I ordered the highest package from them at a discounted rate for $219. It included a cover letter, resume rewrite, and LinkedIn profile rewrite. I only got a cover letter which was in the worst possible font and format, and a résume that is everything that people in my field have told me NOT to do. I had a friend look over it and they asked if it was a joke, ran it through the ATS (applicant tracking system) and I got a 29% match for the positions I would be applying for.
I gave my review for the first draft they sent and the next day I get a generic email that says “don’t forget to review your draft” so I respond again and I don’t get any human responses, just email templates that are not personal at all.

posted what purported to be a job posting on ***.
This led to me applying for the job, only to find out at the end that there was no job to apply to (chain led to a broken link at the end) and a sudden, immediate flood by topresume of attempts to sell their services to me as a result of applying to the job.

This has been reported to ziprecruiter's abuse department with no response as of this time.

This is not a problem with ZipRecruiter- this is a problem with TopResume.
Much as many businesses are linked to by Google, and it is not Google's fault when those businesses are dishonest, it is equally true that the job posters linked to by ZipRecruiter are individually responsible for what they post.
ZipRecruiter passed me off to TopResume, which stole my personal information. This entirely happened on TopResume's site. They had offered a job application in exchange for personal information.
I entered the personal information and received what was obviously a deception designed only to steal my information. There was never a job application to be had.
The complaint is still valid because there is value in personal information and there was an offer of trade for that information that was not completed on their part.

On 12/*/2019, I paid Topresume for 2 products: single resume for $139(order # ***) and executive priority package including resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile) for $249 (order #***). Included in the priority package pricing was the LinkedIn profile valued at $125. I was told by the customer service professionals that the LinkedIn service would not start until the resume service was completed. After reviewing several versions of the modified resume, I was not pleased with the outcome so I reached out to the resume writer and to customer service about my concerns. I requested to speak with the resume writer and was told that it would cost me $50 to do a phone consult. The instructions that I provided for the resume were not implemented properly and the resume writing professional just did not seem to understand my needs. On 12//2019, I requested a refund for the LinkedIn profile development associated with the first resume written ($125 value) and a refund for the second resume that was ordered ($139 value). I was told by customer service on 12//19 that I was eligible for a $169 refund. I stated that I should be refunded for both the LinkedIn and the 2nd Resume. I stated that I received a deliverable for the first resume and cover letter and I acknowledged that I should be responsible for paying for these services. On 12//2014, I received an email from Ashley, the resume writer sending me a copy of a partially completed linkedin template asking me to fill it out after I requested a refund. Customer service had been notified of the refund request and cancellation of further service, however, they allowed Ashley to submit this document to me anyway trying to get out of giving me a refund for the LinkedIn profile that was never initiated. The company was extremely vague in explaining why they were not refunding me for a LinkedIn profile build out that I never received and requested halt of services for prior to receipt of any files for LinkedIn.

The response does not address the complaint. My complaint is that the company is refusing to provide me with a refund for services not rendered for LinkedIn development services. The services are valued at $125 and I will not take less than $60 for a refund since the company has not provided me a true breakdown of the assigned cost per service for the bundled package of $249 that I purchased. The company continues to tell me how discounted the cost is for the bundled services, however, I provided the company with a completed resume for them to revamp and I already had a LinkedIn profile for them to review and make edit suggestions. The only item that I should have paid full price for in the $249 package was the cover letter in which the company developed from scratch. I do not know the value assigned to any of the single items that were bundled for $249 (resume development, cover letter, LinkedIn profile development) but I know for sure that I requested a refund for the LinkedIn and no service or deliverable product for the LinkedIn was rendered to me.

I am a retired lieutenant with the Maryland State Police and I hired TopResume after a free “review” of my resume. Their first draft took my original resume and literally removed everything relevant about my command experience. It’s clear they have zero understanding of law enforcement. I sent back the items from my original resume that I wanted included and they literally cut and pasted the exact wording into my resume and then rearranged it so that it was almost the same as my original resume. Except for page 3, that looks to be formatted differently than the rest of the resume. I want a refund.

TopResume first offered to re-do my resume. Now they have offered me a 30% refund, and to re-do my resume. I am NOT interested in working with anyone at TopResume. They have wasted 3 weeks of my time with the resume writer they originally assigned to work with me and cost me opportunities that I did not apply for. I have read the reviews and complaints from other customers online who have said the same exact thing I did -- they know nothing about the type of job I'm applying for or my background. I want a full refund.

Rethink TopResume. I ordered the Career Evolution package with the 60 day interview guarantee. Not only have I gone through several drafts of my resume before a final draft and a few glaring mistakes on my cover letter, but did not get one interview as a result of this "guarantee." I have not had one phone call as a result of my resume and I have competitive work experience. There is no money back option and if you go beyond 180 days with no call or request for interview (which is MUCH worse), they will not only refuse to revise for free and refuse to refund your money, but they will ask you to buy a "discounted package." Why would one put more money into something that didn't work in the first place? I am beyond disappointed that they were not flexible, working with people who are earnestly looking for better employment. Try somewhere else.

I ordered the executive package and paid extra for “48” hours expedition. The person who “wrote” my resume admitted that they are not familiar with my profession and their draft could have been done by a high school student. Then when I complained they said that they were closed for 5 days for thanksgiving! The writer replied 6 days later and then after a total of 9 days, they were closed for 5 days during these 9 days, they said that my revision period was over!!!
I had a potential employer and I had to write my own resume.
They refused to refund me any of my money and they still refuse to do so!
They only offered to give me a senior level writer, but if I already paid for the highest level of service, how come there is a more senior writer? Why didn’t they assign me from the beginning.
I review an average of 140 resumes per year and I know what I’m talking about.
In addition, the package includes a *** page update and a cover letter, which I didn’t receive.

I requested a resume to be written for me, I will admit I had a decent resume to start, and my request was not a simple request.
I paid for a resume writing, a linked in profile change, and to have my resume posted on the top 50 resume websites.

I wanted some improvements made in regards to making the resume more upload friendly for the new technology of uploading your resume into auto-populating systems and also show an emphasis on my masters degree and word my skill sets to compliment my education.
I received a resume draft that changed the font of my resume to a font and layout that took out most of my primary valuable skillsets and information. the resume would definitely not be an easy translation in an automated system. my years of time in my professional experience was removed, font changed from times new roman to century gothic (which is not easily translated on many automated systems, this results in an instant denial.) my military service was moved from my professional history and moved to my education and certifications section (4 years of my professional experience and my most important of leadership skills and professionalism are in this field). I was unsatisfied with this resume from top to bottom.

I responded with my critiques and left comments on the resume draft indicating the major issues I had. additionally I requested a new writer since I firmly felt this writer did not have the talent or capability I was searching for. He said he would forward my request to a new writer. Over a week passed and I received no follow-up. I reached out to him again, He responded and later I received a request from support stating they would not give me a new writer and to allow the writer to continue working on my resume and also to give him my critiques and comments about what changes I would like. I responded that I had already responded with my critiques and I do not feel confident in my writer, I would like a new writer. I received the exact same email from a different support representative. The response did not address any of my concerns and completely ignored my response. I responded again questioning why I was being ignored and I received another email nearly identical to the first 2. I responded explaining that clearly my issue was not being addressed and I wanted to cancel the process and receive a refund,
I was told they would not issue a full refund, but now, finally they would appoint me a new writer in place of a refund. By this time, I had no confidence that I was communicating with a company that respected their customers or the product they advertised, so I could not agree to the significantly reduced refund or the new writer with confidence.

At this time I have 1 draft (significant downgrade from my current resume). My linked in has not been touched by topresume because I do not want them making my professional profile look terrible. and the resume service to post my resume on the top 50 job searching websites. Is essentially just enrolling an email into untargeted job postings that relate little or nothing close to my skillsets that I mentioned in my professional write up. Im rather convinced that this company is not interested in their customers satisfaction or their public relations status.

Scam. They tricked me into paying $349 for a resume. They wanted a job description of a job that I would like to get. They then made me fill out a questionnaire which was basically me formulating my own resume. And I was promised that I would have a first draft within a week. After 10 days and many missed job opportunities. I still did not have any form of resume in my inbox or anyone who contacted me with questions. I asked for a cancellation and they said there was $100 fee. I have now currently send all emails to my attorney. And we will see what will happen from there. Avoid this at all cost because you will end up writing your own resume so save yourself the money.

Would rate company "0" if possible. Draft was poorly written, filled with gaps, errors, mistakes, misspellings and poor grammar. I contacted the writer via email, (as phone conversations with the writer are permitted), stating my concerns and requesting full refund. At that point all communications with the writer went dead. Next I contacted Top Resume customer service expressing my concerns. Several days later I received an email offering to Start Over or provide 30% Refund, accompanied by "Take It Or Leave It". I was floored by their unprofessionalism.
BEWARE - UNPROFESSIONAL - DECEPTIVE

Top Resume is the worst company I have ever interacted with. They promise quality of service and services provided to executives. I paid $150 for the executive service. I submitted my resume thinking they would improve it and I ended up getting a resume that was basically written by a student from high school (No offense) but was definitely not at an executive level. When I reached out to Top Resume to obtain a refund they denied multiple times. I finally got them to provide me with 30% back in refund. In addition, I paid $75 for a quick turn around and got nothing in return. I lost my time, energy and money with this company. DO NOT EVER ENGAGE IN BUSINESS WITH THEM. This company is a SCAM.

I bought the executive writing service. It was supposed to be the elite of their writing team who knew my industry. And I got cut and pastes from my own resume, a word salad of what seemed like computer generated, buzz words that were unreadable. On my second draft the writer wrote the same sentence twice and seemed unfamiliar with the industry.
I had filled out a questionnaire for them, sent previous drafts of my own resume, sent links to the jobs I would apply to Here is a sample from the top of the resume I was sent from an "expert" writer:
"Innate ability to conduct a systematic evaluation of the range of biological developments to research/propose ideal solutions. Capacity for designing, undertaking and analyzing information from controlled laboratory-based investigations, experiments, and trials. Aptitude for maintaining accurate and complete documentation as well as data entry of participant information in study databases. Articulate communicator with a strong ability to prepare and deliver multiple research reports to leadership for aiding conscious management decisions. "
If I was asked about this in an interview, I would have no idea what this meant. I really wanted to put my best impression forward and the money I spent was a lot for me, literally half of a weekly paycheck. I feel scammed and depressed.

I entered into contact with company in order to get my resume rewritten, cover letter created, linked in profile rewritten. I contacted company numerous times but never received what was promised. Resume that was written by me was just pasted into new template, cover letter was stolen from another website( comes up for free under cover letter in google search), LinkedIn was never done at all. I tried to resolve it but nobody ever contacted me. They are running a scam .

I received e-mail from Top resume yesterday and I replied right away. I asked the business what my options were( what are they offering)? I replied over 24 hours ago but never heard back. I was notified they cannot issue refund, only re-write. I agreed to it since they left me no choice but never heard back. I am not sure why this business is still operation since they scam people out of money. No refund received and no re-write received but they kept my money!

I hired TopResume to update my existing resume and add a cover letter to apply for manager and senior manager roels in data analytics. After a couple of sessions the outcome was not acceptable; resume was full of mistakes, issues with grammar, unclear phrases and confusing the reader. The business is charging premium prices for the service but the outcome is not acceptable. The updated resume can not be used to apply for any managerial role due to all the issues mentioned earlier. I tried to contact to customer service to complain but nobody got back to me.

I was also noticed that I was charged and extra $50 dollars with no explanation even though I paid $149 for resume update and $35 for cover letter.

I paid for the most expensive tier and I received a resume with major copy and paste issues that highlighted skills that had nothing to do with what I do.

I hired TopResume to write my Federal resume and cover letter. The writer took what I had on my resume that I provided and reformatted the same exact content. I requested another writer and it was the same thing. These service is a scam. Is been 5 months and I havent been contacted for any of the jobs I have applied for. I requested my money back and they never answered me back after my second review.

TopResume charged my credit card almost $300 for services and provided subpar work. They took weeks to provide any content at all, and when they did, it was a regurgitation what I already wrote. When questioned, they said that I have a minimal amount of time to review their content and ultimately stopped responding to inquiries. After calling the office number to try and get my money back and refund they blew me off, and gave me the run around. This is a continuous pattern as I see many other customers stating the exact same experience as I for this company. It is despicable. I am now in an arguement just trying to be reimbursed for my "purchase" for "services" which did not meet the advertisement.

I would not recommend them. I feel like I have been mugged. I received the free assessment and thought my CV could be improved on ways I might not be able to do myself. I paid for their services. After waiting for a week I received the first draft. I was so surprised... I thought it was really bad and I complained. Then I went on a trip and they emailed saying if I did not reply to their questions, they would close the order. I wanted to take the time to give them a detailed explanation when I was back. They ask you to give them detailed reasons for what specifically you don´t like and if you don´t reply in 3 days they tell you need to purchase extensions. So you almost have to do the work for them. They did not add anything good and they are asking me to buy an extension to continue talking to them.

Submitted a preliminary resume to TopResume.com for initial review and guidance on making improvements. Paid $150 fee to have it accurately/correctly formatted and to include "active-voice" and more robust "action" verbage to be better attractive to potential employers. Received the first draft and was literally stunned at what I had returned to me. The first "draft" was riddled with typos, misspellings, inaccurate/incorrect listings of relevant college course material related to my field of study/interest, formatting errors, and was clearly indicative no significant amount of time was spent with ensuring a quality product. When I protested vehemently toward demanding a full refund for a grossly-substandard product, I was informed my initial request for a total refund was denied, and the best they could offer me was 30% refund. According to the math, this would leave me still with more than $100 lost due to a grossly-substandard product. I am demanding (again) a full refund for the price of this shoddy "service" without any further delay or hesitation.
