Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 6, 2015/09/28) */ Our service agreements do allow for periodic price increases and these increases are a standard condition of our service agreement to help cover any cost increases we may face to meet regulatory requirements across local, state, and federal standards as well as prepare for investments in our business to keep abreast of needed technology and ensure the protection of our customers as part of our 'cradle to grave' service offering However, we are more than willing to work with our customers to find a service program with a rate that works for themWe offer a variety of different program levels and pifrequencies and can help to evaluate these optionsWe will have one of our Managers reach out to Ms [redacted] directly in order to review potential solutions to this matter Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 8, 2015/10/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We are not interested in another plan or alternative optionWe have honored our agreementsWe want the services terminated with no fees and we would like it effective the date we submitted to Stericycle effective immediatelyThe rate adjustments and terms of their contracts are too one-sided for us to continue with this firm Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 10, 2015/10/09) */ Please note, the terms and conditions of our service agreement do allow for price increases to address cost escalationOur price increases are a standard condition of our service agreement to help cover any cost increases we may face to meet regulatory requirements across local, state, and federal standards as well as prepare for investments in our business to keep abreast of needed technology and ensure the protection of our customers as part of our 'cradle to grave' service offeringWhile we try to absorb most of these costs, at times we must pass them on to our customersStericycle uses its business judgment to allocate increases in costs that are incurred on a system-wide basis to individual accounts One example of a significant investment made by Stericycle is a massive incinerator improvement projectWe are required to upgrade all incinerators nationwide in order to meet EPA requirementsThis is a multi-million dollar investment that Stericycle has made in order to remain complaint with federal guidelines Nonetheless, we value [redacted] as a long time Stericycle customer and in the interest of maintaining positive relations we have agreed terminate their account without assessing liquidated damagesWe will be sending one of our service personnel to perform a final piand to retrieve any remaining Stericycle boxes or tubs on Monday October 19th Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 12, 2015/10/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Stericycle did leave me a message on 7/14/only after I e-mailed a supervisor at their facility explainig that I had been unable to get in contact with [redacted] (our rep from Stericycle)I attempted to call the number that had been left on the voice mail by stericycle rep but got a busy signalI attempted to call that number again later on that day but again got a busy signalFinally at 5:45pm on Friday, 7/15/2016, [redacted] called me backMost of us are gone by that time on Fridays however luckly I was still thereI spoke with him regarding our concerns asking why they have not offered us a loyalty discout before when we have been loyal customers for years, why are we being charged monthly for a service that is only provided quarterly, and why is he saying they are contacting me when no one hadI did not get any useful answersAfter several minutes of feeling bullied by him and getting nowhere I told him I would have to speak with my office manager and get back to himHe said to e-mail him my response and that was thatI do not feel that this is any way to be dealing with a client of yoursI dont care if we are under contract with you until and there is nothing we can do about itWe may be stuck with them until but as soon as that contract is up we will leave if this is the way they are going to be dealing with their "loyal customers"We also know many other [redacted] offices and dentists out there who are looking for biohazard pick up and we will not be recommending stericycle for sureThere have been so many complaints from others on your Revdex.com website regarding them and its no wonder whyI just wish we would have done more research before signing a contract with stericycle Sincerely, ***
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/08/26) */ Our service agreements do allow for periodic price increases and these increases are a standard condition of our service agreement to help cover any cost increases we may face to meet regulatory requirements across local, state, and federal standards as well as prepare for investments in our business to keep abreast of needed technology and ensure the protection of our customers as part of our 'cradle to grave' service offering However, we are more than willing to work with our customers to find a service program with a rate that works for themWe offer a variety of different program levels and pifrequencies and can help to evaluate these optionsWe will have one of our Managers reach out to Mr[redacted] directly in order to review potential solutions to this matter Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/08/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The business has already offered me a reduced rate but I am not satisfied with itI was originally told I could be out of this contract by now, yet they insist on holding me for another months and won't let me go unless I pay $They deceived me into signing the current contract and are charging an unreasonable fee for terminationI would like help from the Revdex.com to resolve this if Stericycle is unwilling to terminate the contract without paying any liquidated damages Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 15, 2015/09/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Stericycle is unwilling to release me from the contract unless I pay a termination fee of $This fee is equivalent to half the monthly rate multiplied by the remaining term of the contract (months) I am not willing to pay this for three reasonsFirst, in Stericycle deceived me into renewing my contractThe contract was originally signed in and was to terminate in In 2013, I called Stericycle to complain about the large increase in their rates (which exceeded what was allowed by the contract)During that conversation, Stericycle's representative orally represented that I would have to sign a new contract for the reduced rate but that my contractual term would not be extended (it would still end in 2015)Instead, Stericycle misled me into signing a new contract that would end in Second, the termination fee that Stericycle wants me to pay is excessive and unreasonableBy charging me half the monthly rate for the entire remainder of the contract term, the termination fee appears designed solely to coerce my performance rather than to estimate the damages that Stericycle would incur in the event of my terminationI am willing to pay, at most, nominal damages to Stericycle to release me from the contract Third, since June, Stericycle has not provided me with any services whatsoever, yet continues to send me invoices Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 13, 2015/09/22) */ While we regret Dr[redacted] dissatisfaction, we believe we have acted in full accordance with the service agreement signed by Dr [redacted] officeWe have offered to work with Dr[redacted] office on potential resolutions to this matter, however this account does have a signed service agreement on file that does not expire until February 1, and they have insisted upon proceeding with the early termination of a service agreement still within its' initial term, therefore we feel the liquidated damages provision outlined in section 2c is validShould Dr [redacted] wish to resume discussions around continuing services with Stericycle and finishing out the remainder of their agreement, we would be happy to continue that dialogue
Complaint: [redacted] Thank you for sending me the response from Stericycle. I'm not prepared to "accept" the response just yet but I'm optimistic that we can work something out. Please have a Manager from Stericycle call Krystal [redacted] at [redacted] to see if we can work out something that both sides can agree to. Sincerely, Jana [redacted]
While we regret Ms [redacted] ’ dissatisfaction, we believe we have acted in full accordance with the service agreement agreed to and signed by Ms [redacted] , effective August 1, that does not expire until August 1, 2019.This agreement allows containers for the year and we collected containers to date, leaving the container overage at Our agreements reflect an additional charge for service usage above the contracted amount which includes surcharges for excess waste volumes significantly greater than average volume for similar generators or exceeding maximum allowable containers per year shall be subject to a surcharge and early termination fees if the Customer terminated the agreement early Nonetheless, although we feel the contract under which we have operated is entirely valid, we value our customers and as a measure of good customer relations, Stericycle will removed the additional container charge as a courtesy leaving the amount due for the additional containers billed $We will have one of our Managers reach out to Ms [redacted] to review a solutions for the continued service
We preface our signature line with the statement “By signing below I acknowledge that I am the customer’s authorized officer or agent and that I have the authority to bind customer to this agreement ” so that the individual reading the document will verify before signing that they are authorized to do soOn our end we have no way of knowing who is or is not authorized to sign an agreement for a particular officeTypically accepting and paying for the service for a significant period of time also serves to ratify the agreementIt is unfortunate that your representative did not read and understand what was signed In closing, although we believe our agreement to be entirely valid, in the interest of maintaining positive relations, we will waive the penalties billed on Stericycle account # [redacted] leaving the amount due $
While we regret Ms [redacted] dissatisfaction, we believe we have acted in full accordance with the service agreement signed by Ms [redacted] that does not expire until May 1, We have attempted to resolve this matter by offering to negotiate with Ms [redacted] and believe we presented an amicable resolution for both partiesAs an attempt to reach a compromise here, we will offer to meet in the middle and Stericycle will waive half of the current liquidated damages charge, leaving the balance due $

I am not subject to "periodic price increases" when this is the first bill I have receivedThe contract was signed on 6/19/The first bill is dated 8/1/On this first bill is listed "Fuel charge." The first bill was the first time I had become aware of a fuel chargeI called the company as soon as I received the first bill During the contract negotiation, the fuel charge was not listed as a part of the cost of this contractThe fuel charge vastly increases the cost of the service and if revealed at the time of contract negotiation, the contract would not have been signedStericycle was dishonest in not revealing all the costs of the contract Stericycle total monthly cost with the fuel charge is $My previous provider's monthly cost was $If I had been informed of all the monthly costs, I would not have signed Stericycle's contract The potential solution to this matter is to terminate the contract as of 9/1/with no liquidation damages Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 11, 2015/09/04) */ We had one of our Managers reach out to Ms [redacted] directly and agreed on a resolution to this matter

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I do not wish to review potential solutions to this matterIt is clear that Stericycle Incwill keep the fees I paid for May service which was not performedAt this time, it will be acceptable if both parties agree to disagree with no further request for fees/charges from each sideI will owe Stericycle $and I will accept $from Stericycle. As of this date, I have received calls from Stericycle, Incthat when asked what the call was in regards the caller requested to provide my office with a competitive quote for medical waste removal services Sincerely, [redacted]
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: While Stericycle has reached out to us and offered us other options the other options that they offered are still double the cost of what other biohazard companies are offering for the same frequency of pick ups, same number of bins I cannot see paying Stericycle the price that they are offering when another company offers half the price for same service I will never recommend Stericyle to any other business and will offer this advice: read the fine print in service agreement carefully and be aware of automatic renewal because they will not remind you of it! First of all, no one from Stericycle has contacted, or attempted to contact me, since this complaint was filed Secondly, in my complaint, I asked to see, specifically, what caused our rates to increase 57%; I received no response Finally, throughout my career, I have dealt with several waste management companies, and not a single one had any wording in their contracts where they could, at their discretion, modify the payment amount So, let me ask you - would you want to renew or extend a contract with a company that cannot keep track of who or when they contact someone, can modify their rates at any time during the term of the contract, and is either unwilling or unable to provide the reason as to why they chose to increase their rates? My company does not! Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I finally spoke to a manager at Stericycle They recognize that the call that resulted in a year contract term was misleading and could be 'valuable to use in training' and leaves us not wanting to continue business with their company We would have had a renewal option available in September of that was eliminated by a misleading phone callInstead of allowing us to cancel our services using that contract term end date, they are standing firm to the fact that we would have renewed in September (and we would not have) They have offered to only make us continue their service until May of when that automatic renewal would have expired We explained that this was not satisfactory to us In order to even reduce this term, we have to sign another contract accepting this offer....and it is our ONLY option I asked to have any automatic contract renewal removed from the revision, as we want to sever service ties as soon as possible We were told that it was not possible So we will end this dispute feeling mislead and forced into service that we are not happy with We recognize that there was a contract attached to a call to remove the $a month cost of online services we did not use However, their representative said that she just needed us to sign to approve a reduction in service level So, they essentially sneak it in under the radar and then hold all of the cards It may say something about the customer service when they keep customers by handcuffing them into long and expensive contracts.Their practices are very deceptive To any potential customer, we would say BUYER BEWARE Be aware that any service you use with them will come with a very long term contract You will also be locked into automatic renewals of equally long terms Essentially, you can find yourself locked into extensive and expensive contracts terms If you become unsatisfied, you are still responsible to pay out the entire term on these contracts in order to cancel services Also beware that any calls and attempts to add services that you are 'required' to have, are also deceptive Research any statement they make independently before agreeing to anything Be very careful to document every interaction with them We essentially have no choice but to sign this reduction in terms, as we are hostage to whatever they choose to offer We will be holding our nose while signing this agreement The only alternative is to pay the full contract term of years I made them aware that we are not satisfied in being forced to continue services with a company that has such misleading practices I told them that we will not hesitate to warn others about committing to any services through Stericycle We will now count down until the time when we no longer have to do business with them Sincerely, [redacted]
