Don't contract TopResume. I had two writers and both generates resumes with details from others people resumes. They included job I never had, skills I don't have and they offer no apology for their terrible service. I have been told they will be refunding my $349.00 but I honestly don;t think they will honor that promise as they have broken every promise so far and lied every chance they get.

Your Resume and success finding a job is too important to place in the hands of a dysfunctional organization like TopResume. Don't be fooled by the bogus ratings and websites that state they are the best service. You will be disappointed and out a lot of money,

Do you research, check Revdex.com and other legitimate rating sites and read the reviews. I know I wish I had done my homework first.

I ordered Executive Priority which cost $349(plus $50 option), the highest against $149 or $219 lower plans.
This promised an "Executive writer - Top 10% of our network".
after few days, I received an email from Kim with no last name, and introduced him/herself to be working on my resume.
a day later, received a draft, which was only English re-writing. No editing on any of the professional fields and they remain original text.
I then submitted 3 mails to explain more details that Kim would definitely need in order to write.
several days, no updates at all. Kim then sent me an email saying my due date is about to be over unless I send a response which I did few times already..
I escalated to a customer support who apologized and promised a new writer who is more senior writer.
Then Kim sent me an email saying *** was late because Kim was sick.
Now after 7 days, there is no writer matched. So I claimed a cancellation. My original order was April ***, and there is nothing so far except for the very first draft which is a level of a university English major with no business world experience would be able to do, maybe better.
I am tired of communicating with Top Resume who is not honest nor professional.

It took me great efforts trying to communicate with TopResume customer support who are technically anonymous, using a face first name only and always from different name, but finally they have agreed on refunding, and have confirmed that the refund had been made.

The mails are more than 30 total, and has been going on since mid April.

I contracted TopResume to provide a new cover letter, redo my resume and provide updates to my LinkedIn profile. The first draft of the cover letter and resume were terrible and in accurate and the person doing the rewrite was unresponsive my my requests. Contacted support for a refund and they refused, but agreed to provide a different writer. This new writer produced a different cover letter that had major issues and made me sound like I was just starting my career. (I have been int he same career for over 30 years). The draft resume they proved was incomplete and had less information than my original resume. I noted several issues and requested a mew rewrite. 2 weeks latter I still don't have a solution from them. I have been sending support emails on a daily basis asking for updates and next steps, but they never respond.

This sounds like the same canned message I received regarding my first complaint. I have answered every question the writer has asked, but I am still no closer to obtaining a resume that will receive responses. I al sure it will pass most ATS system as each resume they have presented so far has almost no information.
Frankly I have no confident in their service and at this point even if they provided a completed resume, I have no confidence that it will be worth it.
One of the other services I have purchase as part of the package is a LinkedIn update to my profile. Again they still have not provided a reasonable resume and I am apprehensive about letting them change my LinkedIn profile that I have spent years building. If that service is anything like the resume process, again I have no confidence in their ability.
Please stop waiting your time on a resume that I will never use, as I don't have confidence in the TopResume process, and will never us it if they do provide one, eventually. Please just refund my $349.00 and he can all consider it a lesson learned.

I purchased an executive package from Top Resume and was promised to have my resume professionally updated by an executive writer. Their agreement calls for myself and the writer to frequently collaborate until the resume is to my satisfaction. Not only was the resume a disaster, full of grammatical errors, but the writer knows nothing about my field. Furthermore, he never responded to my feedback until a week later, now telling me that I am about out of time. Additionally, he only addressed (unsuccessfully) 1 of my 4 concerns. I contacted customer service several times and all they did was offer me a free follow up letter. I told them I just need what I paid for--a professionally written resume that I feel is to my liking. I have asked to cancel my order or to have someone else write my resume, but they never responded. I called their customer service number, but they never returned my call. I have several jobs I want to apply for, but my resume is still not ready (supposed to be 48 hours but has been 10 days). During this pandemic, it is crucial that I submit my resume promptly as there are hundreds of people applying for the same job(s). I am a Director of Operations and my resume looks like something I would find written by a high schooler with an app, Thank you!

This company charges $349 to help re-write your resume to help you get noticed by companies with software platforms. What you don't see from reviews on other sites are people who paid. My re-writes and resumes are not materials I can use. They are grammatically incorrect, the first copy included duplications and grammatically incorrect sentences. The second draft, new writer includes grammatically incorrect sentences. "Enlarged customer traffic" "Ensured the continues growth "Safeguarded converted rate". These are taken directly from the samples and are no joke. The customer service has been horrific, my request for a refund has been ignored because their policy states so. Their policy also states I would get something I can use to further my career and that is a lie unless the place I am applying for cannot read as well as their writers can write. I am so sickened in a time like this to deal with a company all I want is a refund. I haven't even received what I paid for so I am unsure why I cannot be given a refund.

I paid them $219.00 for resume service. They sent an unfinished product and full of inaccurate information. They make promise and do not deliver. It is a ripoff. This company needs to be shut down. They have a pattern of deception. Jeff B you need to get your act together and deliver what you promised otherwise close your doors. Stop ripping off honest citizens .

I wanted help in updating my resume and after hearimg critique of current resume I thought these people really know what to do. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. Even after requesting help because writer ( upcharge ) who was supposed to have more experience was horrible and didn't listen to myconcerns with resume changes HORRIBLE experience and costly one SAVE YOUR MONEY and go anywhere else. Be smarter then I was. I WILL BE PUTTING THIS MESSAGE ON ALL REVIEW SITES HORRIBLE

Received my resume and cover letter in about a week, which was surprising given that the content I provided was simply put into a template. Writer slow to respond to inquiries and provided almost noting in the revisions. Products contained logical, format and grammatical errors. Writer unfamiliar with my industry and/or did not review the products after filling templates. Look elsewhere!

This company is hiding behind an unscrupulous business named Affim. They take money upfront with no final agreed on product. Never received my resume or refund after asking.

I bought the highest tiered package from Top Resume to update my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile. Upon review of the first draft I noticed the lack of format (it was a Word Doc with a couple bullets), grammatical errors, and an overall misrepresentation of my skill set which I previously shared when filling out a questionnaire and providing my current resume/cover letter files (and LinkedIn profile link). It was so glaring I asked for a full refund after sending through marked up documents back showing the several areas where information was either not professionally written, or simply didn't even apply to me as a professional in any capacity.

The person Laura M who sold me the service, without even looking at the disparage between my original documents and what was provided, asked me to send detailed notes back to the writer Crystal (which I had already done prior to asking for a full refund) and then went on to say that my claims were subjective. She then asked me to send examples of professional resumes to give them a better idea on what I wanted (which is strange as the service should extensively know what a professional resume looks like if they are charging customers to update theirs). I was able to Google in less than a minute examples of formatted, compelling examples and attached them so she could preview and see the glaring downgrade of quality in what I received herself. Instead, after sharing all of that and proving I had already sent feedback that was simply copy/pasted into a second draft (which I did NOT ask for) and was no better than the first draft, Laura conveniently never responded. In talking with the writer Crystal she promised to make my second draft convey me as "more of an achiever vs. a do-er" oddly, that was what LAURA M had told me in selling the product! Clearly there is a script that is re-used among the staff there as that was what I THOUGHT I was buying that would be implemented in the FIRST DRAFT- clearly all I was originally fed was a generic liner to get my excited about buying the service which returned nothing. What I received I can't use in any capacity which is why I feel entitled to a full refund. I even mentioned to Laura in an email that I never used the LinkedIn profile service so that shouldn't even be a question in receiving that refund (which is ~$100) but for the trouble and obvious downgrade in quality from my original documents, assuming she previewed them herself, that the full refund of $350 would be granted. I did not receive a response which is why I have had to resort to filing this, so I can engage this process with a professional consultant and/or download a template myself from online and work on it without paying an outside company given my poor experience with Top Resume.
I was also told that the Client Care team had been notified by the writer Crystal and that they would be in touch- I have yet to hear from them and it's been days! Please help me receive a refund for the "services" that were not as advertised and wasted days of time and hours of editing material that was worse than the original documents I was looking to revamp. Thank you so much for your time in looking into this!

I placed an order for the Executive Priority Resume Package on January *, 2020, to have my resume written at an executive level that would include the resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile, created by an executive writer. The first writer assigned was Mark M. on January ***. I received a couple of drafts that had many errors, horrible formatting, and excluded important skills. I was very upset with the documents from the first writer. I was reassigned a new writer, Traci on January , 2020. Again, on February , 2020, I was still unhappy with my drafted resume results. I had to make several revisions and edits to my documents that I shouldn't have to, and this took a lot of my time. Therefore, I hired TopResume to take care of all the edits and write a powerful executive level resume and LinkedIn profile. Not at all happy, I asked for a full refund but was denied since work has been provided. This has been a horrible experience and the quality of work was well below professional standards. My resume did not pass through any applicant tracking systems as promised. TopResume also stated my resume would be professionally written by experts that know your industry. Neither writer had a background in marketing or clinical research. TopResume’s 60-day guarantee failed. I've not had any interviews, yet they refused to give me a refund. This is poor business practices.

I have not heard from TopResume in refererncing this complaint to offer a full refund. I received an email on 04//2020, with an offer for another rewrite. This is not acceptable.
I've already had two "executive" resume writers draft resumes and neither writer could write my resume at a professional level. I do NOT want a resume rewrite. This will be a waste of my time and the writer's time.
I was hoping to have an executive level for a transitioning career resume within two weeks as promised. However, the drafted resumes by both writers were not executive level or professional for my field of work. The writers asked me to provide a written description of what I mentioned to them during our telephone conversation. They copied and pasted what I sent. I also asked that they not start my sentences with "I". They did anyway.
I'm so very dissapointed in the lack of professional level resume writers. If I were 20 years old this level may be acceptable, but not for a mid-career transition.
Again, I'm requesting a full refund of $349.00. I will not accept another rewrite.

This business, TopResume, is not professional and does not operate in the best interest of the client. Their product is below average and NOT worth the incredibly high fee they charge. They state that my resume is ATS compliant but there is no way they can determine if it is ATS compliant without a job posting. The ATS parses a resume's content into categories and then scans it for specific keywords to determine if the resume is a match. Your resume must be tailored specifically to each job for which you’re applying.

Again, I'm requesting a full refund of $349. I've already had 2 so called experts try to write my resume and fail. Neither of these 2 resume writers were expert job recruiters. They were everyday people just doing a job.

I will ask Revdex.com what is my next course of action should you not send a full refund in 1 week. I'll be speaking to a probate attorney as this kind of deceitful and unethical business has acted unfairly and illegally. It is a criminal misdemeanor for any business to engage in unfair or deceptive business acts such as TopResume causing financial harm due to such deceitful practices allowing me to seek compensation for my financial losses. Plus you will pay the attorney fees.

We communicated with this client to address and resolve their concerns, which included 2 reassignments and subsequent document delivery. We have provided professional documents that align with industry standards.

False advertisement - this company is a fraud. They do an initial look at your resume and respond with detailed issues like passive wording, etc then upsell for a writer to fix it. They took a 5 page technical resume and sent back a 2 pager with the most archaic wording and generic summary plus a cut & paste of the original job description. Also it took days for the writer to be assigned then days for the writer to respond to my request for a refund. The writer refused a refund or to give me a customer service contact/referral. I had to hunt down a contact who took days to respond and refused to provide a refund. I persisted and they said an internal review board would take a look and get back to me - all while declaring their archaic resume style is actually the latest and greatest. I can say I have worked at top silicon valley companies and a two page resume is no longer the norm. also where did they correct the 'passive wording' per the first intro email? SUCH A SCAM. the "review board" came back with a 30% refund. THEY DIDN'T DO 70%. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. AND THEY'RE PREYING ON THE UNEMPLOYED.

I ordered the top resume package in Jan 2020, and according to the their guarantee you should get twice the amount of interviews than before. Since that time I HAVENT RECEIVED 1 SINGLE INTERVIEW from their resume re write. I contacted them about the refund and processing it to be told I wasn't getting a refund and that it didn't it the guarantee. Well what does? you offer states A and A didn't happen.

Resume, Cover Letter, and LinkedIn improvement services were purchased from this company in your state.

After giving them much of my information, the product I was returned was incomplete and did not address specifics I had outlined in the initial communication. If fact the resume was not even for my career. I returned the document for revisions and they returned the document on the last possible day for me to give feedback. They cited "technical issues" as to why they couldn't get it back to me sooner, thereby burning through the time I had purchased for their services. The poor quality of the document was not $350-worth as had been sold to me and had many omissions/errors. The requested LinkedIn improvement also never happened. I tried to contact TopResume customer service and they refused to address what went wrong and any refund or discount.

Of note, their site also prevents low-star reviews from being posted.

The Washington State Attorney General’s office acted on my behalf. The business’s reply stated they would refund the amount paid. This resolves the issue.

I was very excited to get my resume professionally written but did not expect for the most unprofessional service I have ever used. They treated me like I was an it and scammed me. I got my first copy of my resume back and it was riddled with spelling and grammar errors along with plenty of informational mistakes. I decided to try to get my money back instead of moving forward because it was so bad. They offered me 30% of my money back and essentially told me they would not do any better than that.

I signed up for this resume writing service after I received a free critique of my resume. I purchased the top package offered for $349.00 which included a resume, cover letter and linkedin page. I also added two options for an additional $125. Those options included expedited service as well as a phone call with a resume expert.

I ended up getting a copy of resume and cover letter that contained many grammatical errors and unusual phrasing. The verb tense changed from past to present tense. The sentences did not make sense and it looked as if it was machine written, and I was supposed to get matched up with a professional in my industry. The cover letter was extremely generic and did not even make sense and was not usable. We had also scheduled a call with the writer, and she did not show up! I realized I would have to rewrite the entire resume and cover letter line by line myself, and there was no point to this. This is a classic bait and switch. Their free resume review was great, and the quality dropped significantly after you paid already. Nothing from the free review was even applied to my drafts.

I requested a refund and they said I can do 30% refund, which is insulting considering I did not get any of these services (Final resume, Final Cover Letter, Phone call with writer, LinkedIn rewrite).

I paid close to $500 and am looking for a job in a touch market and feel they have taken advantage of me.

Horrible, horrible experience. It took them forever to assign a writer after I'd filled out their questionnaire. I complained about the delay and was then assigned a writer who didn't understand my experience, had no grasp of my industry, and ultimately was a terrible writer. I learned of them through AARP, which I thought was something of a guarantee of the quality of their work, but I was very wrong. I am in the process of re-working my resume myself because I am certainly not going to spend money to hire someone else after this experience. Honestly, I have been responsible for hiring employees in several of my past positions and if the resume that TopResume delivered to me was one of those that I received, I would have discarded it. Just. The. Worst.

Paid for resume and cover letter writing service. Agreement said draft would be delivered on March *** Writer contacted me on March *** asking for list of accomplishments correlated to the job titles. Remitted the information, and still did not receive the draft. Waited 48 hours then contacted original contact explained concerns and requested a refund. No reply. Next day get an email from the writing requesting the same information, I responded by email with info. March *** received a draft that was essentially blank. Wrote original contact again voicing my continued frustration and requested full refund.

I paid for an executive package of a resume, cover letter and Linkedin rewrite, valued at $349. Satisfaction is supposedly guaranteed, but upon recieving the finished product, I was not satisfied. I consulted some HR professionals and recruiters for feedback, and they advised me to not use the TopResume documents, as they were poorly written and would not reflect well on me professionally. I contacted customer service for a refund, and they did not respond. I reached out again, and they said that I was outside of the satisfaction guarantee window, and that they could not help me. I reminded them that I had asked within that time window, (with proof), and they are ignoring my requests again. At this point, I would prefer a refund as I cannot keep waiting for a finished product that may be amateur anyway.

In December of 2019 I paid TopResume for a resume and cover letter. The service was horrible and unacceptable I was overwhelmingly disappointed with the money I wasted. They butchered my resume and gave me an off the shelf cover letter. I reached out to customer service to ask for a refund and while they agreed a terrible job was done they would not refund me. They only offered to pair me with another writer. All of their writers should be good. I do not want another writer or to waste my time with their service. I want a full refund and believe they are running a scam based on what I received.
