Review: Subway charges tax on heated sandwiches. There is no tax on unheated sandwiches. That's the law. The California State Board of Equalization sales and use tax regulations, Section E of Regulation 1603, says "...products, items, or components which have been prepared for sale in a heated condition and which are sold at any temperature which is higher than the air temperature of the room or place they are sold" are subject to sales tax. However, I was charged tax on a unheated sandwich, the explanation being that the fee was already in the computer. It's not the customer's problem if the cash register programmers make a mistake. Further, I find it incredible, let alone unacceptable, that a clerk can not override or adjust an erroneous charge, especially when cash, not a debit or credit card, is involved.Desired Settlement: I want Subway to (a) obey the law, (b) fix its cash register program flaw, and (c) instruct its clerks on how to adjust, cancel, or override an erroneous transaction.

Review: I went to subway and ordered a footlong tuna with pepperoni with pretty much all the veggies on 1/5/2014 and about 30 min after I felt funny and hours later I was cramping and had full blown food poising. Today is the 9th and I still have symptoms. We called the owner or manager named [redacted] he said he would call back but never did.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund and a full health inspections done on the store so this won't happen to another person. Also the employees that was working to be put into a food health class.

Review: Customer since it opened. I go there 2-3 times a week. Young girl as a manager. Told me that she could not put extra onions. The sandwich. I told her you don't have any signs posted for extra onions. And please don't disrepect me. All behind one of her workers messed my sandwich up young dude? told me the same. I told him to charge me for it. So guess what? The don't even have a button on the register for onions. Just cheese. So at first he tried to charge 60 cents. I argued that. So I was charged 30 cents. I am not pleased with this. I know that don't charge anybody else. I sent a message to subway corp. Waiting on a response. PLus I'm going to report to Revdex.com. Is that right?Desired Settlement: Place a sign that says what you charge. And have a button on your cash register. Treat everyone equal.

Response:

All the prices are displayed on the menu boards as per standard Subway requirements in California. The customers are not charged any extra for extra veggies(reasonable amount). Contacted the complainant and resolved the issue with her.

Review: I went to Subway because I had a $10 Subway gift certificate. I asked to pay the balance with my [redacted] The bill was $13.11. I was charged $13.11 on my [redacted] instead of $3.11; the gift card was not used. I didn't want to put $13.11 on my [redacted] but the manager there said there was nothing he could do. Really? The $13.11 put on my [redacted] was unauthorized and done against my will. I don't want the food, I don't want the gift card, I just want my $13.11 back.Thank you,[redacted]iDesired Settlement: $13.11 refund

Review: I purchased a 6" tuna on honey oat bread with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, jalapeno, salt & pepper. I opened the sandwich in my vehicle while in the parking lot of the shopping center. From the first bite there was a peculiar taste. It had a medicine or cleaning agent taste. I thought it was odd but took another bite and decided it would not be wise to eat anymore. I inspected the sandwich and noticed a foreign grey matter on the bread. I went back into Subway for a refund. The staff was indifferent and disagreed that the foreign particle was nothing more than the bread. The taste and appearance of this grey matter was not an ingredient. I asked for my money back. The manager made her way to the register while another associate was in front of a trash can wedged between shelving. I tossed the balled up waste, tuna that I spit out and wrapped in a napkin, into this wedged trash can. The managers attitude changed and she asked why I did that. She was informed that I threw trash away. The trash made it into the can. I was told the waste basket was on the sales floor. I was denied my refund after several demands. I have filed a formal complaint with Subway, The Food Protection Program for the state of MD in addition to the Revdex.com. I informed Subway of my intent. Something that would have cost them only $4.51 will assuredly cost them more now. I have no plans to do business with Subway ever again. I can still taste the chemical taste in my mouth after the almost 5 hours since the incident took place. I have the product in a zip-lock bag in the freezer and I welcome any review or testing of the product to determine what this unknown particle may be. The bread was laying bare on the shelf with nothing to separate it from the bottom of the enclosed metal case it was stored before my sandwich was prepared. I suspect that whatever cleaning agent is used was what's on the sandwich I was sold. I do expect follow up from all parties advised of this matter.Desired Settlement: I want the product tested and financial compensation beyond the $4.51 refund that I was unfairly denied. I will never do business with the Subway franchise therefore a gift card for their product would be insensitive and grossly inadequate. The manager on duty needs her job but she needs better training if she expects to be successful in the service industry. I implore Subway to view the surveillance from my visit to confirm that what I am saying is in fact the truth.

Review: I ordered a platter on May 15, 2014 to be picked up at 9:00 p.m. on May 17, 2014. I went to pick it up a few minutes after 9:00 and the man said that I must have the wrong store. He took the receipt and said that I paid with a credit card. I told him it was cash and he said it was a credit card. I told him I paid cash and he finally agreed that I gad and received $ 5.00 in change. He tried to contact the lady who took the order; then, he called someone else. Then there was a wait and more calls. I asked him for a refund and he said they had no money. Meanwhile I have spent 20 or more minutes there so I asked for a refund again and he talked to someone on the phone again. I asked for his name and he said that he could not give it to me. He wrote Lyly on the receipt to note who had taken the order. First he said it was too late to make the platter; then he said he could make it. I do not know if he knew how to make it; so, I asked for my refund again. He said come back Monday. Can you believe that? Poor service!Desired Settlement: I would like the refund brought to my house immediately.

June 22, 2014To whom this may concern:This letter is to respond to the above ID number. This was a miscommunication between two of the employees where they failed to mention to one another about the order that [redacted] had placed. The worker, however, should have provided [redacted] her platter but also failed to do so.We have refunded her money in full and are deeply sorry about what happened and have instituted a procedure so this does not happen in the future.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The business put me through a lot of trouble stating that they did not have money and asking me to return. I did not receive the refund until June. This was a grave inconvenience and I expect a "good faith voucher" to be used at any Subway.
