Response:

We are terribly sorry that this individual was unable to reach us. Our system shows our first contact from this individual as arriving to us on January [redacted] and we replied to them the same day. They were able to finalize their shipping information on January [redacted]. Our tracking information shows that their package was delivered on January [redacted], the same day that they filed this complaint.Hopefully, this complaint was filed early in the day, prior to delivery. We have reached out to the individual to confirm that they have received their thingCHARGERs and to follow up with them on this issue. If they have not, we would be happy to locate their package and ensure that they receive it.

Review: On October **, 2015 I ordered a ThingCHARGER and it is now Nov ** and I have not received it.. I have called them twice and each time have gotten a recording. I have emailed them twice and had no reply.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the product I ordered or have $47.85 (the cost of the item and shipping) returned to me.

crowdfunding campaign and what our shipping schedule looked like. The

individual accepted a FREE upgrade as a

thank you for waiting until we get this shipped out. We are mystified as to why this complaint was filed. thingCHARGER

is still a crowdfunding campaign and we are proud to say we began shipping our

beautiful product in September and continue to ship as quickly as we can.We are trying to ship in the order that we received your

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I ordered the Thingcharger on the [redacted] of October. That was the first time they heard from me. When I had not heard anything from them in approximately two weeks, I emailed them and got no response. I then called them and got a message that I could best reach them by email. I tried emailing them again and received no response. I called again and got the same message, that it was best to contact them by email. As I thought about it I decided that four times of trying to contact them was enough. I had ordered the thingcharger in October as a Christmas present and it was unacceptable that after 4 attempted contacts they had not responded and I had no idea about whether I would receive the item in time for Christmas. I then filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. The following day I heard back from the company for the first time. They told me that they were crowd funded and swamped with unexpected orders and that I would not receive the object until February. None of this was on their commercials or on their website so I had no idea of this until after I filed the complaint. I agreed to accept an upgrade and receive the object in February. After seeing their statement that I did not contact them until Dec I am no longer willing to give any of my money to this company. I will accept my order being cancelled but nothing less.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Business

Response:

At the time of this complaint thingCHARGER was still a crowdfunding campaign. We apologized for the misinformation and offered the individual an incentive to stick with us. We love to keep our supporters updated on our progress, so our team does Live Weekly Updates every Friday at 1 pm (EST). Our records indicate the first email from the email address on file as the [redacted] of December 2015. We responded within 3 hours and considered the complaint amicably resolved on the [redacted] of December 2015.

Review: I ordered 5 of these products at the end of November. My credit card was charged and the items were never delivered. Emails and phone calls to the company have not been responded to.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to refund my money

Business

Response:

At the time of this complaint thingCHARGER was a crowdfunding campaign. We find it unfortunate when there is a misunderstanding about our crowdfunding status, and our Contributor Care team offered a free upgrade for the confusion. The individual has asked for a refund and we have processed one for them.

We are truly mystified as to why this complaint was filed. We have emailed the individual several times and explained our status as a crowdfunding campaign. At the time of this complaint thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign and we are proud to say we began shipping our beautiful product in September and continue to ship as quickly as we can.It seems that the individual did not realize this and we apologize for the confusion. Sincerely,

They most certainly do not make it clear about fundraising. I ordered beginning of Jan. When my 4 chargers did not show up within 2 weeks I emailed them, they said 10-15 business days, waited a week, emailed again. Gave methespeelabot fundraising and I would receive my order in June. Emailed them back, told them not acceptable. Got an email with the big talk about how they wanted to help and would expedite my order. Sent me a link to [redacted] and to arrive through the [redacted]. Called post office on the it was saying delivered. Post office informs me it was delivered, only catch not to my address. I had given them my address 3 times! Emailed again, now they will not respond. By the way the money was taken out 5 seconds after I ordered.

I ordered three of these on November * 2015 for $127.65. The information indicating that this was crowdfunding was almost hidden, way at the bottom of the page in a tiny font. The site is designed to look like typical e-commerce. After not receiving the chargers I contacted them. They explained that this is a crowdfunded project and the chargers will be shipped after the New Year. Visiting the site today, I'm finding no update or contact info. Same on their Facebook page.

Review: I ordered $200.00 worth of Thingchargers in November, 2015. I have received none and no offer of a refund. Total loss with shipping paid for is $207.45. I want my money back!Desired Settlement: At this point, I do not feel confident that the company intends to fulfill my order, so I want an immediate refund!

Business

Response:

This individual contacted us seeking information on their package in December. At that point we explained our crowdfunding status and tried to make them comfortable with waiting until the new year to receive their package. They did not reply to that message otherwise, so we moved forward. On February *, the same day that they contacted the Revdex.com, they contacted us . At that time we asked them to confirm their shipping information, however they were not comfortable with that process and asked for an immediate refund. We have emailed them confirming that we have processed a refund of their full contribution, and those funds will be returned to their account by their credit card company. We are very sorry that we were unable to assist this individual in feeling comfortable with our shipping confirmation process. However, we are happy to issue them a refund and hope that this resolves their concerns.

Review: Like others, I feel deceived. I ordered a Thingcharger over 30 days ago and haven't received my order. After my credit card was billed, I checked other sites and learned the product is crowd funded. This was not made clear on the site when I ordered.Desired Settlement: I wish to have the order cancelled and $47.85 credited back to my credit card.

Business

Response:

Currently thingCHARGER is a crowdfunding campaign which is why our process may feel a bit different. It is very common for there to be a gap between when your card is charged and when your perk package arrives. Perk packages are the the thank you gift that you selected during the initial transaction, for this crowdfunding campaign you receive thingCHARGERs. When your thingCHARGERs are ready to be shipped we send an email to re-confirm your shipping address and make adjustments to your package. Our records show that we have emailed you to complete this process on the [redacted] of December, but the email has not been opened. Please contact us at [redacted] and we will make sure you get the link you need to get this package on it’s way to you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:In my complaint, I noted a failure to send product within 30 days and requested a refund. The company response failed to specifically address my request for a refund. The original order contains my mailing address and contact information. I am of interested in responding to thier request to confirm shipping information. They have the correct information to refund my purchase. They need to address my request directly.

Response:

We are very sorry that our initial response was not satisfactory. We wanted to offer an explanation of our crowdfunding process and offer to fulfill our commitment to getting this individual the thingCHARGER that they had initially requested. We apologize for not understanding that their goal was an immediate refund. It looks like they completed the final checkout process and requested shipment of their package on January [redacted]. Like most companies, we cannot issue a refund after a package has shipped, but we would be happy to assist the individual with a return. It appears that their package has been delivered today, January [redacted], and we have emailed the individual to determine if they would prefer to keep their thingCHARGER or if they would like our assistance with a return. We look forward to hearing back from this individual and will continue to work with them until they are satisfied with the result, either keeping their thingCHARGER, or a return and refund.

Review: The nature of my complaint covers a multitude of issues: product, advertising, customer service, sales and delivery. From the very start of the [redacted] video, "[redacted]" I was hooked. Thinking while watching, I wish I had thought of this. Great idea, what a wonderful product. Sold!!!! I purchased In the Box: Four thingCHARGERs in total; three thingCHARGERs, each with two tips included to cover ALL modern devices. Each thingCHARGER pre-packaged with a Micro USB tip. PLUS an extra thingCHARGER FREE.

I paid the full amount including shipping on October **, 2015. I received an email after purchase was made with an order number but without a shipment date. I also received an email from [redacted] thanking me for my business and guaranteeing my purchase.

Since that day I've sent emails and left voice mail messages in spite of the recorded message which discourages you from leaving a message. After several failed attempts to reach a live person or to receive a return email from an employee at thingCHARGER. Now my hands are tied and I've forced to submit a formal complaint with Revdex.com. I believe that I was misled into believing that I would've received my purchased product by now. As of this date, I have not received any form of correspondence from thingCHARGER.Desired Settlement: I would like a FULL refund since I've not received my products.

Business

Response:

First we would like to thank this individual for their support of our campaign. thingCHARGER is currently a crowdfunding campaign that has started shipping. Crowdfunding allows an inventors, such as Seymour and his wife Amy, to bring their invention to market through the help of amazing supporters.Supporters are able to contribute to our project and once the product is made we will send every supporter the thingCHARGERs they selected. Many people love knowing that the money they personally supply will fund their very own thingCHARGER :) Without that funding up front, we would be unable to pay our manufacturer (and so many other things as well!) to create these for us. So, we truly thank you for being part of that support. Wikipedia has some helpful history on crowdfunding, as well. Here is the link if you are interested in that:[redacted]We apologize if there was any misunderstanding. Please know that we are very grateful for your support, and we are working hard to deliver a safe and high quality product we can all be proud of.For all the latest on product development and other updates, feel free to visit

[redacted] and see our latest update.

Review: I order 3 thingCHARGERs on line last year, October **, 2015 and paid $119.70 plus $7.95 shipping - $127.65 and have not received anything.Desired Settlement: Delivery of product

Business

Response:

We are so sorry that this individual wasn't aware of our crowdfunding status. With crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money to a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the amazing people who supported us. Because crowdfunding uses the funds collected from our contributors to create, manufacture, and ship our products to our supporters, there is often a delay between the receipt of funds and the shipment of packages. We try to make our crowdfunding status clear and it is both listed and referenced in a variety of places in our videos and on our website, but we are very sorry that, in this case, that was missed. Unfortunately, this individual did not contact us prior to reaching out to the Revdex.com, so we were unable to assist them before this. However, we are grateful that we are now aware of the issue and have emailed them directly to try to resolve the issue to their satisfaction. We encourage this individual, or anyone who is concerned about their perk package, to contact us directly at [email protected]. We will continue to follow up with this individual until this issue is resolved to their satisfaction.

Review: I supported this start-up company in June. I made a contribution and in return I would receive several thingChargers (supposedly before Christmas). I have been told repeatedly about their inability to fulfill all their contributors' orders as quickly as they would like. Reasons have included that they can't keep up with production or shipping. I have finally received an e-mail to confirm my order. Now I learn that I must purchase an additional adapter for my older model iPhone and iPad. Furthermore, I recently learned that this product is available at some Sam's Clubs (as a test market), [redacted], and [redacted]. Something just doesn't seem right. One would think they would fulfill the orders received from their contributors before offering them at retail stores and on [redacted].Desired Settlement: Delivery of item. If the company cannot keep up with production to fulfill all prior orders, then they should fulfill orders of contributors before offering at retail stores.

Business

Response:

At the time of this complaint thingCHARGER was a crowdfunding campaign. We started shipping in September of 2015 and continue to ship as fast as we can. Our records indicate that the thingCHARGERs have been delivered to the individual. The [redacted] sales were part of a market test that was made possible through a special donation. While for a large market distribution they were limited in quantity, their production allowed us to order from production in larger amounts that actually enabled us to produce thingCHARGERs more quickly and ship to our contributor’s sooner. It's counter-intuitive, but ordering more items means using a larger factory and allows us to get more thingCHARGERs, faster. With regard to the 30 Pin Tip and charges for it, we were excited to be able to offer the 30 Pin tip. Having it allows us to offer charging capability for older devices. It isn't included free of charge because most often it is not needed by our supporters. Because it is needed in much smaller quantities, producing it is much more expensive. In order to off-set those costs, we are sad to say that we do have to charge a fee. We don't typically mention this in advance because for most of our supporters it isn't necessary. They simply don't need the 30 Pin tip and offering them information on it wastes their time. When we are asked we try to make the fees for additional tips clear. I am very sorry that wasn't done here. We are sorry to say that we do not yet know exactly where these units were acquired, and who placed them on [redacted] or [redacted]. We have fulfilled a good number of contributors from earlier in our campaign, and it is possible that someone decided to attempt to resell theirs.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Although I have received my product, the business continues to only respond to some of my questions and concerns. They have addressed my questions about [redacted] and [redacted], but have repeatedly not explained availability of this item at [redacted] before completing distribution to original supporters. Also, they have failed to explain why they gave us inaccurate information, i.e. your items will be shipped before Christmas. Finally, their response to not notifying original supporters that there would be an additional charge for adapters for older models of iPhones is unsatisfactory. If they don't want to bother people with this information in advance (because supposedly so few people needed the adapters), then why is it ok for them to provide periodic [redacted] updates that could run for 20 minutes. To me, this is a bigger bother and poor use of my time (having to watch a lengthy video to get simple updates, even implying some supporters were responsible for some of the delays).I can provide supporting documentation if requested. Thank you.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Business

Response:

We are so sorry for the misunderstanding. [redacted] and [redacted] are a singluar corporate entity. When we allowed a market test with Sam's Club, they were permitted place those items in either [redacted] or Sam's Club. While the stores have different names, they are not separate. We were unaware that this individual was not aware of this and thought that we had adequately answered their concerns regarding [redacted] when we explained the market test for Sam's Club. We are sorry that this was unclear. While we attempted to ship to all of our supporters prior to Christmas, and early in the fall anticipated being able to do so, we truly were faced with insuffient production and delays in shipping. As a small, new company we do not have the same resources to motivate our suppliers that a large multinational might have. We have worked incredibly hard to smooth out that process and add to our production and available units, but were unable to ship to everyone prior to the holiday. We are sorry that this individual did not receive this information, though it was avialable in our weekly updates leading up to the holiday. We are a young company and we are continuing to improve our tracking for contributors who are frustrated or impatient with the crowdfunding process to try to offer them more information and support. Sometimes there are processes that we are just beginning to start up and in this case, we were not aware until after the holiday that this individual was both frustrated and not following our progress on the weekly hangouts. We are sorry and we continue to work to improve this.We are also sorry that this individual was not fully aware of what tips were included in their perk package when they initially contributed. While the tips that are included with the package are clearly listed on the website where they contributed, we are sorry that it was not transparent enough. Like most companies, we do not spend a great deal of time telling our supporters what they are NOT receiving and instead simply list what IS included in their package. We were very happy to offer this individual the opportunity to get the additional tip that they required, but are truly sorry that they were frustrated. This individual has received their perk package and we continue to hope to fully address their concerns. We would sincerely like to know what we can do at this time to resolve the questions that are upsetting them and reach a satisfactory resolution to their complaint.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am frustrated that thingCHARGER continues to put blame on the contributor for what he or she didn't do or didn't understand. Whether it wasn't watching the weekly updates to be informed of the status of the product or not understanding what was included with the thingCHARGER or what additional charges the contributor might incur, somehow it was always the contributor's fault or responsibility. That said, the following list details what I would like done to rectify the situation and make things better with me: 1) Receipt of the second tip for all 4 thingCHARGERs purchased. 2) Return of both 30-tip adapters and replacement with 2 appropriate tips for my iPhone 5s. I was incorrect in thinking I had an iPhone 4. I apologize for that error. It was labeled incorrectly in my settings. 3) Either a reasonable explanation of the additional $6.95 charge or credit of that amount to my credit card. The figures in my receipt do not add up. Please see attached receipt. The receipt that was sent to me recently from thingCHARGER WAS incorrect. 4) A credit of $25.90 for 30-tip adapters purchased which were offered for free when I activated my thingCHARGERS on-line. 5) Shorten weekly tube updates to make more customer friendly and e-mail links for weekly updates to contributors. Don't expect contributors to remember to check for these updates week after week.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: On August **, 2015 I placed order on their website for item #[redacted] / thingCHARGER choose 3 get one free. I received a receipt for my [redacted] payment of $127.65. Since placing this order I have not received any product or communication from the company.Desired Settlement: If they can't deliver the order by end of January I would like a refund.

Response:

We would like to thank this individual for reaching out to us here at the Revdex.com so that we can assist them with this issue. We are also available at [redacted] at any time to answer questions or assist supporters with any concerns. We are very sorry for the confusion. With crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money toward a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the amazing people who supported us. Because crowdfunding uses the funds provided by our contributors to create, manufacture, and ship our products to our supporters, there is often a delay between the receipt of funds and the shipment of packages. At the request of our early supporters, we have chosen not to send out mass emails about our progress. Instead, we offer a weekly live hangout where we tell ou supporters about what we have going on and show our progress with production and shipping. Those can be found at [redacted].We have reached out to this individual via email to explain and to attempt to resolve this issue to their satisfaction. We look forward to hearing back from them and will continue to follow up until they are satisfied.

Review: I placed an order thru a thingCHARGER web advertisement on Facebook for their device charger shown in great detail thru pictures etc of their product, which at no time in this advertisement did it appear to be for a "kickstarter" type campaign where you are paying money for an item to be developed and manufactured and delivered at some future date. They had several sales "deals" to buy a certain number of the device chargers, to then get a certain number of the chargers for free. I made my order on 10/**/15 purchasing (5) five chargers, getting (2) two free chargers for (7) seven total chargers for the price of $199.50. I received an email Order Confirmation #[redacted] indicating the items ordered + a shipping fee of $7.95 for a total of $207.45, which I paid by credit card. So far I have not received said chargers. I see from other complaints on the Revdex.com website, several people made orders and did not receive their items and that apparently this business does NOT actually have these items for sale.Desired Settlement: I would like my $207.45 refunded. I would also like to see that this company stops advertising a product they do not have available for sale.

Business

Response:

At the time of this writing thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign. The wonderful part of crowdfunding is that supporters will be able to help fund the creation of the product that an inventor has created. People like [redacted], who invented thingCHARGER in their basement, ask for help bringing them to market. Supporters are then able to contribute to our project and once the product is made we will send you the thingCHARGERs you selected as a thank-you for your gracious support. By supporting our campaign, supporters are getting special deals on thingCHARGERs.

Review: Apparently, I, like others, have been deceived. I made a purchase and the item never showed up. Once I looked into the company that makes the charger, I realized several complaints have been logged with the Revdex.com. I tried calling the company but got a recorded message saying to email them instead. I am very susceptible to purchasing "problem solving" items, however, never expected to be cheated. The infomercial was very professionally done and I didn't suspect fraud. And I consider myself "educated" and this experience makes me question myself. I even added the Norton Shopping Guarantee to the online purchase but also didn't realize that expires after 30 days.Desired Settlement: I just want my credit card refunded fully.

Business

Response:

We are happy to get this out the individual right away and have send them a link where they can double check that they are getting everything they need and re-confirm the shipping address. I would like to explain about our crowdfunding status and why things feel a bit "different" with our shipping timelines, etc. We would hate for anyone to misunderstand misunderstand what thingCHARGER is all about. We are a crowdfunding campaign that is now shipping after 2 years of development and lots of people cheering us on for those 2 years. Crowdfunding campaigns start out advertising and developing at the same time, and once the development of the product is completed, then the new development (in this case our thingCHARGER) is shipped to supporters in the order they joined--so there is always a lag time between when a crowdfunding campaign bills you and when you receive your items.

Review: I ordered their product on November [redacted] and my [redacted] card was charged $127.65 the same day. My order number is [redacted].

On 11/**/15 I called the customer support number listed on their website to find out when the product would arrive. [redacted].

The recording said no one would ever answer, and chances are if you left a message it would be a long while before anyone would return your call. The recording said to send an email to [redacted] or direct through the website contact page to receive a response within a couple of hours. No response.

I sent an email on 11/**/15 direct through the website. When I did not receive a response I sent another email on 12/*/15 to hello[redacted], and supporters[redacted], and I also left a voice message. Still no response.

This evening I googled reviews on the company and saw several complaints for non delivery. I then visited their [redacted] page and saw that everyone commenting on the page was complaining about not receiving their products. Some did receive their products, six and seven months later. I have filed an inquiry with [redacted] requesting a refund.Desired Settlement: Refund

questions.

Review: Paid money for product. Did not receive my products. After inquiring, I was informed that I has "donated" my money to their crowd sourcing program and the future development of the product. I was then invited to "donate" again for an upgraded model (to be developed soon).Desired Settlement: I want my money back!

Business

Response:

We are so sorry that this individual was unaware of our crowdfunding status and unhappy with address confirmation process. We have spoken to them and are refunding their money. That address confirmation process is a little different looks so different because it was designed for our earliest supporters. It is a place that allows them to add on some of the upgrades and types of tips that we developed, at their suggestion, during the two years that we have been working on making this idea into a reality. Additionally, during that development time period, many people have moved, so we ask our supporters to confirm their current shipping information. We are very sorry that it seemed as though these upgrades and tips were not available until a later date as we do have them and are shipping them as fast as we can confirm addresses. We will continue to work with our team to improve communication with our supporters and make sure that they are explaining the process, and why it looks so different, in cases like this. And as we begin to catch up to shipping to our newest supporters we will be looking into better ways to allow them to confirm their shipping information when needed.

We also wish that we could have gotten thingCHARGERs to our newer supporters more quickly.Happily, at this time the individual has completed the shipping verification process and their package is being assembled and shipped. We hope that they will be satisfied with their thingCHARGERs when they arrive. At each time that this individual has contacted us, we have been completely truthful and answered them quickly. During the fall of 2015 we did experience a shortage of units to ship to the thousands of thingCHARGER fans who are waiting patiently for us to fulfill their crowdfunding campaign perk packages. We are attempting to ship to our earliest supporters first in honor of their early support and are working hard to finish fulfilling all of the packages for our 2013 and 2014 contributors by the end of January. While there are thingCHARGER units available on Amazon.com, those units were not placed there by us or by our distribution partner. These are units that were acquired by a third party and have been placed there at a high mark up in cost. We are not sure where these unit were acquired or who has listed them, but our focus continues to remain on fulfilling our early supporters. There are a small number of units available in some Sam's Club/Walmart locations. These were offered by our distribution partner as part of a small market test. We are sorry that the availability of these units has been upsetting, however we continue to offer the best upgrades, perks and deals to our supporters. We understand that the lack of a clear shipping timeline for our contributors has been frustrating to them, so we have added a timeline estimate to our website based on the month that our supporters donated to our campaign. We are also attaching this timeline to any inquiries that we receive regarding crowdfunding, new contributions, or from supporters seeking more information regarding our shipping expectations. We truly appreciate our supporters feedback and, while it sometimes takes a little time to implement solutions based on their concerns, we are listening and we are working to improve. In this case, we hope that this individuals concerns have been addressed and that as soon as their thingCHARGERs arrive they will be completely satisfied.
