April 6, Revdex.com La Posada Austin, TX RE: Case# [redacted] [redacted] Thank you for your recent inquiry on behalf of Mr*** We appreciate the Revdex.com’s efforts to resolve consumer complaints and to promote communications between businesses and consumers A member of Acer’s Corporate Customer Care has spoken with Mr [redacted] regarding this issue We have explained to Mr [redacted] that the software that comes with his computer is an OEM version which does not require a product key We let him know that if he purchases a retail copy of Windows that copy will have its own product key We have also advised Mr [redacted] if he would like to purchase recovery media for his computer we do sell it for $+ tax Mr [redacted] asked for us to send him a free copy of the media because he never received it when he purchased the computer We have advised Mr [redacted] that the computer did have a recovery partition with a copy of the media however when he installed the 3rd party software it overwrote the partition so it is no longer available We also advised Mr [redacted] we did send him a free copy of the recovery disks in January however he has misplaced them and feels that we should send him another copy free of charge We have advised Mr [redacted] it is unfortunate he has misplaced the media we previously sent him but if he would like another copy to replace it he would be required to purchase He has declined our offer I hope this letter has satisfactorily addressed the Revdex.com’s concerns Thank you again for your inquiry and for providing the opportunity to respond If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me Best Regards, Corporate Customer Care

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I stand by explanations in previous e-mailsAcer Computer sent me a Acer Chromebook computer that I cannot use today because it is an old technologyWhen I paid for an Acer computer in year February I was expecting a reliable computerBut the Acer Computer that was sent to me in year was defective and I returned it to Acer Computer twiceNow in year Acer is sending me an Acer Chromebook that still do not workI have to spend extra money to UPGRADE this computer for it to work as today's technologyWhy should I continue to UPGRADE an OLD year Acer Computer when I can buy year computer at about the same price? Will [redacted] Store sell a year Acer Computer to me as a NEW Acer Computer? May 31, Revdex.com La Posada Austin, TX RE: Case# [redacted] [redacted] A representative from Acer has reached out to [redacted] Support in regards to Mr***’s dispute Mr [redacted] entered a contract for paid software support services in May with [redacted] Support His contact was for issues and he has used all of his issues over the past year for different types of software questions he has had [redacted] Support will attempt to provide their best efforts to resolve issues but not all issues can be resolved [redacted] Support has fulfilled Mr***’s contract and they will not provide any refundThe issues Mr [redacted] is currently having are related to corruption of his software and we have previously addressed this issue with our last response as we are providing Mr [redacted] a free copy of his Windows operating system since he has upgraded his software and can no longer make a factory recovery disk Neither Acer nor Answers Buy Support can resolve all operating system issues as we are not the manufacture of the software We again will follow up with Mr [redacted] once he receives the software to ensure he is able to get it reinstalled on his computer and put the computer back to the original factory settings I hope this letter has satisfactorily addressed the Revdex.com’s concerns Thank you again for your inquiry and for providing the opportunity to respond If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me Best Regards, Corporate Customer Care

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: There was no fraudI was legitimately attempting to purchase the laptop from them and took extensive steps with their phone representatives to prove that there was no fraud and left contact information and explicit instructions to contact me in the case of the order not being processed to resolve any issues that might arise so that the order could process accordinglyNo attempt on the part of Acer was made to follow up on any of this.Furthermore, I also received an email from Acer after filing this original complaint suggesting that my three attempts to place the order, including the two orders placed through Acer's own representatives on Acer's number was all the fault of user error on my part, that nothing that has transpired has been the fault of AcerThe email also included a suggestion that I simply go buy a computer elsewhere.As to the release of funds, Acer's email has stated that it is up to my bank to release the hold on the account once Acer cancels my order, which I do understandHowever, according to my bank, the dates that Acer has canceled the holds with them in the past has been several days after the date that Acer canceled the orderAs of this message, it has been about hours since my order was canceled, and according to my bank, they have not received notice to remove the hold and cannot release the funds Regards, [redacted] ***
