Student Loan Support Reviews (329)

We have previously tried to contact the client.  Her voice mail was full.  We also emailed her.  We also previously gave her the Processing Department contact information.  We are calling today again in the hope she reads our response and answers.

We perform a service.  We can not complete our work without critical information which includes supporting documentation....

There are 2 clients ( husband and wife)  included in our scope of services for this person writing the complaint.  We do not know how they communicate with each other but one of them has not supplied income documentation and we had conveyed that fact to them again on March 6.  At this point, we are going to refund their money and continue to help the thousands of clients benefiting from our services.

My loan consolidation was not completed and I continue to pay my student loan lender. I was never told that I would be paying them any money monthly so I never should have had that  charge of $29 taken out of my account. They sent me one set of paper work to sign I reviewed and signed then a few weeks later another set that I was told only increased the  payment of my student loan $10.They had altered altered the documents more than that. They added a monthly fee in there.  I have spoke to a supervisor to get this resolved and he refused to help. I even asked if they could go back to the recorded conversations and they would be able to hear how I was completely mislead. He insists that they stick to a script but I don't understand how people telling me about childhood vacations is part of the script. They contacted me more than once to get me to consolidate my loan. They were very pushy and would call more than once if I didn't answer and even went as far as calling my husband. My loan was not consolidated and in the paperwork it states if I'm unsatisfied I will recieve a refund. I want the two payments of $97.50 and the payment of $29 refunded to me.
Regards,
[redacted]

We researched the payments.  There was a stop payment placed on the account.  We will send a release for refund and close the accounting once the release is signed.

We removed all information except name and number for reference purposes.

Client renews with income every year, she got a $0 payment owed on her debt- already renewed for second submission.  We will terminate her and owe no refund.

I see that they said they sent a refund. I will wait to recieve it before I close this complaint. And for aggressive words ect... There was nothing aggressive besides the truth.

I want them to stop emailing me and threatening to put this on my credit report, they just sent me another email.

Review: I signed up for this service on October 25,2013 and was told that if I consolidated my federal student loans with this company that I would only have to pay $29.00 a month. I have been paying that amount since that date and just recently have been made aware that my student loans that were supposed to be consolidated are in a delinquent status. My credit went from a 750 score to a 580 score because of this company. I am irate and will take further legal action if this does not solve the issue.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back and would like my credit report fixed.

Business

Response:

Client agreed to fees for processing the consolidation. The Loan Servicer sends billing statements just like any other Business that a person owes.

Review: This company contacted me to assure me that they can get me to pay my student loans back with low monthly payment installments of $29 a months. I gave these people my Social Security Number, my FASFA pin, and my income I made last year. I have taken the initiative to change my pin immediately but, there was still time for him to get my other valid information to do whatever they please with it. I need to put a stop to these people before they do any more destruction to my credit or personal information that could harm me later.Desired Settlement: I need them to refrain from contacting me again, I want them to destroy any personal information obtained from me and take the fault should any suspicious activities take place from here on. I don't want them to disclose any of my information to any 1st, 2nd, 3rd parties and so forth. Any unnecessary changes that may take place without my consent or authorization will be at their fault. I want their assurance that they will DELETE ANY AND ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!

Response:

We have received the Complaint and will delete her information except contact information from a reference point. We will place her on a do not call list.

Review: I filled out an on-line applicaton. A man from this compant ProQuest Home Loans called me back saying that he could help me with my student loans. His name was [redacted] and his phone number is ###-###-####. I made a HUGE mistake and gave him my SS #. Since then, I have not been able to reach him. The 800 numbers provided for ProQuest Home Loans are not working either. I do not know if I have been a victim of fraud, if this is a scam or not. I am terrified.Desired Settlement: I would like someone form the Revdex.com to look into this company to see if theytruly are who they say they are, and if [redacted] is a true employee with this compnay. If you are unable to connect with anyone from this company, they should be taken down from your site as they use your site to identify them as an A+ rated company, this is part of the reason I trusted them. Please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you!

We contacted Mrs. [redacted] on Thursday, December 12. We alleviated her concerns and she asked for a different Student Loan Specialist to help her. That person is attempting to contact her. We apologized for the phone calls that were perplexing and realized that Alex had been out of town and explained that we would check on the dropped calls to our department.

Review: This company stated that I qualified for a program that would pay off my student loans as long as I paid $29.00 a month for 10 years. The rest of the loan would then be forgiven which is part of their program. I was told that it was a loan forgiveness program for registered nurses. They charged me a sign up fee as well. They took $29.00 out of my account for a whole year. I found out through Fed Loan that this account was sent over to them with no payments applied to my account. This situation is hurting my credit score and interfering with a purchase on a house. I feel that I should receive my money back so that I can properly apply the amount to my student loans.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $29.00 dollars a month that was paid for 12 months. Also the initial sign up fee as well.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution. Please respond in this space ONLY....I am not satisfied with this resolution because the company is promising false actions. Upon initial down payment the company guaranteed that I would at apptoximately $29 for 10 years and at that point my loans would be paid off. However now this company is stating that the fee charged is a "processing charge". This "processing charge" was not a part of the original agreement. I feel a refund would be acceptable for this false advertisement and for not being truthful about what my money is going towards. This company is just causing my loans to accrue interest they are doing absolutely nothing to assist me in paying off my debt.]

Review: On or around 10/27/14 I completed a contract for loan consolidation with this company. I asked for several days to review without payment being withdrawn. In the interim, my mom was diagnosed & died from cancer (3 months). I spoke with [redacted] several times asking for a refund for monies that I asked them NOT to withdraw and was assured the money would be refunded. They were very aggressive in getting my business but not so aggressive in getting back to me for my refund. I wanted to still do business with them however the way they continued to lie and tell me my refund was going to be deposited and then altogether stop responding to me, makes me believe I am not the first person this has happened to.Desired Settlement: Return my $225 that was taken unauthorized.

Review: I contacted Student Loan Support after one of my friends had recommend them saying they were very helpful with her student loan debt. After speaking with them the first time the program sounded great. I would basically have to pay a very small monthly payment and then my loans would be forgiven after 10 years. Sounded great but since my friend had gone through with it I decided to go ahead with it. I was told that each year they would review my information and my payment would be adjusted but it would not be changed to anywhere near what I pay with my current loan holder which is completely unrealistic. I paid the $395 fee. As time went on I quickly realized that I was being lied to and that my monthly payment would increase significantly and be unaffordable the following year. I decided that I did not want to go through with this program. In the paperwork they sent to me it says that a client can get their $395 returned as long as they are not approved by the Department of Education. When I stated this to the business they were unresponsive and insisted that I was the one at fault and that they did not issue refunds. I received a lot of paper work from the Department of Education stating that I was not approved and spoke to them on the phone and they stated to me that I do not qualify for their programs. I would need to contact a different place. So again I was lied to because the Department of Education was never going to approve my application because I did not qualify due to my loans not being in default. Once I threatened to cancel, the company suddenly offered that other programs were available but I told them flat out I would not be able to afford the payments and not once did they offer these programs. After this point I no longer felt this company was reliable and did not trust them to continue with my consolidation therefore I canceled the program This company did not fulfill their obligation of completing paperwork for the next 10 years, which is what the $395 was for.Desired Settlement: I would like my $395.00 back since they did not follow through with completing paperwork for the next 10 years. I feel that I was lied to and did not get all of the information necessary upfront to make an educated decision. It seems that I was receiving information in bits and parts as time went on.

Response:

We are very helpful with student loan debt. The client told us her income was a certain amount. We took her word for it and began working. We thought she would basically have to pay a very small monthly payment and then her loans would be forgiven after 10 years. We told her that each year we would review her information. She paid the $395 fee. She then produced documents concerning her real income which was not what she represented. We then offered her the programs she qualified for had she told the truth about her income. We are the ones that received information in bits and parts.

Review: After calling to get info on their service thinking they are a government institute, I signed an electronic agreement thinking I was dealing with some aspect of the US Department of Education. I called again after an hour and left a message requesting the cancellation of the agreement, which states that I can cancel within five business days. I requested a cancellation confirmation by email and mail.Desired Settlement: I would like a cancellation confirmation sent to both my e-mail address and home address. It should state that my personal information has been deleted from their system and that it shall not be used in any type of spam, fishing, or identity theft. Thank you very much.

Business

Response:

We send an email confirming the cancellation.

Review: My wife entered her information on a Facebook add with this company. It said we would hear back in 24 hours about student loan options. She got a phone call with in seconds of submitting. She was then pushed into giving quick personal information. I heard my wife giving out her social security number which got my attention. She was then giving her date of birth, employment info...etc. I eventually got on the phone and questioned the lady multiple times about different things. She had me convinced that this company was good until she told me they had been in business for 10 years. I looked it up on Revdex.com and they had only been in business for less than 8 years. She then proceeded to argue and get very pushy about needing my bank account information. All of this left me with a very uneasy feeling. I ended the transaction process and phone call. The lady sounded very upset that I wasn't following through. She mentioned how they had helped millions become debt free. On another complain I just read via Revdex.com the company states they have helped hundreds become debt free. That's a big difference. Regardless, a company I am now unsure of has lots of personal information about my wife and I, and I am very nervous about it.Desired Settlement: I would simply like a letter via USPS with their company letter head stating that my information and my wife's information will be kept safe and will not be used for any type of fraud or identity theft. I would like it signed in wet ink with proper contact phone numbers, address etc. I would also like it to state that all of my and my wife's personal information has been deleted from their system. If this matter is not resolved, I will be contacting an attorney.

Business

Response:

We wrote a letter via USPS with our company letter head stating that the first factor in our process is checking facts

with the Department of Education and our clients have to identify themselves to

do this and that we have deleted the wife and husband's information. We stated we are here to help people and apologized for any misunderstanding. We owe our clients accurate information when processing their files and that requires them to convey that information and we also ask for payment for our work. If someone wants our website or phone number, we provide it.

Review: They lied about only having to pay the $29 monthly fee no matter what. The said they were a consolidation company, but they are not. I paid $424 for services that were incomplete. When trying to get a hold of them, they don't call back when they say they will. Repeatedly asked for documentation I had already sent in. They said if I wasn't satisfied with their services at any time, I could get a 100% refund. Then when I asked about the refund the lady I spoke with said "because the consolidation process is already finished you can't get a refund". But turns out my consolidation process isn't finished because Sallie Mae still has two of my loans that weren't in with the consolidation of the other loans.Desired Settlement: I would like all my money back. The $395.00 for the initial consolidation of my loans and the $29.00 I have paid for a month of service.
