Review: I graduated with a Master's Degree in Education in May of 2013. I took out federal student loans to finance my education and once I graduated was given a 6 month grace period before my student loan payments were to begin. In October of 2013 I saw an online ad for a company called Student Loan Managers. They advertised that they could assist in managing student loan debt by assisting people with consolidation of their loans as well as assistance with applying for an income based repayment plan. I spoke with an Aaron Bennett who was my main contact with the company at that time. I signed a contract that allowed Student Loan Managers to assist on my behalf with consolidation of my loans and help me obtain an affordable monthly payment. I entered into contract with them on 11/21/13. My first payment of $360 was debited from my checking account on 11/21/13. This was for the initial set up for the program fee that needed to be paid to them in order for them to begin the consolidation process. After that I was given monthly payment amounts that I would need to make for the sole purpose of paying my loans. The payments, including the $360 were paid to a trust account by the name of Secure Account Service in AZ. Then, the payments were to be paid to Sallie Mae Loan Servicing who held my loans at that time. I was notified in early 2014 that Student Loan Managers was bought out and that the new name of the company was United Advisors Group. Nothing was to change regarding the way the payments were collected and how they were going to get to Sallie Mae to pay my loans. Again, I continued to make payments via ACH withdrawals throughout 2014. In September 2014, I was contacted by United Advisors Group (UAG) stating that I needed to re-apply for the yearly income based repayment plan to certify my income and job status. This paperwork was completed on 9/22/14 and never submitted. My student loans were NEVER paid since enrolling in 11/2013!Desired Settlement: I want my money back that I paid to UAG through the trust account with Secure Account Service. The total amount I paid since November 21, 2013 was $3881.71. This amount was reduced from $4132.11 since I was given back the amount of $300.40 by filing the bond claim with my credit union in order to get back the payments I had made in April and May of 2015. This does not include the $1334.88 that I was refunded from the trust as I don't know if that was my money or what that was. If this amount were to be deducted, the amount that I need to be refunded is $2546.83. I also want to be reimbursed for the hours of personal time I had to put into researching and closing accounts, lost time from work in order to complete these activities.

Response:

This client claims no payments have every been made to her account and because of that she will be contacting an attorney. UAG explained to the client that because she qualified for a $0 payment through the Department of Education due to her income back last April. Even thought the client qualifies for a $0 payment that payment still counts towards repayment and discharge of the loan. Client was extremely rude, telling UAG employees shut up as well calling them a [redacted] UAG told the client that not only did we do the work but also completed a whole year. this client does not understand how the program works.

Review: This company is supposed to consolidate student loans, and has been taking payment from my checking account since Dec. 2014. I have not seen any reciept of payment showing the payment is going towards my student loans as disscussed and agreed upon. Nothing has been reported to Fed Student Loan Dept. at all. Spoke with FSLD, and they said they show no records of any payments and show no affiliation to UAG. FSLD is continuing to attempt to collect from me directly because of this. UAG does not return my calls, nor will/do they provide any documentation of transactions. I feel I am being scammed, cheated, wronged, and stolen from. I would like to know what to do to correct this problem and have my money returned to my account so I may pay my student loans off legitimatly.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the total balance debited from my checking returned so I may pay my student loans as I thought I was through this company. So that the gov. does not come after me taking my tax returns or garnish my wages. I am trying to do the right thing in paying back my student loans. I was just looking for a little help and break in doing so.

This client file has been closed and canceled. This client is upset that his payment came back higher than he thought it would be. The Department of Education income based program are based off the current income. This client told AUG he made $20,000 and signed a income verification document stating so. The client states he never said $20,000 but he signed for. He said he makes $20,000-$25,000. When we received his actual pay stubs he makes $27,000. UAG can only go by what the client states until we get proof this story does not add up on the clients behalf. Regardless he is still saving money from his previous payments. Please let UAG know if you need any further information.

Review: So I wanted to get my student loans down and I paid almost $300 and they did nothing for me I sent in copies of my pay stubs did everything they asked me to do they knew all my information and all the numbers I needed to get a hold to talk to the student loan people so know I have been trying to call them to get my money back and all I get is a answering machine, no one calls me back and its the same person on the machine every time.Desired Settlement: My Payment of $270 back

Response:

Thank you for sending UAG this complaint. This complaint is ridiculous as the client caused herself to get garnished by the Department of Education. When this client signed up on 8/9/14 she was in default on her current student loans for not making payments for at least a year. When you are in default you must call the collection agency the Department of Education uses and getting into a rehabilitation program to get out of default to submit the consolidation to enter a income based repayment plan. UAG cant negotiate a payment for the client with the collections agency. The client was instructed to call and get into a rehab program as soon as possible. The client wrote tot he Revdex.com and wants a refund because she did not get into a rehabilitation program and did not make payments on her student loans for more than 1 year. That is no fault of UAG as UAG can only coach not pay bills for the client. The $275 the client paid is being refund and UAG will no longer assist this client moving forward as she is trying to tarnish UAG's name for her own fault of not paying her bills in a timely manner. If you pay your bills you wont get garnished simple as that. UAG has done nothing wrong at this time and has closed this account.

Review: I signed up with this company in August of 2014 for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. This company has done nothing but take my money, $909.25 worth and has not gotten an approval for the Loan Forgiveness Program.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund because these people are just taking my money and not rendering the services that they say they provide.

Thank you for informing us of this complaint. This client is upset stating UAG has done nothing as she is not approved and consolidated. Now that the process is done she wants a refund of fees when the work has already been done. UAG has no control over the time frame it takes to process he consolidation as we wait on the Department of Education and new servicer. At this time w are closing this client account as it is not a good fit. We will refund $507.15 via ACH. If you need anything further information please don't hesitate to reach out.

Review: I signed up with United Advisors Group in August 2014 to consolidate my two student loans. There was a deposit fee of $300 and payments of 181 monthly. I was told if I pay 10 years they would clear any money left on my loans. I called them a few months ago to ask for a statement of the money I've been paying since August because I had received a phone call from my other students loans telling me that I had late payments on the loans that UAG had taken over. When I spoke to UAG, they told me that the money has not gone towards my loans and it was being put into an account until I submitted my paychecks March 6th, 2015. Everytime I call to see if my money is going to paying off my loans, they either hang up or they tell me someone will call me back about the matter.Desired Settlement: I would like to know if this company is a real business or a scam. Also, I would like to know where my money is and if I can get my money back if they are unable to provide the service they promised me in August.

Good Afternoon!

Review: I have been working with this company since 05/2014 and they have not done anything they told me they would do in regard to my student loans. They do not return my emails and/or my phone messages. When I do get someone they promise to handle my issues and to allow me to speak with someone in management bur it never has happened. They continue to deduct funds from my checking account and I wish them to stop. Because they have been dishonest about their services it has caused the home I was trying to purchase to fall out of escrow.Desired Settlement: I would like United Advisors Group LLC. to refund all monies deducted from my checking account and discontinue the ACH that is set-up the 20th of each month.

Thank you for letting us know about this complaint. [redacted] an employee from United Advisors Group has reached out to the client to discuss the concerns. United Advisors Group has done nothing wrong on this file completing every task that was promised in the discloses. The consolidation went through and the client is on track with her student loans through the Department of Education. The client complains on the time it took to finish the process which United Advisors Group has no control of. The time frame is based on the Department of Education back log. We have not been dishonest in any way but will still refund this client her funds to part ways as we don't want to associate with dishonest clients tarnishing our name when we followed normal procedures. If you need any further information please reach out, thank you for your time.

Review: I signed up with UAG September of 2014 and paid an initial fee of $282 then have been paying $63.17 a month since, which is SUPPOSED to be going toward my student loan payment. All the while I've still been getting bills from [redacted] saying I'm not paying my bills. I've tried to contact them but they hang up or don't answer. I figured the mail from [redacted] was in error and that the issue would clear up with time after everything was processed. In September of 2015 someone from united advisors contacted me about information, including pay stubs, that was needed to verify I could continue with the company. At that time I told the person on the phone that I've tried to contact them and I want to know why [redacted] is still sending bills. He informed me that after this phone call that "won't happen again" and that it will be taken care of. However it has been a few months and [redacted] bills still come. I believe this business is a scam since many people have an identical experience as mine from what I've read on the Revdex.com siteDesired Settlement: I want this issue resolved. I want every penny I've been billed by UAG to go toward payment of my student loan LIKE I WAS TOLD WOULD BE ALREADY HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. If it cannot be resolved because they are scamming me. I will demand a full refund by any means possible either through Revdex.com or small claims court

UAG spoke to this client on 11/19/15. Eve a manager at UAG called the client and explained that she was responsible for making her own lender payments in September and October. Prior to this she was in forbearance. She was reminded that her income increased and this caused her lender payment increase as these repayment programs are based off of the clients income. the client informed UAG that she is now unemployed. The client is to send UAG a cert letter explaining that she is unemployed or her letter of unemployment so UAG can submit this information to the servicer. It takes the servicer 2-8 weeks to approved once the income verification is submitted on average. This will bring her payment to a $0 qualifying payment due to her income. The client understood and is ready to move forward with UAG.

Review: UAG, LLC contacted about reducing my students loans by half and falsely promised me that my payments would be $149/mo after consolidation. They said I qualified for the Federal student loan forgiveness program and my payments would be income based so they would be a third of what I was currently paying. They charged me $350 plus $49/mo to keep them that low. When my Federal payments came in they were $315/mo plus their $49 fee which were more than the $279/mo payments I was making before signing on with them. Now I can't make my payments and they will not return my phone calls.Desired Settlement: I want the initial payment of $350 plus the $49 monthly payments that I made refunded.

Thank you for letting us know of this complaint. At this time this clients file is on track. UAG needs to access the clients online account to see if the program placement went through yet. It takes 2-7 weeks on average. [redacted] an employee at UAG has been calling the client to get the correct information and explain the process to the client. We have been trying to get in contact with the client to get her taken care of and request a call back to 888.[redacted] ext. #[redacted] to [redacted]. Response:

This client is made that she received a higher payment then she was quoted when she signed up for UAG services. Originally she said she made $30,000 annually which she signed a income documentation letter at the time. Once we received her income she actually makes $48,000 which changes he payment a bunch. UAG cant negotiate any payments with the servicer. The program is based off the income and household size. This is why we have the client sign a letter form the start to give the most accurate information possible. I have attached the income verification signed by [redacted] for your records. She was in a 25 year graduated program for $270.30 a month. She is now in a 10 year program for $315. She will pay her loans off 15 years earlier and save money long term. The Department of Education program are all based off the individuals income. This account has been closed and there is longer a working relationship with UAG and this client. If you need any further information please let UAG know. Kind Regards,United Advisors Group LLC

Thank you for sending us this client complaint.

This client called in and spoke with [redacted] on 11/17/14.

Review: I have called 3 times and asked for a letter of deferment. They have yet to send it to me. They have taken money out of my account, but are not communicating/providing services. The first time I spoke with the company, they never put in the request. The second time I asked they said I needed a welcome call, one was rescheduled, but then they never called and said they switched to an e-mailed based system. So I finally received the e-mail, but they have not provided me with the letter about my deferment. They claim the manager has written the letter, but again I have not gotten it. I am trying to refinance my house and this is holding me up and hurting me finically.Desired Settlement: I want my letter of deferment that I have requested 3 times and an apology. I also want them to communicate more with their customers.

To whom it may concern, thank you for letting us know we have a client with concerns.

Review: I terminated my services with this company back in February when I discovered that they had been collecting monthly payments from me, but had not paid anything towards my student loans which they were supposedly doing. It took weeks to get ahold of a manager who was able to terminate my services with them and refund me my money. When I asked why I was not notified that the payments were not being made I received three different answers, most having to do with their unorganization and people getting fired and leaving files unattended.

Two months later, I have started being billed AGAIN. After 7 months of working with them, them collecting my money, them ruining my credit score, and the headache and financial strain they have put me in, they have the audacity to start billing me again. I have called and left multiple messages attempting to resolve this problem and have made no progress. Getting a hold of a manager, which is the only real person who can help in these situations, is next to impossible. I cannot afford to be double billed for student loans and nor should I have to with this fraudalent company.Desired Settlement: I want my services with this company completely terminated and credit card information removed from their system.

I would like them to refund any and all money they collected from me asap.

I would love a correction to a credit report to made if possible to show I was making payments on my student loans this company just didnt pay them or notify me that they weren't paying them.

This client of UAG signed up with UAG last year. UAG submitted a consolidation with great lakes, it was completed on 3/11 and she is in a forbearance. Client changed all her passwords and already created nslds. The client wants a full refund, but only refunding $101.45. The file has been closed.

Review: I've been told by my student loan lender, United Advisors Group has failed to pay my student payments as they said they would do. They have put my student loan in forbearance for the first year, and they were collecting $61 from me for a year. They failed to pay my loan which came out of forbearance on the 18th of December. As of right now my loan is 125 days past due. I had to go in and file for another forbearance myself. This company has lied to me and they have taken $600 from me.Desired Settlement: I would like the money back they took out of my account for the last year. I would like them to shred all my personal information.

This client file has been cancelled and UAG is not longer assisting him. This client is upset that he is in forbearance with Navient not making payments. UAG processed the consolidation on his behalf when the payment came back fro the income based program the client said he could not afford the payments and wanted to be placed in forbearance until he can afford the payments. UAG cant make the payments for the clients. UAG can only get he client into the correct program with the application and proof of income. If you need any further information please don't hesitate to ask.

Review: I enrolled with United Advisors Group to do debt relieft on student loans. They debited money from my account for the total amount of 2694.85. I have attempted to contact them because my loans were not being paid and I want my money returned. They keep giving me some bogus information about not being able to return my money because it belongs to the people I owe. That money is my money and GTX says they still have the money. I want it returned to me.Desired Settlement: I want my money returned to me

Thank you for letting us know about this complaint. We have spoken to this client and [redacted]rything is going well. The client was confused on the status but still working with us. The client spoke with [redacted] and the client income increased. We have been waiting for proof of income either 2 month pay stubs or tax returns to finish our part. The client agreed to get this information to [redacted] so we can proceed. She also stated she would let the Revdex.com know it was a mistake. Please let us know if you need any further information. Review: I entered into a contract with UAG on 8/9/2014 and was issued acct no. [redacted] I received 2 emails from [redacted][email protected]) on 8/6/14, one was a welcome letter and the other confirmation of the loan application.

I then received 2 emails from GTX the payment administrator for UAG. The first, dated 8/6/2014, was a welcome email giving me a link to the GTX Law website and log in information. The second, dated 8/11/2014 was a Reminder notice of scheduled payment -- payment in the amount of $280.00 on 8/13/2014 being automatically withdrawn from the checking account information I provided UAG.

My original student loan interested rate was at a 3.25 fixed APR. When I reviewed the paper and saw that the interest rate was set for 6.87% I called UAG back, within the 14 day cancellation window and wanted to cancel the consolidation. The rep explained to me that they set the APR high, but that if my current rate was 3.25% it would remain at that rate.

I spoke with my original lender after I was advised by UAG to request a forbearance but do to my loan payment not being greater than/equal to 20% of my monthly income I was not eligible to qualify for a forbearance. When I contacted UAG with this information, they told me to call my lender and request a forbearance, which I had already done, and they were unable to assist me further.

I have been continuously checking in with the original student load lender to see if the loan has been paid off and trying to get in touch with UAG for acct changes and have called many times and left messages. I have not been able to get in touch with an Account Rep since the end of August. UAG is continuing to deduct the $200.31/month from my banking account and I have been trying to contact them because now I am not only paying UAG, but because I do not qualify with a forbearance with my original lender, I am also paying $250/month on the student loan, and my budget simply cannot withstand the additional expenditures.Desired Settlement: Because of the poor customer service and inability to reach a representative at UAG, I would like to cancel this arrangement with a full refund of the money paid to them since August 2014 $200.31 x 2 ($400.62) INCLUDING the initial payment of $280.00 for a total of $680.62 in the form of a check or electronic deposit made to the account I have on file with UAG/GTX. I am very dissatisfied with this company and the program and am appalled with how they treat their clientele, and have to question one, why this company is still in business and two, how many other people they are taking advantage of.

To whom it may concern,

Review: in June or July of last year, I refinanced my student loan with United advisor group. months went by, & I thought everything was fine. A couple weeks ago, the references that I used for my student loan contacted me telling me that my student loan is in delinquency. this company has not been paying my student loan as they said they were going to, as I agreed to. They have been taking a hundred and eleven dollars out of my account every month. I do not know now where that money has been going. This has severely damaged my credit score. United Advisors Group will not return any of my calls. I have left 3 phone messages over the past two weeks.Desired Settlement: I would like 600 dollars back from this company as well as a letter on my credit report.

Thank you for sending UAG the client complaint. This client was upset that her lender payments needed to be made and had not. Her lender online access account was locked and unable to access to make the payments. UAG was trying to get a hold of the client in order to make the payments. [redacted] at UAG has discussed the issue with the client and resolved the issue. The client is on track and moving forward with UAG. If you need any further information please reach out.

Review: I contracted with UAG to consolidate my loans and lower my student loan payments and to also qualify for student loan forgiveness. I was to have a small fee $10 each month along with my student loan payment automatically deducted from my account and in turn they would make my student loan payments. This arrangement was in place for a year until I had to renew paperwork in the fall of 2014 then they stopped deducting my account. I started receiving bills from my student loan carrier (Fed loan servicing). My account was also deducted by UAG for $51 each month. I attempted to contact UAG and after months of playing phone tag the person I spoke with stated that I now have to pay the loan to fed loan servicing and will also have $51 deducted from my account for their services. I do not qualify for student loan forgiveness and my current student loan payment is not lower than when I initially signed up with them. I pointed at that they are not currently providing me with a service as I am now managing my own student loans. I tried to end my contract with them and they told me I would have to pay exorbitant fees to get out of the contract and my best option was to keep contract until March 2016 and end it then. So now I am being forced to pay $51 a month for a service I am not receiving. They also applied for a forbearance on my student loan without my knowledge. I only became aware of the situation when I received a letter from Student loan servicing.Desired Settlement: End my contract with them.

Response:

UAG has done everything they promised. The consolidation was submitted and approved, the program placement was done and approved and the client was renewed. This client wrote to the Revdex.com because she did not want to pay UAG service fees. It was the clients choice to call UAG and sign up for UAG's service. She could have done this on her own in the first place, UAG did not force her to pay a fee. THE UAG contract, compliance script and welcome call all tell the client they can do this on their own or hire UAG service to assist them. This client thinks the Revdex.com can stop service or fees which is ridiculous. This clients file has been cancelled with no refund as everything was done correctly and the client can continue on her own. All she had to do was submit a request in writing to end the service as the contract stats very clearly. It is so important that every client reads the contract through thoroughly before proceeding which would eliminate a majority of the Revdex.com notification UAG receives. If you need any further information please let UAG know.

I started working with this organization in 2013. They told me without their service my student loan payment would be about $1,000/month and with their service it would a little over $500/month. Every year they would push for me to refinance my loan to lower my payment, which would ultimately reset the term of the loan. Obviously, this would prolong paying my student loans off indefinitely. I told them I was comfortable making the payment I have been making, which they gave me a hard time about pushing to lower my payment. I started asking about shortening the term and paying more, but they would not help with that and started making excuses why they could not do that.

Then they told me that I could no longer file my taxes jointly with my wife with no explanation. Filing separately would cost me more money.

I finally decided that dealing with UAG was a pain and I will just pay my loans direct. I called them numerous times leaving voicemails and never received a call back. So when it was time to renew, they stated calling and sent me paperwork. I ignored them like they ignored me and did not renew my service with them, they then continued to take $41 a month out of my bank account.

I called again numerous times leaving voicemails with no return call. I finally went to the bank and blocked them from taking money out of my account. Which cost me $35 to block. Now I am waiting to see if they have the guts to call me to complain about not getting $41/month for doing nothing. The best part is that my payment direct is only $440/month. This organization is unethical so beware!

Review: I signed a contract with them to reduce my student loan payments April of 2014. They have been taking money out of my bank since then. I ran my credit report and saw that since September they have not been making the payments even though they have been taking my money. After trying multiple times to contact them, I was able to talk to someone 3 weeks ago. They said it was a mistake and it would be rectified right away. I now am receiving calls about my student loan. I have been trying to contact them by phone and email for the last 2 weeks and no response. I have left messages after messages. I have emailed them. I make 4 to 7 phone calls daily and no results. The last few days their phones are not even accepting messages.Desired Settlement: If I cannot get this resolved immediately I need them to refund the money. I will contact ** services myself and resolve my problem. I need to know what is going on as I guard my credit and they are messing with it.

Thank you for forwarding this complaint to UAG. an employee by the name of [redacted] spoke with the client and the client is ready to move forward with UAG service. The client renewed with Whitney an employee a couple weeks back and there was some miss communication. The employee should have told the client we need 2 most recent pay stubs to apply for the renewal program. The client said she was not aware they were needed. The client is going to email the pay stubs to [redacted] to complete the process for the client. As well the client is going to mail her PSLF form in order for us to apply for her public service forgiveness. The client has [redacted] direct line in case she has any questions moving forward to avoid miss communication or frustration on the clients end. Thank you for your time please let me know if you need anything else at this time.

Review: I have contacted this company to get my government loans consolidated. When I originally spoke with the manager of the company, [redacted], he was very helpful in getting my loans consolidated. I had this process begin in August of 2014. Since the consolidation of my loans, I have tried contacting the company via telephone multiple times starting in January 2015. I have left multiple voicemails with no one returning my call. I have also submitted a request via their website to have the company contact me. Lastly, I have contacted [redacted] via email to ask questions on how the process is going. I have no idea where my loans are and am inexplicably unhappy with the service since I have not gotten contacted back since January. I have also checked on my loans through the Department of Education and have found that they are still sitting there with the interest significantly piling up.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to refund all of the money that is sitting in my GTX account. I want all of the paperwork terminated as I do not want this company's services anymore with all of my information expunged. I also want to know where my loans are located and how to contact the company of who paid my loans off immediately.

Thank you for forwarding this client complaint to UAG. UAG has been working with Miss [redacted] and successfully consolidated her loans. At this time the client would rather manager her own student loans without the assistance from UAG. The client will be refunded the balance in her trust account along with 1 monthly payment. If this client needs any assistance going forward please have her call 888-995-7313 option 1. Thank you for your team please let me know if you need any further information.

Review: I was contacted by this group telling me that they would represent me for student loan forgiveness. I was told to pay $369 up front to bring my student loans "up to date" and then they started taking $48 out of my account every month. I was contacted by Fed Loan Servicing trying to collect a payment of $650 due to loans not being paid. I explained to her everything I did with this company and she said the $48 is not going to anyone but this group, as did the $369. Nothing was being paid towards my student loans, as I was told, and being contacted by a student loan company asking for money towards my student loans, a red flag popped up. When I called this company to follow up, it took me 8 times to get a human being, in just one day, and then I was told that the other company was just trying to take my money as well, yet they had all the correct information needed to process everything.Desired Settlement: I would like the $369 and $48 for May, June and July 2015 refunded as I have already stopped payment of the automatic $48.
