A Toshiba America Information Systems (TAIS) Representative has reviewed our customer’s complaintAfter doing a research, we have determined that the physical condition of the laptop that our customer reported to us is considered to be beyond the warranty coverage of the computer and a refund is not an option however Toshiba is inclined to set up a rework for the customer in accordance to the standard limited warranty of the unitAt this time we consider this matter closed

A Toshiba America Information Systems (TAIS) representative has reviewed our customer complaintAfter doing a research TAIS found out that our customer was able to speak with our case managers and was informed that the issue of the computer is out of scope due to physical damage, which means it is not covered by the Standard Limited Warranty of the unitThe LCD display screens on notebook computers are made of two thin layers of glass with dark liquid crystal material in betweenThe glass is covered on the outside by a layer of plasticOur customers often feel that there cannot be a broken LCD display because they cannot feel the breakHowever, cracks in the glass usually cannot be felt because the plastic covering rarely breaks or fracturesLines or pattern might appear on the screen and also Black “spots”This can be liquid crystal spilling out of a crack as evidence by the lines showing on the screen of our customer’s computerOur customer can contact Toshiba Repair Services at 800-438-At this time we consider this matter closed

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] I have contacted the tech support that they suggested and none of their tech support could get it to work even when they remotely accessed my computer The disk that they sent me with the serial number that they mentioned does not work A tech even took a snapshot of the disk to send to Toshiba headquarters because it does not work and they could not get it to work I asked them why don;t they send me a new replacement WINDVD that works and they have not done so The last time I heard from a tech was when thy told me they was sending my problem to Toshiba headquarters for resolution I am still waiting so I filed a complaint with you because I have been given the run around with no resolution I have a record of more than five calls to Toshiba on this matter as well as a written on line to their customer service for assistance Why the company cannot just send me a replacement disk with a operating multi CD player that is operationalI am really not understanding why such a large company cannot ensure that their products function properly is beyond my understanding Again what they have written about my contacting their tech support as a rationale is bogus, because like I said I did that first and could not get the assistance needed in getting the player operational, their tech support could not get it to work I appreciate your assistance in this matter in addressing this complaint I notice some others have complaint about Toshiba product with not resolution, If I get out of this situation amicably I will not purchase another Toshiba product Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I never declined the offer, I told multiple representatives that I felt that I should not have to pay for the return of the unitI know that the broken connector did not contribute to the reason the unit will not power onThe battery was replaced the unit worked for a couple weeks even after the connector was broken the unit worked as a tablet (which is a selling/marketing point of the unit)I spoke to a repat Toshiba that told me to purchase the part from the depot and have it installed, I didThe unit worked fine then it stopped powering onI agree that the unit gets power to both parts (the computer/top/monitor and the keyboard), but it will not come onAnother rep there told me that the unit has a lock on it and I had to send it in to have the lock removed Again I do not understand how the broken connector is the cause of the unit not workingI had the computer examined by a professional who advised that the mother board was broken I've attached a few really quick reviews for you, I feel that Toshiba understands that this laptop was inferior to other products manufactured by them which in my opinion is the reason for discontinuing this particular laptopYour website has trouble shooting for the same issuethere are also complaints about the laptop's performance If this laptop was one that functioned properly, then "everything" about it would not have changed Regards, [redacted]

A TAIS representative was in contact with our customer on 02/04/TAIS has apologized for any inconvenience and informed the customer that their warranty expired on 02/16/Per the Standard Limited Warranty it states, “Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc(“Toshiba”) warrants that the Toshiba branded product you purchased for your end use (“Product”) is free from defects in materials and workmanship under use during the Limited Warranty Period.” Also, “How Long Does This Warranty Last? One (1) year after the date of your purchase (“Limited Warranty Period”).” Seeing as the customer has exceeded the warranty period they are now responsible for any repairs and or technical assistanceAt this time we consider this matter closed

I know this is a hard drive issue that crashed because I replaced the hard drive with a different one and the laptop worked just fine with no problems what so ever I have no idea what Toshiba is trying to pull but this is a "lemon" issue They sold me a faulty laptop and will not replace the bad hard drive which was faulty from the start! I had this laptop for months and it crashed! This should have never happened especially since there was NO THIRD PARTY software installed and it was used only a handful of times I rarely left my laptop bag I paid $for the laptopthey want $to repair it FOR A HARD DRIVE!!!!! They also sold me a recovery usb that failed because it has a BAD hard drive All I want is a new hard drive installed, nothing more, nothing less Otherwiserefund my money so I can purchase a new laptop Regards, [redacted] ***
