To Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and the matter has been resolvedHOWEVER, it took two weeks, nine emails, a complaint here, and seven comments on social media to finally get this business to respond to my refund demandThis business is actively selling and advertising on their website [redacted] ) and there is nothing on the site about "crowdfunding" or long delays in shipment(Comments on [redacted] indicate that others are unaware of this company's fulfillment problems tooOne woman has been waiting since last March!) We are thrilled that this individual was able to complete the shipping confirmation with no additional charges and that their thingCHARGERs are already on the wayWhile the final checkout does include a place to add items, it is not required and we are always happy to assist those who encounter difficulty with the process.We are very sorry that this individual was unaware of our crowdfunding status when they first contributed to our campaign in October and that they found the address confirmation process upsettingWe hope that others who experience frustration contact us directly to answer their questions or address their concernsWe are always happy to do so

We received this individuals return to our warehouse at 2:39PM on Friday, January ***Due to this individuals frustration, we are offering them a refund of $-- the full cost of their perk package, less the costs of shipping which are charged by an outside shipping vendor.That return was processed today, January ***, and should be placed into the individuals account by their banking institution in 3-business daysthingCHARGERs do work as advertised when used correctlyThe tips must be adjusted by pressing a button on the back of the unit and moving the tip until the device being charged rests securely on the thingCHARGER unitThe tips were designed to be adjustable to accomodate different devices and casesWe are very sorry that this individual was not able to adjust the tips to their satisfactionThis individual received all parts of their perk packageThe package that they selected was a Choose 3, Get Free packageThis package comes with thingCHARGER units with microUSB tips included standard and with Apple Lightning tips added for free as a special perk for our supportersWe are not able to package a free Lightning tip with the free thingCHARGER unit, due to the cost of the Lightning tipsWe are sorry about this, but it simply isn't feasible at this timeWe do provide an opportunity to add additional tips prior to shipment if our supporters so chooseThis individual did not, and a complete summary of the contents of their package was listed on their shipping confirmation pageWe are very sorry that they did not receive everything that they would have likedWe are also sorry that this individual did not receive his products as quickly as he would have likedWe make several shipping speeds available and this individual selected standard shipping directly prior to the Christmas holidayShipping near the holidays is usually slower and we are sorry that this was the case for this individualThis individual will receive their refund as soon as their banking institution processes it to their accountWe understand that this was not the exact resolution that they were looking for, given that we are not able to refund the cost of shipping, and we do apologize for the frustration and upset that they have experiencedWe hope that our willingness to expedite their return and our refund of their full package value will help

We are truly mystified that this complaint has occurredThis individual's package is in route to them We are a crowdfunding campaign that started shipping in SeptemberWe have made every effort to show that we are a crowdfunding campaign.*In our video that auto plays on the homepage Amy and Seymour do ask for contributions to help us launch thingCHARGER.*On the front page of our website, you will see the phrase “Contribute now to our pre-launch campaign and receive thingCHARGER(s) as an awesome thank-you perk from us when we ship, located at the bottom of the page.*In addition, when selecting your perk package and preparing to hit the “continue to payment” button, you will see these words written below: “Contribute now to our pre-launch campaign and receive thingCHARGER(s) as an awesome thank-you perk from us when we ship.”*Also, our terms and conditions page does clearly outline our crowdfunding statusHere is that link: [redacted] Our customer service team is the best around and we are truly dedicated to taking care of our supporters

This individual contacted us seeking information on their package in DecemberAt that point we explained our crowdfunding status and tried to make them comfortable with waiting until the new year to receive their packageThey did not reply to that message otherwise, so we moved forwardOn February *, the same day that they contacted the Revdex.com, they contacted us At that time we asked them to confirm their shipping information, however they were not comfortable with that process and asked for an immediate refundWe have emailed them confirming that we have processed a refund of their full contribution, and those funds will be returned to their account by their credit card company.We are very sorry that we were unable to assist this individual in feeling comfortable with our shipping confirmation processHowever, we are happy to issue them a refund and hope that this resolves their concerns

Disappointed thus far with the experience with thing chargerI wasn't aware I was making a donation and not receiving my items I ordered until I came up with more money before it would be sent to meI paid the $upon ordering in October I just recently sent an email to them asking about my order and why it was not sent yetThat's when they sent me the link to what I now needed to doIs this for this?

We are mystified as to why this individual has lodged a Revdex.com complaintThey first contacted us with their concerns and we responded the same dayAs soon as the shipping details were confirmed these were boxed up and ready to shipAt the time of this posting this package is on it’s way to the individual.At the time of this response thingCHARGER is a crowdfunding campaign that has started shippingI would like to explain about our crowdfunding status and why things feel a bit "different" with our shipping timelines, etc We would hate for anyone to misunderstand misunderstand what thingCHARGER is all aboutWe are a crowdfunding campaign that is now shipping after years of development and lots of people cheering us on for those years Crowdfunding campaigns start out advertising and developing at the same time, and once the development of the product is completed, then the new development (in this case our thingCHARGER) is shipped to supporters in the order they joined--so there is always a lag time between when a crowdfunding campaign bills you and when you receive your items

At the time of this complaint thingCHARGER was a crowdfunding campaign. We started shipping in September of 2015 and continue to ship as fast as we can. Our records... indicate that the thingCHARGERs have been delivered to the individual. The [redacted] sales were part of a market test that was made possible through a special donation. While for a large market distribution they were limited in quantity, their production allowed us to order from production in larger amounts that actually enabled us to produce thingCHARGERs more quickly and ship to our contributor’s sooner. It's counter-intuitive, but ordering more items means using a larger factory and allows us to get more thingCHARGERs, faster. With regard to the 30 Pin Tip and charges for it, we were excited to be able to offer the 30 Pin tip. Having it allows us to offer charging capability for older devices. It isn't included free of charge because most often it is not needed by our supporters. Because it is needed in much smaller quantities, producing it is much more expensive. In order to off-set those costs, we are sad to say that we do have to charge a fee. We don't typically mention this in advance because for most of our supporters it isn't necessary. They simply don't need the 30 Pin tip and offering them information on it wastes their time. When we are asked we try to make the fees for additional tips clear. I am very sorry that wasn't done here. We are sorry to say that we do not yet know exactly where these units were acquired, and who placed them on [redacted] or ***. We have fulfilled a good number of contributors from earlier in our campaign, and it is possible that someone decided to attempt to resell theirs.

During the time frame of this transaction thingCHARGER was still a crowdfunding project and not accepting direct ordersThe confirmation email that she received was confirming the perk package that was selectedthingCHARGER has customer support agents returning phone calls and responding to email inquiriesWe received our first email communication from her on the [redacted] of December and responded on the same dayShe was offered an upgrade to stick with the campaign until the New YearUltimately she requested a refund and one was processed on the [redacted] of December.It’s unfortunate when we hear of confusion about our crowdfunding campaignWe do provide information about our campaign on the home page of the website, in our FAQs, in the video that auto plays and a disclaimer is listed in the shopping cart

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I am frustrated that thingCHARGER continues to put blame on the contributor for what he or she didn't do or didn't understandWhether it wasn't watching the weekly updates to be informed of the status of the product or not understanding what was included with the thingCHARGER or what additional charges the contributor might incur, somehow it was always the contributor's fault or responsibility That said, the following list details what I would like done to rectify the situation and make things better with me: 1) Receipt of the second tip for all thingCHARGERs purchased2) Return of both 30-tip adapters and replacement with appropriate tips for my iPhone 5sI was incorrect in thinking I had an iPhone I apologize for that errorIt was labeled incorrectly in my settings3) Either a reasonable explanation of the additional $charge or credit of that amount to my credit cardThe figures in my receipt do not add upPlease see attached receiptThe receipt that was sent to me recently from thingCHARGER WAS incorrect4) A credit of $for 30-tip adapters purchased which were offered for free when I activated my thingCHARGERS on-line5) Shorten weekly tube updates to make more customer friendly and e-mail links for weekly updates to contributorsDon't expect contributors to remember to check for these updates week after week In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Hopefully I can clear this up for you. thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding... campaign. It seems that perhaps you did not realize this, and we apologize. I would love to make this right. Of course, we will work with you to fix this immediately. I'd love to give you some more information: WHEN WILL YOU SHIP TO ME? We have shipped to nearly 20,000 supporters at this time. We expect to ship to you early in the New Year and we will have special deals available to you at that point. WHAT IS CROWDFUNDING? In case you are unfamiliar with crowdfunding, it is a new type of start-up platform where inventors launch a new product and interact in special ways with supporters. That is the reason that we charge your card now. With all crowdfunding campaigns, there is a gap between when you pay for your items and when you receive them. The “crowd” helps “fund” this start-up and gets Special Deals in return as a thank you from our new company. We have a wonderful supporter base. You are all like family to us here at thingCHARGER. You can read more about crowdfunding online, in places such as Wikipedia. It has grown more and more popular over the years with many new companies being launched this way. Of course, if this presents a problem for you, please let us know and we will work to get this resolved for you right away.

We apologize for the misunderstanding. We do try to make our crowdfunding status clear and it is unfortunate when that is not sucessful. This individual's package has been shipped and is on it's way.

This is a waste of money not as promised it only works on Apple devices they will not take returns I waited over weeks for this to arriveWhen it finally did it did not deliver as promised We are not an Apple familyWe only have Androids and wish to keep it that wayThis only works on Apple devicesThey don't claim or announce that in any of their advertisements, in fact, claim it works on all phonesIt does notI did get it to work on my old Samsung, nothing newWe have Samsung and LG's and it only works on my previous phone which I still had laying around When I contacted them, they kept telling me it has tips and an adapterYes, I am aware of that, however, they don't work on our phones and I would like to return for a refund I was told No If I bought a product in a store and I got home and found it did not work for me I could return itBut not this productThere is no real customer service to speak of, you must email and hope they get back to you For me, when they did, they just repeated the same exact thing as the previous timeNo explanations, just that there are tips to try Very frustratingDo not waste your money on thisIt is not so great - ads are all deceiving on purpose

There seems to be a misunderstanding over the final checkout processWhile the shipping did cost an additional fifteen cents, we actually comp’d this to the individual as we did not want inconvenience them over such a little amountWe do request that people go to a link and re-confirm their package and shipping details so that we can ensure that they receive everything that they would likeWe apologize for the confusion
