but also want what we pay for.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and as long as I receive a check for 70% of the replacement costs as discussed with Greg with Michelin, I will consider this case closed. Greg said it will take 3-weeks for check to process. I had tires installed today and cost was $906.60. Immediately upon arriving home I emailed a scanned copy of receipt from service center as required. I have also attached a copy to this response. I reserve the right to resubmit complaint or continue this complaint should I not receive check as discussed with Grep at Michelin

***, After reviewing Mr***'s case (Case Number ***) in our system, we found that this was a Damage Claim handled directly my our Consequential Damages Department. This is a department within our Legal Group. The following letter was sent to Mr*** from our Legal
Department, Consequential Damages Manager. This was their final inspection and conclusion on the claim and we cannot make any additional decisions outside of this

*** * *** Rd***, AZ 85254 Dear Mr***,
We have recently
completed our inspection of your ***
BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A tire and would
like to advise you of those findings at this time.
Examination of the tire, DOT #***, has revealed a
radial break through the casing in the crown area from DOT mid sidewall to NON
DOT shoulder at (using the DOT# as a reference point at 12:00)The tread
and all steel belts are detached and missing in this area exposing the radial
casing pliesThis indicates the tire, at some point in time, struck an unknown
object or obstruction with sufficient force, splitting the inner liner, allowing
air to infiltrate into the casingAs the tire remained in service, the air
infiltration progressed, ultimately causing a tread
detachment.Since the subject tire was damaged due to
an impact break and shows no indication of a material or workmanship condition,
we feel that Michelin is in no way responsible for any damages that may have
been incurred and must respectfully deny your claim Since our
storage space is limited, we will dispose of the tire unless we hear from you to
the contrary within days from the date of this letter
Sincerely,
Ritch

It is winter in ** PA I did the runaround with Michelin for over a week while driving on bald tires They told the person at *** over the phone that all they would offer me was $off of $tires Their tires did not hold up anywhere close to the year -60,mile warranty, so there was no way I was going to replace the ruined tires with their *** ** *** tires again for $a tire, and I couldn't wait around for weeks or months in winter for them to get themselves together before I replaced my tires I have listened to *** messages, and I haven't called back because I refuse to get upset about this again He has given me every excuse in the book as to why his *** tires didn't hold up He told me *** *** aren't meant for winter driving I drove my car for THREE MUCH WORSE WINTERS with *** *** *** tires before they wore outHe and *** blamed the alignment, and yet I had the alignment checked when I had the new tires that replaced the Michelins put on, and I was told everything was within specs I am sick and tired of dealing with Michelin and their excuses They claim their tires are SIX YEAR - 60,mile tires I didn't even have them on my car SIX MONTHS or for SIX THOUSAND miles They need to honor their warranty, and since they instead chose to give me a runaround, I did go with a competitor's tires After trying to work with them for over a week during hazardous road conditions on THEIR BALD TIRES, I feel I had the right to do this and should be compensated with cash.

appreciate the opportunity to respond. We reviewed the circumstances with *** *** tires. Our records indicate that we were initially contacted, by *** ***, via phone on 6/13/2016. During the conversation, he stated that he has experienced (2) two flat tires and is concerned about a recall. At that time, we asked that *** *** take the vehicle to an authorized Michelin dealer for an inspection of the tires On 6/14/16, we once again received contact via phone by *** ***. Again, he expressed concern about his tires being under recall. *** *** provided us with the DOT code on one of his tires. This tire was not under our safety recall. During this call, *** *** mentioned that he has damaged to his rims, allegedly caused by the tires losing air and coming out of service. *** *** advised the representative that he does not have all of the removed tires available *** *** was advised in order to file a claim for damages to his rims; the tires must be available for inspection by our Liability group. He was also advised that the warranty is non-transferrable and since this was a pre-owned vehicle, that came equipped with the tires, there is no warranty on the tires On 6/29/16, I placed another call to *** *** to further discuss his concerns. Again, I explained that in order to file for damages he must have the tires available for inspection. *** *** advised us that he still has one tire in his possession. I advised him to have that tire inspected by an authorized Michelin dealer and to have the dealer contact us with that inspection. Once we have the inspection we can determine what assistance can be provided under our Goodwill Concession Program Sincerely, *** *** *** *** Michelin North America
