I paid for the "executive" package and received a completely inadequate product. Essentially, all I received was a nicely formatted and largely fabricated resume that did not accurately reflect me as a professional or my experience. The writer, Danielle, who is supposed to be someone familiar with my industry, didn't have nary a clue as to what she was doing and returned several drafts with significant amounts of errors and omissions, not to mention throwing in a significant amount of buzz words that amounted to complete fabrication. Do not use this service. You are better off searching *** for a writer that will work with you directly and actually talk to you, instead of sending excuses and platitudes via email. The entire experience was a ripoff.

I purchased the Career Evolution package for $189. I expected to receive a professional quality resume with multiple revisions until I was a satisfied customer. The first draft of the resume was so bad that it was clear that it was written by someone who didn’t speak English and therefore included generic catch phrases that didn’t apply to me or my experience. I immediately expressed my dissatisfaction at this first draft and asked for a refund because I felt that it was so inferior to my original resume and that I would not be able to work with the writer productively. The writer did not respond for two more days and did not offer a refund or any solution besides offering another visual format for the resume; there were no other options or solutions offered to “ensure my satisfaction”. I was really surprised that they counted the days that I was waiting on the writer to respond as part of the overall 7 day window, especially given that it was multiple days each time I got a response. The entire service is a scam and this company should be help liable.

Like the other complaints I read, the product I was given didn't match what I ordered. For example, I was given a resume and curriculum vitae that were the same document and only two pages in length. A curriculum vitae is ones 'academic life' and what I received certainly was not adequate. I am paying for a service and don't want to train the reviewer on how to write a vita. I simply want my money back at this point.

I am an executive in the Adult Beverage business with a focus on the Fine Wine Category and have been for 30+ years. I have been looking for professional opportunities within my business category this year and a few of the recruiters I have been working with suggested I find a Resume writing Company that could get my CV through the "ATS" Resume filter system so that my CV could actually get in front of a hiring Manager.
With that task in mind I engaged the services of *** with the hope based on their analysis of my current resume we could create both a Cover Letter and a Resume that would be attractive. They fairly much guaranteed that with their system my chances of passing through the many filters and firewalls we are now seeing without a hitch.
Wow was I disappointed. The first draft I received was riddled with both spelling errors, syntax problems, and language that completely is not applicable to my industry. The language used seemed to be from a pre-authorized program that was filled with “buzz words” that would have made me look like a complete self-serving it. The writer didn’t seven spell my previous employer correctly.
When I brought this to the attention of “Customer Care” they promised that I would receive an answer from “Management” within 24 hours. Well 5 days later I received a poorly written response for someone within the organization who used the term “reach out” within three sentences. Amazing as when they analyzed my CV earlier they warned me about repetition.
I then received an additional note from “Customer Care” claiming that “Management” wished to resolve my issue with another rewrite or they would refund me 40 percent of my purchase of $219.00.
I’m just a simple and straight-forward businessperson who believes when you enter an agreement it should just that simple. Maybe I’m just stupid, but *** has not provided the services they claimed to afford their clients and I have since discovered that Revdex.com has had 240 complaints about this organization. Please consider me #241 with the hope that with your influence I will receive a full refund.

Note: I notified the Company early this morning on 8--2019 and afforded them a full day to respond to my request to speak with a member of “management” and they failed to do so.

I purchased a $249 package in mid-May, expecting the superior resume, cover letter, and *** profile that TopResume advertised. The resume was appallingly bad. Incorrect use of English language conventions in grammar, spelling, and punctuation; missing or extraneous words and phrases that made comprehension virtually impossible; and wrong dates and locations comprised the document. When I expressed displeasure, I was assured by the writer that she would make changes expeditiously. Days passed with no communication and her delayed second attempt produced another flawed resume. Realizing that poor command of even rudimentary English skills was the hallmark of her work, I declined to pursue a correct cover letter or a correct resume, and requested attention to my *** profile. I completed the multiple forms that were emailed to me and received back some narratives marked (unsurprisingly) by incorrect grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as being marked by incomprehensible content and wrong information. It was then I realized that no deliverable from TopResume would contain anything usable.

Hello,

TopResume promised a professional resume within 2 weeks from someone who understood the industry vertical that I work within. This is clearly not the case. The first draft took a week to complete and it was poor, basic sentence structure was missing and a wholly misunderstanding of my roles was made clear in the first draft. I spoke to someone on the phone, provided at length feedback (even though I provided substantial information from the start with references) both verbally and via email and on the call the individual I spoke to saw the clear errors. Even for a first draft it was extremely poor. Rather than me spending time making sure all details were captured I was fixing basic grammar. It is clear the resumes they create are a copy and paste of the material you provide into templates and by no means is this the work they promise to provide. It then took a week for the writer to respond, asking me to provide all the same feedback again. A week for a single response. I called again and asked for my money back. They clearly are not providing the service they promise. If you are looking for help on a very basic resume possibly for an entry role, maybe they can help you. Anything more is beyond their capabilities and understanding. You also should NOT be paying $500 for a basic resume, a person will get more help by a basic google search on resume examples and rather waiting a couple weeks for a draft, you will have the information in hand right away. This is just the resume, the cover letter is even worse and laughable. Happy to share them to anyone for them to see themselves...

As soon as you get your money they lose all interest in you. I paid $200 for what they said was for expert writers that could fix all of my resume problems. Every resume they gave me required complete rewrites. I couldn't even give them edits. They used language that I never told them to use and even LEGALLY misrepresented what I can offer. The first draft came days after they promised it would arrive and that was only after I harped on them to finally turn something in.
They are complete amateur writers. I'm almost three weeks in and am still waiting for a legitimate draft I can work with for edits. I've asked several times for a refund and they haven't even addressed that comment. I was told that I was going to be assigned a new writer but I haven't been contacted yet and I was contacted from the original writer again. They apparently do not communicate with each other. This has been a horrible and stressful experience. I really just need a refund. Nothing they've done has been on time or of remotely decent quality.

The first resume I received was the exact same as the resume I submitted. They told me in my critique that my resume needed so many changes, yet they did not provide any of those changes. The only difference was that it was now in paragraph format instead of bullet points (which made it very hard to read). None of the information they requested from me on a questioner was included. I told them I wanted to cancel the service because it is unethical and fraudulent to send me the same resume I submitted and take credit for creating it. They did not issue a refund and set me up with a new writer. The new writer made multiple grammatical and spelling errors and turned my resume into what looks like a three page essay. I requested my order be sent to management for a refund again. It was never sent and now, I'm not receiving a response to my email. Nothing they can do can undo the fact that they tried to see me the resume I originally submitted to them. They have an issue with ethics, quality control and customer service. If my resume was good enough to be sent back to me as something your company wrote, why was I told I needed to change it during the critique? I am requesting a refund for the resume and LinkdIn page. As stated before I'm fine with paying for the cover letter, but I will not be scammed!

We paid for a resume/cover letter plan with Top Resume in the beginning of June due to a "Free Resume Review" that told us our original resume needed work after running it through an ATS. The first draft was a rewording of my original resume and cover letter that I sent, with nothing added as prescribed by their own company. It had typos, incorrect information, and seemed to be a resume/cover letter copied and pasted directly from the internet or someone else's information, as it had some other people's skills included that were not mentioned by me. It was poorly formatted, and included no changes that I had requested in their customer questionnaire. After calling with my disappointment, they switched writers and offered me a free consultation which never happened. The second writer returned a draft with the same exact problems. I called customer service again multiple times and sent emails, waited two weeks before calling again to finally reach someone. They said that there were no refunds, but then transferred me to someone else, saying I could get a 30% refund. This was unacceptable to me, as there was no new writing that the writers could have possibly spent time on- it was my original resume/cover letter with nothing really changed. They said they would get back to me, and never did. Three different people at customer service told me three different things the next time I called. I decided that I would just give up and accept continuing edits with the writer. However, the writer refused to work on the documents further, so one customer service rep (Brianna again) said that she was having a manager look at a refund again and that she would get back to me. Three weeks later, I still do not have a final draft or a refund. After calling again and speaking to Brianna, she seemed to not remember our conversation, and said she would call the writer/manager to see what to do and that she would call me back in 30 minutes. Once again, she never did. It has now been two months and I still do not have a final draft. I do not want to have an alternate writer, as their company is obviously incompetent and a scam. I will accept a refund only. The process was only supposed to take a few weeks, and it has cost me money and time.

BEWARE! I signed up for the “executive” package, even paid for expedited completion and what a RIPOFF! I received ONE draft that did not reflect in any way what I do. It’s like there was a generic template somewhere and she plugged in a few key words. The writer was Robin and she could not have possibly looked at my current resume. I started editing the draft but it was so useless I left what I had done and sent back the revision with comments. This was 2 weeks ago and have not gotten any further communication of any kind. Not even automated responses to my emails. I saw a “con” for this company was long term around, thus I paid the extra $75 for expedited, I would call this more than “long term around time.”

I purchased the complete package through Top Resume indicating my resume was needed immediately. Not only did I not get the first draft in a timely manner as promised when it arrived they got my address incorrect and left off my most significant professional positions. I had to re-write my own resume in order to use it in a timely manner. The company refuses to refund my money. I did not receive posting or recruiting services. The only thing they are accurate and timely about is taking your money. A complete Facebook rip off as they certainly do not deliver what they promise.

I purchased a package that included a resume, cover letter, rush fee, and phone call with the writer. The CV I received could have been written by someone in junior high. It was incomplete, poorly written, contained grammatical errors, and did not in the least fulfill the service promised.

TopResume does not provide a product as advertised. They have writers writing resumes that have no idea about your profession or the field you are looking to go to.

The resume I received was below substandard. After the first draft I told them I was not in the least satisfied and that I wanted a refund... they wouldn't even hear my complaint. In my opinion the writer not only had no idea about my industry, they had no writing ability, terrible grammar, and a less than limited vocabulary. This company is a rip-off.

I asked for a refund several times and just kept getting vague responses.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID. The business provided me with a 50% refund, which while unsatisfactory to me, was better than nothing -- It seemed apparent to me I wasn't even communicating via email with a real person who could make decision. I believe their services are not as advertised, their policies outlined vaguely and are designed to obscure information from the customer, and their business intents are questionable at the very least.
Sincerely

I purchased a package through TopResume, which included redoing my Resume for an Account Executive position, a Cover Letter and a LinkedIn profile. I was assigned a writer that first took my original resume and basically did a copied and paste. When I got the Resume back it was sub-par, rudimentary. There were errors incorrectly copying information over “couldn’t even copy and paste correctly”, it was not pitched correctly and way below the standards of my original resume, which by the way was written by an expert as well. They mislead me into believing that my original resume was below average. They critiqued my resume via Glassdoor, where they offer to review you resume for free. This reminds me of a bait and switch tactic.

I immediately complained to TopResume asking for a refund and expected a professional answer from them, knowing that I was not satisfied with the results, this is how every business is conducted today. Like I stated before, they claim to be professionals and guaranteed the best results, I’m not getting the results promised and I know that I am not going to get my money's worth. I’ve read up about their service and saw a great number of complaints. They refused to give me a refund, I want my money back for a service not delivered.

The writer did not highlighted my best or most recent experience. The Resume was so bad I could not use it. I’ve asked for a refund twice and refused both times. I’ve wrote a personal email to the CEO of the company “Jeff B”. Still waiting a response, which honestly I’m 99.9% sure it won’t happen.

The package was to provide a resume professionally written by experts who know my industry, along like I stated before a cover letter and LinkedIn profile. The writer was to be from the top of their network. The resume received was no more than a reshuffling of words on the content written in my original resume. The reshuffling of words was so bad that in some instances, it made no sense at all. It was obvious to me from the first revision that the writer had no clue about my industry/specialization. The writer never followed up with me before the process to clarify any information in the notes provided. After the first draft was received in each instance I provided feedback. I started to notice a trend, I was basically giving the writer ideas about my resume, in other words “I was writing my own resume by dictating comments to the writer” The LinkedIn make over is joke and does not read well, It was elementary not worth the additional $75. I requested a refund for the LinkedIn portion of the package as well. The cover letter received was basic inadequate based upon the resume written.

The cover letter is copied and pasted from numerous generic websites, replacing key words somewhat relative to your job description. Most of the information on the resume is mine and belongs to me already. I paid close to $300 dollars for my own words to be reused and TopResume’s makes them out to be their own. Please help, look at the numerous complaints from different experiences and see that theirs a parallel between me and the rest of the unhappy customers.

I was sent a critique of my resume which was very thorough. Based on this I then signed up for them to redo my resume for $150 dollars. I had to send them lots of information. I sent them my resume and all details etc. I received my resume last week and it was so horrible. They did not even use my information on my existing resume. They combined positions and had wrong responsibilities. See below email.

This is by far the worst resume I have ever seen. You send a critique and then assign someone whom does not read my resume, pretty simple to do. What was done to address the critique you sent. This is misleading and I am submitting this to the Revdex.com! I want my money back immediately.

This is the worst document I have ever seen. I have no done GLOBAL product demand. I do not know what that means and assume you took a general template and did not change.

Vice President of Marketing Profile
Demonstrated success in leading marketing teams to maximize profitability and generate global product demand.

Marketing is redundant and overused. This entire paragraph means nothing - it is wordy and what does it mean. Advertising and program implementation means nothing. My paragraph before was better.
Motivated marketing executive exceling at leveraging extensive marketing leadership and strategy expertise to optimize marketing spend and achieve organizational goals. Strong track record in achieving customer and corporate success through advertising program implementation, multi-channel management, digital and social media communication, and creation of consumer-centered experiences. Seasoned marketing professional experienced in forging relationships with internal teams and high-profile partners and stakeholders, leveraging interpersonal communication and collaboration skills to achieve increased market share and optimum profit generation.

This combined two roles and has the wrong dates of the title - did you look at my existing resume. Also you lost key elements of the bullet points

Senior Director, Marketing – Demand Generation, May 2014 – Present

You do not even have the locations of my position correct which was on the resume....that was NOT READ.

What was done to address the review you sent?
How did you not review my resume?
How did you not ask questions if they were not clear?
What parts of the job reqs did you use?
WHy did you take of key components of what I accomplished?
WHy is the writing long, lengthy and redundant with meaningless fluff that does not mean anything?
How did you combine roles and put the wrong details under them?

I purchased the "Executive Priority Package" for $349.00. It calls for a resume, Linkedin profile and cover letter. The advertising for the package states, "Professionally written - By experts that know your industry.". I went back and forth with the resume writer and it was more than evident that Whitney did not know the field I am in, nor understood the field I was looking to transition to. I wrote customer service on multiple occasions and they in essence stated, "that the resume writer provided you a quality product". The product was a copy and paste of sections of the information I sent them. The resume reads awful, the Linkedin profile was not useful and the cover letter is basic at best. TopResume uses deceptive advertising by assuring you that you will be matched with a resume writer that knows your profession, critical to understanding your experiences and skills that will transition to a great resume. The resume I recieved had ZERO original content and poorly written.

In an effort to mitigate the situation I requested that TopResume match me with a resume writer that either knows my profession or the profession I am looking to transition to (as was advertised for the product I purchased) or refund my purchase. They stated they would do neither as they feel the product is good enough. It is AWFUL with no original writings on behalf of the resume writer. There was one occasion where the resume writer was providing feedback and I left for a cruise. This caused us to go past the review period and I was told by Whitney that it was OK. Whitney (the resume writer) appeared to have no idea of the profession I am currently in nor the field I am looking to transition to.

The resume is horrible. It isn't customized to each person and is just a typical, copy and paste of a generic resume. I've been rejected immediately, sometimes within hours for jobs I'm well qualified for. I've applied to at least 200 jobs and haven't been given one interview. I've sent my resume to multiple Hiring Managers to inquire and have been told by each one, I need to get a professional resume service, unfortunately I paid for one but didn't use a reputable service.

Hello,

We have been in contact with the client with Complaint ***. We had our editorial team review their document and provide feedback. There are minor changes that could be made, but overall they received a strong document. We offered to reopen the order to make the changes and they have declined.

How would you recommend we proceed? We have attached the email communication we have had with them since we first received their complaint.

I was provided a rearrangement of the current resume I submitted, as well as an 'iffy' new summary. By iffy, I mean it looks like my writer was provided a non-specific umbrella template to cover keywords, and then informed me that the method was shorthand and was acceptable. The summary does not read well in my opinion, and I was not informed as to why it reads as a list of words, and why to an ATS system, or to a human, that it would be passable as a 'great' resume.

The listed 'key accomplishments' is information that I provided as personal information during the questionnaire process. There is no rewording, grammatical editing, or anything. They are MY words, posted on to my resume.

For $349 you write your own resume, and then TopResume will take credit for work that isn't theirs. The LinkedIn make over is riddled with grammatical errors, splices, and does not read well. The cover letter is copied and pasted from numerous generic websites, replacing key words some what relative to your job description.

Emails back and forth were slow, even if responding to an email immediately after receiving one. And after everything, they will blame the problem on you, stating you requested something that they make up with no basis: "Part of expressing your dissatisfaction to us you mentioned that you required the documents to follow Switzerland resume standards".

Stay away from TopResume. Or you will be caught in the same fraud situation as everyone else.

I have recently acquired the services of TopResume (***) to make a resume and a cover letter for me. They have charged me $220 for the package.

The first draft of the resume and cover letter they have sent me is essentially a copy paste of my resume that I sent them as a reference for drafting an expert resume at their end. Unfortunately, it seems that they have just cramped all the different resume templates from the internet and sent to me.

For the price they are charging, they have not delivered the promised services and quality is absolutely below expectation.

I purchased the full package through TopResume, which included redoing my CV for Academic Dean positions, a Cover Letter and a LinkedIn profile. I was assigned a writer that first of all took much longer than what they say it would take and when I got the CV back it was sub-par. There were many errors of incorrectly copying information over, it was not pitched correctly and there were a great number of typing errors. I immediatley complained to TopResume asking for a refund as a Professional CV writing service should be professional with regards to what they deliver and I just felt that I am not going to get my money's worth. I also then read up about their service and saw the many complaints even after being reassigned to a new writer.

They refused to give me a refund, so I tried to lodge a dispute with my bank to claim the money back. I was unable to do that and it is now 6 months later and I am still trying to resolve this and try to get my money back for a service not delivered.

I After complaining they reassigned me to another writer that was hardly any better, making mistakes and doing a generally sloppy job. Neither writer highlighted my best or most recent experience. Resume was so bad I could not use it. Filed complaint to get a refund and was refused anything but a 50% refund. Appealed this and refused again. Requested call with manager and was ignored multiple times. Finally got one on the phone and they will only give 50% refund and would not let me talk to supervisor.
