I am the Managing Attorney at UpRight Law for Enhanced Service When I was notified about this complaint, I immediately got in touch with this client At UpRight Law, our highest priority is increasing access to justice We do that by bringing our clients through the bankruptcy process in as efficient a manner as possible In this case, we experienced some delays due to a family emergency on the part of the attorney assigned to the case While we understand that these delays can be very frustrating, the nature of the family emergency made it impossible for delays to be avoided When I became aware of the full situation, I contacted a different partner attorney in the client's district and asked him to take the case so we can move the client forward to filing right away he agreed and we are doing that now We expect to have the case on file in the next few weeks and we are very happy to continue helping this client on his path to financial freedom

I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law I spoke with this former client about his situation last week and we were able to come to a resolution We apologize for any customer service issues that resulted in his frustrations That being said, we also disagree with a number of the assertions in his complaint For example, the fees that go into any legal proceeding are highly dependent on the amount of work that is required for that case When a client has a significant change in circumstances (like moving to a different state), then often work that was prepared for the previous state becomes unusable in the new state and needs to be redone Also, specifically in the world of bankruptcy law, local norms for fees (sometimes set by law) can account for changes as well Still, UpRight Law understands that this former client is in a position of need and the firm has resolved this matter with him by private agreement We wish him all the best of luck in his future endeavors

I am in the process of filing for bankruptcy I will have the complete fee paid next month I have to say that so far everyone that I have spoken to has helped easing my mind about how dumb I was for getting in so deep at my age I know they will do their best to help me to the end of this process

We do not agree with this former client's assessment of this situation In particular, she agreed to pay for the services she received while she was a client of this firm That includes the time for the preparation of a new case file and attorney review of that case file These things were done for her case file and these things take time Even though her schedule was hectic, the time our firm put into the file was time that we could have spent with another client who chose to devote the time and resources necessary to accomplishing their bankruptcy goals Still, the firm has done everything in it's power to resolve this situation for her and we hope that she will accept the resolution that she was provided

I am the managing attorney at UpRight Law for Enhanced Service When I learned of this complaint, I immediately called him to address his concerns.This client spoke with his local attorney one day prior to filing this complaint and only started the process of sending his paperwork in yesterday The process of filing for bankruptcy is not normally a one or two day undertaking Any law firm will need the client to furnish it with certain documentation to prove the factual statements contained in the bankruptcy petition The case is further complicated by the fact that the client owns multiple pieces of real estate which need to be addressed in the bankruptcy petition All of this is currently under way and we look forward to helping this client trough his difficult situation After our conversation and my explanation of these factors to him, he is pleased with UpRight Law's response and remains a happy client moving forward with his case
