I bought my phone from Sprint. I qualified to unlock my phone, as I had owned the phone for the proper amount of time, my bills had always been paid on time, and the transaction for buying the phone had cleared. The person at the Sprint store told me my phone was unlocked. I told them to leave my plan active and I would cancel it after I had my new plan set up. I reset my phone and activated my new carrier plan. When I put my new carries' SIM card in, the device was not unlocked. I spent 5+ hours over two days working with Sprint customer support on the phone. They have not helped at all.

The sprint corporation makes it nearly impossible to close your account. I "closed" my account on March 4. My mom's Cell phone was on the account and the person at the store (we live in different states) told her that she could keep her old number and she was starting her with a new account. We soon found out that action apparently re-opened my account somehow. They signed her up for a 2GB data plan, That combined with the unlimited data plan that apparently did not close was costing me big time. I got a bill for $207.38 that I paid on April 3rd. I then got a notice via email that my bill for 124.28 was due on May 4th. I chatted with them online and had my email removed from the account because it was not my account. I then get a call from my elderly mother that she was afraid that I was going to get billed for her cell phone bill. I followed up and as it turned out they never closed my account, my SSN is still associated with the account, my credit card is still getting billed directly. I call them and their information does not jibe with what I am getting billed. They took 124.28 out of my account this morning. I logged on and apparently I also have late fees even though auto pay has been turned on. The guy on the phone wants me to pay the full amount including the 124.28 that they just pulled out of my account. Obviously they have out sourced everything to the point where nobody knows what the hell is going on any more. They are the worst run company I have ever dealt with. They have no right to treat people like this. The Sprint corporation can't go out of business soon enough.
I have spent many hours attempting to close this account. It seems they are toying with me. I would like the Revdex.com's help striking my SSN and PII information from their records. The thought that these people have my personally identifiable financial information makes me shudder.

Switched to Sprint a couple years ago b/c of cheaper plan and after the contract term was up am now trying to switch to Verizon because I hate Sprint. Cell service is awful, there are text msgs I don't receive, customer service is horrible and trying to get out from under them is a complete nightmare. I don't owe anything on my phone, no bills, no nothing. Went into verizon to switch and sprint wouldn't unlock my phone to release it to them. First I was told by sprint b/c I had to pay the next month's bill. Next time I was told they have to submit a ticket for your unlock request and it'll take 24-48 hrs and will receive a confirmation email once it's unlocked. Never got the email. Then I was told, oh it's 24-48 BUSINESS day hrs to process. Then I call again and was told it's still in process and can take up to 24-72 business day hrs. Keep getting the run around. Each time I'm told something different. Sprint's website doesn't state any of this being the process for unlocking phones. In fact it says right on their website that postpaid customers with no balance will automatically unlock devices - but yet they won't unlock mine. It's now been a week since I've started this process and all I'm trying to do is switch. WORST CARRIER OUT THERE. I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE EVER USES SPRINT or YOU WILL GO THRU HELL IF YOU WANT OUT. Sprint needs reported as this is not appropriate business practice. I give them an F.
They are complete liars they will do anything to make a cell and then not follow through with promised promotion
unbelievably horrible service as a whole. I was signed up with a deal in May of 2017. Every month since then I have had to call them to correct my bill. I worked with the store that signed me up for maybe 5 months. That got no were so I have had to call in to them every month since. They tell me one thing and then do another. I still am not getting the deal I signed up for and agree'd to. I am on a budget and I can not do it. I would never have signed up for that.
And every time I call in they have to ask me the same questions and I feel like I am going to have a break down.
A few calls back I was cussing because of my frustration and they told me that I need to be more professional? Are you kidding me? Im not professional because of my language, but they apparently are more professional with their messing up by account every month?
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could go on and on but I am tired of writing about this since I have been for months
