I spoke with the agent and, unfortunately, this one fell through the cracks on our end.  The agent had called the consumer to see if they accepted our offer of towing reimbursement.  When they were unable to reach the consumer, they should have posted a follow up action to be alerted that the case was not closed and they needed to call again.  This didn’t happen.   The agent requested the check $252.00 for the consumer on 3/26/18.  Our check process typically takes 3-4 weeks for processing and delivery.  However, we have asked our admin to send the check overnight to the consumer once we receive it from Accounts Payable.  This will most likely be 2 weeks.  Please let me know if there are any questions. Thanks,

tire concerns for rapid tire wear. We discussed our warranty (All MICHELIN® tires have a Standard Manufacturer's Limited Warranty, which covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for 6 years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first.), and how tires are prorated under the limited mileage warranty. [redacted] advised us that he understood the warranty and had new Michelin replacement tires adjusted at 81% credit off, as oppose to our original offer of 71% off. [redacted] agreed to the new percentage. However, he expressed his concerns and felt that his tires should have been replaced at a no-charge. We advised [redacted] about our process of pro rata and apologized to him for any inconveniences. The call was ended with no other questions or concerns.Sincerely, [redacted]Tell us why here...

We have confirmed with the consumer and dealer that our goodwill offer has been increased to a 45% discount with the purchase of 4 new Michelin or [redacted] tires.  The consumer states he is happy with this offer.

 Dear Cindy,

We
received your letter regarding Mr. [redacted]'s complaint.

We reviewed Mr. [redacted]'s
case. One tire suffered a road hazard. Road Hazards are not covered by the
limited warranty but we offered a 60% discount as goodwill due to the low
mileage and being worn down only 2/32nds of the original tread.

Unfortunately the tire model was
discontinued, so we offered to replace all four tires on a pro rata basis as
goodwill. We offered Mr. [redacted]'s a 60% reimbursement of the cost of the tires.

Mr. [redacted] was under the impression
that we would reimburse 100% of the cost of the tires. We explained that the
replacement is done on a pro rata basis. In other words, Mr. [redacted] was
responsible for paying the wear and tear of the tires, besides the
mounting and balancing of the tires and the cost of any other service
charges and applicable taxes.

In order to assist Mr. [redacted] a
little more, we adjusted 1 tire at a 60% reimbursement, and the
remaining three tires at a 90% reimbursement. Mr. [redacted] paid
$1,264.00 for his new replacement tires. We reimbursed in total $1,056.40

We had initially sent Mr. [redacted] a
check for $754.00 that represented a 60% reimbursement of all four tires.
We have now requested a second check for $302.40 to complement $1,056.40
(1 tire at 60% reimbursement and 3 tires at a 90% reimbursement).

Mr. [redacted] was notified of the above
and he replied thanking us for revising the reimbursement and inquiring if we
could overnight the check.

If you may have any questions,
please do not hesitate in contacting us.

Sincerely,
Suzanne E

Dear Cindy,
We received
your email regarding Mr [redacted]’s complaints.
The Michelin...

passenger
and light truck tire warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for 6
years from date of purchase or the life of the tread, whichever occurs
first.  Should a tire come out of service
for any reason, an inspection is required by an authorized Michelin dealer for
warranty service.  If a failed tire
causes consequential damage to the vehicle then the tire must be sent to our
consequential damage (CQ) claims department for inspection.  Unfortunately, without the tire available for
inspection by our CQ department, a vehicle damage claim cannot be filed.
The warranty
does not provide compensation for loss of time, loss of use of vehicle or
inconvenience.  As part of the MICHELIN
Promise Plan, Flat Tire Changing Assistance and towing are provided up to 3
years from date of purchase.  Mr
[redacted] did not contact our service provider for assistance and was charged
for the tow.  As a goodwill gesture, I
will reimburse the tow fee ($252.00) directly to Mr [redacted] if this is
acceptable to him.
Sincerely,
Dale

Dear [redacted],

We received your...

email regarding Mr. [redacted] and
appreciate the opportunity to respond.

We have reviewed the circumstances with Mr. [redacted] Michelin
tires.  Our records indicate that we were
initially contacted by Mr. [redacted] on 07/19/2017 concerning alleged wet traction
concerns with his Primacy [redacted] tires fitted on his 2015 Toyota Avalon. Mr. [redacted]
was advised of the 6 year warranty coverage and that wet traction was not a
warrantable condition. However, we did advise him that we would review for any
possible assistance if an authorized Michelin retailer provided inspection
results of the suspect tires to us. We provided information on 7 authorized
dealers he could visit during that contact.

On 08/22/2017 we received the required inspection results from Holly at
[redacted] Toyota. We noticed at this point with projected mileage Mr. [redacted]’s
would most likely fall short. Being as wet traction is not covered under our
warranty guidelines we offered a 33% credit on Michelin replacement tires based
on the projected mileage in an attempt to resolve Mr. [redacted]’s
concerns. Holly, the representative at [redacted] Toyota is currently awaiting
approval from Mr. [redacted] to replace his tires on this basis. Mr. [redacted]
will have 14 days to accept the offer.

Sincerely,

Jon

attempted to reach [redacted] by telephone and he was not available.  We left a voice message on his recorder  that we can be reached at [redacted] Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm Eastern Time. The Michelin Passenger and Light Truck Tire Limited Warranty is a free replacement if the tires comes out of service for a defect in workmanship and materials during the first 12 months of 25% or less wear, whichever comes firsts. As he stated, the tires have been in service since 2011 and as have been in service for 41,357 miles.  Under the terms of the warranty, the tires on his vehicle will not be a free replacement.According to the inspection provided by the dealers the tires have an average of 4/32 and the dealer also stated that the vehicle is in need of an alignment. Based upon the mileage warranty if the tires were evenly worn to 2/32, the adjustment would be 38% discount. If the tires are replaced under the terms of the defect in materials and workmanship  tires would be replaced at a 30% discount.  As a one time goodwill concession, we will authorize a participating dealer to  prorate all 4 tires at a  50% discount.  [redacted] will be responsible for all dealer services and any additional charges.  The goodwill concession is good toward Michelin, BFGoodrich or Uniroyal Brand tires being installed and the offer will be valid until January 31, 2016.
