Talent Worldwide Reviews (%countItem)

I was supposed to get a new resume, cover letter and LinkedIn. Instead, I got a reshuffling of what I already wrote and I was told that this was good enough. When I asked for him to do updates, he just deleted what he did and butchered my resume, expecting me to take it as is. Throughout the entire process, I have been receiving emails about complaints about what not to do as opposed to do actual work. I am just sick of it and want to not go with them.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They offered me to get a new writer. Based on what I have seen so far, I would rather make that decision myself and find a new writer of my own and not go through another cycle of resume writing. I would rather just get a refund and I have done my own research and with go with a writer whom I trust to do a better job.

I paid $219 for what I thought was going to be a professional, updated resume. That is not what I received. There were also numerous typographical errors. This was a complete rip-off and I want my money back. They are terrible about responding as well.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I reviewed the first draft of the resume and cover letter. It contained several typo's. I basically had to re-write it for them. That is not acceptable in my opinion. A "professional" should have great grammar skills and I should not have had to make all of the changes that I had too. They have offered to have someone else, with more experience, take a look at it for me but at this point I am going to decline. I have already had to spend $219 and too much time fixing typo's that a professional would not have had in the document to begin with. I would really appreciate a refund.

I paid for the Executive Priority Resume package, they promised a resume, cover letter, and Linked In Profile written by their top writers, along with a 60-day interview guarantee. Well first, they have you file out a questionnaire that will help them shape your resume to you. But it was all a lie from there. Nothing I expressed in the questionnaire was apart of my resume and my requests from that questionnaire was blatantly ignored. Second, THEY DID NOT WRITE MY RESUME!! I have been searching for jobs for over a year and got hip to how the computer processes and separates your resume data. My resume was completed the same way as a job application algorithm I have used so many times. Information was in the wrong place because of the format of my resume (all algorithms have the same problem properly placing my resume data correctly) and that was when I realized that nobody wrote my resume. It was just a computer generated generic resume. I mean the didn't even care to put my correct college on my resume. It was terrible, anybody could have written up this generic, basic, and simple resume. I was outraged. I actually got fewer interviews and less traction than my original resume. Its been months and I haven't gotten a single interview. This is just fraud of that point, you cannot say one thing and then just run my resume through an algorithim. I wanted my resume catered to me by a real person because I have different things to offer that I NEED A HUMAN PERSON to help convey, or so I thought. I called the company and asked for my money back and they refused. They offered to write another resume but it was just like the first. Generic, still missing everything I asked for in the questionnaire. Plus it has been over 6 months and I still have not gotten an interview with that resume. They are preying on young professionals that are desperate for working and willing to try and change anything to get an upper hand to strive in your professional careers, they use that fear to steal your money and just hand you whatever resume they want. This is not right, people are desperate for work and to pay to have someone do nothing is an abomination. I want my money back and I want this company out of business for lying about the services they offer.

The company emailed me to assure me that my resume was written by a "real person" but I know it was not. I responded to them and they never emailed me back again! They still have not explained why any of my request in my questionnaire was not applied to my resume. They never addressed all the mistakes on my resume. They just said it was a real person. They offered to re-write my resume but why would I do that when your company has proven not to be trusted or reliable? The company clearly doesn't care and they are not willing to rectify the situation. This is truly disappointing from a company that does minimal work and doesn't provide the services that we are paying for. This company does not care. Please consumers, be cautious and take you business else where. There is a lot of free resume help online that will trump what this company charges you $350 for.

I paid $149 to have a professional resume written.
My first writer sent me a resume with someone else’s name and misspellings and poor grammar. The resume was also very text-heavy and unprofessional.

I contacted TopResume to assign me to a new writer who also sent me a text-heavy resume with bullet points that didn’t align. Both resumes were not acceptable to submit to potential employers.

Finally, I contacted them for a full refund but they ignored my request and instead asked if I would accept another writer. I just want a refund because it’s been over a month now, and no acceptable resume!

On June *** I paid for the services of resume writing. On June *** I got a sales email asking if I wanted to pay for additional services. And finally they assigned my job to a writer. On June *** (5 days later) said writer emailed me, without giving me her name, calling me not by my name. *** STILL doesn't know my name.
So I sent an email complaining about the "service" received so far.
Finally on June *** I get my first draft, the person still doesn't even know my job or the kind of job I'm looking for. The "professional" summary is not related to my job experience or expertise and they literally copy pasted what I had answered on my initial "intake interview", the format is off, the information and dates are incorrect.

Purchased resume writing services from the company – Executive priority package. The package was to provide resume professionally written by experts who know the industry you are working in, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. The writer was to be from the top 10% of their network.

The resume received was no more than a reshuffling of words on the content written in my original resume. The reshuffling of words was so bad that in some instances, it changed the context of the meaning of the work I performed, or made no sense at all. It was obvious from the first revision that the writer had no clue on my industry/specialization. I was given a second writer and the same scenario occurred. The resume was not professionally rewritten, but more of a reshuffling of words. Neither writer followed up with me before the process to clarify any information in the notes provided. After the first draft was received in each instance I provided feedback and then was assigned another writer.

The company advised me that I was assigned another writer on 6//19 but never followed through on contract terms. This same day I requested a refund for the LinkedIn portion of the package since I did not have any working information to follow through with this portion of the contract. I called customer service and was advised I may be able to obtain $75.00 but they would have to get approval. The contract states all sales are final, but the customer service representative stated that they would work with me to rectify the writing services.

The cover letter received was basic but inadequate based upon the resume written.

On 7/*/19, I contacted the company via email regarding the status of services and partial refund. I received a response back from the company would only be able to refund me the difference of $40. They stated this is the difference between the executive package and the career evolution package. I advised the company that they initially told me they can refund $75.00. It appears unlikely that I will receive any refund or completed projected.

A representative has reached out to me and offered and refunded $75.00 of the price paid for services and offered to reopen my case and provide additional service. I have responded back to the company that I requested full refund because after going through two writers, and floating the documents received around to industry friends, it is obvious the writers do not understand my industry or resume writing. Hence, I do not believe a quality resume can be created highlighting my skills. I was referred to this company after applying for position on the Financial Women's Association website and assumed since they soliciting business on that site they are familiar with the types of positions and job levels that are typically posted and the skill set needed to write resumes for clients.
I am waiting on response for additional refund of $144.00

I purchased the executive resume writing service and was assigned a writer that was sub-par, made typos and many errors. After complaining they reassigned me to another writer that was hardly any better, making mistakes and doing a generally sloppy job. Neither writer highlighted my best or most recent experience. Resume was so bad I could not use it. Filed complaint to get a refund and was refused anything but a 50% refund. Appealed this and refused again. Requested call with manager and was ignored multiple times. Finally got one on the phone and they will only give 50% refund and would not let me talk to supervisor. Could not legitimize why I have to pay for an unusable product.

This is the worst resume service I have ever used.

I paid the highest package with the promise that the top writer will review my resume and I will have 7 business days to review two revisions. They did not deliver. Over 7 years of my career, this is the worst resume that was written. It has nothing to do with my positions, rather a marketing document with no substances or related to the job in my field that I am applying for. Basically, a repackage of what I wrote and added fillers that make it sounds more but it carries no weight. I've been told by multiple potential employers that they cannot understand what I do exactly with very little sense in the writing. When I had my previous resume, I had 1 interview in every 20 applications, now I have none after 100 applications. If you count on the millennials reading this resume, you have no credibility in saying that you have experience writing resume for this field.

The cover letter is simply a template with bullet points of achievements with no details. People commented that this is the simplest letter with the least effort they have ever seen. When I asked the writer (yes, I paid for a phone call meeting too), she said it's good the way it is. Guess what, people in my field who hire for these positions telling me that I got ripped off. So tell me, if this is your top writer, what are the other higher level of mediocracy that you have?

It's been clear on the contract that I have 7 business days for 2 revisions and I only got one. They count 7 days exactly including the weekend and the writer refusing to work in the weekend. It has been rushed from day 1. So it is false advertising for only 5 days when you promise 7 days. You charge people a ridiculous amount of money for the products that don't work, produced by unqualified people. You are a marketing company, not a resume writing company.

The service is awful, reformatted the information I provided. It was clear there was no writing involved. Instead the cover letter I received was a form letter. And the resume had no changes, except an added section that had nothing to do with my skills. Additionally I paid for a phone consultation that never occured. I followed up several times. Receive one confirmed time but receive no call. followed up to set up the time again, but received no confirmation. I contacted customer service and never heard back. The writer told me they had attempted to call, however I never received anything. They didn't confirm my phone number or the process (if I had to call in) at any point. I just want my money back

I paid $269 for a cover letter, resume and personal phone call with my "assigned writer" to get what Top Resume advertises as a "professional resume". Long story short I ended up with a resume that was plagued with grammatical errors, omission of some information I requested be added, but with the addition of random details that weren't requested. I also NEVER received the call I paid $50 for.

In hindsight, all they did was copy word by word some of the answers I provided in their "interview" section, for some reasons they decided to grabbed random stuff from my LinkedIn profile and proceeded to badly combined it with the resume I provided while adding some fluffy words in between. The result was a Frankenstein file which was not only missing critical information, but had information I did not want in there and lot's of grammatical errors (some letters and words were totally missing from sentences). When I pay $269 for a "professionally written" resume, I expect top-notch quality NOT a Frankenstein of information mash together that includes various grammatical errors.

Also that cover letter I was provided with was a standard one, there wasn't anything personalized to MY career goals on it.

After various emails of me pointing the mistakes and asking for changes and not being satisfied with the results.I gave up and asked for a refund, which I obviously did not get. I want my $269 back as I did not get what I paid for.

I had Top Resume re-write mine. Seems all was good but not one single call back from employers. I did better with my basic one. Then 3 months later I get an email from Top Resume and an offer of a free review of my resume'. So I sent the exact same one they wrote for me in for review. Yep, you guessed it. It was poorly written and insufficient. And all that for only $149 bucks. Take your chances with a communications major in school. All I got out of this was a lighter wallet. So far no talk of a refund.

Hired the organization to help me revise a resume. The organization was EXTREMELY slow and when I complained the service became slower. When I did complain a person there told me that there service level agreement was to respond to customers within 48 hours. However, after that complaint I received NO follow-up for 4 days and then had to complain again. I ended up doing most of the work on the resume as the recommended revisions from TopResume were often grammatically incorrect, did not match the experience / skills I had provided in the form of my existing out of date resume, and were overall not very good. I was switched to a different person to work with and he was no better than the first person I worked with - made suggestions without providing rationale for the changes, made changes in subsequent revisions without clearly identifying what had been changed, closed the project BEFORE I had a chance to review the last revision he sent OR finding out if I was satisfied with the changes. To reiterate, because of the poor and slow service the whole experience ended up being a total waste of time and money.

Thank you for your response. We see that a member of customer care has been in contact with you and this issue is now resolved. Please feel free to reach out to *** if you need additional assistance.

The letter below is almost identical to the letters I sent Mr. Ed O of AARP and Mr. Jeffrey B, CEO of Top Resume. Mr. B not only had the University Place address, he also had an *** address. I sent a letter to both.

I thank you in advance for taking a look at my complaint and trying to help me resolve it.

On April *** 2019, I uploaded my personal resume through *** to be reviewed by a Top Resume advisor. Top Resume is endorsed by AARP.

By April ***, I received a report from Ms. Laura M of Top Resume, critiquing my resume and offering rewriting packages to help me create the best possible resume for me. I emailed Ms. M with a few questions. After her reply, I decided to purchase the Executive Priority Resume Writing package for $249. This package consisted of a cover letter, a resume, and help with a LinkedIn account.

On May ***, I received an email advising I was matched with a writer named Jamie. I emailed him to thank him for helping me with my resume. I explained this was important to me because I was retiring in January 2020, I told him what I was interested in, and I suggested he contact me if there were any questions or if he needed anything clarified.

On May ***, Jamie emailed me the first draft of my “new and improved professional documents”, which consisted of a cover letter and a resume. Not only was I disappointed, but I was also confused. I could not figure out where Jamie was obtaining some of the information he used in the drafts.

May ***, I emailed Jamie expressing my disappointment along with a list of at least 23 errors in the documents he sent me. Errors like claiming I am a “Special Security Officer”. I am a police officer who has dedicated over 28 years to the Police Department in different capacities. Jamie also incorrectly noted my email address, he claimed I have an associate’s degree in education—not only do I not have a degree in education, I do not have a degree yet; he made grammatical errors, and he combined trainings and time frames that did not belong together.

I told Jamie I understood creating a resume for law enforcement may be a little more challenging than that of the corporate world. Once again, I suggested he contact me with any questions or any need for clarification. I offered to assist him in any way to help him create a much stronger and eye-catching resume for me.

Instead, Jamie sent me “revised documents” on May *** along with a generic letter that did not address any of the concerns I mentioned in the email I sent him two days earlier. The “revised documents” also had errors, at least 12; some were never corrected from the first draft.

Frustrated because I felt like my concerns were not being acknowledged and worried because I spent $249 I did not have to spend on this, but did anyway, I called AARP at to request a full refund. I spoke with Abraham who advised me I needed to call Top Resume at and ask to speak with a supervisor. Abraham stated I needed to explain my concerns and if Top Resume refused to give me a refund, I was to call AARP back and ask that they (AARP) create a case for me so that they would fight for the refund on my behalf.

After speaking with Abraham, I called Top Resume at the number he provided. I spoke with Briana, a customer service supervisor. I explained why I was calling and requested a full refund. She apologized for my dissatisfaction. I offered to send her copies of the emails, but she stated she could see them on her computer. Briana offered to change my writer to a more senior and more experienced one. I asked her if this person knew how to write resumes for law enforcement. Briana stated yes, and repeated that the new writer was more experienced. She also told me I would be starting over with the new writer and I would receive my first draft by Friday, May ***. I told her in the event things did not work out with new the writer either, I would be asking for a full refund. Briana stated she understood, and I would get it. I asked her to send me an email with all that we discussed, and she said she would. Briana did not keep her word about the email.

On May ***, I received an email from Top Resume advising I had been matched with a writer. It was the same generic letter I had received when I was first matched with Jamie.

On May ***, I received my first draft from Melissa, the new writer. It was sent on the same generic letter that Jamie’s first draft was sent on. Melissa’s draft also had errors, at least 20. Just to name a few of these errors, Melissa claimed I have an associate’s degree in general education, she combined time frames that did not belong together, and she stated I worked with budgeting and resource allocation which is incorrect. Once again, I was left wondering where this information was being obtained from.

Feeling defeated because Top Resume has let me down yet again and has not lived up to their claims, I called them again, but I was only able to leave a message. I also looked up their website which provided a different phone number () and the statement, “Our team is standing by, every weekday from 9am to 7pm ET”. I left a message at this number too. Oddly enough, although the website stated they were available from “9am-7pm ET”, one of the voice messages stated they were available from “9am-6pm ET” and that someone would return my call within two business hours. No one returned my call.

On May ***, I called Top Resume again. A recording stated my wait time was less than five minutes. While on hold with music playing, a new prerecorded message repeatedly came on stating that due to a very large volume of calls, my wait time was going to be more than five minutes. It suggested I press 1 to leave a message or just stay on the line for the next available representative. As I continued to hold, I called Top Resume from my cell phone as if I was going to make a purchase. I was immediately connected to Jeremy. I told Jeremy I had been on hold for some time and needed to speak with a supervisor. He said he would send an email requesting someone call me as soon as possible.

Almost four hours later, I had to call again, and I spoke with Mandy. She advised me the supervisors were unavailable. She asked if there was anything she could help me with, so I told her I wanted a refund. She stated she would submit a request for me, but I may not receive a full refund. I explained I still wanted to speak with a supervisor. Mandy stated she would submit that request for me as well.

Shortly after my conversation with Mandy, Rina, a supervisor, called me. I explained all I had experienced with Top Resume and requested a refund. Rina stated she understood my frustration and stated Melissa failed to read the emails I sent Jamie. She suggested yet another top of the line writer. I declined the offer since I had already offered to assist in any way I could, and accepted Briana’s offer of a more senior and more experienced writer, yet I still received inadequate results. Rina stated she would close my order and submit my request for a refund, but she advised me I may not receive a full refund. I reminded Rina it had been a month since I purchased the resume writing package, I had offered my assistance several times (which no one took me up on), I gave her company the benefit of the doubt when I agreed to work with a new writer who was depicted as a more senior, more experienced writer, and there were untruths on the documents by both writers. She stated I could continue working with Top Resume until I was satisfied with the product, but I asked her to what end? Top Resume has proven inept.

Rina stated I would know within 24 hours what the outcome of my refund request would be. I received an email in reference to my refund request from Mandy.

After I spoke with Rina, I called AARP and spoke with Chuck. I explained why I was calling and requested a case be created to assist me with obtaining a full refund from Top Resume, just as instructed by Abraham on May ***. Chuck stated he asked his manager about it and was told, “Unfortunately, there is no way to escalate this matter.” I asked to speak with a supervisor. Chuck stated the supervisor was going to tell me the same thing, but he said he would connect me when he received the “green light”. Then he tried to tell me about the new products AARP was offering! Could he have been anymore insulting? I told Chuck I was not interested in any other products from AARP at this time since it was a product endorsed by AARP (Top Resume) that I was calling to complain about. He stopped talking and connected me to Allison, a supervisor. Allison also told me they could not help me, but offered me a phone number and an email address to Top Resume. I explained, again, I had already spoken with them which is why I was now calling AARP. Since Allison and AARP were not helpful, we hung up.

On May ***, I received an email from Mandy from Top Resume advising that my only two choices were to either accept 70% of the $249 I paid for a package I did not receive or continue to work with incompetent writers.

AARP supposedly prides itself with assisting those of us over 50 with retirement, saving money, job searches, etc., yet they endorse a product like Top Resume, who does not live up to their claims. I checked Top Resume’s reviews and learned they have had multiple complaints including to the Revdex.com with issues very similar to mine.

Calls to Top Resume and AARP are supposedly recorded, so checking these recordings is an option I encourage you to take.

I am asking for a full refund because I did not receive what I paid for. It is clear I have been more than reasonable and more than patient. I have been waiting over a month to have a cover letter and a resume I could confidently send to potential employers. Sadly, I still cannot apply for new employment because I never received the professional cover letter, resume, and help with LinkedIn Top Resume, who are endorsed by AARP, claimed they would provide me, nor do I have the funds to pay a company who will actually keep their word.

Once again, I am respectfully requesting Top Resume and AARP do the right thing and issue me a full refund. I cannot continue to jump from one “more senior, more experienced” writer to another because Top Resume wants to hold me hostage by only offering me 70% of the fee I paid. I have already lost over a month trying to work well with Top Resume with negative results.

Good Afternoon,I am respectfully advising you that Brittney, from Top Resume, emailed me on Wednesday, June *, 2019 to apologize, advise me the company processed a full refund of $249 back to my credit card, and offered to match me with a more senior, more experienced writer to get my resume done. On Friday, June ***, I checked with American Express, which is the card I used to make the purchase, to make sure the refund was, in fact, processed. I spoke with Deepa who advised me it was.I want to thank you for your help with getting this matter resolved. All I wanted was a cover letter and resume I could confidently use as I move forward to my next chapter. Unfortunately, Top Resume failed me multiple times. This is why I requested a full refund, and now I finally have it. I will not be taking Top Resume up on their latest offer, nor will I ever use them again. I will be taking my business elsewhere instead. If there is anything else I need to do, please let me know.Respectfully,***

Where do I began.. I purchased "Career Evolution Resume Writing Package ($199") + 48 rush hour fee ($50). Their website markets, "a custom, modern resume that tells your career story," We can carefully craft your career story to target the job that you want to land" and that is why I paid $249 to get my cover letter and resume customized .

I received my first draft and I am dumbfounded. The cover letter that I received not only had grammerical errors, majority of it is simply from a template (word by word) or other people's work, which is a serious plagiarism!

The resume I received was difficult to read, as it was written in a lengthy way, has grammatical errors, and also excluded 4-5 years of my experience. I used online plagiarism checker and also found plagiarism in the resume, too. I would have NEVER paid for this service had I known that they will deliver such a low quality/fraudulent service.

False advertisement! Fraudulent!

I requested resume writing services from TopResume on May ***, 2019, and then canceled my request for services that same day, well before even being contacted by a resume writer, let alone actually receiving a written resume.

My issue lies in the fact that TopResume has not canceled my Loan through Affirm, nor did TopResume respond to my 24-hour notice to cancel email. I have not made any payments, however TopResume's lack of communication has led me to believe that they are not going to cancel my Affirm loan and will try to put me in collections, over a service I never received, and don't want to receive.

TopResume also is trying to charge me a $75 cancellation fee that is not in their Terms of service.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[TopResume is still charging me $75.00 for a service I never received, and canceled the same day I ordered, which was on Memorial Day. I canceled this request before Katie W even reached out to me about the resume, let alone before she even wrote a single word.
I do not feel as though TopResume is acting in good faith by charging me for a service I canceled that same day and before work could even be started on the resume. I never even received a resume, so I do not feel it is right to still hold me liable for $75.00. I was only absolved of $144.00]

I purchased a resume service from the company which they have failed to provide. They claim all sales are final, but they charged my credit card without providing the agreed to service; and I did not authorize them to take my money as a donation.

I bought a resume package for $250 + $50 for a phone call with the writer.

The writer that was assigned to write my resume did everything wrong. I have the phone call that was charged $50 in order to correct my resume and was useless, as she did what she want not what I requested. I wask to correct the resume and she did not correct it. There were several errors that were not corrected. I asked for a refund and got none. They offered to re-write the resume and never did it.
I called several times asking for a refund and always get the promisse that will done next day. It is going on for 2 months now.

I wasted $300.
The writer that was assigned is a mn. I also paid for a phone call and was useless. She did what she want not what I asked.
There were several errors that were not corrected. I asked for a refund and got none. They offered to re-write the resume and never did it.

Slow, they take there sweet time (9 days) attempting to write you a resume, barely made any changes, rather they deleted a rather large amount of important information in my opinion. When I inquired about this, and offered some suggestions on changes on the following day, expecting a response with an explanation I got nothing, so days later (4 days) I asked if they intended on responding! They responded the next day (day 15 now in this process) and advised me that I only had 16 days to make changes and review with them. So more or less I was out of time, as they still did not answer my questions about deletions and certain ways things were written. They simply made one of the changes I suggested and sent it back to me with a note telling me I can edit it myself! So why I am paying $350.00 for NO SERVICE? Why is there a time limit on me when they are the ones who utilized over 90% of the time to anyways and gave me no time to review, not did they offer any feedback on my suggestions or questions!

I left a review with the company, do you think I got a response to that? NO!

Don't let this company drag your valuable dollars out of your pocket for nothing, this company prays on those that are in need!
