Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Their lenghty letter seems to make me look like a stupid client and that they have done such a wonderful job in fulfilling their contract.  I disagree that they are "working hard for me" when I have not heard...

from them in over a month (2/23/15) when I CALLED THEM. On numerous occasions I have called and left messages with no return call. The contract says they will have contact with the members at least once a month.  I do not receive any emails or calls on a regular basis, which is one of the things I specifically asked my matchmaker to do, just to keep me informed of the progress.  Obviously, there are no men in San Antonio, Texas, that meet my wishes and desires.  When I went on the original interview, I was told to close me eyes and imagine meeting "[redacted] or [redacted]", etc., who has all these qualities and looks, good backgrounds....not one of those men materialized after I paid my fee.  Interesting.  As for a refund...I was under the impression that when you purchase services or products, you have so many days to reconsider.  I signed the agreement on Thursday, 9/25/14, even though I was not really ready.  I had asked to go home, think, reconsider and come back.  The relationship specialists pushed hard, leaving me alone, then bringing in another lady to say how they could do all these wonderful things for me, and that if I left the offer would not be the same as they were able to do right then.  I feel that I was prayed upon as an older, lonely lady like these many scams I hear about.  True, it was my fault for joining and I regret it.  Since Texas Singles is closed on weekends, I called and left a message on Monday, then again on Tuesday.  Finally, got to talk to the relationship specialist on 10/3/14..so many days had passed, but not due to my not trying.  I asked again to be let out of the program.
Well, not getting anywhere, I called American Express and explained the situation.  They put in a charge back and sent a message to Texas Singles.  Of course, then I got phone calls.  I was assigned a matchmaker who seemed nice and listened to my concerns.  On 10/21/14, a lady from client services called and basically told me that I had not hope of getting out of the contract, that I would not win any case against Texas Singles and that I needed to move forward with the program.  Felt a bit threatened, but did agree to try to give them the benefit of the doubt.  When I got the first "call", I did not meet the man since he only was interested in telling me about a lady he had met and wished he could be with her.. The next 2 meet-ups I have had did not go along with my wish/desire list that I gave Texas Singles and filled out on line.  I had put phyically fit and liking to dance, hair, financially secure, and the list goes on.  Neither gentlemen could dance, both had physical limitations to walking or exercise, one had no hair on top, one a gambler, and living in an apartment.  Really?  This is called compatible from the list I gave?  I know that it is hard to match, but the matchmakers do not even live in San Antonio more or less Texas - they are in Omaha and Oklahoma?? We are not told that when we sign up.  You are given the impression that it is all local and they are familiar with the San Antonio area.  My current matchmaker will not look at the surrounding areas of San Antonio, such a New Braunfels or Austin.
I did call American Express again to ask about options if services I paid for were disappointing and not being given as I had expected.  They put in the charge back again, but I never saw the monies on my account again.  It was not charged back to me the second time.  As far as I know, they just contacted Texas Singles again to let them know I was unhappy with the services.  Their letter to me said they were only charging back interest payments, which they were none, so this was not an issue.  But, seems to get their attention, but still no contact from Texas Singles.  That is why I have spent the time and effort to post on Revdex.com site.  I just want to know they will do something.  Like I said before, they have my money.  They do not seem to care if I meet anyone.  They could contact me if they wanted.  I was told the first gentlemen they sent would not be counted as one of the 5 matches I am allowed, since we did not meet.  Are there any quality older men in San Antonio, or is this just a rouse? I am not a terrible person, and usually not so difficult.  I think I expect more contact and at least to know they are checking things out for me rather than being left in the dark as to progress and possiblities.  Is it because I paid less than someone else that I do not get the service?  Is it too much to ask that I be called or emailed every 3 weeks or so?  I would rather have a partial refund, be let out of this mess, rather than keep wondering what if anything will ever happen.  They have not made this the "wonderful experience, finding the best relationship I have ever had..as opposed to a dating service, Texas singles wants to find my the RIGHT person, not just anyone"..etc.  I am at a loss for words.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Per my conversation with [redacted], I will be submitting a release form provided by Texas Singles at which point they will refund the $2500 charged to my card and void the agreement of June 21, 2017.  I am satisfied with this offer and would like to consider the matter resolved.

To Whom It May Concern,We wanted to acknowledge receipt of the complaint for Ms. [redacted]. We are looking into this situation and will contact you again when we have further information regarding this case.Thank you,Texas Singles

This is in response to Ms. [redacted] recent complaint regarding her program with Texas Singles.  Please be advised that we have been in contact with Ms. [redacted] to discuss her program and explain to her our process.  Also, I would like to point out that per her signed Client Obligation Form,...

clients are required to not share photos with referrals until they have met. Ms. [redacted] states in her complaint that she decided not to meet with a referral after seeing his photo. Ms. [redacted] has been a client for two months and needs to be patient and work with us through this process.  We do not guarantee success overnight and we require our clients to be willing to work with us and be realistic through the process.  It is not realistic to see success on the first referral which is why we offer multiple referrals on our programs.  She gave us seven chances for us to find her someone special and she is giving up after only receiving one referral.  Ms. [redacted] also needs to understand that our program is based on quality, we do not just send out referrals to fulfill the contract.   We focus on what the client is looking for in a mate and even though we may have someone who meets all of her preferences we need to look at the other client’s preferences as well to see if she is what they are looking for. We would like to continue to work with Ms. [redacted] and show her how this program can work for her as it has for many others.  What we are requesting of her is to work with us with a positive attitude and realistic set of expectations.

To Whom It May Concern,Our Director of Client Relations will be reaching out to Ms. [redacted] to discuss a resolution to this situation.Thank you,Texas Singles

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: It is not about being "anxious to meet someone", as I am currently dating numerous other people. It is about the lack of follow up. Texas Singles would not stop calling me prior to my investment. As soon as my money was taken, however, I never heard back from the company again. From other similar complaints, I gather this company will continue taking advantage of clients, since they can use the "she's just desperate" card.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  I do not have faith that TX Singles will reach out to me or even work to resolve this issue with me directly.  Their representatives have repeatedly failed to follow up with me numerous times after I was assured by their management official that they would.  TX Singles does not appear to even be a legitimate company based on my experience and dealings with them.  I do not want to let Revdex.com out of the picture until I am refunded my money as promised by the TX Single rep who indicated that she 100% agreed that I should be refunded.  I sincerely appreciate the help from Revdex.com and would not be in this situation had TX Singles did the right thing from the get go.  I would like to see this company investigated as to its legitimacy to operate as they have been operating!

Date: 11/11/15                                  Re: [redacted]Case #: [redacted]  To Whom It May Concern, We are in receipt of Ms. [redacted]’s rejection to our response. Yes, we had Ms. [redacted] complete information regarding what she was looking for in a partner during the interview and we discussed her past relationships. When we presented our package options to Ms. [redacted], she elected to join as a Passive Single. With all due respect, the program was explained to her and our agreement is a one-page document including clear information regarding the terms/conditions.  We simply asked Ms. [redacted] to be more flexible when it comes to height and distance for her matches when she declined meeting the first match presented to her. We feel that those who are more flexible with their preferences have a better chance of finding someone, as they have more opportunities. We only want Ms. [redacted] to be successful in finding her someone special. Our seasoned matchmakers have helped many people find great relationships. Even the greatest companies have negative reviews, because it is impossible to keep everyone happy 100% of the time. Also, people typically post reviews online when they have negative things to say about a company, rather than positive things, unfortunately. Especially in our industry, we are not selling a “product” to our clients. We are trying to help people find companions. All-in-all, our only goal is success for everyone. Nothing makes us happier. As we stated, Ms. [redacted] is not eligible for a refund, per her signed agreement. We ask that she contacts us to continue her program. We are here for her. Thank you again for your time.  Thank You,Texas Singles

To Whom It May Concern,
To Whom It May Concern,
We are in receipt of Ms. [redacted]’s complaint and we would like to point out some important information
regarding Ms. [redacted]’s program.
Please note that Ms. [redacted] joined our services less than a month ago. During her interview, we...

presented our
various package options to choose from. Rather than become a Client, Ms. [redacted] elected to become a Passive
Single. This entails that she will receive matches if and when she is compatible with the male Clients we search
for. There is a paragraph in Ms. [redacted]’s agreement which explains this and also states the following: “We
make no representations or guarantees as to when and how frequently these matches may occur; you are paying
the fee to be listed in our singles database as a potential match for our active Clients.”
Everything has been right on schedule with the program Ms. [redacted] elected to purchase. Ms. [redacted]
contacted us on 2/16 and expressed her concern for not hearing from us yet. We informed her that we were still
waiting for the results of her background check and that she had been a client for a little over a week. She seems
anxious to meet someone, which we can understand. However, if she would like for us to actively search on her
behalf, we would be happy to upgrade her program, so she can become a Client.
We have included a copy of Ms. [redacted]’s agreement which explains the Passive program and shows that the
fee she paid for our services is non-refundable. We would like to continue working with Ms. [redacted]. We ask
that she remains patient and understands the details of the program she selected. Again, if she wishes to
upgrade to a Client program, we are happy to discuss this with her.
Thank You,
Texas Singles

The website claims that the company is, "The Premier Matchmaking Service for Texas Singles" and claims to use background checks and compatibility matching for it's clients, all of whom are represented to be ‘professionals’. These services sound appealing to anyone who has had negative experiences using more common online dating websites.
I filled out my information (name, phone, email) on the Texas Singles website on March 5, 2015. I got a call from Anna the following Monday (March 9, 2015). She told me more about the background check and assured me that, with my background, they would have no problem finding matches for me. She would not, however, give me any idea of what the fees would be for their service. I agreed to meet at their office that afternoon after work to find out more.
When I arrived at the business location that afternoon, Robert S. was waiting outside for me. He escorted me up to suite 301 where the sales pitch began. He began by extracting a lot of personal information from me under the pretense of 'finding a good match' for me and, of course, the background screening/check. As the interview went on, my mouth dried out, my palms got clammy and I felt disoriented. I was in that office for almost two hours while this man yelled his pitch at me until I finally SIGNED A CONTRACT that I didn't read! I'm still not entirely sure what happened to my brain during that meeting but I know I would never have sat through that kind of sales pitch much less signed a contract like that if I were thinking clearly! After the documents were signed and my credit card payment was made, I was hurriedly escorted back downstairs all the way to the door of the building where Robert told me, "Thank you and goodbye" just before the door closed and locked.
I had, foolishly, not checked the online reviews or I would have found MANY negative comments about this deceptive and unethical business. These are some samples of those I found after it was too late:
Found on: [redacted]PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE MEETING WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
Please, people, do your homework first! If you find a business ONLINE, then check it out ONLINE before blindly going to an appointment (be especially wary when the person who calls you initially can't even tell you who you'll be meeting with or give you the phone number for the local office you'll be going to in person). I have to admit that when Nina called me this morning, she was quite a charmer...I actually had fun chatting with her while she gathered all of my personal information (likes, dislikes, income level...she even made sure to double-check that I had a credit card, and needed to bring that plus ID and checkbook to my appointment). Obviously, all this personal info was gathered to provide to the "closer" who I'd be meeting with later this week. Once they knew my hot-buttons, they'd be able to lock me into a room and prey on my poor pathetic single lifestyle, and how they were going to find me the new love of my life. Please!
I worked at a health club selling memberships (actually, HARD-SELLING them) for almost a year while putting myself through college, and this screening call smacked of the same things we were told we had to find out while taking an out-of-shape potential client through a 1-hour workout, then placing them into an office to sell them on how badly they needed to join today. We even had a 3-page section in our employee manual about how to overcome every possible objection to joining that day...because "be-backs aren't greenbacks". I was 19 and putting myself through college, paying my own rent, etc, and this job still disgusted me enough to quit as soon as I found something else (that paid even less but could cover my expenses!) and that worked around my class schedule.
These so-called adults - ie: scam artists - should be truly ashamed to go to work at a job like this every day. I'm an intelligent woman who would not have been duped into paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for a membership with a company that I haven't even researched, but I do realize and empathize with many others who either aren't as cynical, research-oriented, or they're just plain lonely enough to give it a shot and hope for the best.
This is like preying on the elderly, and it's just plain disgusting to me!
MANY businesses receive positive online feedback from happy customers who are pleased with their product, service, customer-focused business practices, etc. But when you can't find even ONE single positive comment, it's time to run for the hills.
I almost went to the scheduled appointment, just for fun since I had the free time, to screw with the salesperson and waste his or her time so they couldn't rip off the next unsuspecting "mark", but I opted instead to give Nina a ring back and laugh at her for working at such a disreputable company. Personally, I'd rather eat macaroni and cheese every night and sleep in a shelter than work for a company that has such a horrible history of ripping off unsuspecting singles by preying on their loneliness.
I hope their employees read this and take a good hard look at their lives and what they do to others in exchange for a measly buck. The owners created the scam and obviously have no ethics, but I wonder how many earnest people they've hired in the past who then looked in the mirror and didn't like what they saw looking back. SO PLEASE, ANYONE WHO'S THINKING OF GOING IN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT, DO A THOROUGH WEB SEARCH OF THIS COMPANY AHEAD OF TIME! They operate under Texas-Singles and other variations (Dallas-Singles, Houston-Singles, etc). DON'T ONLY RELY ON YELP...CHECK Revdex.com, RIPOFFREPORT.COM, and I believe there's also a class-action suit against them.
No one can accuse me of sour grapes, because I did not turn over any money to this company. Their tactics and pre-screening process were enough to raise all sorts of red flags, and after seeing what they've done to other people I only hope my warnings will save at least one person from forking over a bunch of money for nothing.”

“Got a call this morning from someone from Texas Singles and enjoyed the conversation, noticing how she was gathering my data, as much of my info as is possible, I suppose. I went to the appointment. Robert was a charmmer, however, the volume of his voice was so loud that I felt as if I was at a cattle call, buying, you guessed it, a cow! He repeated everything multiple times. I know from sales, this is a classic tactic. I was not financially prepared to commit to the opportunity. Robert was more than willing to stand behind his program and make it accessible to me, however, I really needed to commit right then. The idea that I would want to slleep on it, was not what Robert wanted to hear. I did come home and I had decided to commit to working with Texas Singles, until I came to YELP! I read reviews on other's experiences with this match making company. I really need to be alone right now.”

“I signed up with Texas Singles San Antonio in July 2013. I was 60 at the time and have been a widow for several years. In wanted to meet some gentlemen but not on the Internet. Found out about Tx Singles through an Internet search and filled in the data. They made an appointment and made promises about their clientele and how they knew I would find a match. they. Charged an enormous fee and I waited....I have had 5 "dates" in 15 months so today I went to their office to try and talk to them and get a refund. The woman I spoke to Tracy was very defensive and not at all interested in listening to me.
These people need to be put out of business. They prey on lonely, single people who are looking for companionship. I think they even pay men to make calls that never amount to a date which happened three times to me. I hope others do not get caught blind sided.”
Once I realized that I'd been taken (which started to dawn on me driving home that night), I called to try to cancel the charges on my credit cards the next morning! I was told that I would need to notify the company that I was canceling my contract, but also warned that these businesses are very good at blocking cancellations. So, I called Texas Singles. The woman who answered told me that I would need to call another number for a cancellation. I called the other number and spoke with Justin who said that my information wasn't in their system yet, but that he would call me back as soon as it was. I still haven't heard back from him!
Once I realized that I couldn't beat them at that game, I decided to go on a 'date'. I received the following email on March 17, 2015:
“You have a message from the Texas Singles staff waiting for you. For your convenience the message has been included below. You may reply via our site ([redacted]) or by replying to this email.

In all fairness, Dean was a very nice person, just not for me, and the date proved to be very informative! Dean's occupation was listed as 'Real Estate Inspector' which was not true! He explained to me that he told them that he was taking classes to become an inspector after he retires from his current job with [redacted], but he was not currently licensed as an inspector. The company chose to misrepresent his occupation! I discovered that I was the 8th (and last) of his dates with the service. None of the other women he was matched with were even remotely 'compatible' and he said he believed that he was just sent out with the next woman in his age range that walked through their door. In addition to that, he also revealed that he and his previous dates had each spent about $1500.00 on the service. Dean was a very dissatisfied client and was resigned to the fact that he had wasted his money. I didn't disclose to him the exact amount that I spent, but I did tell him that I spent considerably more than that.
My next, and hopefully final, contact with Texas Singles was the following ‘introduction’ to Guadalupe:

Upon receipt of this email, I responded to Texas Singles my need at this time to suspend my membership due to unexpected personal circumstances.
I have no expectation, at this point, of getting my money back. I foolishly signed a contract that I never should have signed! My biggest concern now is to make sure that these people don’t cause me any further damage with the information that they collected from me and that they NEVER contact me again!

Date: 6/7/17       Re: [redacted] Case #: [redacted] To Whom It May Concern, We are in receipt of Ms. [redacted]’s most recent letter. We have a few offices throughout the state. Ms. [redacted] was provided the phone number of the location where she joined on both the agreement and her client obligation form to call if she needed to contact us. As we said, [redacted] said she did call Ms. [redacted] back when she called for her and even left Ms. [redacted] a message, but did not hear back. Our client services staff has also called Ms. [redacted] on several occasions. Our Director of Client Relations left Ms. [redacted] a message yesterday, 6/6, to discuss her concerns and try to reach an amicable resolution. We ask that she returns her call as soon as possible.       Thank you, Texas Singles

LOOK OUT FOR THIS COMPANY IT’S A SCAM!!!
THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND REFUSED TO RENDER SERVICES.
I talked to Robert at the Austin branch in November. During a 45 minute interview he asks me about my arrest record. I told him I had some arrest and explained the situations. He said that there wouldn’t be any problems because I had not been convicted of the arrest. Now all the sudden there’s a problem. I’ve called all the numbers they gave me and ether they don’t answer or they almost never return my calls. The few times they did return my calls they said they would have a manager contact me back about my refund. I have yet to hear from a manager but they did say they don’t give refunds. I have gone buy the Austin office many times and at many different times of the day. The door is always always locked and no one ever comes to the door. It seems to be an office that’s been setup to con people out of their money. Here it is May 4, 2016, six months later and no one will contact me about the $6000.00 I spent. It looks like I have to spend more money on a lawsuit. According to one attorney that looked over the contract, he said this is breach of contract for no services rendered. If anyone knows of a good contract Lawyer in North Austin or Round Rock area please post in on this page. Something has to be done about this company and them conning people out of there hard earned money.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:     I have tried to return Texas Singles calls every time they have called.  I have called in the mornings, afternoons and evenings and have gotten a recording each time.  I have left messages when I call and don't hear back from them on the days I am not working.  I did reach a live person one time and was disconnected immediately when I gave my name and asked for [redacted]  I then attempted to call back all that day and never got a live person again, only the answering service.  There is no place that I can find on any of the papers that Texas Singles gave me that states I have to log in to my account once a month.  When I receive a message on Texas Singles account I immediately receive the same message on my personal email account.  I went on my Texas Singles account this morning and there are no messages in my box other than the ones I started receiving on my personal email after I filed this complaint.  They have never reached out to me one time after my November match until I filed a complaint.       I work 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts.  As I have stated I have called Texas Singles many times on the days I am not working.

I am rejecting this response because: if Texas Singles cannot be honest about their exchanges with why would I trust what they are saying? They got me to sign in by telling me they had many potential matches for me and in 15 months I have yet to meet any. Now they are telling me that it is because I am really looking for a rare gem. I wish they had told me that upfront and I would not have given them $2,000 for 5 encounters. Thank goodness I did not pay them the $10,000 initially asked for 7 introductions!

Complaint: 10638601I am rejecting this response because: I signed up for the program  on 6/2014 and I regret till this day for signing up. I should have followed my instinct on that faithful day but I ignored all the red flags in front of me probably because  i was desperate since I just broke up with my fiance few months before this. I was suspicious when they wont let me leave without signing a contract. They charge different prices for the same package in order words they charge you based on your financial staus which is why they size you up before telling you the price. When I told them I couldnt afford the price for the package which was 5 referrals I think, they asked me what can I pay and I keep telling them I dont think I can afford it and so they  kept decreasing the price until I became comfortble and then persuaded me to use my credit card since they wanted full payment and I didnt have the money at the time. They also increased the referral from 5 to 8 just to get me to sign which I finally did Unfortunately.  They promised high quality service and background check of all clients. They also took photos of me which I thought were for my potential referrals to see who they are meeting before  meeting them. When I realized the photos are not on my profile, I asked them what the photos are for that is when they explained they dont show the photos to referrals because photos could be misleading and deceitful and that they prefer you meet face to face. They told me how to set up my profile on their website which I did the same day I signed up but I never saw my profile for like a month. I tried to contact someone and the match specialist several times  via phone and email but all to no avail.  So I contacted my credit card company on 7/2014 to dispute the charge and I had a charge back. The moment they saw that that was when someone decided to call Giving me all kinds of flimsy excuses that they working on the website and they sent emails to all the clients about this which I didnt believe because I specifically left several messages for someone to call me ASAP and no one did. However they apologized and I gave them the benefit of a doubt. My credit card released the money to them because they sent paper work saying the fee is non refundable. Shortly after that I had my first referral, met withhim but he did not meet my criteria because he was talking like they paid him to meet with me so I became suspicious. Second referral we  didnt meet because he didnt meet my criteria.  They told me on the phone he has a white colar job but then when I read the profile it says cemetery guard so I called the match maker and reinforced my criteria of a match and that I will not be meeting with this referral since he did not meet my criteria.  The third referral called and was very unprofessional and disrespectful. He called me and was asking if I have a big as because he likes big as. When I refused to answer he told me he does not want to meet. I felt really disrespected and question if the company really do background as they claimed. Anyways I called the match maker and file a complaint about this and also how I have been so dissatisfied with the service and wanted a refund but they told me I cant get a refund since is non refundable.  The problem is they not providing what they promised and using the non refundable contract as a backup not to refund me my money even though they not keeping thier side of the bargain by not providing high quality service as promised. Fouth referral met my criteria but when we met he also sounded like he was also paid to meet with me. And so this was my last straw with the company. Called them again on 4/2015 that I am not interested in the program anymore and that I wanted a refund but they told me is non refundable. This is why I decided to come to Revdex.com because I dont think am being treated fairly as a consumer by this so called company. I dont want to be part of the program anyway and I request a refund even if is not the full refund partial refund is something since I did not meet all referrals on the contract. only met 2 out of 8 referrals. If they insist they wont refund me well no problem but like I said they wont use that money for any thing good in their lives. Also I want other consumers to see this review so they dont fall victims like me.
regards
Nimi George.

To Whom It May Concern,
We are in receipt of Ms. [redacted]’s complaint and would like to clarify some pertinent information.
Ms. [redacted] came into our office for an interview and decided to join our services on 9/29. Please note that, rather
than become a client, Ms. [redacted] elected to become a...

Passive Single in our program. This entails that she is to be
listed in our singles’ database to receive matches if and when she is compatible with our Regular Search Clients.
Therefore, we are unable to make any guarantees as to when and/or how frequently these matches may occur. In
addition, Passive Singles may receive introductions which are based solely on the understanding that the Passive
Single fits our Regular client's search criteria. This information is clearly explained in Ms. [redacted]’s signed
agreement.
Ms. [redacted] came up as a compatible match for a gentleman client we were searching for on 10/25. However, Ms.
[redacted] declined meeting this man. We spoke with her on 10/26 after she sent an e-mail to our staff. We reexplained
what the passive program is and how we ask Passive Singles to be flexible with their preferences. Ms.
[redacted] said she will not date a man under 5'9 and would like to date men in the Austin area only. We notified her
that this may limit her more and she said that is what she wants. She also stated that she would try to be more
patient. We have now received this complaint.
As you can see, everything is right on schedule for Ms. [redacted], according to the program she purchased. We would
like nothing more than to continue working with Ms. [redacted]. We just ask that she understands the details of the
Passive Single program.
In addition to the information we mentioned regarding what the Passive Single program entails, Ms. [redacted]’s
agreement also states that the fee she paid for our program is non-refundable. Therefore, she will not be eligible
for a refund (we have included a copy of her agreement).
We hope that Ms. [redacted] has a change of heart about our services and decides to continue her program.

Thank You,
Texas Singles
