Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. As long as Penn Foster actually zero's out the balance and actually removes the collection of all fees they have over charged me. They have actually sent me a payment book with a letter stating I owe them $300.00 so I am waiting to receive any letter of notice of actual cancellation from Penn Foster.

required by law to refund the amount the same method of payment that was paid. Since [redacted] paid via credit card (ending in 7927) the refund would need to go back to that credit card. Per Penn Foster policy, before the refund can be issued we need to allow 10 days for the payment to fully clear. Since [redacted]’s payment for $999.00 was made on February 11, 2016, we will process the full refund on February 21, 2016. Because the refund date falls on a Sunday, [redacted] may not see the full refund of $999.00 until the following day, February 22, 2016.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have cause [redacted].

signed enrollment agreement.    [redacted] contacted us on September 7th 2010 and was given the option to cancel or switch to a new program. [redacted] disconnected the call without letting us know what he wanted to do. On November 19th 2010 [redacted] did speak to us to cancel out of his account and he was mailed his cancelation liability terms. [redacted] did not make any payments toward his cancelation liability therefore the debt did get reported on his credit.   As of November 4th, 2016 we closed out [redacted] account with a zero liability, and a request was made to amend his credit report. by submitting a down payment and a signed enrollment agreement.

Students who complete more than ten percent and up to twenty-five percent of their exams owe twenty-five percent of the tuition including the registration, admissions and shipping fees. This is stated on [redacted] signed enrollment agreement. Since [redacted] completed over thirteen percent of her exams, she owes twenty-five percent of the tuition including the fees previously mentioned.  In the event a monthly payment is ten days late, a $15.00 late fee will become due. If the default is not covered within forty days of the institution's notice, we reserve the right to call the total program price due immediately plus any related collection or attorney fees.  This is stated on [redacted] signed enrollment agreement.

As a courtesy, I have lowered [redacted]’ liability from $1,015.30 to $507.65 giving her a fifty percent discount.  Since [redacted] already paid $88.00, her remaining balance is $419.65.  [redacted] can make payment to the outside agency until the balance is paid.  At that time, [redacted]’ account will be removed from the outside agency and her credit report will be amended.

In addition, I have attached a copy of the cost breakdown [redacted] requested.  Any additional fees on the account will not be reflected on the breakdown (late, agency fees, etc).  I also mailed a copy to [redacted] for review.

agreement and a down payment.   [redacted]’s signed enrollment agreement states students wishing to cancel after six days from their enrollment date and have completed 10% and up to and including 25% of the program, Penn Foster will retain 25% of the refundable tuition.  The refundable amount remains available to students if they cancel or transfer to another program.  The refund is available prior to the study time expiration date of the program.  [redacted]’s refund of $579.75 expired on November 22, 2016.    I attempted to contact [redacted] by telephone today, March 20, 2017, and left her a voicemail.  I also emailed her to offer her two options.  I will open the Veterinary Assistant program if she wishes to continue with it or I will transfer the $579.75 to another program if she wishes to transfer.  I am waiting to hear from [redacted].   If you have any further questions, please contact me directly at ###-###-####.   Sincerely,     Toni M[redacted] Student Care

To Whom It May Concern:
On May 13, 2015 I had a phone conference with [redacted] in which we discussed her concerns with her health issues.  It was decided to cancel her Administrative Assistant Career Diploma Program with no further financial obligations and enroll her into the Fitness and Nutrition Certificate.  [redacted] is enrolled in a program better suited for her.  [redacted] was pleased with the outcome and she has my contact information should she need anything in the future.

To Whom It May Concern:

I welcome the opportunity to address [redacted]’ concerns. [redacted] enrolled in our Veterinary Technician Associates Degree on September...

26, 2015 by submitting a down payment and a signed enrollment agreement.

During enrollment, students can choose the date their payment is due. [redacted] selected the 28th of the month for her payment due date.  Since she enrolled on September 26, 2015 and chose the 28th of the month to enroll, a payment was deducted.

On September 29, 2015 [redacted] transferred from the veterinary Technician Associates Degree and enrolled into the Web Page Designer Career Diploma.  The full amount paid, $118.00 was moved to her Web Page Designer Career Diploma program as a down payment.  [redacted] spoke to a supervisor on September 29, 2015 in regards to the payments and was advised of this.  [redacted] account was cancelled with a full refund of $118.00 on September 29, 2015.  Our policy states we need to allow 27 days for payments made via [redacted] to clear; therefore, [redacted] refund was not ordered until October 26, 2015.

I had a phone conference with [redacted] on November 9, 2015 and advised her the check for $118.00 was mailed on October 30, 2015.  [redacted] should have the check by November 13, 2015.

agreement and a down payment.

On [redacted]’ signed enrollment agreement states students wishing to cancel after five days from their enrollment date and complete up to ten percent of their exams would owe ten percent of their tuition balance including the registration, admissions, shipping and any late/agency fees.

[redacted] inquired about cancelling her account on August 26, 2015 in which she was advised of her cancellation terms at that time.  Unfortunately, while speaking with a supervisor the call was lost.  The supervisor adjusted the cancellation terms and [redacted] was only charged for the tuition and late/NSF fees.

In the event a monthly payment is ten days late, a $15.00 late fee will become due. If the default is not covered within forty days of the institution's notice, we reserve the right to call the total program price due immediately plus any related collection or attorney fees.  This is stated on [redacted]’ signed enrollment agreement.

I have a phone conference with [redacted] on November 20, 2015to discuss her concerns.  Ultimately, it was decided that I would refund her $142.00 once Penn Foster receives receipt of payment from the outside agency.  This process can take 28 days for the payment to clear.  [redacted] was happy with the communication and outcome.

payment and a signed enrollment agreement.
Students completing more than fifty percent of their exams owe the full tuition balance, which is stated on [redacted] signed enrollment agreement. [redacted] completed seventy-six percent of her exams; therefore, she owes the full tuition balance along with the registration and administrative fees.
According to our records, we received $1.00 from [redacted]. If [redacted] can provide documentation that reflects a different amount she can send it directly to me for review.
As a courtesy, I have cancelled [redacted]’ account only charging her for the percent of tuition completed plus the registration and administrative fees. This lowers [redacted]’ liability from $751.20 to $455.00.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I did not try to utilize my Penn Foster Diploma until recently. Once again I was told from the Dean at [redacted] (Columbia MD Campus) that Penn Foster during the year 2012 that was having accreditation issues and that's why they rejected my Diploma and my enrollment will be canceled. I recently found out that the Penn Foster school is now accredited but it was not in 2012. I hope someone could please help me with this issue because if I had known that were not accredited as advertised I would not have wasted my time and money.

I am rejecting this response because: This letter that Penn foster wrote is inaccurate. I started in 2011 and graduated last year. This diploma is not Regionally accredited nor nationally accredited. This diploma is not a high school diploma. What they told me was this diploma I can go to college and join the airforce. Both denied this diploma along with several other colleges/ military. This diploma can't be used any where but hung on somebody's wall. I want me $1200 refund back as I cannot do anything with this diploma. It's not  regionally nationally accredited accredited. NO BODY NO SCHOOLS COLLEGES HOSPITALS JOBS MILITARY NOT ONE TAKE THIS DIPLOMA. I will like my money back.
