I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.To elaborate, yes a discount was offered and I turned it down.But no information was given on cost of part or what the percentage discount given would be.  That would of been helpful in making my decision.They wanted to send out a service call for a fee.  But they had my model number and could of had this information ready when they called me.Since they asked, the serial number is [redacted]I am not the first person with their washing machine breaking after a short time.  All you have to do is a [redacted] search for - ge washing machine hub.  There are plenty of pictures and videos of the hub disintegrated.  I can get over a 20 year appliance only lasting 3 years with a 1 year warranty.   What is unacceptable is the cost involved to fix.  Between labor and the new tub (because for the stainless steel you can not buy just the hub), it would cost more then I first paid for the entire washing machine.Lastly, nothing was mentioned about their support phone number offering me the wrong part number.  As such, I am out another 80 dollars and a part I can not use.  Any one want a cheap GE hub?

We are requesting a new unit, not a refurbishing of the defective unit that was shipped to us. When we purchase a new product it should not need to be repaired upon arrival.

I appreciate the offer by GE of $110 as partial compensation.  I was asking for $436.32.  It appears unlikely that GE will honor that amount.  I offer, by way of compromise, that we split the difference.  I am willing to accept half the amount I asked for, which is $218.00.  If GE accepts this offer, I will consider the matter closed and resolved.  Thank you.

I have been in contact with gentleman, Mr. [redacted] at GE re: my washer.  He informed me the machine needs to be repaired by the repair company and they will NOT provide a new machine for me.  "That is not our policy."  This is disappointing.  I am STILL waiting for the machine to be repaired.  PARTS are still unavailable!!!   This is just AWFUL!!   For the amount of money I have spent at the laundromat, I could have purchased a BRAND NEW MACHINE!!!!   One of the agents I spoke with in February told me I would be receiving some compensation for the MISHAPSS of this machine.  Nothing has been received 
....  yet!!   I will contact her today!!
