On the second try, after waiting for eighteen minutes I was able to speak with an individual. After much talk, he finally agreed to meet the original request. Thus, providing they follow through as promised I do accept the offer.Thank you for your help,[redacted]

---------- Forwarded message ----------From: [redacted]Date: Mon, Dec 21, 2015 at 1:29 PMSubject: complaint [redacted]To: [redacted]I've had contact with the company, I've just been waiting on receiving my refund before verifying that the complaint has been successfully resolved.

We left Mr. [redacted] a voicemail as well with the information below:Revdex.com of Upstate South Carolina Attn: [redacted] 408 North Church Street, Suite C Greenville, SC  29601-2149 RE:  [redacted] Revdex.com ID#: [redacted] Michelin File #: [redacted] Dear [redacted] We received your email regarding [redacted] and appreciate the opportunity to respond. We reviewed the circumstances with Mr. [redacted]’s Michelin tires. Our records indicate that we attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] on 2/23/2017 and left a voicemail to return our call. After reviewing the case it was determined that we can provide a one time final goodwill concession of 2 tires at 45% charge based on the mileage that was received.  The Michelin [redacted] comes with a 36,000 mile limited warranty and he received 20,000 miles out of them. Per our warranty guidelines “If a tire is covered…Michelin will replace the tire with a comparable new MICHELIN replacement on a pro rata basis.” The materials warranty which is for the sidewall cracking is also handled on a pro-rata basis. We have looked at how much tread there was left on the tires, the age of the tires, and how many miles Mr. [redacted] received out of the tires and will provide a 45 % charge / 55% credit as a goodwill concession.  The offer that has been made to him meets and exceeds what is due under the warranty guidelines. Any adjustments can and will be honored at the time of replacement and if tires have been purchased at full price, we will be able to issue a check for the difference. If there are additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, Audrey C[redacted] Executive Response Team Michelin North America

appreciate the opportunity to respond. We attempted to reach Mr. [redacted] by telephone and left a voice message to return our call. Mr. [redacted] tire warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials, but not mileage.  As stated in his letter, the alleged tires had 5 1 5 tread depths which is excessive wear in the center (irregular wear).  Even if the tires had a mileage warranty, the tires were not evenly worn to 2/32. Although nothing was due under the terms of the [redacted] Passenger and Light Truck Tire Limited Warranty, we extended 65% goodwill discount, which is beyond warranty concession. It is unfortunate that our jester of goodwill was not acceptable to Mr. [redacted]  We will not be refunding Mr. [redacted] 100% nor will we consider replacing the other two tires at no charge.   If [redacted] truck is a 4WD or AWD truck, again, as a goodwill  we will consider prorating the remaining two tires based on the percentage of wear.   If there are additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Sincerely, [redacted] Michelin North America[redacted] re...

Dear [redacted],...

We received your second email regarding Mr. [redacted] and
appreciate the opportunity to respond.

We were contacted by Mr. [redacted] on 08/28/2017 and informed that one of
his tires came out of service and caused damage to his vehicle. Mr. [redacted]
advised that his insurance company would be repairing the vehicle. Mr. [redacted]
was concerned about the remaining tires on the vehicle. We informed Mr. [redacted]
that we would be happy to review the 3 remaining tires for possible assistance.
At some point there was some miscommunication as to our willingness to prorate
the remaining tires on the vehicle. We reached out to Mr. [redacted] 08/31/2017
and assured him that we are willing to extend any credit due to him on the
remaining tires once we have the inspection. Since the insurance company is
repairing the vehicle, they also reserve the right to the claim and can subrogate
Michelin for the cost to repair Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle which would include his deductible.

Sincerely,

Jon

Regards,
[redacted] Hi.   I have not received a check yet for the $175. for the bad tube. They supposedly gave a credit to some dealer, but not me.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is CONDITIONALLY satisfactory to me.  I have not received the check as it is expected to take 5 weeks which is an exceptionally long time to process a small refund. In good faith I am marking this complaint as resolved. If the check does not reach me by January 20th 2017 or there are problems cashing the check, this case will need to be reopened. I had also requested in my original complaint that Michelin follow up with their dealer [redacted] tire. They did not follow Michelin's warranty program even though they installed the tires on my vehicle and still claim to be a Michelin dealer. This is still an unresolved matter.

inspection results from [redacted] at [redacted]. [redacted] at [redacted].  provided us with inspection information on the consumer's tires. The inspection showed two tires were worn down to 3/32 and two tires were worn to 7/32. Tires are not considered worn out by law until they are at 2/32. We discussed with [redacted] about the warranty ( Your tires are covered for defects in workmanship and material for 6 years or the usable life of the tread, whichever would come first). The Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires are covered for mileage under an additional treadwear warranty for 65,000 miles, provided the tires are rotated every 6-8,000 miles, per the warranty. This information is also available on our web-page at http://www.michelinman.com/US/en/tires/warranty.html. [redacted] advised us that his mechanic rotated his tires for him. We asked the consumer for his rotation receipts, and offered to contact his mehanic for rotaion information, he declined. So, we offered to assist [redacted] with a 50% goodwill adjustment, since only two tires were near the 2/32 mark. [redacted] advised us that he want Michelin to replace his tires at a no-charge. We declined the no-charge offer. We changed the offer to a 75% goodwill credit and advised the consumer that his tires are showing a  big difference between two tires with 2/32 and two tires at 7/32, which normally indicates that his rotation was not keep current. [redacted] advised us that if we can not replace all tires at a no-charge, he would not purchase Michelin again. After discussing the two offers, and the consumer declined both, the call was ended.Sincerely,[redacted]Michelin Executive Response Team.

Dear Revdex.com:In reference to complaint ID [redacted]...

Michelin's offer was ambiguous.  They wrote:  " If you will provide us with a copy of the invoice for the original purchase along with a copy of the invoices for the replacement tires we will be glad to contact the tire dealer and review a resolution with you."
They did say they will reimburse me for the towing bill.
They also requested that I send all of the receipts for 1) the towing; and 2) the EIGHT tires I purchased (4 originals and 4 replacements for the flats occurring on 3 different occasions).  I promptly sent all of these documents.I would like Michelin to reimburse me for all 8 tires, and I will return the 4 replacement Michelin tires to them.  I only purchased the second set of Michelins because it was required to keep the cars tires "balanced" (again, the tires went flat on 3 different occasions, not all at once); the 3 tire dealers all strongly recommended having all 4 tires be the same make.
At the very least, I want Michelin to reimburse me for 4 of the 8 tires purchased, all in less than a year, and several within just a few months of purchase.  Again, my prior set of much less expensive [redacted] that that were driven on by me, on the same car, in the same manner, until they were tread bare (mentioned on receipt).  Not one ever had a flat.
Thank you,
[redacted]

complaints. Based on the tire inspection information provided by [redacted], the tires on the consumer’s van had irregular wear which is not covered by the Michelin limited warranty.  However, we provided a 25% credit toward the purchase of replacement tires as a goodwill gesture. We feel we have tried in good faith to assist the consumer above and beyond the warranty.  We are sorry but free tire replacement is not an option in this circumstance. We received your letter regarding Ms. [redacted]’s

In reference to Ms. [redacted]’s request, we tried to reach out

rebate card was shipped the 21st of August and was activated on the
25th.

Dear
[redacted]
We received
your...

email regarding Mr. [redacted]s complaint.
In reference
to Mr. [redacted]s request, we investigated why he did not receive his $70 mail-in
rebate. Mr. [redacted] purchased his Michelin tires at [redacted] Tire when they were
running an in-house Michelin $70 mail-in rebate. Unfortunately Mr. [redacted] was
not informed that he had to submit his redemption form  to [redacted] Tire’s Promotional Center instead
of our Michelin Promotional Center.  We
called [redacted] Tire’s Promotional Center and they advised that they would take
care of the issue. We then spoke to Mr.
[redacted] on 06/27/2017 to let him know that he would be contacted by [redacted]
Tire’s Promotional Center. We called him back on 07/5/2017 to follow up on his
case.  Mr. [redacted] stated that he had
been contacted by [redacted] Tire’s Promotional Center and that he should be
receiving his mail-in $70 rebate card in three to four weeks. We asked him to
contact us in case he has not received the card by then to
assist.
If you may
have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting us.

Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
In the telephone conversation on 6/27/16 in response to my Revdex.com complaint, the Michelin agent indicated that customer service personnel did not handle this complaint properly and created an undue inconvenience. She also indicated that the agents would be retrained. Their actions may have been appropriate for a $200 automobile tire, but was inappropriate for a $8.79 bicycle inner tube. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
