Sun Chemical Corporation Reviews (1959)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. After speaking with Mrs. [redacted] we both agreed that switching the dishwasher was the best option, but I did want to make sure the dishwasher was comparable. After completing some research we felt like the one she agreed to switch the dishwasher with was not up to the standard that we selected our current dishwasher with. I then sent her 5 other dishwasher options that met our priorities. I am attaching this e-mail. After Mrs. [redacted] reviewed the dishwashwers, we were informed she would be able to replace current broken model with one of the models, but we would need to pay $100.This is not a reasonable solution to this issues. In addition,  after telling Mrs. [redacted] our current model was full of water she suggested that I get a turkey baster to get the dirty water out before it was replaced.  At this point the only other option that was given was a  refund to be issued and the dishwasher would be picked up. I am very unsatisfied with this option as well, but we have been backed into no other options.  As mentioned the dishwasher has not functioned in 6 weeks and we are not paying to have it replaced. We are still asking that we be provided with the option we have  selected.]

[redacted] The GE rep who called made it very clear that he was not going to provide any other relief than repeating what their company had already stated and was really only calling out of courtesy.  I contend that the washer is of poor design.  The washer has destroyed multiple items over the months that I have owned it ( I have sent them pictures and am keeping the items for further pursuit), including a bath rug that had been brand new before it was washed for the first time, and GE can only say this is normal wear and tear.  GE went on to say that with new gov't regulations regarding appliances in regards to water savings, that all manufacturers are facing the same dilemma.  This is unacceptable!  Without relief, I am considering that my only other relief is small claims court.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation.  Please be advised that GE has spoken with Ms. Miller regarding her complaint with her dishwasher. Although there has been no functional failure found with the unit as a one-time gesture of goodwill GE has agreed to replace her...

dishwasher with the same model. The order has been processed. Please contact me if there are any other questions or if I may be of further assistance. Sincerely,[redacted]

Attempting to misdirect and confuse the issue, GE has responded by indicating my microwave oven is almost 12 years old.  What they fail to note is that the part at issue here was replaced one year and 3 months ago (a new GE part at the time).  This was the door switch on the microwave.  The service that was needed last week was for that very same part.  That "slightly older than one year" part had failed, and is clearly faulty/defective.  What GE explained to me over the phone AFTER THE SERVICE CALL was that they replace the faulty part; BUT guess what . . .  if any new parts we (GE) put in during a service call fail after 30 days, we (GE) will charge you (the consumer) $150.94 and up EACH TIME to come out and replace that faulty/defective part we put in.So, in other words, the consumer isn't charged $27 for the part that was supposed to work the first time they put it in, but the consumer WILL INSTEAD be charged $150 and up for someone to come out and fix GE's mistake.  This is an underhanded way to make money and this deceptive business practice is ripe for class action status; and I wish the state attorneys general would look into this as well in the interim. Also, in the interim, I will relate this dissatisfaction to all I know and will recommend staying far away from GE appliances and service.

Please be advised that a new GE refrigerator was delivered to Mr. [redacted] on June 3, 2015 per a prorated agreement with him and GE. A partial reimbursement of the prorate price to him was processed today in the amount of...

$68.97. As a gesture of goodwill GE has also issued him a one-year letter of commitment for functional repairs a year beyond the manufacturer’s warranty.

Please contact me if there are any other questions or if I may be of further assistance.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.it is absolutely ridiculous that I had to wait from November 13th to February 8th to receive a working oven, the product I paid for. In fact, it is appalling. I had to fight GE consumer relations tooth and nail to get a replacement for the broken oven. I had two service men tell me the gas valve on the range was faulty and it still took GE that long to replace my oven. They also blatantly lied to me. They told me that the first service man they sent told them I “refused repairs” when I inquired to the service company about this they sent me their report. No where in the report did it say I “refused repairs”. I am irate with GE. I demand compensation for my troubles.

[redacted]  1.      GE stated in their reply to the Revdex.com that they would have their Maintenance Department contact me and schedule repairs to my oven.  No one from GE called and therefore, no repair attempt has been made. 2.      GE needs to repair my oven or otherwise resolve the issue, such as providing a new oven at their expense. Thank you in advance for considering my request.  In addition to e-mail, I can be reached by phone at [redacted] Best regards, [redacted]
