I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution to be satisfactory ONLY because the machine is fixed. Every part of the process was a huge amount of time - even up to waiting 10 plus days for GE to pick up their used parts for disposal. The machine was repaired, they did mail a check and extend my warranty but I have to say I had a very bad experience and probably will not buy their product again, because of their customer service.

GE agreed to fix the unit out of warranty nearly one year ago, and at that time someone in the Geospring unit acknowledged to me verbally that it was due to a known defective part of the heat pump unit leaking refrigerant. The symptoms at this time are identical to the symptoms at that time. Most recently, GE refuses to repair the unit since the repair apparently lasted nearly one year. Assuming that this is the same problem, and there is reason to believe that it is as refrigerant leaks can be very slow, and likely has been gradually lowering the refrigerant level until the unit detected an error with the built in error detection. In my opinion, this is a continuation of the one problem. The first repair did not resolve the problem. Anyone who has had any experience with a refrigerant leak on their car knows that adding a can of refrigerant will appear to fix the problem, temporarily, until enough refrigerant leaks again. Was the problem ever resolved, really? Not until the leak is addressed does the problem resolve. What is a reasonable expectation of a repair to last on a refrigerant system. I would hope many more years than one.I would be satisfied with a response from the Geospring engineering team if they can determine and put in writing, in good conscience, that the problem I have described (recurrent filter light) is not likely due to a refrigerant leak that has been occurring since the last repair (knowing that the filter is clean). Also, if the engineering team says that a reasonable expectation for leak repair is less than 1 year, I will accept that.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer's situation. I have spoken with Mr. [redacted] and apologized for the trouble he's had with his GE refrigerator. Although he mentioned the problem started in warranty, we were not able to justify sending out a part at no charge on a 6 year...
old appliance. We felt that getting the part at a discounted price of $25 (which included shipping and tax) was a fair and reasonable discount for a part that retails for $94. As an additional gesture of good will, I also offered 25% off labor if he chose an authorized GE Factory Service technician to perform the repair. He declined our offer and will call me back within 30 days if he is interested. Sincerely, [redacted]Program Manager

t when I mentioned to him that a complaint was also filed with US Consumer Product Safety Commission. I agreed to let his technician come and inspect along with the refrigerator which was not scheduled for repair to my knowledge. When I called GE a couple of days ago to check the status; I was told the service ticket was closed and there were no records of any parts being ordered.3. On June 2, I received parts for the refrigerator and they were the same parts that were tried out by the technician at least twice before and did not work. Technician's 4th attempt top fix the refrigerator in early May failed and he told us that he would order the part that was originally in the refrigerator since the newer version of the part didn't work with three replacements.. I called GE and asked why they ordered the exact same part knowing it wouldn't work; and I mentioned again what GE's technician told us about ordering the original part but this i
t started to ague again with me and refused to order the correct part. I TOLD HIM TO SEND TECHNICIAN TO LOOK AT THE COOKTOP BUT NOT TO TOUCH THE REFRIGERATOR UNLESS THEY HAVE THE CORRECT PART. I ALSO TOLD MY WIFE THAT GE'S TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ALLOWED TO WORK ON THE REFRIGERATOR. 3. GE's technician arrived on June 6 and started to work on the refrigerator. My wife called and I spoke with the technician; I asked why he was working on the refrigerator when I have NOT given permission to touch it. His response was that he had a service ticket to fix it but its the same part that has failed to work and there is no point of trying it again. He also said that the part had visual defect in it. He then looked at the Cooktop and said he noticed the problem and gas smell but I told him not to fix it since an investigator from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission is already scheduled to inspect the unit on June 10.4. When GE's technician came on March 16 and inspected the Cooktop; he order some parts but at the same time gave me a number to contact GE due to safety issue. Three days later; I received incomplete parts so I called that number and spoke to a lady. She said she will not be able to order any parts since the issue is related to safety which is handled by another department and then she transferred me to that depart. Another lady picked up and I asked what department was it; I was told they handled issues related to safety of the products. I explained to her my issues and only response I got form her was "we are not going to replace the unit". I ended my conversation immediately and hung up the phone.

GE's response is a complete lie!1. GE's technician was well aware of the safety issue when he initially came out. He fixed a lighte and ordered a burner part not because it was rusting; it was because it was damaged and started to rust where it was damaged when it blew up. The tech also ordered a knob which was damaged by the fire explosion.2. GE called me on 5/31; he argued with me acted like an i

[GE contends that the service technician provided a useful diagnostic service by suggesting the ice maker MIGHT need to be replaced. We already knew that. In fact, the actual problem may have been the water valve. The technician should have run an available 4-minute diagnostic to observe that the ice maker rotated but there was no water flow. Then he should have checked the solenoid on the water valve to determine if that was really where the problem was. ]
