I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaintFor your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Mr*** failed to address any of the concerns I submittedIt appears that he utilized some sort of copy and paste blanket response that is probably used for the multiple complaints he responds toThis continues to be further evidence of the lack of customer service continually exhibited by The College NetworkIn addition to Mr***'s cookie cutter response, I attempted to contact him on the evening of 8/11/as the "customer service" department provided his name as the "customer relations" departmentUnfortunately, I have yet to receive a call back from the message I left him business days agoHe did indicate in his letter response to contact him if he could be any further assistance but it appears that is just for show and not a request he chooses to follow through onTo make this simple, I will highlight point by point Mr***’s response in relation to my concernsThe College Network, Inc(“TCN”) is an educational services and eLearning company which provides study material and support to help its customers pass college equivalency examinationsTCN has assisted many customers in obtaining their degrees at the Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s level- This response does not correlate with any concerns submitted but thanks for the descriptionTCN had a 5-Day Cancellation Policy*** *** did not contact TCN within five business days to cancel her contract

- Inaccurate and also not relevant to the concernsPlease check your information and correctI signed the contract on 6/29/for the Indiana State Bachelor’s degree program and later changed the program

- What does this have to do with anything? But since you mention customer service, they are unable to resolve concerns and it seems that their responses are limited to very specific issues that do not directly relate to my needs and are unable to provide contact information for any college network associates that can resolve real concerns hence my having to google Gary Eyler’s contact information

- This is a strange statementI am not sure how you can “hope” to help me obtain my drean when none of my concerns are addressed

Now I will add my concerns again with the hopes of getting an individualized plan of resolutionI am requesting a refund for the all aspects of the program with the exception of the modules and exams I have already takenI am still due a refund for the health safety module as promised previously due to the resource center being unavailableThe I agree to allow TCN to keep payment for the modules I used as well as the exams I have taken and passedI am entitled a refund for the remainder and cancellation of my account without any negative marks on my credit because I am not being provided the product/service I purchasedI am sure “as a good corporate citizen” TCN will be willing to grant my request as has been done with many previous customers that participated in this scam and had to file complaints with their state attorney general because TCN was not willing to resolve their concerns internally
Restatement of concerns:
The college network is a scamIt is the worst financial investment I have ever madeI have had problems with every aspect of the program from the start
The cost of the program is not equivalent with the materials providedI can purchase textbooks from amazon or Excelsior College for much less and they will have content that actually will have correct and relevant information that will assist me in passing the examsTCN’s modules are not usable as they do not correlate with exam contentI have consistently used other reference material to prepare for my exams as you can clearly see by reviewing my resource center usageI have also had to print the exam content guides from Excelsior and their practice exams because TCN’s “study material” does not correlate
The exam fee checks do not arrive in a timely mannerI am not always able to access the modules needed for testingI have also recently been told that it can take up to weeks to receive an exam fee check once requestedThat was not disclosed to me when I pushed to sign up and it is unrealisticI am also not able to request multiple exam fee checks because you must take and pass one exam before getting another checkI have paid for those exams through financingThey should be readily available for me when I am ready to take the testIf you advertise to people that they can work at their own pace and then when you are ready, you need to follow through on thatThis is advertisement
Customer service does not have convenient hours for working students which is ironic because they market to the working populationYou market to working people with familiesHaving no weekend availability restricts customers’ ability to resolve concerns when they have time to study
They report you as making your payments late to the credit bureau when they are the ones that automatically deduct your paymentsI had to file a dispute with credit bureaus to get that deleted because the college network would not correct their mistake at my requestMy payments were reported late timesYou are the ones that set up my auto pay through my bank account
When they sell you the program, they fail to disclose that they are NOT affiliated with Excelsior College which is where you get your credits for the LPN to RN degreeThey also fail to inform you that you can complete all of the exams through Excelsior College without their programs and outrageous fees and inconveniencesI was told that TCN was the only way to complete by RN degree without having to sit in the traditional classroomThis company is a scam and that was a lie to get my business
They are targeting people who want to further their careers but cannot attend traditional schoolGenerally middles class working families that struggle to live paycheck to paycheckIt is terribly unfortunate that this company has been allowed to continue to rip people off
I have expressed my concerns several times and am often met with attitude and resistance when speaking with customer serviceGenerally, they have people answering the phone who don't have the ability to resolve issues or feel any empathy for the wrongdoings of the company
The last issue I experienced required me to research who the CEO is and find his office phone number and contact his office because the staff at the college network refused to provide a reasonable resolution or provide me with contact information for someone who couldThey also choose to ignore communications on their Facebook page unless they are positive remarks
I was offered a refund for the health safety module that I was not able to access prior to an examI was told the refund would be for $I actually paid $for that module and when I called to question this, I got stuck with a very rude person that had no way to answer my questionShe said she would forward my concern onI haven’t gotten a call back for that
There are also some very concerning contractual issues I have come across and am in the process of investigatingThere are some terribly sketchy business practices going on with this companyI believe this is something that the State of Illinois Attorney General needs to be aware of in order to protect consumers just as New York and Indiana have taken steps to protect their consumers
I do hope that simplifying my concerns has made them clear and that you are able to better understand the situation and provide the requested resolution

I signed on with The College Network to take my pre-requisites in order to apply to the BSN program with *** *** *** I was told that once I finished my pre-requisites I could apply to *** and be guaranteed admissionIt turns out that I can apply but there is no guarantee of admissionWhen I started the first of the two classes ( Chemistry) with The College Network, I struggled a lotI was told that it wouldn't take me any longer than weeks to complete the class which is not the case I even hired a tutor who is an actual teacher of the subject (Chemistry) to help me with the class who confirmed that the formatting, and instruction of the subject is not consistent with how the subject is supposed to be taughtI have asked The College Network repeatedly to withdraw from the remaining class (a psychology class) to no availI was willing to pay for the class I attempted but wanted to be released from the class I have not even started yetThat is all I want, that i

I have been paying for classes for couple years nowThe agreement was that when it was time to test they would send the money in check form to pay for testing because the fees were built into my loanI have been requesting a check to pay for testing and was told all financials were on hold and it would be up to weeksWell that was in June., I am still waiting for the moneyEvery time I call I am being told it should be sent soon, yet I have never received anythingWorst experience everI am a single mom who is paying for a school that is not holding up there end of the bargainAlso, I spoke to Excelsior College and they are telling me that they are in no way affiliated with The College Network

I enrolled with college network June for LPN to BSN program with the *** *** ***At the time of my enrollment, I did not have my transcript from my previous collegesI was enrolled into classes that aas soon as I was able to present my transcripts to *** *** *** and they get approved, the classes that was added to my College network account will be removed and I would only pay fpr the classes I needI sent my Transcripts to the *** *** *** and they were approvedHowever, College Network had already sent my account the their lenders for no payments on my account an damaged my creditI called College Network and complained about this and they told me they were going to remove the classes I don"t need but will still have to pay $7,to the lenders for the one class I will need for the program

getting a check is a hassleI am now currently enrolled in a college base programI was trying to refund the remaining test exam fees that I fully paid and financed on my sign upMy recruiter at the time said if at any time I want to cash out the checks I can do soIn when I contemplated on going back to a college base program the customer service said I can not get the refund until I finish paying of my financingNow I called TCN customer rep stated to me they no longer refund checks regardless if the financing is fully paidThose are checks I paid in advance that I did not use and the recruiter told me I can refund or ask for any unused test exam fees at anytimePlease help I can use that money to pay for my tuition

I was conned into signing up to the college network in I was never able to complete even one course due to lack of available testing offeredI contacted them multiple times explaining that advertising on their part led me to sign up They guaranteed a spot with excelsior college in the actual nursing classesAfter contacting excelsior college I was informed that there is a chance for their program but they take in state students and actual enrollees first I was informed that it would be at least a year wait list for their programAgain I contacted college network amd they stated there was nothing to be done since the loan was through *** *** I called *** *** to ask for a buy back with the college network or a loan dismissal due to the above mentioned reasons I was offered a defer one payment and nothing elseI have been harassed by *** *** as well as the collection company owned by the college networkI explained that I was

When this online education was pitched to me, little did I know it was a big scamThis company is only a publishing companyI signed up for the LVN to BSN program through *** *** UniversityI did not know of this scam until Decwhen I received and IRS letter concerning school expensesI was in extreme shock and started to read reviews of others in my same situationMy monthly payment to the school drafts out of my bank accountI was mislead by the Academic Advisor and need help to put this company to a stopThey are stealing money from hard working citizensBecause of this, I am having to put pursuing my career to obtain my BSN on holdIt really is disappointing that they are still in service and scamming others
