Due to long term illness I was uable to meet my obligations to pay credit card debt, and loan companies. It was a struggle to pay rent, utilities, and buy food. I tried to consolidate but was turned down several times. Finally I decided to file bankruptcy which was a very difficult decision to make. I kept telling myself that I would catch up in a little while but that time never came. I began searching for attorneys who could help me file for bankruptcy and found UpRight Law Firm. I gave them a call and never looked back. From the very first person, to the last one I spoke to that day, made me feel comfortable that I was doing the right thing. I was assured that they could take care of all my debt and then rebuild my credit. I lost a beautiful home, bought and paid for, and regretted that I had not found UpRight Law before I did. I am the Managing Attorney at UpRight Law for Enhanced Service.  Upon learning of this client's frustrations, I contacted her.  I discovered that this was a simple case of miscommunication.  This client had a claim against a creditor which was successfully prosecuted by UpRight...

Law.  Our litigation attorneys obtained a settlement for her.  The company which was sued has not yet paid the claim, but the settlement agreement was executed by all parties and we are now just waiting for the check to arrive.  Unfortunately, the jurisdiction where this client lives does not allow for the exemption of claims of this nature.  This means that this client will have to forfeit her check to the bankruptcy trustee when it arrives if we file the case before she has an opportunity to spend her money.  UpRight Law was under the impression that this client wanted to wait to file her case until after the settlement check arrived so she could keep her money and use it as she saw fit.  However, the client just informed me that she would rather forfeit that money and file her case now.  So that is exactly what we are doing.  We're very happy to have successfully resolved this matter and we look forward to helping her reach her financial goals.

facts of that case and I am not at liberty to discuss the particular amount charged here due to the attorney-client privilege.  However, the actual amount was significantly less than reported.  When I spoke to the client about this, we determined that it must have been a typo, because he was never under the impression that his fees were that high.  Second, we start working on cases for our clients at the time they sign up.  That being said, we do not file chapter 7 bankruptcy cases prior to the fees being paid in full.  This may have been the source of the miscommunication and we apologize for any inconvenience or frustration felt by this client.  We have already discussed the matter and he has informed me that he considers the complaint resolved.

This client and I talked about how we can go about gathering those documents and getting them in to us with enough time left inside a single monthly period to get her case on file without having to update those documents in the next month. She did so within a few days of our conversation. She is now in the process of scheduling her reviews and her case will be filed within the next few days.
