I have a contract with Terminex, currently on its third annual renewal, for termite bait traps placed around the perimeter of my homeMy contract calls for the traps to be inspected four times a year and additional bait traps to be installed if the current traps show termite activityMy last termite inspection was conducted may 2015, ten months agoAll previous inspections were scheduled via phone by the local Terminex vendorI never realized that I did not have a local contact number for my vendorI recently received a letter from the national Terminex saying that the current bait stations were going to be updatedThe letter also stated that if I required additional information I could call my local branch, go to the Terminex web site, or call a national numberI called the number and updated some contact info and requested the local vendor contact numberThe request for a local number was refused; I was informed that the local vendor would call meI am waiting imp

We paid for Terminix coverage for years in a rowWhen we went to sell our house, the buyers' inspector found termite damageTerminix claimed it was "prior" damage and would not cover the $it cost to fixOn top of this, we called to cancel our coverage, which was about to start for the next year, because we were moving out of the house, and Terminix said yes, they would refund the full year's coverage (which we had just paid $for)Three months later, when I call to see where is the check, they claim we never called to cancel our service, so would only refund 50%When I said that was unacceptable, the manager said he would send nothing if I didn't agree to 50%This company stinks beyond beliefWhat terrible service, not to mention dishonesty

I was a long time customer of Terminix ,over yrs and felt they were fair until a couple of years agoI was constantly getting pressure to add additional servicesBy phone, mail and unscheduled service visits that ended up being a sales pitch to add services! I finally caved and added the exclusion service, mainly to get them off my backThis job cost me $and was worth about $It was sloppy and not what I had anticipated from the sales pitch I gotAlso prior to this they were showing up to do my regular spraying on off monthsI was on a quarterly/ per yr schedule and they showed up a month before they were supposed toI believe this was a guise to sell other servicesIn the early days I would get a courtesy call saying when they would come and they always left an invoice so I knew they were actually thereI also had the same service guy regularlyNONE of this occurs anymore! It's obvious they are only out to make moneyThe final straw came when again I had an unexpected visit from a servicemanIt was early in the morning so I did not answer when he knockedBut I proceeded to observe him as he started to sprayHe didn't even do the back yard and
spent about seconds doing the front and side of my houseThis was not enough timeI watched him run to his truck and take off like a bat out of hellTwo weeks later I got a $bill for this sprayI called and cancelled my service and told the service rep about this occurrence and asked that the bill be dismissedHe said he would turn over to his manager but I never received a call back from an actual personThey have now turned it over to a collection agencyI called Terminix again to try to resolve the issueThis time the answer was- it's been turned over to collections and they would no longer deal with the billAfter I told her the notice from the collection agency said I could contact the client she again said she could not dismiss the billI asked to talk to a supervisor and she said she would have someone contact me asapI'm still waitingThis company has become a TOTAL RIPOFF
I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THEIR SERVICES! I will tell everyone I know and post my experience on every site I can think of to warn other consumersTerminix is bad news! But don't take my word for it, look at the almost other negative reviews

My Terminix bill went up $with no prior notice or reason after years of my prompt payments and no claimsWhen I finally contacted Customer Service they told me that it was due to more claims in my areaI then got an estimate from another company and their policy was a percent cap on yearly increases beginning with a yearly cost lower than mine with TerminixThe only reason I did not use the other company's service was because the initial investment was over $I am on a fixed income and had just paid for other home repairs so I paid the additional $to Terminix for another year of serviceThen today, a service person showed up at my door to inspect with no advance noticeThey have made it very clear that they don't care about their customers

I would first like to begin saying that our South Tampa sales rep, was very nice and "accommodating" when we inquired for service (over a year ago)By accommodating, I mean that we were given misinformationUnfortunately, it was verbal and there was no phone or paper trail to confirm this, so the company has sided with the sales rep, and for doing so is receiving this review that I hope others will read and consider when choosing a pest control companyMy husband and I signed up for preventative termite service over a year ago on a home we bought and knew we would only be spending a couple years inThe sales rep "assured" us that we could take the termite service with us to the new home (or transfer it to the new owner of the current home)He also sold us on going ahead and renewing in advance for years in order to save a little bit of money in the long runThe ONLY reason we agreed to this is because we would be "able to take the service with us to our new home" in the upcoming year or two, which was already planned and discussed with the rep in advanceLet me ask anyone reading this...Why would we agree to paying years in advance for a service we would not be able to bring with us to the new home? Can anyone answer me that? Why would Terminix think that it is OKAY for us to still be paying for a service for the previous address that has a new owner? They've since told us we cannot transfer the service or the bait stations to the new homeSo here we stand, after paying over $6,to Terminix, unable to (A.) get out of or cancel our service with them, and (B.) unable to have the service transferred to our new home that is less than miles awayOur answer that was just given to me, was to go ahead and cancel the service (pay for the old service in full to wash it clear) and then go ahead and set up a new service for our new addressThe manager was also "sorry they would lose our business." People, for anyone looking to set up a pest control service, please do not even consider TerminixWe have since been with a smaller company that is leaps and bounds better, more attentive to detail, and works under a much higher level of customer service, and I would be happy to share that contact with anyone that is interested in a great referral in Tampa Bay

Feb '17, I contacted Terminix about clothing mothsTerminix assured me they'd be able to eradicate the problem.GuaranteedOver months later we still have mothsThousands of dollars worth of our clothing's been destroyed since the 1st visit, including irreplaceable items from parents/grandparentsEven tho techs admitted the wrong traps had been set & a branch manager admitted the techs that visited us didn't take the time to properly assess the problem, a full refund was denied, despite the guarantee from Terminix
We continued our service with Terminix until a few days ago, because each tech told us it takes time & to be patientHowever, the tech who visited us on 3-15-18, told my wife the previous techs left the wrong trapsShe was assured the problem would now be taken care ofThese new traps didn't catch a single moth

I had another person handling my account while I was illTerminix said my renewal for my termite coverage was not paid therefor it would have to be reinstatedMind you I have had this service for yearsThe technician informed me to reinstate the policy it would cost $plus the $payment missed
What a disgrace to charge a customer this type of money to take care of a technicalityI told the repI was not going to pay this and he proceeded to say "okay" and started to leave, like I just didn't matterNow after telling me nothing could be done he had a miracle occur when he called his supervisor and the bill was now $700, WOW.....I paid this money
Now forward the clock a week and I receive a bill for....you guessed it $Needless to say I was unhappy and called and spoke to a repand also wanted to make a complaint about the issueI spoke to a supervisor named Mark in the Arizona call center and he was rude and spoke down to me like I was years old! Now instead of "chilling" this out HE made it worseAnd still the billing was not straightened out
I called back and spoke to an employee named Erica #She single handedly not only took care of this but she cared about me and the situation and apologized for everyone involvedSHE is the asset this company needs because I was needless to say "ballistic" before I got her
Long story short, their system generated a bill before my credit card payment could have posted! How is that possible? How can a system be that bad? And what about people who don't realize and pay a bill times?? What kind of business practice is this?
As you can tell I will NEVER deal with Terminix just because of the way I was treated and I will be sure to tell this story to at least the people who live in my HOABy the way I am president of my HOA

Came out without confirmation and just sprayed frontEach service time gave less and less service; promised new poison for traps never did that twice; first did eves and all great, second time oh no cannot do above my head; last time did not even coordinate to have someone there just sprayed out front and leftLousy service and frankly last time not a service at all

I had my house tented by Terminix years agoThe worksheet presented to me showed the price for fumigation for drywood termites and what appeared to be a contract rider for subterranean termitesI elected to go with both on an annual contractThe representative said I had to do nothing to keep my contract in force, only pay the annual invoice when I received itI did this for yearsAnnually my home was inspected and on occasions when drywood termite activity was noticed treatment was appliedI have received multiple reports indicating the inspection and treatment was for drywood termitesThen we started seeing indications of drywood termite activity on our roof and patio and was told our patio should come down because of dryrotThen we were told our contract for drywood termites had expired due to nonpayment of invoicesChecking our Terminix account online showed an annual invoice had been sent and paid timely every yearThen we were told we had two contracts, although we only received one at contract signing, and the annual fee was for subterranean termites only so only that contract was in forceWe took Terminix's advice and tore down our patioWhat we found was the entire patio was infested with live termitesI can't imagine a reputable company that would send out annual invoice, which were not paid, and not follow up for non-paymentThen years later, after making reports indicating inspection for drywood termites during the years telling the customer they did not have coverageThe manager had an excuse, "They did it out of the goodness of their heart and I should be glad they gave me free service"No proof however why my Terminix account did not show any invoices sent and not paidThe Terminix warranty stated we would receive repairs from termites at no charge for parts and labor while the contract was in forceI wonder, did that have anything to do with a contract suddenly being invalid? Terminix did offer to do tenting and replace our patio but of course for a priceThey also said they would apply the years of annual fees we paid for an unused subterranean termite contract to reinstating our drywood termite contractI have heard nothing more but if I ever do I would have to respectfully decline as I don't believe I could every trust the company againWe have had another company inspect our home and of course he discovered termite activity in may places that Terminix either did not inspect of did not discover any activity

3/12/I called Terminx out to a rodent infestation at our duplex property on *** ***, *** ***I expained to the Terminix agent, Mr *** *** what repairs,apart from ridding us of the rodents, would entail & he quoted a cost of $to be paid up frontHe had me sign an electronic pad & took a check for $The service was never receivedWhat little work they did do was nothing to do with the problem & we had to correct that mess, at our own cost, and also to deal with the infestation, as they had promised but had failed to do on several occasions over the following weeks, to fixFinally we & our tenants in the duplex fixed the problem on our own, at our own personal costWe first complained on 3/15/16, and since then despite numerous calls & e-mails to Terminx requesting a refund, in compliance with their own company mission statemet & receiveing numerous verbal promisies from Terminix

This company in my opinion does not care about their customersI receive bills for quarterly pest control and no idea the tech ever showed upI have asked the company to have the tech get my dad (who lives 50' away) so my dogs can be locked up and so the gate to the back of my house can be unlockedThis never happens, but the bills continuedSince the last bill in Sept I haven't heard anything from this company until today when I received a letter from a debt collector stating I owed paymentI immediately called and made a payment for who knows what service, but I don't want my credit screwed up by a dollar billFind a different pest control serviceThis is just the quarterly pest control, the yearly termite inspection I pay for is a jokeSame issue, guy comes out checks of traps and leaves a note on the door he could only find trapsHad to call and have him come back out so my dad could meet him (as told originally to the company for the first inspection) so he could open the gate and lock the dogs upHe found and checked all but trap, but said all the bait stations had poison so none needed to be replaced

I have called *** numerous times and corporate office in *** been given run around and told numerous times the resolution dept would have to call me back, which they have not done I have their advertisement which states if you are dissatisfied you can cancel within days for a full refund I called and cancelled and requested they send me confirmation of my cancellation and they said they would sent Which they have not I contacted my credit card coTo resolve this also I have documented all my calls in detail They never should have charged my credit card for $974.70, the amount should have been $for the termite pkg and $for the bug spraying

On December 12, 2016, Terminix manager Amir cancelled my service agreement without knowledge to me after being rude and condescending to me regarding a complaint about lateness of the exterminator aka technician On December 10, 2016, a Terminix technician was to come to my home between 2pm-4pm for initial pest control, as per Master Agreement #: XXXX-XXXXXXX and Work Order #: XXXXXXXXXXX The technician failed to show up on time and showed up an hour late at 5PM I spoke to several people at Terminix, and lastly manager Amir I asked MrAmir for a refund of $118.67, but at no time did I request that he cancel the agreement for pest control In reviewing my e-mail dated December 12, at 11:PM, I found that MrAmir unilaterally cancelled the agreement for quarterly pest control and also charged my debit card in the amount of $ Mr

TERMINIX RECOMMEND THAT OUR KITCHEN COUNTER BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH NEW RECOMMENDED BY AWE ASKED THEM TO DO WHAT WAS RECOMMENDED BUT ALL THEY DID WAS RESEAL AND PLUG SECTIONS OF PIPEWE MADE NUMEROUS APPOINTMENTS FOR THEM TO COME AND JUSTIFY THE COST BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED UPEVEN FOR THE WORK THEY MISSED NUMEROUS APPOINTMENTWE CONTACTED JOHN C*** AND DEREK WE HAVE PHONE RECORDS OF THE MANY CALL WE MADE THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE DRY WALL AS WELL BUT ONLY SPACKLED OVER IT THEY DIDNT EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO MATCH THE PAINTBY OUR GARAGE THEY INDICATED THAT WE HAD FUNGUS AND IT HAD TO BE SEALED AND PAINTED BUT WAS NOT

When a long-time customer calls in, now mind you even though you go to your local Terminex website, ALL CALLS are routed to somewhere else The process of getting through to a telephone support professional is almost like being "booked for a crime" and then no answers or help is given
I had a very time-sensitive issue on Monday morning at a.m {I would think that bed bugs would be a priority, but evidently not" A service manager was to call me back to assist I tried to contact him on his cell phone times and each time it went to voice mail, saying "I will get back to you when I return to the office at the end of the day"

I will be taking my business and the business of many of my close business associates, friends and family elsewhere, where you can get a response within a certain period of time
I really like the website "where they give an ACTUAL ADDRESS and DIRECTIONS on how to get there" and when asking the telephone representative, he said there is no physical building that has an office there This is unacceptable and very poor business practices I can't imagine that an UPDATED rating from the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) would give them any type of good rating - last time was - a mere years ago And to add insult-to-injury, JUST READ the reviews of others - - - MOST were a "1" rating with very, very negative thoughts
Clean up your acts people It only takes negative review [oh, I don't have to worry about that as there are over + that I have read] and this is the reason that I have written this review
