SCAM! I scheduled a basic tune up for the winter The technician came out and drilled a hole in the vent, stating the furnace had been installed backwards so a drilled hole was the only way he could inspect itHe snaked a camera in and stated the heat exchanger looked cracked and called for a 2nd opinion from a senior techHe also stated the Olevels were off and the airflow was badSenior tech came out, checked and red-tagged my furnace! Cold front just blew in and my heat was turned off! Disconnected from the gasThey claimed my furnace was a hazard and I needed a new oneBase price was about $and the same amount to replace the heat exchanger so I might as well get a new one They said as my furnace was backwards and too close to the wall, they had to rip the entire thing out and reinstall it properly(The wall was just a cheap panel to the finished basement)I nodded and listened to them but it didn't sound right I flat out told them I was calling someone elseThey said they legally had to red tag it and turn it off
I called a 2nd company and a technician came out, unscrewed the panel (vs using a drilled hole) and fully inspected it He said nope! The heat exchanger IS FINE The furnace was NOT installed backwards, I just need a better access door in the cheap panel wall next to it(it's cheaper to cut an access door in a panel wall vs ripping out and reversing a furnace installation)He removed the red tag, reconnected the gas and did a thorough inspectionHe gave my furnace a clean bill of healthSaid its working fine, is a newer furnace and there wasn't even any corrosion on the heat exchanger, much less a crack I will not EVER call Uptown again Not when they tried to rip me off by $(which is what they quoted for a heat exchanger element replacement)

From start the finish the experience with Uptown Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling was phenomenalVery professional from the appointment setting, the repair person entering my house (he put covers on his shoes!) Gave me a step by step guide to the work he did, and even followed up to see if I had any questions! They are so through & I had a slight issue with the invoice and they straightened everything out without the stress of calling or emailing and not getting a response!
You can count on this company to being trustworthy, honest, and professional in every wayI will definitely reach out to them for future heating, plumbing, and cooling needsI highly recommend this company!

Friendly and professional serviceA bit expensive, but it was union and you get what you pay for

The service technician, Bo, was personable and provided excellent service overallHe had the job of swapping out a water heater done in about hoursThe advantages to using a professional for this job is that they pull the permit, have the code knowledge, are prepared for most any issue that comes up, and they deliver the new water heater and remove the old oneThey did not, however, readily have technical information for the water heater they wanted to sell me (such as annual cost, first hour recovery, etc.)The service technician had to call back to his office a couple of times to get a picture of the energy star sticker which didn't contain all of the information I was looking forThey seemed surprised that had I requested information on the product that I was about to purchase although this seems like a very reasonable requestThey did diligently try to get me the information, but I would have felt more comfortable with a company that had the specifications in hand and new what they were selling me

Michael *** from Uptown was great! He addressed the cause of the plumbing fixture issue immediately, and did the research while still at my home to find the replacementHe was proactive in setting the follappointment, friendly, quick, and knowledgeable

Jason K repaired a tub/shower leak and did a phenomenal job I highly recommend Uptown Plumbing and Heating for any plumbing or HVAC issue They are prompt, courteous, thorough and extremely professional Thanks, Jason!

I have always been pleased with Uptown The service is great from the time my appointment request is taken, while the service technician is at my home, and the follcall after All of the technicians have been great but this year Allan Mwas exceptional While booked as a tune-up, he spent a extra time here resolving an issue He even ran to a nearby Home Depot to get a couple of parts so he could finish the job faster, without having to go back to Uptown to get the parts Great experience!

During our annual HVAC inspection under the Happy Home program a couple of concerns were identified which led us to a discussion with the technician regarding repair versus replacementThe technician was very thorough and showed us the issues he was concerned aboutWe decided replacement was appropriateOur and their schedule was such that they were able to install the new furnace the following day during very mild November weatherThey also offered a special promotion so we replaced the air conditioner as well
The workers were all prompt, respectful and competentIf they ran into any glitches they discussed them with us and did a good job of problem solving the issues
We were very pleased with the whole process
