The business has sent you an additional response.  Please read below:I had [redacted] on our team check on that case. As so often we've done everything we can but the individuals actions have made it impossible to close: they won't close with you because we haven't done a refund. We can't do a refund because they've filed a credit card chargeback. I hate this stuff. See below.  Hello Seymour,  //We answered this complaint on the Revdex.com on January [redacted]. The individual has not accepted our response yet because they are waiting to do so until they receive a refund. However, they have an active credit card dispute. They claim that their dispute is no longer active as of January [redacted], but so far Stripe has not released the account to allow us to process a refund. We have emailed them and let them know that we are still waiting for notification from the bank of the closure of their dispute.  We have emailed Stripe twice regarding this and asking them to investigate.   I have been checking on this account daily in our Stripe center.  I am sorry that I haven't gotten this one resolved yet. We are working on it and did explain the dispute process in our Revdex.com response. >> The All-Time #1 Mobile Accessory Crowdfunding Campaign: >> [redacted] The very best: Seymour S[redacted]thingCHARGER  [redacted]

The in enters need to back to the drawing board. The Chargers cannot support the devices with the small tip. Most iPhones and iPads have some sort of case. Devices are not standing straight when in a case. It's ridiculous to think the case can be removed each time you charge. What were they thinking of? Not very smart. I returned my thing chargers and suggested that the company design a cradle to support devices. The second problem is not being to see the connection because it is underneath the charger. The third problem was a long delay between the order and the delivery in spite of the charge to my [redacted] at least four months before delivery. They used these funds to continuing to work on starting the business

When this individual contacted us on January [redacted], we returned their email the same day. They verified their shipping information the next day and their package was shipped immediately. We normally expect that supporters that contributed to our campaign early were fully aware of our crowdfunding...

status, but occassionally they are not. With crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money toward a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the amazing people who supported us. We are so excited to be a successful crowdfunding campaign that is shipping as quickly as we can to our earliest supporters. We are shipping in the order in which we received contributions to honor our earliest supporters for the patience and their incredible support. It looks like this individuals package was delivered on January [redacted]. We hope they are truly enjoying cordless charging, but if they have any further concerns, we encourage them to contact us at [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:In my complaint, I noted a failure to send product within 30 days and requested a refund. I am of interested in responding to thier request to confirm shipping information. They have the correct information to refund my purchase. They need to address my request directly.

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by thingCHARGER Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted].I returned the Chargers a week or so ago and have not heard from the company nor have I seen a credit on my credit card. I emailed them to let them know they were shipped and to...

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed thI consider this an absolute scam and refuse to give you any funds, that would make me a fool. Why you can't just provide what people purchase from you , I cannot understand.   I am asking for a full refund. Keep your product for someone else.   I have cc'd the Revdex.com on this email, my complaint # is in the subject, line.   [redacted] Sent from my iPad On Jan **, 2016, at 4:30 PM, thingCHARGER ~ Amanda M. This response is laughable.  The so called statements that is it a crowdfunding campaign -- where they exist -- are not readily evident.  It really does appear to me that the website is purposely minimizing anything that might provide that information to the consumer.  They have made no offer to ACTUALLY state "clearly and prominently" on the thingCHARGER website that it is a crowdfunding campaign and that shipping would not be immediate.
First, I only got to the company's website from a Facebook ad.  There was no indication on that ad that it was a crowdfunded campaign or that shipping would not be immediate.  I notice the company didn't address that.
Second, there is no indication on the thingCHARGER video that it is a crowdfunding campaign until the very bitter end of a lengthy video.  And, frankly, they really only refer to "contributions".  The video also references the indiegogo.com campaign which is over.  And, they don't outright call it a crowdfunding campaign.  One would have to make the inference that they were talking about a crowdfunded campaign.  And, there is no indication on that video that shipping would be delayed in anyway.
Third, when you click on the "get yours" button on the thingCHARGER website, its automatically scrolls down -- past the faq and the rest of the website -- to the buttons to choose 1, 4 or 7 chargers.  It in no way identifies them as perks.  Then, in order to see the statement that it is a "contribution" (it doesn't say it is a crowdfunded campaign) -- that is in barely visible white lettering on light grey --  one would have had to continue to scroll down past the buttons to the very end of the page.  In addition, there is no indication that shipping would be delayed in anyway.  Fourth, when one chooses to purchase one of the thingCHARGER packages the website takes you to an intermediate page which provides information on the product and links to upsell you.  Nothing on that page indicates in any way that it is a crowdfunded campaign or that you will not be delivering promptly.  It looks just like a regular retail purchase.  By the way, the only link to the terms and conditions referenced by the company, is on the very bottom of that page.  There does not appear to be any other links to the terms and conditions elsewhere on the company's website. Fifth, when you select the "choose this" button and the website takes you to the order page, the only mention of a crowdfunded campaign is at the very bottom of the form after the shipping details and the "place order" button -- again requiring the user to manually scroll down to the very bottom of the page.
In addition, thingCHARGER's invoice  gives NO indication that thingCHARGER isn't immediately shipping, that my payment was considered a "contribution," or that it was part of "crowdfunding" campaign.  The invoice I recieved clearly refers to my "order," identifies the "product," and even includes charges for shipping and includes my address.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

The business has responded.  Please see below:The individual first contacted our contributor care team late in the evening on August [redacted]. Although he states that his emails to us were ignored, we have a record of our back and forth conversations with him. We find it unfortunate when there is...

a misunderstanding, and our Contributor Care team responded the next morning and offered a free upgrade for the confusion he and his wife experienced. Ultimately the individual wanted a refund and one was processed without delay. At the time of the advertisement he mentioned, thingCHARGER was still in the crowdfunding phase. Our website, the video, and our FAQ’s all explained this. Our phone number does have a voicemail for individuals to leave messages which are checked and responded to daily. The outgoing message is set up to refer individuals to our email as this is our most efficient method of communication. Our entire team is made up of a group of people who are extremely committed to getting thingCHARGER out to all of our contributors this summer. We also provide weekly updates in the form of a live hangout, which are then archived so that supporters are able to stay in touch with our latest progress. Every Friday at 1 pm EST we provide a new update and answer supporter questions at [redacted].

We are so grateful that this individual contacted us directly at the same time that they reached out to the Revdex.com. We are thrilled that we were able to help them resolve their frustration and that their thingCHARGER is on...

the way.   We are very sorry for the frustration that this individual experienced regarding the delay in receiving their thingCHARGER. It seems that they may not have been aware when they selected their perk package that thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign.   With crowdfunding, an inventor takes a good idea to the internet. There, many people contribute a small amount of money towards making that idea into a reality. The inventor then takes that money and uses it to create, manufacture, and ship the product. When the product is ready, it is shipped out to all the people who supported its creation, as a thank-you gift.   Because of that process, there is usually a lag between when contributions are received and when perk packages are shipped. This can feel frustrating, but it is a normal part of crowdfunding.   We are so excited to have reached the shipping stage and we know this individual will be thrilled just as soon as their thingCHARGER is delivered.

On the [redacted] of August an address update was requested and we responded on the [redacted] of August with a confirmation that their address was updated in our system. We also upgraded all of their units to include surge protection for FREE. On the [redacted] of October a refund request was...

submitted and we processed the refund on the following day. While we process refund requests - and send a confirmation that we have performed a refund in our system - within 48 hours it may take up to 10 days for the refund to appear on the credit card used for payment. Once we learned that the refund had not appeared on their bank statement within the 10 days we contacted the credit card processing company to find out why this has not appeared on their bank statement. Our team is dedicated to taking care of all of our supporters, both past and present. Our Operations Manager is working directly with this individual to make sure these funds get back to them.

We are very sorry that this individual did not receive our email responses to their questions. We have attempted to reach out to them via both phone and email and will continue to attempt. We encourage our supporters to email us at [redacted]Because crowdfunding uses the funds...

We are very sorry for this individuals frustration. On February [redacted], the same day that they filed this complaint, they contacted us via email requesting a refund. We had already begun that refund process and had emailed them to let them know, prior to receiving this complaint. We would...

like this individual to know that there is a delay between when they file a complaint with the Revdex.com and when the company in question receives that complaint. It seems as though this individual was not aware of our weekly update via hangout video that we have been making available to our contributors for over a year now on our website. We are sorry about that. If our supporters are unable to locate that on our website, we encourage them to use the contact us button and we would be happy to email them a link.At our earliest supporters request, we do not send out mass emails. However it does seem from their emails to us that they were aware of our crowdfunding status and of the delay between contribution and shipping. With crowdfunding, an inventor takes a good idea to the internet. There, many people contribute a small amount of money towards making that idea into a reality. The inventor then takes that money and uses it to create, manufacture, and ship the product. This can feel frustrating, but it is a normal part of crowdfunding. It seems that this individual was simply not comfortable waiting, so we are processing their refund.

At this time thingCHARGER is a crowdfunding campaign that has started shipping. We value you as a supporter and appreciate your feedback. We truly do listen to our supporters feedback and have made adjustments to our overall design. One such instance is the adjustable tips that many of...

our supporters asked for. We now have fully adjustable tips that can accommodate a many of the device cases on the market today. We do strive to let get the information about our crowdfunding status to anyone who visits our website. At the top of the website is a video with Amy and Seymour asking the viewer to contribute to our campaign. In the FAQ's we explain that we are shipping at a much later date. At the bottom of the web page we have a disclaimer stating: [redacted]"I would like to know more about how you came to our website as I am perplexed about the payment button you mentioned. This button is marked "continue to payment" with a disclaimer below stating:  “Contribute now to our pre-launch campaign and receive thingCHARGER(s) as an awesome thank-you perk from us when we ship.”

To Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and the matter has been resolved.
HOWEVER, it took two weeks, nine emails, a complaint here, and seven comments on social media to finally get this business to respond to my refund demand. This business is actively selling and advertising on their website [redacted]) and there is nothing on the site about "crowdfunding" or long delays in shipment. (Comments on [redacted] indicate that others are unaware of this company's fulfillment problems too. One woman has been waiting since last March!) For them to pretend that I was aware of their long fulfillment time is WRONG.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
