The Student Loan Project

Review: I was researching School Loan Debt Forgiveness online and came across this website. I entered my email as contact information. I was shortly reached via email by someone named [redacted] from The Student Loan Project. He sent me an additional web link that led to a separate website. He sent this link to me approximately 3 times. 1st time the link expired, I was not informed that it had to be completed with in 24 hours. the next 2 times the link did not work the 4th time the link took me to the website where I was to enter my personal information such as my SSN. as we all know these days it is very important to protect your private info. I asked [redacted] via email if it was necessary to enter my ssn. He responded by sending me the same link again. I asked him the same question again this time with a breakdown of all of my student loan debt after all it was explained to me that the form was being used to determine what I owe. I already know what I owe so I sent him the info directly avoiding furnishing my SSN. and this is the response I received. Me:" [redacted] the link works just fine. I just don't feel comfortable entering my SSN. So I sent you the requested info so that I do not use my ssn. thank you for you assistance do you have to have my ssn?" [redacted]: "I will no longer waste my time to help you. If you want to enter you info to a DOE database then no one can help you. I recommend calling your lender to have them consolidate for you. Have a good day". Me: "Your email confirms my distrust and hesitation. Any reputable company/program/or association would not have responded with such arrogance and with a blatant display of a lack of professionalism. Your behavior reeks of SCAM!. I will now have to report your site for fear that some other poor student will be taken advantage. Good day". [redacted]:You are being inconsiderate of my time and the others I help, If you would like to do your research prior to asking for financial help without giving financial info go to the DOEDesired Settlement: 1.) I would like this company to provide financial assistance to students without them having to give there personal information immediately upfront. For instance if a person can provide all of their student loan info, the student loan project should be able to give info on if they can or cannot provide assistance.

2.) No money should be collected until services are received. I would like [redacted] to be fired and a letter of apology sent.

3.) They advertise as a Loan Forgivness Company. Its seems as if they are more of a loan Consolidation Company. I would like there business practices to be more apparent.
