This company is terrible to work with!
I had major spinal surgery October 25, 2016. I did not, and never have received a written statement from this company. The first time that I ever heard from them was a few months after my surgery. I happened to be in the shower and in a lot of pain when they called me.
I told the representative to send me a bill and that it would be dealt with.
I heard absolutely nothing from them again until August, 2017. I still had not received a statement and did not even know the name of the company until the rude collections representative who had called told me the name. I refused to pay money to someone who called me demanding it without a statement or an account number. I did determine from that conversation that the company did not have my correct address.
I quickly looked up the company and spoke with a billing representative, who promised that a statement would be sent to the proper address, along with a phone call when it was mailed.
I called back in September, 2017, since I had still not received a statement or phone call.
I was once again assured that the statement would be mailed.
It is now September 28, and I have still not received a statement.
I am still very ill, and in constant chronic pain. I simply do not have the energy to continue to deal with this company.

and myself were billed for expenses that should have been paid by workmen's comp. They have been advised several month in a row!
I had surgery 12/12/16 for hip replacement, due to a previous IOD. The doctor and hospital billed workmen's comp Claim *** (Sedgwick) correctly so, but US Anesthesia Partners of Texas billed my personal insurance company, ***, and received payment totaling $2,043.14, which they need to refund. They are also sending me, personally a bill for the balance of $410.43, which I do not owe. I have called their billing department repeatedly to fix the problem. They apologize, but never get this fixed!

Desired Outcome

They need to refund Blue Cross $2,043.14 and quit sending me bills. I do not want my credit ruined over this!

Thank you for contacting US Anesthesia regarding your account issue. In reviewing your account all charges for the services on 12/12/16 have been billed to your workman's compensation carrier. You will not receive any additional statements regarding these services. I have attempted to contact you via email. My contact information was included in that message. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact me directly. Thanks

I have not received refunds from USAP per the advice of my health insurance company (***) for 2 dates of service, one since March, 2017.
I have not received refunds from US Anesthesia Partners (USAP) per the advice and terms of my health insurance company, *** for 2 dates of service. UHC states that I am to receive a full refund for $750.00 that I prepaid for anesthesia that was included in a package bill for a procedure at***. Because the claim filed for the procedure by *** was denied, I was told that I should ask for a refund for the prepaid anesthesia, since it was part of the package, per the terms of my coverage with *** Since March 24, 2017 I have been in contact with various representatives of USAP regarding date of service 01/16/17. I have sent the requested Explanation of Benefits (E.O.B.) and other documentation to different USAP representatives at least twice via fax during this time. Various USAP representatives has repeatedly stated that they will review my case over the ensuing months, including these past 2 months for which I now have email documentation with a USAP representative. I have not received the refund, in spite of the fact that various UHC Medical Claims department personnel have also contacted USAP regarding the refund (UHC case number ***) on my behalf over the past months, as well.

I have also not yet received a refund of $194.04 from USAP for a second date of service, 05/02/17, although I have also submitted an E.O.B. from *** and requested documentation to them for that claim, as well. This amount owed me by USAP is for a plan discount, according to *** I was asked to prepay for the anesthesia, and the plan discount was not factored into the prepay amount.

Desired Outcome

I would appreciate the refund for both 01/16/17 and 05/02/17 dates of service in a prompt and courteous manner. The total amount, that USAP should refund me according to ***, is $750.00 (date of service 01/16/17) + $194.04 (date of service 05/02/17) = $944.04.

Thank you for contacting USAP regarding your account issue. Your refund check was issued on 3/2/2018. If you have any additional questions or concerns please call me. Thanks

I tried for 3 months to figure out what services I was being billed for a year ago with basically no assistance from US Anesthesia Partners of Texas.
I received the first bill from US Anesthesia Partners of Texas on May 15, 2017 in the amount of $137.73 for "Subsequent Hospital Care" on May 28, 2016 (almost a year later). I promptly sent a letter to US Anesthesia Partners of Texas on May 25, 2017 disputing the charges on the bases that this was a mistake. I had received an epidural by them for a c-section on May 27, 2016, not May 28, 2016.
The following month I received another bill, so I called to check on my dispute. They brought up my account, said it had been reviewed and told me I owe $137.73. I told them I need to what the bill is for; I have a right to know what I'm being charged for. They told me I needed to follow up with the hospital for that information. I disagreed with them, since they were billing me they should be able to tell me what it is for. We concluded with them asking me if I was disputing it and I said yes, and they entered the dispute into the computer.
On July 21, 2017 I called to follow up on the second dispute. They again said it had been reviewed and I owe $137.73 (again no other explanation provided). I had done some research trying to figure out what the charges could possibly be for, since US Anesthesia Partners of Texas was not providing any assistance in this matter. So during the call I covered the following three areas:
1. May 28, 2016 was the day after my daughter's birth, so it would have to be some type of postpartum or post anesthetic service. I had a previous C-section and another procedure at a clinic where US Anesthesia Partners direct billed me for everything by them. I checked my medical records to see if they had provided post anesthetic services (or at least billed for them) and there were none. So I found no precedent for postpartum or post anesthetic care by US Anesthesia Partners of Texas.
2. I googled and reviewed Post anesthetic Care per *** Standards and Guidelines. The emergence and recovery items listed on the site were all standard items performed by the hospital nurse assigned to my floor (i.e.- vitals/temperature, pain management, vomiting, etc.), not anesthesiology. In a fully staffed and equipped hospital it appears anesthesia is only called upon if the medical staff at the hospital thinks there was a lingering side effect from the anesthesia, which was not the case for me.
3. I did check with the hospital to see what US Anesthesia Partners of Texas did for me on May 28, 2016 (trying to leave no stone unturned). They stated anesthesia is an independent 3rd party, which is why they bill separately. The hospital is not responsible for keeping track of independent 3rd parties; US Anesthesia Partners of Texas is responsible for documenting what they did to substantiate their billing. The hospital also indicated that the late timing for billing did not leave any options to look for possible additional information (i.e.- staff on the floor at the time who could have possibly remembered something will most likely not remember a year later, etc.).
After I finished discussing the 3 areas listed above, the representative on the phone said that the computer showed the services provided to me were for pain management. This was the first time anyone had given any indicated what "Subsequent Hospital Care" was for. I immediately informed him that I did not have any pain issues. My doctor ordered the standard pain medication for me to start taking when the anesthesia wore off, which was more than adequate and I could easily get out of bed and walk everywhere until discharge several days later. There was no one from US Anesthesia Partners of Texas that provided me with pain management. The representative then entered another dispute for me regarding the pain management.
I thought this last dispute was very cut and dry, but instead of hearing anything back from US Anesthesia Partners of Texas, I received the collection notice from

Desired Outcome

I would like the unsubstantiated charges dropped/removed from my account.

Thank you for contacting USAP regarding your account issue. I have reviewed your account and see the disputed invoice was recalled from collections on 10/13/2017. No information was forwarded to the credit bureaus. There is no balance due on your account. I did reach out to you via email. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these charges please contact me directly. Thanks

This business is continuing to call me several times a day and night regarding a bill that has already been dealt with.
I have been receiving phone calls every day for several months now regarding a procedure done nearly 6 months ago. This company, sent us to collections over a bill that we never received. We are now on a payment plan with a collections agency and have been making payments to them. US Anesthesia Partners CONTINUES to call, but when I answer they hang up. They are harassing me and attempting to collect money that is already being collected though the collections agency that THEY sent us to! When I attempt to contact them, they do not answer their phones and they do not return my messages. This harassment has to stop now!

Desired Outcome

I want this company to stop harassing me and recognize that the money they are seeking is being paid to the collections agency!

Customer Response

This has been resolved with US Anesthesia partners. I would like to close the complaint.

I received anesthesia care from this provider (US Anesthesia aka Greater Colorado Anesthesia) during a minor operation in February 2016. The anesthesia was ineffective as I was unexpectedly alert and in pain the entire time from the poking, cutting and stitching. This was apparent to the anesthesiologist and the orthopedic surgeon throughout the operation. I've disputed my bill in good faith with this company, as one shouldn't have to pay for product and services that didn't work, let alone left one traumatized. This practice's quality department performed a limited review, while not incorporating input from myself the patient, or the surgeon, and determined that in this instance, quality of care was met. If this is good quality of care in their (greedy) minds, this practice shouldn't be in business. To an objective mind, this borders malpractice.
