Student Loan Support Reviews (329)

Review: I was contacted by [redacted] who stated that he worked for Students Loan Support. We talked on the phone on January 14,2014 about consolidating my loans. Before any services were agreed to I asked Mr. [redacted] to not try and steal or trick me out of any money. He stated that they were a legitimate company and that it was okay. I was contacted by Sallie Mae to not pay them any extra money on Jan 20th that this route would not be the best solution because I can get these services for free because the Department of Education would not charge me anything. I immediately contacted Student Loan Support and spoke with Esther and stated that I wanted to cancel my services and that I wanted a refund of the 297.50 plus the $29.00. I never received a call so I called back and spoke with someone else. According to the Cancellation Policy: 9: Cancellation Policy: The Student may cancel this agreement at any time prior to being approved to federal student loan consolidation or any other related adjustment or program and receive a full refund. According to Student Loan Support my loans have not been approved and they would not be approved until the last payment of 326.50 which was suppose to come out on February 28, 2014.Desired Settlement: I feel that this company misrepresented itself because they made me believe that this was the only way that I could get my student loans lowered. [redacted] stated that this was the only way and that I had to do it now to lock in my low rates. I would like my money back from this company. The full amount was $326.50. The payment can be mailed to my home address: [redacted]

We perform a Service enjoyed by many clients. It remains to be seen what free translates to but this client's refund request was given to Accounting and will be mailed this week.

Review: I filled out an application for student loan forgiveness minutes later received a call I ignorantly gave my social and dob over the phone and when I asked for information sent by mail she assured me about the company and proceeded to ask for my security question answer I felt very uncomfortable about the entire situation and the A+ rating should be removed! I want a letter stating my personal information is removed from their system and that I do not receive another call againDesired Settlement: A letter stating my information has been removed signed by CEO and assurance that my personal information will not be used for theft of identity...

Business

Response:

We can not help individuals with Student Loan Debt without their information. This individual wants our A+ rating removed because we asked for that information. We do not want business built on bad relationships and the only information we have retained for our records is the name, phone number and email the client contacted us with. We have not retained other information. We do not want to make calls to anyone not seeking our help, there is no point to that and, as requested, we are not going to call.

Not only did these people mock me about my problems, while pretending sarcastically that they feel sorry for me. They tried to sell me more crap while doing so.

They decided, unauthorized, to take $200 out of my empty bank account, over drafting it, and getting me hit with ridiculous fees. I no longer have a car, I'm about to lose my job, and close to losing my home, because these people refuse to pay back the money they stole. My direct deposit covered all the fees, which put my bank account at over $-300, but leaving me to wonder how I'm going to pay the rest of the bills. Do these people care? No. They refuse to call back, and then when they do I get bounced from one person to another that have to "talk to their supervisors" about my case.

Give me a break.

You can steal money in less than an hour, but for you to give me my money back you can just pretend like you have no clue, right?

I will let everyone I possibly can know what awful, awful people you are. I hope you get shut down.

Review: I cancelled membership on sept 2nd and also have confirmation and they charged my card on sept 4th...I was verbally told and walked through papers to sign stating that the first payment would not be right away, and they still charged me and refuse to give a refund when I didn't recieve any services.Desired Settlement: $29.00

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I found out that the company is not needed and that this is just a 3rd party solicitor. I was given a contract and was later told that $395 would be taken out of my account then would incur a 29.00 maintenance fee for 120 payments. I feel like I have been taken advantage of. I no longer wish to continue any service with this company. I have contacted multiple agents that call me asking for more information which I provided and they continue saying that they haven being able to get the right load program for me. I want my money back that was taken from me. They have taken $627.00 from me for nothing. My application hasn’t even been completed yet. Desired Settlement: I would like my money back via check, and the contract to be voided. THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHMARE FOR ME. THIS IS A CORRUPT, UNNEEDED SERVICE THAT FEEDS ON THE FEAR OF STUDENTS. I AM DISAPPOINTED BY THEIR LACK OF BUSINESS ETHICS. I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT THEY CAN CONSOLIDATE THEIR LOANS WITH OUT A THIRD PARTY!!!!

Review: This company is a fraud. They have been taking my money out of my bank account for over a year for services in helping filing and keeping my student loans from default, yet my loans have been in default almost 6 months. They have never answered the phone, avoids my phone calls. When I do get an answer, they are rude, has threatened me, and refuse to stop payment for services not rendered. They have problems with everything- Sales issues, billing issues, product issues, warranty issues, contract issues, customer service issues, etc. Just all of the above. There is one particular person named [redacted], who has threatened to sue me and ruin my credit for trying to stop the services they absolutely never render. FRAUDS, FRAUDS, FRAUDS! If a [redacted] or close combination of a number calls you, DON'T ANSWER. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. RUN! Call them frauds to their faces and hang up if you answered. Do not give them your info. YOU WILL BE IN A FINANCIAL NIGHTMARE.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my money and I want them to let me out of the contract, since they are the ones who breached it in the first place. But, you really cannot breach anything if the company themselves are fraudulent. FRAUD COMPANY WITH FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES. I want my money returned, this fraud company to never bill me again, and let me out of whatever contract I was tricked into signing.

She spoke with us regarding the recert, she was actually extremely friendly. She was working with her loan servicer directly and stated she didn’t receive the reminders for recert. We asked her to look in her junk/spam folders and explained the Perm Standard and how the recert can be doc prepped as a payment reduction to get everything back on track. The client was thankful but explained that she already had the loan servicer process everything. She just wanted to discontinue services and was requesting that the $29.00 fee in processing from 2/2 be refunded as soon as we showed it clearing. We ended the conversation with a refund of $29.00 to process for Feb fee.

Review: I completed an online form from a link in a Facebook advertisement to get information about forgiveness of student loans or at least temporairily lowering my student loan payments. I was contacted right away by a representative named [redacted]. He asked for information regarding my situation and told me I qualified for a program that would forgive my loans right away. We needed a PIN to access my information on the federal student loan site, which he applied for (something I now know I should have done myself). It would take 48 hours to receive the PIN and we set up a time for him to call in two days. I received an e-mail saying my new PIN was available, but the PIN itself was sent to him, not me. I did not receive the follow up phone call as promised. I have since left two messages on his direct line, sent him two e-mails, attempted to contact someone at the companies main number (no one answers at any time of day and voicemail is full), and sent a message through their Facebook account. I have not received any response from SLS.

Going on what he said, I have done my own research on the Public Service Loan forgiveness program. This program does not go into effect until 2017, which means it would certainly not provide me with immediate relief!

This is a company that is deliberately committing fraud. They collect personal information by giving fraudulent promises. I trusted this company because their site said they had an A+ Revdex.com rating and several other certifications for online business practices. They also had positive reviews, which I am now skeptical of.Desired Settlement: This "business" needs to be shut down immediately. They have my SSN and fortunately, I have the ability to do a free watch on my credit for identity theft. Others may not have that ability and this organization if NOT to be trusted.

Review: Student Loan Support said that they were the only way to consolidate my student loans and lower my monthly payment. After finding out they had lied to me and found I could get this service for free through my student loan company, they had already charged me $395 and have charged me $29 a month so far. Some one from there company was suppose to contact me back and I have not heard anyrthing from them. They have sent emails saying they tried contacting me but I never had missed calls.Desired Settlement: I would like my $395 and $29 back that they charge me every month and all my personal information be removed from their service

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appearI am not satisfied because they said they were the only way I could consolidate my loans and needed to pay them and pay them every month after talking to my loan company they said this is not true and I'm not going to pay my loan company each month and them each month

Regards,

Review: This company has told me from the beginning that they are a Loan Consolidation place who consolidates my loans and that my loans are being paid off little by little every month by me paying a low monthly payment. That is a LIE! I have so far paid at least 400$ to the place and I contacted the Board of Education and they have not seen one cent of it! Nor has my loan been on any kind of consolidation. I have basically been scammed and taken for a fool!Desired Settlement: I would like all of the payments that I have made returned back to me.. I payed two payments of 197.50 in March and then a payment of 29$ every month after that ending the 10th of July. So 4 payments of 29$. I also would like my name and any information to be erased from their system!

We actually submitted her file but she also sent Fed Loan information and it confused the whole process. We reached the client and will not proceed to help. The problem here is the Government does not immediately acknowledge receipt of files so that their phone support can not help.

Thank you, I got it.. I don't find it satisfactory basically because they lied. I never sent my information to another company called FedLoan.. I have no idea how they got my information and then my rep [redacted] told me that they work directly with Fedloan and gave them my information. I have the emails to prove. And the Department of Education still has said they have never received any payment from me which Student Loan support was saying that they did. So I'm basically out 500$ and they won't give it back and it didn't go anywhere. I was scammed and want my money back so I can actually pay my school loan!

Review: Last month I came across Student Loan support and input my information. Immediately they contacted me and the service representative asked me a few questions about my student loans. I gave her personal information about my student loans and personal identification. I was told that the business received an A in the Revdex.com. When I checked to see if this was true, I realized that the representative was misleading about their business. Immediately I began to regret giving her my personal information due to her dishonesty. Regards,

Review: I contacted student loan support so that they could help me with my loans and lower my payments. But after I found out I was told lies about how there are ways you can get the services for free. Another reason I was asking for a refund is because I set up two payments with them thru paypal - the first one came out thru paypal and then the second they didnt even care to send me the link for paypal and took the money out of my bank account (which I was not using to make the payment) causing my account to be overdrawn causing me to pay the bank fees. I called them and wrote emails stating I wanted a full refund because I do not need to pay to have this done. It states in the papers that I can get a refund before anything is processed and nothing was processed. I was told it was against the law for them to give me my refund. I was yelled at. I was told I was not doing my part in this by letting them do their job because I was asking for a refund. I was told there was no refund. I was told I had to keep moving forward with them because there was nothing else I could do. They were very rude the whole time on the phone. I have all the proof asking for the refund and yet no one is acting on it. So then after all this I gave up because I didnt know what else to do. I asked for this refund back in April. It is now August. It was to my understanding they had my loans and I just found out they do not have my loans. I just got a call last week and I told the lady what happened she had someone higher up call me- which he did. I told him I wanted a refund. Hes just trying to push me to stay with the company. Then tells me if I was to get a refund I would not get all my money back. It does not state this in the papers. I also have been paying a monthly payment for my account with them that doesnt even have my student loans in. I have not heard from them for over a week now since I wrote an email stating I just wanted a full refund. Ive called everyday and get nothing.Desired Settlement: A complete refund of my money $600.00 and monthly payments that total to $145.00

Regards,

This company is only invested in deceiving people who are already burdened by debt. The lesson learned (since I cannot get refunded for my aggravation) is to thoroughly investigate before giving away my money.

Review: I came across Student Loan support and contacted an Account Manager. The representative asked me a few questions about my student loans and said they can consolidate Sallie Mae loans for a small fee. I gave her personal information about my student loans and personal identification. I was told that the business received an A in the Revdex.com and they were directly affiliated with the US DOE. When I checked to see if this was true, I realized that the representative was misleading about their business and affiliations. Immediately I began to regret giving her my personal information due to their dishonesty. I also saw the plethora of complaints with this company. I would like for all of my information to be removed from their database to ensure my identification and security.Desired Settlement: I would like for all of my personal information (social security number, any identification numbers, etc) to be removed from their database to ensure my identification and security.

We removed all information except name and number for reference purposes.

This company has done nothing but help me with my situation and make me feel so much better about repaying my student loans. I completely disagree with the complaints on here. The person I have been dealing with is great at getting back to me when I have a question. Everything they said they were going to do, they have followed through with, and I couldn't ask for more. I wanted to wait to write a review until all of my consolidation was finalized and it is. I have a really good payment now and I don't feel so overwhelmed with my student loans now. Thank you guys for everything. Looking forward to working with you through the years and can't wait for my forgiveness!!! (-:

Review: I was contacted by Student Loan Support on June 20, 2014. At that time, I was informed that they could consolidate my student loans and get my payments down to a more reasonable monthly payment. They rushed me through a contract telling me where to sign, and did not give me ample time to read it thoroughly. The rep explained that I would need to pay 2 payments of $275 and also pay $29 per month for the 120 months, at which time, I would receive public loan forgiveness. I completed all the requests for my pertinent information, including pay stubs, and then did not hear back from them for weeks. I contacted them several times, without receiving calls or emails back. I kept calling until someone responded to provide me with updates on my loan consolidation. They repeatedly blamed my current lender for the delay. They also informed me NOT to pay my loan because it would be consolidated with another lender very shortly. (Originally, I was told by the end of July. Didn't happen!) After 4 months of dealing with these people, I decided to contact FedLoan Servicing myself. They had record of the "borrower" calling them previously to inquire about my loan, but I had never called them until this day! SLS had called them, acting as if they were me, and FedLoan reported they had no idea about SLS, and if they had they would not have been allowed to discuss my personal information. Also, in this call, I found out that my application for the Income Based Repayment Plan had expired; only lasts 90 days. SLS denied that this application could expire. My loan was finally consolidated after 4 months of my calling and emailing them to prompt them to do what they had promised, and after months of misinformation/no information. I sent them a letter to cancel any further services and request a full refund. Then, I received a phone call from the supervisor, who argued and yelled at me through the phone. I am waiting to hear back to learn if they will refund any of my money.Desired Settlement: I would like Student Loan Support to provide me with a full refund, as well as, remove all my personal identifying information from their database.

Business

Response:

Reviewed file, it seems client received what they signed up for regarding consolidation and the next phase would have been for PSLF certification, but she is upset with the contact rate. We cancelled further services and gave her a partial refund so that we are not responsible for the file she will now have to maintain.

Review: I was contacted by [redacted] with information about consolidating my student loans. She received my information from someone other than myself.I was told that I would pay a one time fee of $195 that was broken into two payment of $97.50. I was also told that I would be paying $29 a month that would be applied directly to my student loan. I asked many times to be sure there was no confusion and [redacted] confirmed. I reviewed the packet that was emailed to me and it showed I would be paying $29 monthly and the one time fee of $195.A week or two later I was contacted by [redacted] again. She told me that Department of Education had made some changes and that I would be paying $39 a month instead of the $29. Once again I asked more than once to be sure that I would just be paying $39. She confirmed. On the 8th of May I was charged $29. I was surprised. I was never told anything other than the $195 was going to be taken out of my account. I called and was hung up my first attempt. Second try I was helped by [redacted]. She did all she could and transferred me to [redacted]. She told me there was nothing they could do. I would continue to pay them $29 a month. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told he was busy. I asked that he call me back. When he called he informed me that I would be paying them $29 a month and $39 for my loan on top of the $195 that I already paid. It went from $29 a month to $39 a month and now $68 a month. I'm paying $75 a month now. Doesn't make sense to pay $195 to only pay $7 less a month. Especially when $29 is going directly to them and it will take me for longer to pay off. He told me there was nothing I could do for 12 months. I could just not continue with them.Desired Settlement: The total amount I paid $224 and I do not wish to continue with their services.

Business

Response:

The client's file was submitted and completed. She will have to revisit the Program yearly herself and we have cancelled any future agreement to perform work for her. We do not know why she is confused that she has to pay the DOE for her loans. She incurred a debt to the DOE, we prepared documents for her to address that debt, we charge for our services and the Doe charges for their loans. It is that simple.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

My loan consolidation was not completed and I continue to pay my student loan lender. I was never told that I would be paying them any money monthly so I never should have had that charge of $29 taken out of my account. They sent me one set of paper work to sign I reviewed and signed then a few weeks later another set that I was told only increased the payment of my student loan $10.They had altered altered the documents more than that. They added a monthly fee in there. I have spoke to a supervisor to get this resolved and he refused to help. I even asked if they could go back to the recorded conversations and they would be able to hear how I was completely mislead. He insists that they stick to a script but I don't understand how people telling me about childhood vacations is part of the script. They contacted me more than once to get me to consolidate my loan. They were very pushy and would call more than once if I didn't answer and even went as far as calling my husband. My loan was not consolidated and in the paperwork it states if I'm unsatisfied I will recieve a refund. I want the two payments of $97.50 and the payment of $29 refunded to me.

Regards,

Review: I was contacted back in January of 2014 by Student Loan Support informing me that I was eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Plan and based off my income and family size I now could pay a lower monthly amount to my student loans. I was asked to pay a fee bringing my loans current of $350.00 before I could qualify for my lower monthly payment of $29.00 a month. I since March 2014 have been paying $29.00 a month through Student Loan Support. I was informed that this payment was to be going to my actually Federal Student Loans based of my income. I have been contacted this week from Student Loan Support and they have informed me that the $29.00 a month is NOT going to my student loans and is actually a maintenance fee to their company.

All charges to Student Loan Support have been misrepresented and not charged in the agreement that was originally discussed. I have notified by email that I expect no further charges to my account and that any charge that was not put directly towards my student loads be refunded in full.Desired Settlement: I expect a fully refund from Student Loan Support for all charges taken from my account and paid to them that were not used properly as agreed. I have requested from my bank institution a copy of all transactions with Student Loan Support and have since closed the bank account associated with this company.

Review: I received a call from Todd Krejci on 11/11/2014 referring to my Student Loan that I currently have. He is with Student Loan Support LLC in Costa Mesa CA. He told me he could help me get my loan paid offer sooner and it would only cost me $450 to get set up. He indicated my monthly payments would be half of what I was paying and should have the loan paid off in half the time. He seemed legit so I gave my personal information and signed up. They took the money in two payments and I have not heard back from them. I have called and emailed and no response. At this point I just want my money back. [I currently have [redacted] and have paid them on this student loan for several years. The business I assumed was refinancing my loan was through another loan center. They were/are very misleading. I was fine making my payments to [redacted] and was advised not to make any further payments to [redacted] because this business was going to refinance and pay them off and get me into a better company that would not charge such high interest. Their purpose was to help me get my loan paid off sooner. With [redacted], I have a loan balance of over $17,000 and that figure has remained the same even though I have been paying them approximately $134 a month. I could have gotten a forbearance or even lowered my payments with [redacted] without 3rd party assistance. I want my money back from this business. they will not contact me and I have emailed and called numerous times. I did get an email that they would take it up with upper management. I received this email about a month ago. ]

Review: I recently discovered that this company has been scamming people. I called this organization to request a full refund to which I am entitled. The first representative, [redacted], proceeded to interrupt me and even laughed before placing me on a long hold. I asked to speak with her supervisor to which she responded, "I am the supervisor." After placing me on another long hold, [redacted] comes on the line and also laughed at my request for a full refund. He eventually disconnected the call. This is after I explained that I am legally entitled to a full refund from this organization.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is a full refund of $482.00 from this company.

This company failed to tell me when I signed up that the money I paid was for the application process only. They led me to believe that all of it was going towards the amount of the loan that I owe. They told me that I needed their help submitting the application for me to qualify for student loan forgiveness.

Review: [redacted], a senior account manager, has been contacting me for a long time about consolidating my loans but has been asking for almost $500 extra to do it. I have recently learned that these loan consolidation companies can not approve of the consolidation but use this as a scam to get the fee. [redacted] has my social security number as well as my husband's, [redacted], and went into our FAFSA.
