TopResume borders on being a complete scam. Their work on my resume consisted of slightly re-arranging some paragraphs and then adding a bunch of nonsense corporate-speak phrases to my resume. You can tell from the way my resume was re-written that the writer has no real experience in or exposure to my industry (asset management). The finished product is filled with grammatical errors. The writers are completely anonymous, so the customer has no way of assessing their education or skill level. In addition, the company provides a very short window to work with a writer, regardless of schedule conflicts that the customer may have. It's an environment where the customer is almost certain to be ripped off.

We regret any misunderstanding about this client's project. We delivered the documents the client purchased and provided revisions. The process is collaborative. We expect there to be changes, questions, etc. before we finalize the documents. The client contacted us about the dissatisfaction with the first writer assigned. We provided a second writer and sent a new set of documents on 7//20. To date, the client has not responded to the writer's correspondence. Our Support Team has not received any emails from this client.

We cannot issue a refund for this project, as the services and documents have been delivered. We will gladly partner with the client on any document revisions and/or questions, as their satisfaction is important to us.

TopResume is a business which, by its design, is almost certain to dissatisfy its customers. They represent to the public that their resume will be rewritten by people with direct experience in their field. In reality, their writers have not come even remotely close to my field, which is asset management. While the second writer they assigned was better than the first, I could tell that the second writer also had no real expertise with financial services or financial terminology. Their writers add no value, usually just shuffling around sentences that exist in the person's existing resume. Spending time on the phone with a guy who knows nothing about your industry just adds insult to injury. In addition to losing your money, you lose an hour of your time.

TopResume also doesn't tell its customers that its resume writers are anonymous. This gives customers no opportunity to review the credentials of the person doing the rewrite. Your writer could have just gotten out of prison three days ago, for all you know as a customer. I have access to the Recruiter version of LinkedIn, which enables me to see the credentials of people who work as writers for the company; I can tell you from this review that their credentials are quite weak. But most members of the public don't have access to a version of LinkedIn that costs $10,000 a year.

This lack of disclosure is what enables TopResume to misrepresent the quality and credentials of its writers. Consumers have no idea what it is the hamburger they are about to eat. Unfortunately, the TopResume fraud will continue until a regulator gets to the heart of the misrepresentation that TopResume makes, namely that customers will be matched with writers with expertise in their industry/field. If you look at the number of writers that TopResume employs and their resumes and then think about the hundreds of specialized fields that exist within the US economy, it becomes readily apparent that the company's writers can't come close to what TopResume promises. I didn't even find a writer who has ever worked at a management level within a personnel department of any industry.

We do not have new information about this claim. The client has not contacted us about revision needs or to pursue a resolution.

We have a heavy vetting process to recruit and retain our writer network, and will gladly provide more information should the client continue to question our writer's qualifications. Given the subjective nature of our products, we appreciate that the initial pairing between client and writer might not be a good fit. This is why we offer reassignment to provide a different perspective and/or different collaboration for the client.

Do not hire this company! Paid for the middle tier, and my first draft has so many misspelled words and grammatical errors. I replied letting them know my concerns and never heard back, I had to call the company, and instead of getting a callback, they emailed me letting me know my revised draft would be on its way. I received the "revised draft," and it still has grammatical errors. It is unacceptable that I'm paying for a service that is supposed to get me a job where I will be submitting reports to boards, and my resume has grammatical errors...

I have been pursuing a refund for failure to provide the service I purchased in October of 2019. I had paid 349 for a resume service and after filling out a form, I received no response. I called customer service to requested a refund after I was unable to get any service from this company. Since october I have called numerous times and have left my phone on hold for hours at a time with no avail to get a hold of a support agent. The one time I did speak to an individual, they asked me if I was calling about top resume, to which I affirmed and I was transferred to another hold for a period of time exceedin 1 hour with no pick up. I have written several times using their web form and to date, I have had no response.

"Communication has drastically decreased regarding my order and I am truly frustrated at this point. I have sent two consecutive emails to my writer with no response after being told I would be receiving the documents soon. I have not received the revised copy of my cover letter and resume, checking my inbox AND spam folder consistently. While Albert A. has "assured" me he will work with me until I am completely happy with the cover letter and resume, I was given a final revision date of July *, 2020. It is now July *, 2020 and I have no finished product or update from Albert A. regarding the first round of revisions. As stated to him, I postponed my job search in order to use the new professional documents. Having left my last position and completely funding my move back to Michigan, I still made provisions for this career investment in hopes that with a more professional cover letter and resume my job search would yield more opportunities for employment. I would like to continue my job search sooner rather than later as employment is already in unprecedented conditions given the COVID Pandemic. I need an update on my order and the revised copy I should've received from Albert A by now. I was never told about any issues arising that would postpone me receiving my documents from the first round of revisions."

This is a copy of me reaching out to TopResume's customer service. I received my initial documents (very similar to other reviews I am unfortunately just now seeing) with errors, spacing issues, etc. I sent a follow up email to my writer to which he never responded. I sent a second email that he eventually responded to only to tell me I'll be receiving my first round revision documents "soon". To this day, I have not heard from my writer or received any new documents outside of the original error ridden cover letter and resume. I sent two emails after this and also reached out to customer service with no avail from either. This company is truly unprofessional and should be ashamed at what little care they have for peoples' livelihood who are obviously searching for better career opportunities. I would NOT recommend using this service at all. I am now in the position of proofing "professional" documents that I already paid for on the account that the company is now completely unresponsive. I am truly convinced that the company's website, full of positive reviews and compliments, is nothing but paid users and profiles or employees themselves. With the extremely poor service and documents they provide there is no way they can "guarantee" 60 Day anything.

On May *** 2020, I placed an order on top-resume for a resume, cover letter, and linkedin profile. Within an hour, I felt like I had made the wrong decision, mainly due to negative reviews, and called top-resume for a refund as I did not want to use their services. The service rep said that all sales were final and that they would not offer a refund. After explaining that I had decided to redo my resume due to COVID-19 and that I just wanted to think about the purchase a bit more before finalizing, they said that the best that they could do was a partial refund, about half. I was so disappointed......I truly feel this company is taking advantage of COVID-19 victims.

Reluctantly, I decided to continue with product so that I would not be out of the money. It took over a week for my resume to be reviewed. The first edits were terrible.......I spent an hour working through rudimentary grammar mistakes, typos, and repeated words......the resume was somehow worse than when I sent it in to Top - Resume. I sent all these changes and feedback to the writer, who not only made the resume worse with additional typos and completely disregarded my feedback.

I sent top resume an email expressing my frustration. The resume they delivered as a final product was garbage - filled with typos and issues. They said that they would not issue a refund, but that they would redo the resume for free.......it's been over two weeks since they said that, and despite multiple emails to them to try to move the resume forward, they have not responded.

I want a full refund. I do not excepts this inferior product and unprofessional behavior.

I hired the services of Top Resume to re-write a resume to make it more marketable. There had been several communications with the writer however, when I told him that he did not even come close to what I expected having purchased the Executive package, communications have stopped. I have a resume and cover letter that is unusable. The package was to include a LinkedIn profile. I have repeatedly tried to communicate what my expectations are in getting all of this done. The writer has stopped communicating, the initial contact Emily will not respond either. When I call them it always says the same thing "your wait time will be longer than 5 minutes" but I literally waited close to an hour on hold. They never responded. I want a full refund and am notifying my back to contest the charge. I purchased the Executive Package on sale for 219.00 (originally 379.00. This company should be put out of business! Unscrupulous and do not deliver!!! I cannot get anyone there to respond to emails or phone calls.

We have communicated with this client about the options available for this order. We have offered a reassignment/rewrite. At this time the client has asked us to stop the rewrite process and informed us they are seeking a chargeback with their credit card. On June , 2020 I ordered the Executive Priority Resume Writing Package which includes the rewriting of a Cover Letter, Resume and LinkedIn Profile. I did not receive any communication from a "writer" until June . The first email I received was an introductory email from my "writer" stating my first draft would be over in a few days, I actually received them that same day. On June *** I sent in the revisions I wanted to make to the documents, I sent the same email 3 times over the course of the next 4 days I not only sent my concerns to my "writer" I contacted their "support" as well. I heard nothing from anyone at this company, as they give you 7 days to complete all the revisions and I was already on day 5 and I had a very rough first draft, I was extremely upset. I eventually heard from Katie W, who offered to get me a new writer, this did not happen. On June *** my "writer" emails me with "I am sorry for the delay I have been sick" I was very shocked to learn that there is no coverage for when people are sick, when I am out sick at work someone else is my back up to ensure that my customers are taken care of and there aren't any lapses in customer service. I re-sent my "write" my changes again for the 4th time, this was the SAME round of changes. I got to a point where I had given up all hopes for this experience to be turned around, however, TopResume DOES not care about their customers or the service that they are giving their customers.

I was 100% dissatisfied with the service I received and the sub par documents that I received as well. When I talked to Katie I had stated I would like a refund as my experience with them has been dreadful. I honestly feel like I wasted $349 because I did not receive the goods or service that I was expecting. From order date to "completion" this transaction was 23 days long, it took almost a month for them to "complete" my items. I do not understand how they can operate a business in this fashion.

I received a draft resume and cover letter, based on my own documents that:

1. completely misstated my experience; included awkward, choppy language and some typos.
2. misstated my current role/position, neglecting my years of experience and recent promotion.
3. after initially rejecting the documents, I was still subject to the 7-day window to edit.

I did not receive the service or quality document I was promised and have sought a refund. TopResume ignored this request and I am now attempting to resolve with my bank.

Once I filled out the first set of questions they asked, I received an email confirming that a writer would be working on my resume and then nothing happened. I have waited over a week for some kind of response to my multiple emails, phone calls, voice messages, Facebook messages and comments on Twitter and still have not heard from them. I am trying to get a full reimbursement and give my business to another company. Would you please help me?!!

With the job market saturated with millions of unemployed Americans, I thought it would be time to have a professional review my resume since it has been some time since I have revamped my resume. I provided them my resume, cover letter, and completed the questionnaire of my accomplishments. I stressed that my resume mostly focused on what I did and not accomplished. I would like for it to focus on what my resume accomplished.

After waiting for about 10 days, I got back basically my own resume with the same content. They either swapped out a single verb or shuffled the same words around in a sentence - the end of the sentence to the beginning and beginning to the end. Besides giving me back my own resume with its same content but with a layout and format change, it was littered with proofreading errors. I showed a colleague of mine who recruits for IBM. He was in shock that this was a paid professional with these kind of errors. My last name and phone number were incorrect, but there were so many grammatical errors - missing commas, subject - verb tense agreements, and incorrect words such as using improvising instead of using improving. There were several sentences that just didn't make sense.

I immediately responded to the writer, it took him 5 days to respond back to my concerns and then asked me to provide a redline version of the draft. So I had to provide my professional writer a road map to all the mistakes. He responded that he would immediately make the necessary changes and address my concerns that none of the accomplishments that I provided to him were not used in my revised resume. I waited 2 weeks to get back the redline version I had already provided him and he swapped out some content that was from my original resume into the second draft that was not previously used.

I again responded as to what happened. What happened to my list of accomplishments? Why did this take 2 weeks to complete? My revised resume sounds the same with no added value. Its been crickets from the writer.

When I was contacted by Top Resume I was asked if I wanted a review of my resume....they sent me a note telling me problems in my resume and told me they would pair me with a professional writer who would present me with a professionally written resume that would optimize my chances. The resume I received was a poorly formatted resume that left out much of my experience and education. Not only that but it was rife with typos and poor grammer. I sent back the information requested and the my personal requested edits. I did not hear back then today I received an email saying I only had one day to send back any feedback. I have already sent them more than once.

I am convinced that this service is either fraud or a scam. I read all the glowing reviews online enough to put down $349. What I received was basically a joke apparently written by a child. There was no real content or details and certainly in no way a start to a professional resume. This was back in March. I have contacted them multiple times starting on March *** and as recently as July and all I received were hollow promises to get back with me to complete the process but at this point, I have wasted enough time and am filing a claim against them to get my money refunded.

Their response is partially accurate but it wouldn't be fair to other consumers for me to just be lazy and accept it as they wrote it so here is the rest of the story. When I ordered the service in March, what was delivered to me was junk, totally incomplete, and suddenly my order was "finalized" with no revisions made whatsoever. Admittedly both this business and I were impacted by COVID-19. I did NOT ask to pause this process - specifically what happened is that the window of time elapsed where the 'writer' was not getting back with me and the 7 day period expired, so I wrote to ask if and when I could have a new 7 day period. To that end, what they do not mention in their response to my complaint is that 1) I have an email from TopResume saying "We wanted to touch base given your recent concerns. Your original writer has become very unexpectedly unavailable to continue with your project and this has just recently been escalated to our attention." 2) when I reached back out on June , I did not hear back from anybody at all. When I wrote in again one week later on June *** to follow up, I received an acknowledgement the same day that they got my request but then I heard nothing back beyond that. On July *, I emailed again asking what is going on, and four days later on July I received another "acknowledgment" with no action taken. This is the date on which I filed my complaint with the Revdex.com because as you can see, it clearly felt like I was getting the runaround. Most important to note is that it was not until *afterthey received my complaint from the Revdex.com that suddenly they were SUPER responsive and I had someone working on this right away who did an adequate job, I'd say 4 out of 5 stars. Had all the middle part not have happened, I would have been satisfied. As it played out though, this is not the way to run a business.
To summarize, am I satisfied with the end result, yes, VERY reluctantly, I will say that at the end, I am "satisfied." Will I work with them ever again or recommend them to anybody? No chance. This was a painful and time consuming experience and no one should have to file a complaint with the Revdex.com in order to get what they paid for.

I paid for this service and the product I received was horrible. It was not well written. When I explained to the writer they didn’t want to listen. I moved things on my own and correcting some of the things but then the writer ended up changing it back to the way they wanted. It was basically my original resume sent over and formatted a different way. Nothing was corrected and there was several grammar errors

I paid $119 for a resume. I clearly communicated with the assigned writer. The document I received contained blatant misrepresentations of my experience and job titles. When I complained, I was immediately transferred to customer service. I asked for a senior writer. Several days went by, and no writer was assigned. I requested a refund multiple times, and suddenly I was told a senior writer had been located. I declined and asked for a refund. My request was "transferred to management", who replied after a few days that they would refund 30%. I responded that a 30% refund was not acceptable, and the reply was simply that they were sorry we couldn't come to an understanding. They have collected $119 from me and I have nothing.

I do not have a job since March 2020. I saw TopResume service on the Australian Linkedin page and also confirmed with Katie Warren that you are able to service me for the Australian industry as I based on Melbourne, Australia. I am not in my top mental health and financially broken because of no job for 4 months.
But I still have paid (06//2020) for Executive Priority (Resume, Cover letter, LinkedIn) and also a Phone call consultation (total USD $ 399 which is AUD $519) for the service. Order Number # *** and # *** And completed their required questionnaire on 06//2020. Since, then they are saying that working towards pairing me with a writer, but no services. I repeatedly ask them since 06//2020 - if you can't provide your services then please cancel the order and refund me. There is no response on this. Please help me. Kind regards

I'd give them a Zero if that was an option. They resume they sent me was terrible! I have 35 years of important experience and they made me look like a kid out of college with no experience. They have been unresponsive and I have yet to see a rewrite in a week. Worst move I could have made - total waste of money.

What can I tell you that other reviewers have not? My interactions with support have been abysmal. They've said they want to make things right (an acknowledgement that what I receivied isn't up to snuff) and offered to rematch me with a more senior writer and also expedite the service to ensure that I received "a reworked draft within a few days." Within 2 minutes of receiving their email, I responded saying "Okay. Let's give it another try." I didn't receive any response within 3 days, so I wrote another asking for an estimated date for completion and let them know if it was more than 8 more days, I wasn't interested and wanted a refund. When they finally responded 9 DAYS later... they insist they're only option is to "repair my document".
My original order was submitted May 11th. It was 15 days before I was matched with my writer, 5 days until I heard from him after being matched. What did I receive from him? My first draft, despite paying for a phone consultation. So the next day we talk for 15 minutes (half my consultation time) and he says he'll rework the draft within "a couple days". I didn't receive anything for 9 more days. What I did receive didn't have any of the reworked content we discussed and looked like it was written by high school student after pulling 5 all nighters during finals week.
I've paid to have my resume done before. They took my excellent resume that simply needed some updating and polish to make sure everything was cohesive and somehow managed to completely ruin it. I'm absolutely baffled how it is even possible.
It's been nearly 2 months and they still can't get it together. The fact that they're not willing to offer refunds and that there's no sign they've slowed down accepting work DESPITE the fact that they're clearly not equipped to handle the extra demand is ludicrous. You'll see they're replying to everyone who is complaining here. I doubt they're actually doing anything meaningful about these issues. The replies are simply meant to sow doubt that they could possibly be this awful. They are this awful. Don't waste your time or your money.

My name is ***. My order number is ***. After ordering and filling out the profile, I received multiple emails indicating my profile wasn't complete. The links provided took me nowhere. I called twice and was on hold 30 minutes and 47 minutes respectively. Only one call was answered (the first one). The representative indicated they had an issue with the questionnaire and the IT department was working on it. I asked for a full refund and she said it would be processed tomorrow. I received more emails saying my resume was done and ready to download. No download links. I emailed *** 3 times over the past 3 days. The automated email back said I would be contacted by the end of the day. Nothing. I tried the chat option but they all indicated I should call or email and they were only able to provide pre-sales help. I paid $308 and have not received anything, an call, any document. This is a massive scam. MASSIVE! They even have the nerve to send out an email for customers to evaluate their service. After filling it out, I click submit and the page did nothing. I tried same form in multiple browsers. Ablsolutely nothing and no one works at this company.
