To Whom It May Concern:
I welcome the opportunity to address Ms*** concernsMs*** enrolled in our Administrative Assistant Career Diploma on April 30, by submitting a signed enrollment
agreement and a down payment.
On Ms***’s signed enrollment agreement states students wishing to cancel after five days from their enrollment date and complete up to ten percent of their exams would owe ten percent of their tuition balance including the registration, admissions and shipping and handling fees.
We attempted to take the first monthly payment out of Ms***s account as she requested automatic payments but the payment declined. We tried several times to contact Ms*** to advise her of thisIn the event a monthly payment is ten days late, a $late fee will become dueIf the default is not covered within forty days of the institution's notice, we reserve the right to call the total program price due immediately plus any related collection or attorney fees. As a result, Ms*** was placed in an outside agency.
As a courtesy, I have cancelled Ms***’s account with no further financial obligations. Ms*** will be removed from the outside agency and her credit report will be amended within thirty days. After already submitting a Revdex.com complaint about my transcripts, I was told PennFoster (PF) would accept a one time payment with a 30% discount on my tuition balance and informed the school's financial service department would be contacting *** Services (collector) to inform them of this on November 8thDuring my acceptance/refusal step, I indicated that I would need specifics on the amount the 30% was being discounted from and what the end total would beI contacted PFs financial department, they say they cannot see any financial detailsContacted *** on the 10th,they informed me that no such offer has been made and that PF stands firm on their "lowest possible amount" acceptable being $I have tried multiple times and left multiple messages at the number and for the person listed in the Revdex.com resolution, have had no response whatsoeverI was offered a one time payoff amount of $in July of this year, to which I stated "maybe I can get family to pay this for my birthday", obviously that didn't happen, and I have been planning on that number since discussing with PF customer service in JulyThe amounts told to me are varied and I can't get anyone to confirm which is correct, since none of the amounts equal to the $which I'm told is the one and only offerThey are: Tuition balance:$*** balance (tuition plus PF late fees): $*** "lowest possible offer": $July offer: $(balance with 35% discount) These amounts with the 30% discount are: Tuition balance less 30%: $*** Balance less 30%:$Neither of the beginning amounts, tuition alone or tuition plus late fees equal $with the 30% discount*** has told me that the 30% discount has already been applied and they have no answer for why the amounts are differentI have been working on a resolution on this for weeks and am being told different things by different departments and I cannot get a straight answer or a return call from someone with the authority to provide that answer.TranslateDesired Resolution / OutcomeDesired Resolution: Billing AdjustmentBilling AdjustmentselectDesired Outcome: I want a letter or document from PennFoster that indicates both the original and 30% discounted amount and that *** has been instructed to accept this amount (preferably the $but will accept $2098) and upon payment to *** and notification from them that the amount has been satisfied, then my PF account will be open and my transcripts availableThis has also been reported to my credit as of 11/16/and I would like that removed seeing as how I have been trying to resolve this for weeks.Translate

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I have read Corinne L***'s response to my Revdex.com complaint When payment is made for a product, the expectation is that the product should arrive promptly and in full If this is not possible, the purchaser should be made aware of the fact of the delay before purchasing Merchants generally post "On back order," "our of stock," etcmessages next to items that cannot be shipped immediately. At the least, an estimated arrival time should be provided, again BEFORE the customer makes a financial commitment to an expensive and time-consuming program. To take my money, and make me sign a contract, and only afterwards, tell me you have no idea when I will be given the merchandise---and to tell me I need to look elsewhere to get the advertised course materials in order to complete the requirements of YOUR contract--is a misleading and indifferent business practice at best, and fraudulent at worst. To quote Penn Foster: "Unfortunately, Penn Foster is in the process of converting the software from a shippable item over to a digital download option As this is still in process and there is no estimated timeframe of completion,..." Penn Foster should have put this prominently on their website to warn anyone considering buying the program While I appreciate your promise to refund my down payment of $119.00, I want a written guarantee that Penn Foster releases me from the contract I signed with them on 8/28/as Student ID #*** Only then will I consider the matter resolved, and only then will I decide not to pursue this with a legal consumer protection entity. *** ***@***.com
