Student Loan Support Reviews (329)

Review: Student Loan Support contacted me regarding my existing student loans and stated that under the new Obama federal student forgiveness law, that they would consolidate my student loans and I will only have to pay a low monthly payment for 300 payments and the loans would be forgiven. I went through the process and paid them an initial $395 for paperwork and then $29 per month for almost 2 years via direct draft. I was contacted on yesterday from the Department of Education who states that my student loan is pass due in the amount of $1000 and that no payment has been paid to them on behalf of me and my outstanding loan with them. I was dumbfounded by this because I was led to believe that I was under the federal student loan forgiveness program. I called the number I was given when I first submitted to the program and placed on hold for hours with no one answering the phone. I will now stop this automatic draft as of today.

She needs to get her loan servicer to correct their error.

I spoke with the business and was told that they will no longer withdraw money from my account. Also, my loan servicer has corrected the error, but states that this company doesn't forgive student loans as they initially stated. They only get paid to hold the loans in consolidation status. I would like to discontinue business with this company due to their deceitful tactics.

Review: In December, I contacted this organization after getting an email that they may be able to reduce my student loan payment and after 10 years of consistent payment erase the rest of my student loan debt. I spoke with [redacted] who took all my info. She explained the terms and conditions to the loan and was very helpful ($358.00 a month was going to be my new student loan payment). I signed the contract and thought things were going to be taken care of. I felt like a burden was going to be lifted and trusted this organization to help me. Immediately on December 23rd, $297.50 was taken from my account for their services. I was also told that a $29.00 maintenance fee would be charged to my account every month on the 14th as well as the loan payment of $358.00. On January 15th $29.00 was taken from my account and every month since. I contacted them because I wanted them to know why my student loan payment was not coming out of my account but that I was getting letters from Fed Loan Servicing regarding repayment of my loan in the amount of $478.00 per month and that I needed to pay them. When I finally was able to speak with [redacted]......she says great news the Federal Government bought your loan back. This company (Student Loan Support) never did anything for me other that to make sure they collected their fees. I have since contacted Fed Loan Servicing and my loan is in forbearance for a year. I want my money back from Student Loan Support as they have done nothing but lead me in the wrong direction.Desired Settlement: I want the fees that they have taken from me refunded immediately. From December until now......they have taken $413.50 and they have done nothing for me.

I contacted this company on a couple different occasions asking the status of when I would receive a bill or have to start making payments as the $29.00 fee continued to come out of my account. I spoke with [redacted] and she just kept telling me they are working on it and her last conversation was "Oh great news your loan has been bought buy Fed Loan Servicing." I am aware of Fed Loan Servicing and that would have happened whether I had Student Loan Support or not because that is where my wife's loan is. This company is a hoax.........they make it sound good to people but do nothing to really help them. They prey off of students who are already in debt and hurting financially. I am requesting a full refund of all monies paid into this company.......immediately.

I have reviewed my student loan further and have discovered that I can go through Fed Loan Servicing without this companies intervention and get the same loan and forgiveness plan. They are taking $29.00 every month from my account when I can do the same thing on my own. At this time I once again am requesting a full refund of all monies paid into this company, as this is a hoax and they feed off innocent people.

Review: Found out that the company is not needed, 3rd party solicitor. I was given a contract, signed the contract and was later told that $395 would be taken out of my account then would incur a 29.00 maintenance fee for 120 payments. Once the first payment was received this company would start acting on my behalf to consolidate my student loans. However, two payments have been received and the company has not done anything according to their contract. They have not acted nor helped me with my student loans. They received money however have not provided a service. I say this because I have a paper trail(evidence) after my first payment was received by the company a [redacted] called me and said that their document department would be contacting me within 7-10 business days about my loan documents via email. However its been over a month since that call/email and 395 dollars out of my account. I then recently have heard from the Department of Education and said that have not received any documents from a third parties. They have not record that Student Loan Support has tried to act on my behalf nor filled out any documents. They have received almost 395 dollars from me and have not provided any service on my behalf. I am now having to close my account since with their lack of services I am now cancelling the contract on my end! THIS IS A CORRUPT, UNNEEDED SERVICE THAT FEEDS ON THE FEAR OF STUDENTS. I AM DISAPPOINTED BY THEIR LACK OF BUSINESS ETHICS. I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT THEY CAN CONSOLIDATE THEIR LOANS WITH OUT A THIRD PARTY!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like my money back via check, and the contract to be voided! they provided no service and withdrawing money....

I believe that I have been taken advantage of by this company. The first time I applied the customer service rep did not complete my application correctly. Then when I tried calling him back he pawned my off to another rep who told me I signed up for the wrong application. When I began to complain and demand my $394 back they said they could not do that because that is used to process my paperwork. I am very unhappy and want my money back.

Review: They told me that my loans would switch my loans over to their company and that they would be able to then lower my payments. Well my loans are still through the original company and they are charging me $29 more a month. Plus the $400 program start up costs. I'm out over $500 and they will no longer return my calls even though they told me that I would be getting a call from their refund department.Desired Settlement: All I want is my money back.

Business

Response:

We sent a termination letter and refund.

Review: After reading other reviews on Revdex.com's site I am aware that the services offered are a scam. I have tried to contact the company to ask them to delete my personal information, but to no avail. Their phone number is set to go to a recording and it seems a representative is never available. I have canceled my debit card, but would like the rest of my information deleted from their database.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to delete all of my information, including name and address, and to send me a confirmation of such actions.

Business

Response:

We do not want to commit employee's time for a person who considers us to be a scam. Her contact information is all that remains.

Review: Student Loan Support staff continue to not communicate with me the status of my loan consolidation even after I provided them with requested documentation. In addition, I have not received any written or verbal status regarding my loan consolidation for over a week and need to be provided with updated information as I am continuing to receive phone calls from the different loan companies regarding payments.Desired Settlement: If Student Loan Support is not able to complete this consolidation, I am asking for a full refund in the amount of $550.00 for the service that was supposed to be rendered in addition to the (2) monthly fee charges of $29.00 for the months of June and July.

Review: So my story sounds similar to husband who called about his wife. I entered info and received phone call within seconds of entering my info. I made the mistake of giving my social and birth day information. I did not give them more but that is enough. I questioned it to late and now I am afraid for my identity. Please give me in writing something securing and deleting all information obtained.Desired Settlement: I want in writing that they are a legit company, I am not in any chance of identity theft, all information and deleted frim their system, and promise of leaving me alone for life. I did not give money info but do not want my identity hurt.

Response:

We do not have any information other than name, email and phone number. A letter has been sent.

Review: I contacted Student Loan Support in June of 2014 to look into possibilities of alleviating some financial hardship through a time of unemployment and through the future. I did not have the $500 to pay for this service, so it is assumed that I actually do not receive the service until I can actually pay for it. Turns out they started servicing an account for me before I paid for their service, but never did I receive any sort of service from customer support notifying me of any services that I was being provided. I am now being pursued by their collections department. They say that they put my account into service in June. I did not pay for this service, and there is no result or signs of their service even being provided. The premise of this company is to help alleviate some of the financial burden of school loans, not ad more financial burden.Desired Settlement: Cancel my account I did not pay for. Cancel their pursuit of collections for a service I see no evidence of actually receiving.

As a matter of fact, I do NOT know that Student Loan Support provided ANY service. I didn't pay for the service, and would never expect to receive any service for that reason. Yet they claim they have been servicing this account.
